- Marley, a 17 month old Border Collie is a new addition to our family and joined us for his first adventure in the Lake District.
We opted for an extended version of the Coledale Horseshoe and Marley did absolutely brilliant. He absolutely loved it!

That looked like a cracking day out! Marley is the perfect dog for you - and he’s lovely 👍
Thank you, he’s lovely and has fit in so well with us 😊
G’day Marley! That’s such an awesome trail loop. Stunning on a good day!
Thank you!! 🐕
Happy hill running with Marley!
Thanks so much 😊
Marley was made for you guys! Loved the clip of Gary being pulled along 😂
Haha, he’s quick on the downs. Too quick! A little training needed but he did great seeing as we’ve only had him for just over a week. Thanks 😊
Bet marley loved it dogs love getting out there enjoying themselves. Don't half miss jock lost him last Monday looking forward to seeing many more videos of you three
So sorry to hear that Martin, you were obviously very close to him 😢 Marley did love it and appears to be made for the Lake District!
I laughed out loud at Marley pulling Gary down the hill! (Sorry!) But omg that is one lucky dog!!! What an absolutely perfect placement by the doggy trust. I am so pleased for you both and for him.
Thanks Lizzie, he’s so quick, especially downhill. We need to work on a few commands 😂
I think the Dogs Trust got this one perfectly right. Such a great match 😊
Beautiful day,lucky Marley.
My dog pulls in all directions, after grouse, makes it twice as hard.
Patsy(nearly nine)the Patterdale terrier, can run twice as many miles as me,without getting tired.
Thank you Alan. Marley just shoots off on the downhills which really does make it difficult as you’re constantly trying your brake whilst being pulled. Kills the quads!!
Even after the past two days and 3 short walks this evening and Marley still has energy. We’re definitely in trouble 😂
Well done guys . Great route ! Congratulations on Marley your new addition to The Trail Running Couple . He looks a great dog . .
Thank you Ken, he’s brilliant and so well behaved. Can’t believe our luck with him 😊
Great stuff! Going to have speed up your downhill technique to avoid injury!!!
Speed up?? Thinking of how we slow Marley down!! 😂
Cracking upload, great to see you all enjoying yourself. It's amazing how a dog can change your life, even in the smallest of ways
Thanks Darren. He’s definitely changed our lives and running. Certainly an extra dimension of fun and less about numbers. Best thing we’ve done getting him 😊
Marley is gorgeous. Done better than me on the hills too 😅 Why did you show Braithwaite!!! My nerves are a wreck now #Lakeland🤣
He’s brilliant Andy, such a good dog. He’s settled with us so well.
Not long at all until #LL100 now 😮
Great route, I did identical a couple of weeks ago but you were 2.5 hours quicker and had better weather😀
It’s a cracking route. We did it a few weeks or so ago for the first time when it last snowed. At least we got some great views this time 👍
Great route for Marley’s first adventure looks like he’s had a great time with you guys 😊
He loved it Karen. Born for the Lakes!!
Great choice of dog and a good fistance to try him out. We rescued a collie and run him in the Cheviots. Nonstopdogwear harness is good if you start getting a bad back. Paw butter ain't a bad idea if he gets sore paws.
Thanks Steve. He’s the perfect dog! Paw butter seems like a good shout, will make a note of that just in case 👍
Love it guys
Thank you ☺️
Oh my GOSH!! You got a dog! What a perfect dog for you and a perfect age. And isn't he a beauty and what a good boy!! I'm so happy for you guys. He completes you. Now you are a happy running threesome! Your channel was a 10 out of 10 before and now with Marley its a 15 out of 10! Well done! LOL. The pulling down the hill makes me laugh. Just wait until he pulls you uphill. That is the good part.
Can't wait for more Marley running videos! Beautiful day out too.
Yes, finally we have a dog!! Quite quick too. We filled out an application a couple of weeks ago with the dogs trust and they promptly matched us with Marley. Great timing too as he had only been with them for two weeks.
Can’t believe our luck with him, he’s perfect. Such a lovable dog with a great personality. Thank you ☺️
Fab video and route. Do you have an available gpx of the route
Thank you! Absolutely, I’ll send a link when I’m home from work 👍
Sorry, just realised I forgot to share a link to the route we did! www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/gb703o8in38pwonapggel/13.4mi-Coledale-Horseshoe-Extended.gpx?rlkey=bv9pqys6t27yyajfuc754u6n6&dl=0

Haha, great shout 👍
Great loop, guys, absolutely terrifies me when dogs are attached to people... please please spend the time training the dog to just run to heel much better for all.... harnesses are made to pull sleads so makes pulling people easy. Both my gun dogs run with me on the mountains.
Totally agree. We’ve only had Marley for a week and this was his first outing in the Lakes. Wanted to gauge what he can do but we’ll absolutely be focusing on training and commands. It’ll make life better for all of us. Thanks 😊
@@TrailRunningCouple awesome guys, ace having them in the hills with you, you'll start planning routes where you know there's high level tarns bogs and streams lol
Congratulations on Marley joining the team, always amazes me how much energy and enthusiasm dogs have when on the hills . He will give your outings a new dynamic for sure, great idea , hope you have many wonderful adventures together .
@@andrewlong1117 Thanks. He’s fitting in so well with us. Can’t wait to be back in the Lakes with him!
