Have loved everything Benromach I have had. Only had a dram of this. The CS has been such a value as it has been on offer for such crazy prices that I stocked up on quite a bit of it. Loving all the image editing you're doing. Cheers Wade

Hi Wade, even though it’s 43% for me the 15 is an excellent malt. I’m really loving what’s coming out of Benromach , especially the CS vintage’s. Slàinte Wade, a good review 🥃

I agree. It drinks much stronger than the 43. I have a Glendronach traditionally peated open beside it right now which comes at 48% - and the Benromach 15 drinks equally strong, it’s just more complex and more beautiful .

Wade, Benromach are a distillery that always deliver the goods. Obviously we would like this expression and the 10 at 46% but Benromach have a lot of stuff at higher proof if they want to go down that path. I think they should bottle the 10 and 15 at 46% because they are a distillery that's only consumed by nerds like us anyway. I would buy a lot more 10 and 15 if they did.
I love Benromach because they expose the lie that Speyside is a safe and pleasant dram. This stuff is considered Springbank alternative for goodness sake. I have a handful of go to distilleries and Benromach are one of them. If sherry is involved there will be that funky, fly in the ointment, quality but without any flaw,
I love the 10 as much as the 15 but I so wish for the extra 3%. Anyway, that was a great review. WT
That’s a good point WT, can’t see the mainstream drinkers even being aware Benromach exists so them bottling at 43% must be them attempting to break into that market.

If Benromach boosted the ABV on their core offerings, I suspect that a lot of the types of buyers who have driven Springbank, another small producer of quality expressions, into scarcity would be all over Benromach. Need I say more? Benro is hard enough to find as is, don't make it more so. At 43%, there are a huge number of what you call 'nerds' (aka 'enthusiasts') who can speak to the wider market that the core 'lacks integrity', that their rebranding was widely disparaged as 'ham-handed', and that the Benromach juice is highly likely to be infested with faeries, from Findhorn. In this manner, we can reduce the demand on the wider market and work to prevent the Springbankization of Benromach....more for us. Don't go shooting yourself in the foot on this; try the Contrasts expressions.
@@kellywellington7122 Valid points Kelly, and love the discussion! I have a bottle of the contrasts series Sherry and Peat Smoke, as well as a bottle of the Cask Strength Benromach, I just haven't gotten around to trying them yet. I suspect I will lean into those two even more than I currently enjoy the 10 and the 15.
There are a sizable number of bottles of fine Single Malts in those cabinets. I'm curious if you just decided one day to make a fair investment in a whisky journey or was there some other idea behind purchasing so many bottles at one time?
Thank you for the question Tommy. I am very fortunate to be in a position where I can afford to buy the whisky I want to and I have an addictive personality, so here we are with a passion and a TH-cam channel 😂
I made a massive list of whiskies I loved the sound of their flavour profiles and wanted to purchase to try, and ended up buying all of them. Currently have only 1 whisky on my wishlist and feel I have broadened my palate enough now to know the styles I prefer and typically only replace really loved styles and flavours these days. My purchasing has slowed right down.
I have zero interest in investment (actually think whisky is a terrible investment), every single bottle in these cabinets was purchased with the intention to open and drink and further my whisky education and understanding of this wonderful spirit 😊
