It is one of my favourites. I don't think it gets the love it deserves, or rather it does seem to split opinion. For me, I agree with you, high quality and good value.

Does seem to be polarising. For me so far I have very much enjoyed it.

I like your reviews for the sincere passion that shines through but in general when judging a product that I love like whisky, wine or cigars I am more attracted by reviews that point out the defects than the merits, if they are all good we risk ending up bankrupt. If Glenallachie 15 is as good as you say, costing here in Europe around 80 euros I would think of buying a case of six bottles. With sympathy.

I hear where you are coming from. I am optimistic by nature so look for the positive over the negative mostly, but if you have seen many of my reviews you will know I do indeed call out when and where a whisky is lacking.
Over the years I have bought many bottles to learn and explore what is out there and what I like. Over more time I suspect my collection will shrink to a narrower variety as there are currently many bottles in my collection that I won’t replace when they are gone.
The GlenAllachie 15 is one however that will continue to be replaced.
I hope this helps, and thank for your connecting with me my friend 🥃

I'm not a massive sherry fan but when we did a vertical Glenallachie tasting I've loved nearly all of them. They do some awesome stuff at that distillery.

😂 Thanks Sertug! Yeah it's pretty great when this happens. This is why I wanted to do this series, not scripted or preprepared, just a genuine response to the experience I am having.
Typically I lean more towards Port influence, but when a sherried whisky is done well it goes down a treat!

Plum pudding is on my list as Is the glenallachie. A side note I flew home from Melbourne on the weekend and I had 23rd st SA whiskey on the flight. Never heard of them but it was enjoyable and unexpected. Interesting hybrid of whisky and bourbon.

Great video, very nice to see you enjoying the whisky! Recently bought the Glen Allachie 12, and enjoying it a lot. Would you say the 15 is an extension of the 12 or do you consider it a different type?

In the netherlands there is still a shop where you can have exactly 42€ for the 12 and 65€ for the 15. Maybe i should stock up on them XD, i loved Glenallachie 12 and 15 from the beginning, but for some reason i found other stuff which i liked even more XD. In my opinion Billy Walker is doing a great job with blending the multiples finishes with each other to create the 12 and the 15, but for some people its too artificial, and i can see that. The difference is todays situation and the ressources he has at hand i would say. He is doing the best he can in this time where quality sherry casks are almost impossible to get and only the seasoning of the sherry casks defines the quality of the cask, which is a craft in its own now. When drinking GA you see the modern take on whisky and its different from glendronach for example. The execution is very good, but its not the same as old school stuff. For me i have found speyburn as a good old school style scotch for todays standards and for the modern takes on whisky i have found kavalan and elsburn as top expressions for cask driven whisky. Bunnahabhain 12 and the 12 cs and Glen Garioch 15 olorosso sherry cask are also excellent classical sherried scotch whiskys for me.
