I just finished this bottle last week. You're right about the water , it doesn't add anything significant extra. I'm fortunate to have another one gifted by my son. I suggest you clear the shoulders and let it rest for a month or two. I found it to get an ever deeper taste. Enjoy and keep up the good work.
Thank you Jan! That is a nice gift from your son, you raised him right. I have just got this one past the shoulder now and snuck it to the back of the cabinet to rest 😉
Great review Wade, loved each of the reviews and managed to pick up one of the Longrow Peated expressions after your last one. Keep up the great content, Slàinte 🥃
I found 2 bottles hidden in a warehouse early 2020 for like 110 euros. Lol. I grabbed one and my buddy grabbed one. I believe the one I have is rum cask finished. Very delicate peat. One of my favorite 18's ever.
Luckily here where i live in Germany you can find rare finds for reasonable prices. I made good friends with the shop owners and they always hook me up. Lol great reviews man. Keep them coming. @McIntyresMalts
Sounds lovely, Wade. According to whiskybase the 2022-07-07 bottling that you have is 100% sherry. With most J & A Mitchell bottlings it can be worthwhile not rushing, as often they can open up very well in the bottle over the course of some months. I have one in the stash from 2021-09-06 that's 30% bourbon, 60% sherry, and 10% Chardonnay.
Thank you Jbar, that makes sense given the colour. That composition on yours sounds pretty amazing too! Yes, I am looking forward to coming back to this one in a few months to see how it's evolved 😊 Thanks for checking it out!
I was able to get a 2019 bottling from a UK online shop. At that time they were available for a reasonable price. Absolutely loved it. Cheers Wade
One I am enjoying, but will find hard to replace at these prices :(

I brought a bottle of this from Glasgow back to NYC to share with all my buddies at my bachelor party. Special one for me! Good stuff.
A worthy bottle for the occasion!
Another great review Wade. Impressive descriptions of the nose and palate elements. I hope to get one someday
Thanks for watching Zedman!
