I'm in the super super super super super minority on this, but I don't care. Aliens was horrible!
The first movie is a perfect masterpiece in horror and suspense with a simple premise, memorable characters, an isolated setting, and a mysterious titular antagonist!
Aliens blends right in with all of the cliche '80s action fluff flicks with none of the heart of the original. It has no wit, no style, and no genuine purpose other than to capitalize on the hollow shell of the perfect first film. It's completely unnecessary, as are all of the other Alien sequels and prequels to follow.
