- Hello and welcome to Saabkyle04! TH-cam's largest collection of automotive variety! In today's video, we will take an up close and personal in depth look at the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro RS V6 45th Anniversary Edition. A tribute package to an American legend available for both the V6 and V8 models with unique paint and accenting, wheels, interior colors and styling, and more! V6 models also get a bump in power for 2012. During this presentation, we will take a 1st person look at what the car is all about beginning with the start up, performance data, fuel economy, the occasional track data, and build quality. Also, I will teach you how to use most of the interior and exterior features in a detailed fashion, that before, you could only get from going to a dealership yourself! Throughout the video, I will highlight key styling and unique differences about the vehicle, any available options, and of course it would not be an enthusiast car video without the good ole engine portion with rev and exhaust note with interior and exterior perspectives. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

I love the people who say it's not a real muscle car if you have a v6. I think 0-60 in less than 6 seconds is pretty quick. With a K/N cold air kit it has a great sound. Of course you would have more fun with a v8, but with insurance and gas, it's a compromise. The car is plenty quick for me. I just bought a 2012 v6 with a 6 speed manual, what a blast to drive!
I couldn't agree with you more! Insurance and gas prices is exactly why I opted to get the V6 RS over the SS. Check my channel I have a video of how mine sounds with the K&N CAI let me know what you think!
I actually found that insurance for both cars is very similar since they're in the same price bracket in the insurer's book
NICE JOB CAMARO RS
I have a rs but I rather have a ss still
lol this ages really bad
If you have a camaro that has an Rs trim or lower. RESPECT IT! dont be bothered by other people judging your car.
I don't believe in V6 American muscle cars but I stumbled upon a really nice looking V6 one day at a dealership and was offered a test drive. It's not V6 obviously but I was surprised at how much power it had and how great it sounded. The V6 are more for people who just want to have a sports car and have a little fun here and there. It's still a great car with good speed. Heavy or not it's still over 300hp. It will get you past just about anyone on the highway no problem.
I have a 2011 2LT V6. It's faster than my Z28. Nothing to sneeze at by any means. And whether you like them or not...you still look at them every single time you see one at the intersection. And that's why this car wins.
GM and Chrysler have really been stepping it up the past couple of years. I've been an import fan for a long time. I have a AP1 S2000. But I think I might buy domestic next.
Why must people have to hate on a V6 Camaro? I can understand that they would lack the special feel of the V8, however, V6 cars actually have come a long way, as far as horse power. You're getting V6 cars with 300 HP and some of the older Mustangs have 300 HP and that is with a V8.
I think they are improving very well.
I see most of the debates about these cars is about speed vs another. Well it's 2017, I found a nice '12 Camaro V6 RS loaded with upgrades @ a decent price and its fast enough for me. I'm 46. I don't need to race anyone. This car is fast enough. Plus in Los Angeles, not much space to zoom all about with this traffic and higher gas prices. I'd go be a racecar driver if I want to beat people.
The Camaro is the only pony car that I would get with the V6. It is a serious performer. It's just unfortunate that there is such a stigma attached to V6 pony cars.
With 323-horsepower and 278 lbs. -ft. of torque there is not a single need for an eight-cylinder unless an owner wants bragging rights to own a V-8 Camaro.
V6 models are can be just as fun as V8s. If you upgrade them to stage 3 it's nothing to sneeze at.
They don't sound as good, but I agree! My dad had a V6 Ford Thunderbird and its just as fun to ride as a V8 Camaro SS
You're right they don't sound as good. You can always tell the difference between V6 and V8
i have never owned a v6 only v8 and idk i barely feel excitement driving a v8 i wonder how the v6 would feel
It depends on your preference. I haven't driven the V6 Camaro but people say it's fun and quick. After watching some 0-60s though it seems slow. Probably because it's heavy Idk. I find it hard that you don't like feel the excitement with a V8 Camaro. Is it with auto or manual?
Wow Kyle, the new camera does an awesome job.Great video as normal.
Manual transmission ftw!!!
Best thing I ever bought, v6 got me to 155mph, more than enough
I've loved this generation Camaro from Day 1, I did a project for Autoshop in high school back in 2006 when it was still an early Concept Car.
This guy sounds like Kermit the frog
Victor Singh really
Finally, out of all the cars he reviewed; i could finally say i drove one of them (my friends car).
that rearview camera in the rearview mirror is awesome, it looks FANTASTIC
HD quality is amazing! Thank you Kyle!
This camaro is cool for a v6 and the hood is AMAZING !
I saw a manual v6 e85 giving scats and others cars the gap sauce. Now i wanna learn to drive manual🤣🤣 deff my next car.
So unique V6 CAMARO! :D thx Kyle for posting this awesome little muscle car... It sounds better than other Camaro's and the newer's are getting better.... Alway loved these Camaro's and modern/old Muscle cars w/ big V8 and V6 engines.... I see with pleasure all ppl in here are commenting so much and we all appreciate ur work.... keep it up and don't give up never!! ;)
the only thing i dislike about the 2012 camaro is the steering wheel... the way it said "camaro" b4 was so much more badass..
I remember when I saw the 2010 Black on black chevy Camaro for the first time around 12 midnight, I swear I was looking at the batmobile from the Dark Knight movie!
now this is a car !!!
@aabm2 The fog lights are actually driving lights. They come on automatically, but when you put the headlights on they shut off. Nothing a $1.50 piece of wire can't fix!
Kyle are you planing or want to do some tours of the new Scions? like the new tc, xb, xd etc I know you have done some but it will be cool to see them with your new style and quality, thanks for another great video merry christmas.
Kyle, you sold me on the 2012 Camaro, one thing you should have stressed was the leather on the dash. many people complained it was too plastic. now it fixed. SUCK IT STANG BoYS.
Pretty nice for a stock exhaust.
I say one of the most badass thing ever: the heads up display :D
its going to be definetly better than the v8, they redesigned this engine with direct injection to give more fuel economy, Kyle said that it gets 17 city, 28 highway. This has always been my favorite car, and ill be getting one later down the road.
RS is basically another way of saying you can't afford the higher spec model, with the exception of the Focus RS.
@awesomerandomninja The fuel range indicator is not always correct and it does go back in forth. So it is very possible for the fuel range to go up as the car sits there. It have an 08 chevy. So I've witnessed this many times. And it can and does happen. Quite often actually.
Neat Camaro! Great vid as always Kyle!
Weirdly enough, I kinda miss the old gauges and steering wheel, they were more unique to the vehicle and didn't look like they were taken out of the Cruze.
I just bought a 2012 camaro 1LS V6 6 speed with Ligenfelter badge on dash....crome exhuast defuser moldings...
not a huge fan of Camaros, but i like this one! still rather have a Firebird
@BlackOpsStopCamping What are you talking about? The odometer reading only moves when the car is driven, not running. The fuel gauge tracks how much gas is in the tank. Two different things. You can leave the car idling until it runs out of fuel and the odometer will still read the same mileage.
City Chevrolet. Days of Thunder!
@BlackOpsStopCamping At 12:26 it shows the odometer and the fuel range in one shot, and they are not the same. So the 67 miles is not the fuel range, it is the odometer.
the 2009-present Chevrolet Camaro is assembled in
Oshawa, Ontario, Canada
i am going to buy this awesome car :)thanks saabkyle
I love this Car... Chevy did an excellent job they just take more time with their cars ....Ford puts stuff together and have the A-Holes just buy it... Look at the windshield it has the chevy sign as a greeting and standard rear cameras... Nice!!!!!
Chevy All THE Way...
@awesomerandomninja I knooooooow. But that wasnt the odometer. That 83 miles was telling you how many miles you can drive until the gas runs out. Then he let the car idle, using gas, which brought it down to 67 miles.
One can only dream.
Normally I prefer V8s, but I had to get a V6 pony car, this would probably be it.
Something note worthy the fog lights actually project the chevy emblem but only to objects 2 or 3 feet away.
just put a deposit on one. can't wait for it come!!
Nice, got to sit in a 45th anniversary convertible camaro. Weird thing is that in person the speed gauges look a million times smaller than in video. And the convertible had horrible front visibility, the top windshield line was like level with my forehead.
@102ashrafc No, it does not suck! It's a new steering wheel for the 2012 model.
Amen! I agree. Not to mention the V8 is about 8k more. For what? 110 more hp? Not worth 150 more a month.
Was that Kyle or was that Spiderman in that reflection!!! Amazing Machine, thank you...
my 1998 camaro got totaled and this one is giving me flashbacks of my last :( i think im going to buy a new one haha
How can I get the moving gauges at start up on a 2013 camaro? Is it even possible? It looks really cool & I would like to have it & see them moving everytime I start up my car
@awesomerandomninja Okay yes you are right. The fuel range is 86. Which means originally I was correct when somebody thought that the 83 at the very beginning of the video was the miles when it was in fact the fuel range. It's not two different cars.
thank you soo much. This video made me get a camaro and i love it!
awesome.. always wanted to see a Camaro
@Americanmuscle1968 HP is half the battle. It's about torque and when it's produced. The old 4.6 Stangs may have been getting 300 HP but it was pushing 320 ft/lbs of torque. This V6 DI motor produces around 270 or something like that.
That being said it's still an excellent performer especially for the price.
@mrkhalifa99 That's with twin turbo this car is 323 horsepower naturally aspirated
i really love the way you review your cars and i rly hope u will show us a review soon on the 2012 camaro zl1 when it comes out, thank you very much for your good work , i really approciate it
Hey Kyle, i know u have a lot things to do but at about 5:08 the silver chevy silverado with the two black stripes and upgraded rims. Can u do a video on that truck if u can. Keep up the good work man. Best full in depth tour video on youtube. Thanks.
@BlackOpsStopCamping My favorite part of this whole comment exchange is that you just completely changed your point from what you said earlier. Also, I just noticed that there is a noticeable time difference on the clock from the beginning of the video when he starts the car to when he demonstrates the driver information system, which I think explains the difference in odometer readings. And a difference in compass directions.
I prefer the new steering wheel. And that gauges look better imho too
can you do the Audi Q5 2.0T?
I see it quite a bit but im surprised you dont have it in your 1000+ video collection!
A lot of people prefer a camaro over a camry if they can get looks though haha. I personally think if you get a car, you should go all out...
I kinda like he newer Camaro steering wheels over the old one.
@7cindygan3 That was the goal, here. Well not the 80's the 60's. It was taken from the old time Camaro. Dodge and ford, have done the same-thing. Its just to bring back some of the old history, from the old days.
AWESOME!!!!! LOVE THE 1080P!!
at 00:36 the RS emblem on the grill looks like V6 in the reflection.
yes you're right, but also GT-R got 2 turbo chargers which helps it to get +500 hp, otherwise V6 nissan got almost the same amount of hp as Camaro v6
Best video's ever!! Thanks for posting.
next year theyre gunna have tha 46th anniversary edition
i personally like the 98-02 Camaro's.
the engine on the 2009-present Chevrolet Camaro
Engine
GM LLT 3.6 L (3,564 cc/217 cu in) V6 312 bhp (233 kW) (2010-11)
GM LFX 3.6 L (3,564 cc/217 cu in) V6 323 bhp (241 kW) (2012)
GM LS3 6.2 L (6,162 cc/376 cu in) V8 426 bhp (318 kW)
GM L99 6.2 L (6,162 cc/376 cu in) V8 400 bhp (300 kW)
GM LSA 6.2 L SC (6,162 cc/376 cu in) V8 550 bhp (410 kW)
Whats the difference between the RS and the 2LT, and also can you start this model by pressing a button on the key?
@BlackOpsStopCamping You just said yourself that the fuel range is 86, so you just proved yourself wrong. Fuel ranges don't go up unless you fill the gas tank, which Kyle didn't do during the video, so the other person was indeed correct. So finally: 83 miles was the odometer reading (mileage) and 86 miles was the fuel range reading.
why do these cars look huge from pics and videos, but in person it doesnt look any bigger than my Pontiac GP?
@ichigo8892 I can I agree, the Camaro looks nice, but I here the Mustang sit's a little bit better. Not in the maket yet, but will be soon, I will test drive the two, to be sure.
Beautiful !
I really want this car
The Chevy Camaro. For adults who haven't grown out of the Hot Wheels stage when they were six.
@awesomerandomninja I'm glad you figured it out cause I am completely lost now. Haha. Sorry for wasting your time.
Kyle, what is the difference of a DOHC motor and a PZEV motor? I am looking forward to buying a Chrysler 200 LX and they give me 2 options of motors. Can you tell me the difference and recommend one? Thank You
What he forgot. Onstar fully integrated. Car has its own built in cell phone with own number, All systems monitored. Vehicle e-mails you once a month via Onstar and reports all systems. Log in to your vehicle with any smart phone and even view your tire Psi, Oil life, and all systems. Open unlocked and close doors from anywhere in the world. This comes standard in even the base model.
I really think this car looks better as a convertible!!!
@LuliFede1 Perhaps the Ron Paul 2012 edition and the Mid-Life crisis edition with extra power are next.
I don’t consider a V6 a muscle car but they are nice although I wish a V6 version of a muscle car should be a thing personally.
its also got twin turbos and all wheel drive... you cant compare the two just based of cylinders in the engine.
@saabkyle04 y this car is having steering wheel similar to that of Cruze,....the other day i checked the Camaro 2012 SS had 3 spoke sporty steering wheel,...is this Steering wheel standard only on the 45th Edition.??
Can you see the windshield projector thing from the outside?
@bmwmsport11 I thought the same thing. But I bought a 45th anniversary coupe not convertible and the front visibility is fine. I'm not sure why the convertible is like that. I'm 6'5" and fit better in the coupe than the convertible.
@BonneyTube96 Its miles until the tank is empty! Why do you think it got lower?
Omg wtf no vanity mirrors!! No way!! Lol just kidding. Good stuff. Love the patriotic color scheme.
awesome!!
Also love how Chevy badges this the 45th anniversary even though the Camaro wasn't in production between 02 and 09. Just saying.
1080p My best freind
@KotsChopShop That sounded like noise from the highway.
I agree the steering wheel made it feel more unique i don't know why Chevy could'nt have at least put 'Camaro' on it
Great review Kyle. Im just curious as to why most car dealers keep the gas tank around E???
sounds like a vr6, not bad
great car channnel
Camaro RS is 'Black Devil Bee'
