The reason why I love this channe is because unlike others they like American cars and not complain about everything about them (like motortrend and many more car reviewers) do and they're more enthusiast about it love you guys keep doing a good job
Fjf Gkgkfk that’s why I’m watching this video as well lol. My uncle has a 68 RS convertible Camaro, My dad has a 79 Z28. I have owned a 91 RS (6 cylinder) and 89 IROC 5-speed. Needless to say we are a camaro family. So I’m in the market for a convertible and drove a 2018 2SS and honestly was super disappointed. The 2018 challenger was way more superior except no convertible option. However you can pickup a ZL1 convertible in this body style for less than a new body style SS. And this year looks way better. I’ll be getting one soon.
How can 10 years possibly feel longer ago than the past 10 years? I saw a video of a new ZL1 and I suddenly remembered this unsung, truly unknown ZL1 from back then. No one thinks about or talks about this car now in pet because the Z/28 also came out around this time with the NA 427 LS7 from the Corvette Z06… it got all the attention and for good reason.
After owning my F30 BMW, I can’t see myself buy new American cars. Another league and the women definitely prefer quality German vehicles. Not even close.
I have a 2012 red zl1camaro, I've own alot of hot rods, but this is one of my favorites that I have owned.a joy to drive.ill be doing pully and other upgrades to hit the 700hp mark..
I have a 2012 2SS and one of the reasons I chose the Camaro over the mustang was because the camaro had a nicer and more comfortable interior (plus... LS3)... I'll never get the complaints about the interior in the camaro. This is a drivers car. If you need the fancy interior distractions, buy the M3 cause you're not in the same market as this car.
I prefer a key as well. Kind of like getting an old mower going by pulling at the cord, something about the turning of the key to get it all going feels more right.
Considering what my first car was, this is a dream, despite the bad mpg. I don't care about technology that it was expected to have. Heck, I'm 18 and I'm probably one of the few people in school that doesn't have keyless entry. Button ignition doesn't matter to me. And the speedometer works too haha.
You're not the only one bro. I'm 18, but I prefer keys many times over a push button. I see a push button as something that's not as proven and if it breaks, you're screwed.
i agree with you, plus a 15lb pulley full exhaust tune the zl1 is well 600rwhp.. as the gt500 u need a brake upgrade cooling and suspension to get it anywhere near the zl1s brakes suspension cooling and maintain the consistent 1/4 mile times and track times as the zl1 already has...
Thanks! In terms of forced induction, Dodge doesn't have a car in this class. I think it's a shame as I have seen after-market Challenger SRT8s with blowers and/or turbos putting out up to 850 HP. Now THAT would be a cool production car, but it would have more power than the Viper. Simply put, it ain't gonna' happen. Thanks for watching!
I remember magnetic suspension being used on off road race vehicles before GM used it. Who cares if they stole the idea. That's what competition is all about. Using ideas and making them better.
there was a comparo made on the two cars recently. the camaro was slower by 1.5 seconds. that doesn't make it a bad car, but it appeals more to a different audience.
With that amount of HP I actually feel comfortable calling it a "muscle car". Nothing bothers me more than people driving around in small 6cyl automatic Mustangs or Camaro's claiming they have "muscle cars". Sorry but a "muscle car" should have power like the name suggests. It's not just a look and if that's all it was then the whole idea would be pointless. Cars should be able to preform too and it seems GM got this one right. It is expensive but such is the way of having a high powered car.
still id rather have the zl1 over the z28. just bc I think the z28 will be such a track focused car that the zl1 will be better for driving around town... then again that's just speculation bc I haven't driven either yet so idk
Not really a daily driver though. Unless you are only ever by yourself or with one person, don't have to sit in the city (No A/C) and enjoy having one speaker as your radio which I would hate. I mean the A/C doesn't apply to me because i'm in the middle of nowhere and never sitting in traffic but to everyone else out there those things listed are a must for daily driving.
Lol. I'm almost 19 and my first car was a '96 Accord with a broken speedometer, dented sides, and leaking coolant. We just had it towed off because it was not reliable at starting up, so I have no car currently.
Mustang still uses iron brake discs while the zl1 comes standard with carbon ceramic brakes wider custom made tires while the gt500 gets run of the mill good year eagle f1s. To me, it seems like the gt500 was built more rushed compared to the zl1. Like ford just slapped a bigger blower and stroked the engine and sent it on its way
As much as I love the new Shelby's power, I prefer the ZL1; it can actually handle its power better than the Shelby (at least in corners) and the ZL1's a better value to me. I may get some beef for saying this, but I can't believe that Carroll Shelby was so stupid to allow his last authorized car to have 662 hp hooked to a live axle, it's a stupid move, but Ford might learn when or if the Camaro outsells the Mustang twice over to give the Mustang an IRS.
No keyless entry and start? Cheap plastic interior? No touch screen? You wouldn't give a shit about any of these when you drive this beast, listen to the exhaust note and get all the envy looks on the street. Camaro ZL1 FTW!!!
Actually Chevy tooka hint from Ford and put a live axle in they're COPO Camaro, also Ford has been planning for an IRS in the 2015 Mustang for a while, its not due to sales, its due to natural progression and a complete redesign.
After several reviews, the back pillars seem notorious for blindspots. I can deal with small windows. I've heard that you may have to lean down to see the traffic lights.
2:32 "You can't do anything better than that when it comes to American muscle." GM proves you wrong. 2014 Camaro z/28 7.0L Naturally Aspirated, Non-force inducted LS7 engine with a Manual ONLY transmission, with weight reduction.
I was thinking of trading in my truck for this which is of equal value to a 1SS but i'm afraid of losing the functionality and usefulness of a truck. Decsions decsions hmmmmmmm.
Trey Garner I was talking about how the Camaro...which is their muscle car, has backseats that you can't even sit in unless you're a kid. It's almost pointless to have backseats.
DaGerminator2 I know I'm saying removing the backseats would essentially turn the car into a roadster, so they'd never remove them. And GM won't care if it's the muscle car or not, it runs the same engine as the Corvette and would end up rivaling in sales. 4 seats also keeps it cheaper for consumers pricing and insurance wise
The gauges never made sense in these cars. the Genesis Coupe tried to do this too. They put the gauges in which is great, but they put them in the most retarded spot, who the fuck in GM says "oh yeah, this is a good spot to put the camaro gauges" literally the only manufacturers that have these gauges right are the new 2015+ Mustangs (with the package) and the subaru STI/WRX
Why do 2012 Camaros and Challengers look so much better than whats available now. Hellcat was a cool idea but 2015 ruined the classic look for the whole industry i think
Stupid move???Big deal?@3:33 I guess he had a depressed child hood life, that "stupid move" as you call it help out introducing the new redesigned Camaro, that help made it so popular ones again.
Camaro interior has always looked better than the mustang and if you don't like the interior, then get another car. Who cares about the interior with this type of car lol. It's a man's car
Not!! If that looks mean and angry then the Charger must look evil and pissed the fuck off because as for aggressive looks the charger! Takes the cake on that .the 2011 to 14 chargers are evil looking motherfuckers way better looking than the new 15s also .
yes they did....with the commodore the car that gm took the platform from to build this car and only the platform a.k.a. the place where you put your feet. however the entire rest of the car was designed to be a camaro. and even the unibody platform form was chopped up and refit from a mid-sized sedan to a two door coupe sorry but theres just not that much holden in a camaro. i'm so sick of guys trying to act like they know so much about cars by dropping the holden name. when they really dont know shit.. holden commodre = pontiac G8/ 2014 chevrolet SS...holden monaro = pontiac gto... now go find some other videos and tell people what you've learned today.
No doubt the car has great power and technology. However, for 90% of my time driving will be limited to areas where you need to drive close to the speed limit and I never plan on drag racing the car so all this talk about being .5 seconds faster I really don't give a shit about. Because of those reasons I am going to opt for the SRT Challenger. Much more room and comfort and plenty of power.for public roads. The cabin on the 2015 is much better than GM IMO. I just cannot get along with the interior styling of these cars. GM did a great job on performance here but to me the car falls short for trips more than 1 hour.
The reason why I love this channe is because unlike others they like American cars and not complain about everything about them (like motortrend and many more car reviewers) do and they're more enthusiast about it love you guys keep doing a good job
This design is nicer than the new design

@@Shallowballow5 years later but still no
I have a supercharged SS . just have to get used to the shape.. Get used to turning your head left to see other cars. Well built and fast. I love it.
"Sell your children on ebay and buy this car" LOL
its now in my price range lol at least a used one :)
Good idea
I havnt any children to sell but I finally got enough saved for a 2014 ZL1 convertible. Pick n it up Thursday and can't wait

Wow this comment didn’t age well at all. Dodge is far and away the leader in forced induction stock vehicles right now lmao.
@@coop4274 for heavy ones maybe…10 speed Zl1 is a better car in every way
With the convertible ZL1 you hear the pop off even more and longer :) Sounds like gun shots coming out of the exhaust

Sell your childiren and Ebay buy this car ! True.

at 1:58 that boy is flying in the background on his bicycle.

How is having to use a key a bad thing? i actually like the phyiscal feeling of turning the key to turn on my car.
Bumblebee is not a stupid movie
oh thats why transformers used the zl1
I think I`ve might have missed it ... Where was that beautiful landscape filmed? Dakota?
I just bought it, and love it.

The reason why they have the 4 cluster gauges there is a throw back to I think it was the z28 rally package but im not really sure.

2022 and looking at a 2012 zl1
We meet one day camaro! :P

Plus, the ZL1 gets more traction than the Shelby when it comes to not only track racing, but drag racing as well.
The only speaker it has is the one one for the door chime and key, and I don't think it has A/C either. A true, purpose built track car.
Camaro...when im 18 we will meet.
Lol. I'm almost 19 and my first car was a '96 Accord with a broken speedometer, dented sides, and leaking coolant. We just had it towed off because it was not reliable at starting up, so I have no car currently.

Wrong! This car still looks badass and the ZL1 is the best looking of the Camaros. One word...Red.
Great review of an amazing sports car guys!!!

And maybe the Challenger SRT8. But any ways great review.
What about the xkrs? dont they compete in terms of performance?
I was just going to ask if you could review the ZL1
Also, this is my favorite Nathan trunk scene so far hahaha!!!!
Does the TFL review scale count for the camaro V6?
I raced with a 2013 ZL1, we stayed together, i have a stock 08 c6... explain?
Now, this is the most baddest camaro ever made
You get that in the 2013-2014 version. I think they call it MyLink.
Boost is also readable on HUD
My dream car, but I live in australia they are like $87,000 to like $100,000 and rare, especially manual ones which is what I want
Where did you get the car from?
So how bad are the blindspots
After several reviews, the back pillars seem notorious for blindspots. I can deal with small windows. I've heard that you may have to lean down to see the traffic lights.
I've driven mine for 4 months and have never had any issues with visuality. I'm 6'1 if that matters
***** that's awesome. I'm 6', maybe 6'1 so that's good to hear for me.

Sell the truck, get the Camaro and buy a used truck for much less price!

why all car reviewers are giants?
0-60 in 4.85 seconds?
Why was it a full second slower in the previous video?
watch?v=SAxiuqGr3xQ
And also why compare a 2013 to a 2012?
Get a 2013 model.
How is it a 30,000 car..... nothing this good could ever be 30K fuck man it is still insane value at 60K
Forgot to mention the fact that you can hide a semi truck in the blind spots
Came here to watch a vid about the Camaro. Not listen to ford fanboys try to fight with people.
I have a Camaro, and its not my car... its my toy 😂😂.. love it❤
I love that car
Why would people buy anything other than this if they’re looking for speed? unless u can afford 2023s
Why is there backseats if they can't even be used? Why not take those out and extend the small size trunk lol.
Corvette
Trey Garner What's the Corvette gotta do with the Camaro?
Corvette is Chevy's 2 seater. They wouldn't dare challenge their prized car in any such fashion
Trey Garner I was talking about how the Camaro...which is their muscle car, has backseats that you can't even sit in unless you're a kid. It's almost pointless to have backseats.

2020 now and about 34-40k

I think it's sad that they have to keep repeating that some things are functional. Car manufacturers, stop putting body mods that aren't functional!!
Not even close to the same color used in the film, this has more in common with a school bus.
