Yeah I like this car. 5th Gens are the sexiest gen Camaro in my opinion. I don't particularly like any other gen Camaro. I always considered the Camaro a sports coupe not a muscle car so I don't exactly need a V8 however if I had a Challenger I'd want a V8.

I personally don't mind the small window class. I actually like the closed off feeling while driving. That was one of my favorite features in the car. Like he mentioned the "tank-like feeling", I love that.

My LT has a cold air intake and a magnaflow exhaust and it's got so much pep! I think a V8 would just get me in more trouble and cost more in gas. I'm so happy with my V6!

For me, I prefer the V6 because of daily driving. If you're using this for a daily, the V8's gas mileage is horrible.

+Nice Guy not true, i had the 2013 v6 camaro and went to a g8 gt and insurance onlywent up $13 your paying pretty high anyway becuase they consider this as a "sportscar", gas mileage is similar V8 g8 dont waste alot of gas compared to a heavy v6 camaro. The look/interior is disapointing chevy went cheap with the v6 especially the "LS" trim. And finally you will get buyers remorse for buying a v6 camaro becuase obviously when you bought the camaro regardless what you can afford you got it becuase you wanted a fast sportscar or you could of bought a v6 genises or accord.not trying to offend anyone but a v6 is for the younger crowd or who are starting to get into muscle cars but to keep it for a long time...no

Nice overall review! I own a 2014 and the steering wheel has been modified and the dash is no longer a solid plastic slab it has leather inserts that really look nice. But it is also rated higher in HP with 323!! And it's crazy to think that the V6 has more HP than the 2010 Mustang GT and earlier models. But it could use a pinch more torque but regardless it is a great car!!

Yeah I see what your saying about the steering wheel, I've been looking into buying a 2010 Camaro and have test driven about 3 so far. 1 was manual and because of that didn't have paddle shifters, that wheel was designed for paddle shifters. That's why it is so uncomfortable. That's what made me start looking for an automatic, with the paddle-shifters in the automatic it feels a lot better because there is more to hold onto.

I think the 2012 (pumped up to 323hp- and leather dash is nice/better steering wheel) year may be the best of the series- As far as this review - I'm 6'1" and no issue with head-room, it's a sports car. Try and Porsche, Nissan Z, or even a Mustang? He's right the glass is small (common comment) - you kind of get used to it, but make sure your car has the rear window back-up display.

I always wanted to offer up my 2013 camaro LS for a review if you ever made it to New York. Great review. I will say the 2013 has a much better shift knob, steering wheel, different dash that has a leather looking insert, and a bit more broad power band with the LFX motor in it so you were definitely pretty spot on with some of the faults you spotted in the 2010

The outside looks great, but again, I'm old school and like to drive with my arm out the window. My elbow shouldn't be above my head! I have a 2010 V6. First thing I did was change the cold air box to Ram Air. Big difference in acceleration. The only thing I do not like about this car is where the door locks are located. Instead of being on the door it's in the middle of the console. You have to get in to unlock the passenger door where all the other cars I've ever been in have a remote on the driver door.

i test drove the V6 Camaro a few years back and was disappointed - especially considering how costly the V6 Camaro's are next to the V8 mustangs. Aside from the bunker-like visibility, even though it has/claims 300+ horsepower - this review is on point in that you can't really "feel" it until very high RPMs. I think a foreign car with a 4 cylinder feels more exciting. So if you're considering a Camaro for the styling only then be warned that you will not be getting any sort of muscle car feel with this. On a side note it is the same engine as the base V6 Cadillac CTS - so it is smooth and quiet...

This new version is such a revolutionary design, this will be my 1st American car, my 1st muscle car, and I cant wait. Loved my Lexus run while it lasted, now theyre exclusively for girls, no man can be taken seriously driving a Lex today, not by the ladies, nor his peers. Not a big fan of the Camaro, but I appreciate your constantly positive outlook on cars you drive. I also agree with your philosophy of underpowered, so this isn't my cup of tea. The big problem with all Camaros is the weight (3800lbs for the V6) and size. If it was smaller, they'd savea lot of weight and the styling would be condensed onto a smaller shell, making it look far more high strung and taut, and better, IMO. Of the Muscle cars, the Mustang is still the best for me.

Right, that's the trim level but with the RS package it can be referred to as an RS. No babies were killed in the typing of this reply.

Now wen money isnt an issue fuck yea im getting that zl1. But even then if ur not racing, u just drive around ur city racing ricers from one red light to the next i think u need to set higher goals in life.. just saying. DONT HATE ON V6 GM puts more time into v6 now than 8 because of how popular they are. 6 bangers have came a long way and are no longer push overs. 320 hp is more than enough for anybody to start with. if u can buy a weak lil civic and tune it up wats wrong with a V6 camaro.

    • @_LEONKING_
      @_LEONKING_ 4 ปีที่แล้ว

That a V6 Camaro is a heavy ass coupe that mimics its look from an actual sports/muscle car, Civics are light very reliable little 4 bangers with an identity of their own. You can go very fast in a boosted vtec for very cheap, try to boost that V6 and I doubt it will last more than one pass at the strip. At the end of the day why don't you just get a comfortable daily driver instead of 3500+ pound 2 door slow "sportscar" why not get like a Honda Accord or a Toyora Camry? They got 4 doors, great fuel economy and it's probably just as fast as that V6 Camaro.

Does the RS badge mean it can only be a V6? I raced one today and smoked him, so I'm assuming its just a v6

I just want to point out in case it hasn't yet. I have heard that if you aren't beating on the v-8 the whole time that it gets better mileage due to the active fuel management. I would be interested in hearing what you have to say on an '89 MR2 S/C in good shape.

thank you, I was debating on selling my car and buying this same model off my neighbor but that interior just doesn’t seem practical and very cheap and seems to lack the power to at least off set that downside. Car is very beautiful and my favorite body aside.

Yer we have the same engine here in Australia it's in our Holden ve commodore, the 3.6 alloytec the only bad thing about these engines is the timing chain an tensioners start to get lose the chain stretches because of the timing chain doesn't get enough oil so if you fix that you'll get 800000 ks if you look after them

That would be great, if they could properly condense the design and maybe shed a couple pounds in the process too. Then it would also be more viable for Europe... (part of their strategy, perhaps?) I look forward to hearing about it in your weekly updates when it comes out!

Checked out one of these here in germany as it is the only american muscle that is offically on sale here: I was shocked how small and cheap the interior of that thing was, Matt...I couldn't sit in it at 6'4 and some of the button and the new steering wheel come directly from Opel / Vauxhall cars :) Most of my american friends prefer the Mustang and the Challenger and I think for all the right reasons :) Nice review, buddy ! Keep em coming !

This car feels solid and is a blast to drive but the lack of headroom offers a almost clean beheading for guys 6ft and over it has ample power for a v6 and the breaks are great but because of its weight it's not as nimble as say a 370z it's very unpredictable around corners aside from that I enjoyed driving every minute of it

The interior of the V-8 and V-6 Camaros are identical! Only difference is cloth or leather - which either can have, otherwise the exact same interior. Same goes for V-6 or V-8 Challenger or Mustang!

good review. I test drove the Camaro and the new Mustang - ended up purchasing the Mustang. The Camaro had too many blind spots, and the interior / exhaust sound wasn't as nice as the Stang I thought. Only draw back is everywhere I look someone is driving a Mustang - but then I tell myself there is a reason for that.... wish I could afford to have both in my garage.

I've driven both a Mustang and a Camaro, both have their strengths and weaknesses. The Camaro does corners better, but I didn't like the shift knob. The Mustang hauled ass (pardon my French) and had a deeper exhaust noise. I did not feel secure when downshifting and taking a corner though.
