I love the way you interrupt yourself to respond to Max. In the long run, that will give him the feeling of security and trust that every one of us needs to thrive.

Love watching your life. I'm back to weaving, started when mine were Max's age, fun times.
Just starting to warp my Baby Wolf and saw this one, timely!
Since you share so much, I'd like to share one. I found a few unused curtain rods and am reusing them to support the lea sticks. Quick, works great!
I was given a 72" LeClerc, mid 60s; just finished all the parts that needed replacing. Repaired warp and finished that a few days ago.
Keep doing what you love. I love watching. Wishing you well.

That's clever with the curtain rods! Then you don't have to use waste yarn, or bother with getting it all tied on just right. I like that!

I'm so glad I found your channel. I bought a used Baby Wolf over 20 years ago and have never used it.

I get that, I feel like every crafter has a project or two they've had for years and never started. It's in our nature lol. I hope you get a chance to try it though, it's definitely worth it!

I even left a project on mine, but 15 years later I finally cut it off, my husband wanted a bedside table cover, not a towel! It is beautiful. Late, but done!
Another 10 years later, I finally put on another warp and used old wool I didn't like.
But I needed to start on something.
I kept telling myself, when I finish ..., then I can weave. It just went on and on.
well, actually 4 kids, then 3 step kids later...
So, even my dogs are gone now, I won't take on ANYTHING I don't want again!
Oh, I've loved them all, but nothing for me, I kept waiting...
Mike is in remission, we've had CoVid. But I'm still here, so I'm weaving! Small projects, finally beyond plain weave. I tried a twill pattern. Magic! I'm happy!!!

Hi Mary Kate, I'm so glad I stumbled on your channel! I'm just starting on my weaving journey with a 16" rigid heddle loom, which is very exciting for me. However, there is one thing I would suggest to you with regards to combing out your warp: start at the bottom to comb it! Once you have done that most of the crossing over will be gone and you won't encounter real knots by the time you get to the end. Because it's like combing your hair. With long hair you start combing or brushing at the bottom to prevent those knots. Just a suggestion! Love your work and your maths mistake video was truly educational for me!

I can't believe I never thought of that! You're totally right though, that is how I comb my hair. Thanks for the suggestion!

What book are you using (with the patterns)?

The Handweaver's Pattern Directory by Anne Dixon. It's got over 600 weaves for 4 shaft looms. I love it, it's the book I first learned with
