    Hi, I'm not one to comment much, but I gotta say your videos are a lifesaver! I started using Studio to do instructions for my kids (I work at a library basically being a LEGO teacher) and all your videos have helped me make class run smoother, and do many projects per class. I am deeply grateful!

      I am so happy to hear that! I began my LEGO career by helping kids be more creative with their LEGO and am so happy to hear these videos are helping you do the same :D

    Hey Playwell Bricks! First, let me thank you for this great series! It's like the manual we never got! I have really appreciated it. Secondly, I relate very much to what you say about being very careful to present the instructions in a way that is most helpful to those who will be building your design. I find that to do this most effectively often requires me to literally build a section physically to ensure that parts go together in the best possible order to preserve structural integrity. Finally, I like to add my own logo to every page of my instructions. I add an image, resize it, alter the position and the opacity... and voila! Except that I can't find a way to do this from the global settings so that I only have to do it once. So if I have a 300+ page instruction manual, then I have to put in that logo for each and every page. I do this last, however, in combination with checking each page step. Thanks again for your great contribution to the Lego community! 😀👍

      So great to get your feedback!
      I have put in a request a while ago to be able to add watermarks through the instruction maker. I tried using external software to do this but the file size became too large. I have pages of instructions in the thousands so editing every page with my watermark would be very time consuming as you well know. I hope this is fixed in the future.
      Thanks for all your encouragement :D

      Hi! If you export your instructions in pdf format you can insert watermarks easier and faster!
      So open your pdf instruction, then click "edit text & images" on menu bar on top, then you can see the button "Watermark".
      Click "add" if you need to add new watermark.
      Attention! you can use only files in .pdf .bmp .img .rle .JPEG .dib .jpeg .jpe.
      Click "update" if you need to change watermark settings.
      Click "remove" to remove it :)
      I hope i helped you :D

      @@BJIuDLEGOMOCs Thanks! So export as pdf first, then open exported pdf... in what program? Eg. Adobe? If Adobe, then I need to purchase full Adobe program to get that feature. Or are you suggesting something else?

    Is it possible to make the instructions look just like the instructions in the LEGO Art Mosaic sets?

      @PlaywellBricks  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't seen those instructions yet. You can but most likely you will need do some graphic design work outside of Studio.

    How can I add a group of steps to create a submodel (in lego instructions they are usually under a tan background) to add to a page?

    • @PlaywellBricks
      @PlaywellBricks  ปีที่แล้ว

      First, select the parts and create a submodel. When in the layou, choose the option to turn steps into callout.

    Your instructions are fabulous around Stud.io - Thanks for taking your time. Just one question - where (except searching always on bricklink) do you get your bricks for your sets?

    • @PlaywellBricks
      @PlaywellBricks  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you , I am glad they help. Typically Bricklink is our main source. For larger projects we use Build A MOC to source the parts for us.

    Hello, I hope you’re doing fine! I’m trying to create the instructions for a Star Wars Tie Interceptor wings. I’ve watched your videos and helped me a lot. I divided it in three parts, a wing support and left and right wings. However I can’t figure it out how to put them together. Built them as separate sections. Any advise will be highly appreciated!

    Hi! I'm trying to add links to my social media in my instructions PDF, but I'd like to edit separately the "text" of the link from the URL, like with a regular HTML tag... Do you know how to do this inside a textbox in Studio? Thanks in advance!

    • @PlaywellBricks
      @PlaywellBricks  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I always edit text outside of Studio and then import it as an image. I find it much easier that way.

    I have a specific question. How can I implement a model into the instructions without their building steps.
    I made a little truck. One can attach different modules onto the back of that truck. In the instructions of the destinctive modules I want to show how they are attached to the truck ones finished.
    But how can I do that?
    And how can I do optional parts in the instructions? For example if one can build different front bumpers onto that truck?
    Help would be appreciated. Thanks.

    • @PlaywellBricks
      @PlaywellBricks  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You have to create separate files for each module/ option. Export specific pages displaying each option either as pdf or png and them combine them together either in Studio (using pngs) or adobe (using pdfs).

    Hi Playwell Bricks! Thank you for your video!
    I have one problem with page design.
    When i finish working with page design i click "save" and close a project. And next time, when i going in the same progect page design to correct something i see that all my corrections in page design is missing! It looks like I didn't do anything before saving.
    What i can do with that? Have you same problem? Thank you for ansver!

    • @PlaywellBricks
      @PlaywellBricks  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't had that happen before, sorry. I have had a similar situation happen if I hard qui the program (end the process through task manager). The recovery file will not hold the save to the page design. Other than that if you make changes to the model after you have done your page layout, that will also affect your page layout, but not like you describe.

    Have you found a way to push a step to the next page without adding an extra step yet? Say I have only 5 steps I want on one page, but the next step is the first step of a sub model and I don't want the next step to fill the 6th slot on a 6 step page format. Is there a way to push that 6th step to a new page?

    • @PlaywellBricks
      @PlaywellBricks  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes there is. Lock page containing the step you do not want to include, on the first step of the series of steps, choose the numbers of panels you wish. The locked page will not be included.

    If a submodel is existing two times or more LEGO instructions use the function 2 x or 3 x. You have to build this submodel tweo or three times. How can I make this in Studio?

    • @PlaywellBricks
      @PlaywellBricks  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You have to have the submodels in the same step, when you do this the multiplier will appear in the instructions.
