      Hi@@margaretmairi7927,
The TrichoStem Hair Regeneration has to be done in one of our locations in New York City, Long Island, or Virginia. Since it is a non-surgical treatment with little to no recovery time, and in many cases no additional treatment, you don't need an extended stay in the US. Many patients actually get back on the plane home the same day as treatment, but I don't recommend this for everyone as it is dependent on general health condition and age. Some patients with advanced hair loss may get a second treatment 15-24 months after the first, and results for international patients are monitored through Skype, FaceTime, or email follow up.

Hi thanks for explaining things in a better way. I am 43 years old. I’m having curly hair. I have problem of baldness. I recently observed I am getting the same pattern as my dad. Is there any age restriction for your treatment to work. I live in St. Louis in Missouri.

    • @AmiyaPrasadMD

      Hi @IntotheWildscape,
The TrichoStem Hair Regeneration treatment actually works better for men who have later onset of genetic pattern hair loss as they are not as sensitive to DHT, and their hair loss pattern is not as aggressive. Many of our male patients with later onset can also sustain the results of our treatment without finasteride because they are not as DHT-sensitive as young men who have an early onset, although finasteride is still recommended for many older male patients. I hope this clarifies things for you.

      Hi Thaer Qasem,
Autologous follicular stem cell therapy is still under research, so it's not available for people to use, so visible results on trial candidates are limited. On the other hand, our treatment has been available to patients since 2011, and we have patient data showing its effectiveness for 3-5 years, or even more with only 1-2 treatment sessions. Hi Abdisalam Abdi,
You can have the TrichoStem Hair Regeneration treatment because it only uses stem cells contained in PRP, which is derived from the patient's own blood. Extracellular matrix does not contain stem cells, but when used with our treatment it stimulates adult stem cells from within your own body. I hope this clarifies things for you.

Cost of the treatment plan also includes the second booster treatment, if needed in advanced hair loss cases, as well regular follow ups to monitor your progress, either in our offices or through Skype, FaceTime or email. Thank you for the recommendation! We have had many patients from Texas coming to New York or Virginia from around the country and around the world for the TrichoStem Hair Regeneration treatment. Since it is a non-surgical treatment with little to no recovery time, and in many cases no additional treatment, you don't need an extended stay in New York or Virginia. Many patients actually get back on the plane or train, or drive back home the same day as treatment, but to be sure you could do this for a flight, I would assess your general health condition first. Hi@@bhagwatsharnagati4967,
Generally, the earlier the onset of male pattern hair loss, and the more aggressive the hair thinning, then the higher the DHT-sensitivity. Men with pattern hair loss in their 20s and 30s have a higher DHT-sensitivity than men whose hair starts to thin in their 40s or older. I hope this clarifies things for you.

      Hi Abhilash n,
We would need to examine your scalp in consultation to determine if you are a candidate for treatment. Generally, the treatment works on existing thinning hair, and bald areas of scalp that have not grown hair for less than 5 years as the follicles are dormant, but not completely miniaturized. I hope this clarifies things for you.

Hi doc, I’m just 20yrs old! And I have already lost a lot hair around my crown area, I did prp back in 2019 but I didn’t get any good results! I have consulted with many doctors, dermatologists, hair specialists but they didn’t find any reason for this, most probably it’s because of genetics. The problem has become more complicated now, and I’m almost bald. So what do you prefer for me? Stem cell therapy or hair transplant? Which is gonna have more longer and permanent effects?

    • @AmiyaPrasadMD
      @AmiyaPrasadMD  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi @nyematasnim4451,
Sorry to hear about your problem. Pattern hair loss is a genetic condition hardwired into the DNA, so it can be managed to thicken thinning hair, and maximize scalp coverage, but it can't be completely stopped, or permanently cured. I don’t administer PRP alone for hair loss because it has a limited effect on hair, usually just short-term hair growth. Also, the number of sessions needed does vary, and the longevity of results is unpredictable. TrichoStem Hair Regeneration is a PRP combination treatment where PRP is the activator of the main ingredient extracellular matrix by ACell. TrichoStem™ Hair Regeneration is a one-time treatment for most patients, and can last up to 5 years and beyond, depending on the aggressiveness of the hair loss pattern. You don't need repeat injections periodically, and many older TrichoStem™ Hair Regeneration patients don’t use maintenance drugs like finasteride, but finasteride is a must for our younger male patients with very early and aggressive hair loss due to high DHT-sensitivity as TrichoStem™ Hair Regeneration™ is not a DHT-blocker. PRP injections for hair loss are needed indefinitely. Some TrichoStem Hair Regeneration patients with advanced hair loss get a second treatment 15-24 months after the first which we call the booster, but this is already included in the cost of the treatment plan, so you don’t pay extra for it. You can refer to these videos about the differences between TrichoStem™ Hair Regeneration from PRP alone, and how we treat crown hair thinning:

Autologous stem cells can come from a number of different cells, so it's not a uniform procedure. The limits of different stem cell procedures are detailed in the video.
Our TrichoStem Hair Regeneration treatment recruits your own adult stem cells for a healthier hair growth cycle to thicken thinning hair, and save hair follicles from miniaturizing. You can refer to this video on the differences between our treatment, and PRP alone - th-cam.com/video/vZAGaAssewY/w-d-xo.html

@@AmiyaPrasadMD Thank you for the reply.
The stem cells or Autologous stem cells I was referring to do come from the patient's own stem cells not otherwise, or, you adding any other components to your TrichoStem formula?

    • @AmiyaPrasadMD
      @AmiyaPrasadMD  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi@@thestork2210,
Autologous means the patient is the same as the donor, but it's vague as to what specific stem cells are used in the procedure. Most often, "stem cell" treatments are fat grafting, or stem cells from fat, as detailed in the video.
TrichoStem Hair Regeneration contains a little of the patients' own stem cells that are in PRP, so PRP alone can be classified as a stem cell treatment. However, PRP is not the main ingredient, and the formulation with extracellular matrix does recruit the patients' own adult stem cells called progenitor cells in the healing process, which in turn restarts a healthier hair growth cycle. I hope this clarifies things for you.

      Hi@@thestork2210,

Stem cell treatments are only effective if they are proven in clinical use, so ask your doctor about seeing both short-term, and long-term results, usually in before and after pictures. Hi I AM AWARE,
I don’t administer PRP alone for hair loss because it has a limited effect on hair, usually just short-term hair growth. TrichoStem™ Hair Regeneration patients can stop using minoxidil completely, or be weaned off it to prevent a sudden hair shed. You can refer to these videos about the differences between TrichoStem™ Hair Regeneration from PRP alone:

      Hi Costache Paul Eduard,
Sorry if you were misinformed by your surgeon, but you had a hair transplant far too young because you are losing hair faster than a transplant can keep up with. Hair transplantation, even with finasteride, PRP, and other treatments at your age cannot give you the hair density of your peers who don't have high scalp DHT-sensitivity and early onset of male pattern hair loss. You can refer to these videos about why hair transplants are not advised at your age, and how additional treatment can help improve your results, but they still won't give you the hair density of most men in their 20s:

Hi Can't think of a name,
Yes, we have treated patients 5 or 6 years, or even more after their first treatment, and their hair coverage and thickness still looked pretty good. It's important to remember that genetic pattern hair loss is hardwired into the DNA, so it can't be completely cured, but it can be managed to maximize hair thickness, and scalp coverage, so management is continual. Also, the TrichoStem Hair Regeneration treatment does not block DHT, so men with high DHT-sensitivity do need a DHT-blocker for maximum, and longest lasting results. It could be due to minoxidil as minoxidil delays normal hair shedding, so if you stop using it, or if it loses effectiveness, you can have significant hair shedding.
Hair transplants do not treat progressive hair thinning due to male pattern hair loss, so you need additional treatment like a proven DHT-blocker like finasteride to slow hair thinning, and the TrichoStem Hair Regeneration treatment featured in the video to thicken thinning hair. Supplements like Xpecia are not replacements for finasteride. I hope this clarifies things for you.

      Hi ganesh,
First of all, finasteride is a prescription medication, so you should only be taking it with a doctor's prescription. A doctor knows that a DHT-blocker like finasteride should not be prescribed to patients who are too young due to the importance of DHT for male physical development. 18-years-old is the minimum age I prescribe finasteride to my patients.
Some men taking finasteride do experience a temporary increase in hair shedding, which can last up to 6 months when use is first started.
I don't see finasteride hindering beard growth in my patients.
If you have concerns about finasteride, you should be asking the doctor who prescribed it to you as they determined if it was needed. I hope this clarifies things for you.

      Hi Mohd Tarik,
Yes, that is true. Our TrichoStem Hair Regeneration treatment works by stimulating the body's own adult stem cells. I hope this clarifies things for you.

Why can’t we just clone hair follicles?

      Hi @Zac_LDN,
Cloning hair follicles has been tried several times in different trials, but has been unsuccessful. Hair follicles are like tiny organs, and science has yet to be successful in organ cloning. You can look up hair cloning if you want to find out more. I hope this clarifies things for you.

    Hello Doc,
I am 29 years old, my hair loss begun in 2014 and by 2021 I lost around 25% hairs mainly from temples and one line cross the mid frontal part. I started Minoxidil+finasteride solution, back in Feb 2021, and after using it consistently for one year, I got almost 30-40% lost hairs back(surprising, but true). But those gained hairs were not as strong the existing ones. So I decided to get a hair transplant, had it 4 days back. So my question now is that, do I need to continue minoxidil+finasteride 5% topical solution? Also, would oral finasteride thicken the hairs which are naturally thin by birth(which is case for me)? And lastly, what do you think about new hair growth formulation like Redensyl, procapil, anagain, caprixyl etc??

      Hi Pep Singh,
You did get a hair transplant at a younger age than I would recommend, but you still need treatment after a hair transplant for progressive hair thinning. No treatment can make hair thicker that it ever was, but our TrichoStem Hair Regeneration treatment can make thinning hair due pattern hair loss thicker.
I only prescribe oral finasteride to my male patients, and not topical, as blocking DHT-formation is more effectively done systemically rather than just topically at the scalp. I don't find any of the other hair formulations you mentioned to be effective. Finasteride is primarily for slowing thinning hair. You can refer to these videos about why treatment is still needed after a hair transplant; how we can improve hair thickness in men already taking finasteride; and why our TrichoStem Hair Regeneration patients don't need minoxidil, other topical treatments, and other drugs or supplements other than finasteride after our treatment:

      Hi @oscargirin,
As detailed in the video, "stem cell treatments" are vague, and can include a wide range of treatments. It's not clear what treatment you had, but the vast majority are not proven treatments.

      Hi@@oscargirin,
Adipose-derived stem cell treatments won't help you hair. You can refer to this video on how we diagnose, and treat male pattern hair loss - th-cam.com/video/BmwyXS0D5tg/w-d-xo.html
