I grew up with Call of Duty. I was in high school during the golden age, from MW2 to Black Ops 2. I remember spending countless hours playing online with my friends, shooting each other or shooting zombies together. And now I'm watching this series slowly die right before my eyes.

Treyarch in general get treated like utter dogshit by Activision. Their campaigns for BO3 BO4 kept getting rewritten from massive open world adventures that complimented the movement system to either rushed or non existent. They had to rush Cold War 2 years into its 3 year cycle, which is why it was so bank in comparison to MW19, and now they’re forced to do the Zombies mode for the new CoD so they can’t even have year 2 support for Cold War. It’s a damn shame, because you can tell they still got the passion for it in a lot of ways, but Activision can’t give them a fuckin break.

Yeah it’s a real shame that Cold War zombies is ending so soon with only 3 dlc maps. Really think that if it would of had zombie chronicles 2 and at least 2 more dlc maps it could be one of the best. Activision need to sort themselves out

@@supernova2432 sbmm is indeed very important, but the main problem is that it is way too strong in the most recent cod's since MW2019. Sometimes the game even makes you play at servers countries apart from your's because of it, so it needs to be at the game, but not that strong.
Fun fact, the founders of infinity ward (and call of duty as a whole) left the company after modern warfare 2 to make titanfall. The quality of the developers didn't change, the developers themselves did
You missed it when COD actually meant a great title. I was 18 when mw was released in 07 and it was the shit, then it got even better with mw2. Great times until I found bad company 2, ever since then Battlefield has won me.
@@hubflower5433 nah i played em, they were okay but never had the pazaz of modern warfare and mw2 on 360 maybe cause infinity ward was who set the standard and was a big game changer in first person shooters on console. Battlefield was the other and sadly cod never progressed after mw2 which is why I'll pick battlefield over cod. Treyarch, sledgehammer, raven and so on are literally riding off the coat tails of infinity wards success that made the cod titles a hit. If they never were involved or made mw in 07 cod wouldn't be where it is.

There’s a lot of people who have just moved on. I knew when Cold War came out that Multiplayer was dead, and Warzone is hacked to pieces, so I play a little zombies, but I’m so burnt out onCoD in general.
This video puts into words they way I've felt about cod for so long. I legit stopped caring about cod after BO2. Advanced movement, jetpacks, wallrunning, slow ttk, hero shooter abilities, wtf is this shit? This isn't cod. I stopped playing, stopped paying attention to it all together until MW2019 released. I absolutely loved it. Then Cold war released aaand meh. Vanguard I feel the same way after I've played the beta.
I agree but I don’t understand the hype around MW2019 when it literaly failed at the most basic thing, which is the maps. While th gunplay, sound design, visuals etc are great, the maps are some of the worst in a cod, ever. It got so bad that the only gamemodes that were even played were gunfight and shoothouse/shipment 24/7. Cold War was a step back, but atleast they got some of the maps right, it felt actually fun playing it at times.
Bo3 was alright u gotta give them that bo3 was pretty sick but I do agree the zombies has decent not good not bad but decent Cold War zombies is fun o think the last best cod game was bo3 then it just got well trashhhhhhhhhhh

Not gonna lie. After playing a few matches of the vanguard beta I started to realise that I really don’t even care about new cod’s anymore. It’s literally a mw2019 re skin. ITS LAZY. I brought Cold War and was very pleased with the campaign as it offered an intense cool and interesting experience. Short but really good. Played MP and it was pretty good for awhile. . . . U til sbmm got involved. I love Cold War zombies and genuinely think it’s probably my second or third favourite out of all the zombies titles. It’s new, fun and interesting. Vanguard zombies. . . . Hell I was watching a streamer yesterday who is an avid zombies player and I mentioned vanguard zombies and that was the first time he even heard of it. A lot of people just don’t care anymore. I think it’s finally time for Halo to take back the crown with infinite. It’s gon be insane bois

Glad someone else feels this way. I bought MW19 for the nostalgia, the changes they made to physics, all that good stuff repackaged in a modern game, and freakin 8 months later or something I can't even play that game anymore. Every time I boot the game I bought I'm basically told to buy another game that I have no interest in. Completely stripped the MW elements out of warzone, left playing a game I never wanted.

It’s so frustrating spending $70 on a game that isn’t even finished, and when it’s finally fixed and all the content is out, I already have to preorder the next one. I remember loving mw2019 on release, and playing it for a long time. Warzone was announced, and it really worried me, but after it launched I thought "ah not too bad, but at least I can still keep playing multiplayer." Then the name change happened. Then warzone became like 40 gigabytes. Then Coldwar ruined balance and destroyed the dev cycle for mw2019. The corporate greed killed something that could have turned that momentum back to going forward.

Honestly the problem with call of duty is they forgot the importance of detail. What made modernwarefare 2019 good was the amount of details they added. Some autistic person sat down with the people at infinity ward and Activision and said make your doors open, make these more bullet resistant, make this better. Make Windows something you can shoot through make camo work, allow hardcore to be more of a game of hide and seek. The last 2 games have unfortunately just shat on that great legacy.

I seriously don't know why they CAN'T do different takes on series for each of the studios. An example: IW does the more realistic take, Treyarch for the old-school arcady action, Sledgehammer/Raven/Whoever for trying to see other avenues to take the series in another direction (ie advanced movement, etc.). So imagine 1 year we get a very realistic (at least in CoD standards) CoD title that's more like Insurgency/Red Orchestra from IW. Then the following year, you get an old school normal CoD with all the wacky gamemodes and zombies from Treyarch. Then the year after that you have Sledgehammer/Raven/Whoever do their take and with an entirely different direct from the other two, maybe one that is futuristic AF with actual GOOD advanced movement, maybe a title that is the blend between the two takes, make a third person shooter that Sledgehammer was originally developing, etc. They would be the wild card studio, where you don't know how the game/gameplay will be. This would actually KILL the fatigue. I seriously don't know why they don't do it, they know CoD sells even if the game disliked/shit (Infinite Warfare/Ghost). Like Activision is in a unique scenario where they CAN have their cake and eat it, but they don't for whatever reason. CoD never had a consistent identity.
@@Web720 CoD did have an identity and goal from 2003 to 2012. The first several games were fun arcade shooters meant to show realistic depictions of war. CoD 4 was meant to show modern wars such as those in the middle East and we all know about WAW. After that CoD did go slightly off the rails but overall they stuck to the main theme that CoD was built upon. Then came the PS4 generation and Train Go Boom
That explains the "My team" and "Enemy team". God can't Sledgehammer get anything right? They had two chances for a WW2 game and they both fucked it up. I feel bad for Raven, they should've been the one to do Vanguard, while Sledgehammer just do support roles, cause they have been consistently fucking up so bad. I really hope after Vanguard, Activision just straight up remove Sledgehammer from the CoD cycle and let Raven have a turn.

@@alexscholz3438 Yeah Sledgehammer was made for support roles, since the first thing they developed was MW3 dlcs and support its development. While Raven has been making great quality titles since the 90s. Making great games on ID Tech, which CoD engine's foundation is ID Tech 3.
When you beat these games, and read the credits. They’re extensively getting longer and longer each game. They have the people. I believe it’s a mix of hiring just about anybody, qualified or not, just to get the game out on time and having too many chefs in one kitchen with a total jabroni watching over each team. Every year now you see them give less shits and spiraling into indentity crisis.
Modern warfare would have lasted 3 years easy 2019-2022. Cold War wasn’t needed and vanguard should have been delayed until next year or also shouldn’t be coming out. The game needs some serious creativity help. The guys who created modern warfare 2019 should be the ones creating every single call of duty every other year minimum for now on

I came from that same era. The downfall was MW2 and YES I said it. Idgaf. All you had to do is grab the gun with the fastest rate of fire becuase there were sooo many broken guns it want just the double lever-action shotguns. The maps were worse. Only like one map where you can actually snipe other then that your a dude wearing a fucking gillie suit in the middle of a airport. Like wtf? Battlefield started off good and thennn....it became shit almost as if the two companies agreed to not making the other look bad. Battlefield and COD looked like they went backwards instead of forward.

Great video! My first Call of Duty was COD4 and bought the game yearly up until MW3. Idk what it was about that game, but it just wasn’t as fun as the ones up to that point. As a casual fan, I definitely will second skill based matchmaking absolutely ruined this game in recent years. It makes the games unplayable at times. It’s like the game is designed for you to have balanced stats. For ever game with great teammates, I have a game where my teammates aren’t good/ I’m going to against stud players. It’s annoying. I casually play COD, so it doesn’t bother me that much, but when I do, after a few games I’m ready to hop right off and play something else
They need to stop releasing games and just update every single game they currently have, they have the greatest base 9 games to work with, if they threw in an update for the old cod’s here and there they could really retain players

The thing is that not many people know what activision did after Vince Zampella, jason west and those who were crucial in infinity ward had left. Activision had treyarchs campaign team work on mw3s campaign and slegehammer with the remaining infinity ward staff work on multiplayer. Which is why we got MW3. I dont think its as good as others but I still enjoyed my time with it. Im just wishing the OG devs worked on MW3 and other unique future cods and other types of IPs. Then they teamed up with EA again and instead of continuing to help development on medal of honor warfighter. They made their new studio respawn which is symbolic and then they made the incredibly underated Titanfall series and Apex Legends BR which are all better than what activision from cod ghosts to cod WW2. MW19 restored faith but now its tainted completely.
Pretty crazy to think they left activision, made their own company and made two games arguably better than 40% to 60% of the entire cod catalogue just bcuz Activision couldnt stop treating them like dogs

I felt things changed after BO2, I played ghosts and hated it, and every subsequent release just looked bad or disinterested me. Cold War was the game that brought me back to the series, the reveal trailer got me so excited for a late-cold war spy action thriller, and despite CWs issues, I love the game. What's sad to me is that you can see genuine passion in every corner of CW, it just could have used more time to add length to the still excellent campaign, tweak the multiplayer, etc. It's a good game that could have been a homerun if it had more time. Vanguard on the other hand just feels so hollow, and it plays like the shitty version of MW. Cod needs to stop yearly releases, give us a great game every 2 years instead, but of course greed will never allow that
I really, really wanted to like ghosts. But something just felt off about it, never figured out what exactly it was though. After that it took me what felt like an eternity to get used to new cods, only for my interest to peak just before the current games lifecycle ended.
@@bulletzzz6196 extinction in particular was a real gem. A nice twist on survival/coop as well as a general diversion from zombies with a good amount of customization as well as a progression system.
The thing is, the whole "it's a WW2 reskin" CAN work, as we saw with WaW immediately after CoD4. In the case of Vanguard however, it just feels so blatantly uninspired. The gunsmith and warzone tie-ins are there because they per the contract HAVE to be.
I'm still crying about how they portrayed the guns in that trailer, *HOW IS A SIG ABLE TO BE IN WW2, WHY IS THAT STEN ACTION BAD, AND THEY MASSACRED MY STG-44 INTO AN SMG RESKIN, WHYYYYYYYY*
Imagine a WW2 CoD or Battlefield game that integrates the tactical and strategic game-play of the Battle-stations series (Midway and Pacific), controlling carrier fleets, aircraft and submarines on top of tank and infantry gameplay!
The nice thing about that game is that it has a beefy amount of single player content, the spec ops and campaign are replayable and polished as they were 12 years ago.
MW2 really was CoD at its *ABSOLUTE* best. I personally had a lot more fun with CoD4 (maybe because I didn't have the ability to play online yet) but the series really went downhill with Ghosts. I like the MW and Black Ops reboots but they don't have the same nostalgia factor.
Fun fact: call of duty MOBILE doesn't have skill based matchmaking, it literally has 2 different categories of multiplayer :public and ranked Not even ranked is based on k/d, its based on how many points you have on that ranked season So when you're a starter or someone who visited the game after awhile, you'll get a match with people like you ,who either haven't played for 3_4 months, or are a new player
I used to play codm for almost a year. It's just too easy esp pubs with tons of bot lobbies. Ranked on mobile also felt like pubs on console. It was fun, but the difficulty and quality of players was a joke.

I also wish that I can go to global server and not the garena server because it's just full of Chinese! Not that I hate the Chinese, it's just that my country doesn't speak Chinese! I used to have like genuine fun in playing the game in general and not just fun from achieving many kills and all that stuff because there used to be players that actually talk and react and stuff. I have this stigma of always somehow hitting myself with a thermite (and it was always on my edgy loadout with the hooded skin thing and all that..) and people would laugh at me! I liked that! It was fun! I wanna be in the global server without using unofficial ways to do so! And I want to sync my stuff! I still have that taunt from playing zombies one time and I flaunt at people's faces every chance I get with it. Anyway, I think I'm done ranting...
Except they don't expect anything to change, it's one of the top selling shooters every year. They keep making money like that, they'll never have a reason to change anything.
Ironic that when they tried ghost back in the 2012, or 2013. They got crapped on, although it's a good game and the last time you see real gun with real names. The sniper mechanic too, it's pretty cool, a shame it's underrated and we got more black ops and a black ops without a freaking campaign. WW2 was a bummer too. Could have been so great.
The only significant thing separating these new CoD games are the campaigns. BO Cold War's Campaign was genuinely great, as was MW19's. Sadly, these days the only thing that matters is the multiplayer and extra modes.
Even if they add something extra for multiplayer, it's just one thing. MW19 started adding doors to open and added executions. Also a crap ton of great details into the game. Cold war, it's just copied but without the doors. (To me it's kinda a step backwards but at the same time I didn't like the door mechanic so it didn't bother me.)Vanguard, same thing as MW19 but they only added breakable walls. Which is pretty much it. If anything, your buying cod games for the campaign.

I remember when the a lot of the fun from the online matches were the insults to each other's mothers between rounds, and mlg trolling the absolute hell out of squeakers, all while the defining noise from your xbox 360 is filling the background.

Yeah, they do have the benefit of experiencing the culmination of the entire series in innovation. Whereas we look at each release now and say, wow, same old same old. New players (and like you said, there ARE plenty of new players), are experiencing what we now feel as nostalgia, for the first time. And we can’t stand it. But they’re genuinely having fun. So idk how to feel. The series isn’t made for me, a 27 year old, and I’ve accepted that. I think we all need to.
Think of it as pop music. Most people who've developed there taste a bit realize how shallow and meaningless most of it is. But there is always millions of fans listening nonetheless

This is kind of how I feel about the cod franchise now. The reason why there was so much hype with halo Infinite was they gave it a pretty significant amount of time before releasing another big game in the halo franchise. And as a result of that with Infinite, I hadnt felt that excited for a game in YEARS. I feel like if cod did this, there would be more excitement around a call of duty release. The every year releases just caused me to lose excitement about a cod release.
I actually loved the mw2 and 3 days, but the recent cod contains too much in-game purchase like battle pass and skin sth like that. While old cod only requires time to grind attachments.
They need to bring back multiple factions and have the customization like COD Ghosts. Having to complete challenges to earn skins that were actually tactical and matched with the faction was perfect.

I grew up on black ops and it was incredible and new and amazing. The improvements they made in cold war zombies were pretty great but it wasn't new enough for my liking. I'd seen it already. I didn't buy the next ones because they came out every year with nothing new and the bugs killed me. I'm sticking to titanfall 2 for the amazing movement and genuinely fun multi-player
Nah. Specialist was alot of fun but support streaks were annoying and kill streaks were significantly nerfed, this was the first game that introduced spawn protection which made the killstreaks weak. Especially because of all the annoying trees and roofs that blocked the killstreaks too. I liked MW3 but it kinda started this trend of protecting players too much like we see now
The last games I bought were from 2019. MW and BFV. I liked MW in the first year it was out, the it got old and Claymores were the meta. BFV i genuinely loved playing with my friends. The only thing I wished was more historically based skins, like the very last ones released, and more content from other theatres. I wanted to see the Finish and Soviets added as a faction because then you could do the eastern front 41-45, the Winter War of 39-40, and the Battle of Khalkhin Gol.
Dudeee, you need to get that Xbox Ultimate for 1 dollar offer. It gives you EA Play which means access to all battlefield titles. Honestly I've played BFV and BF1 and in my opinion, I believe BF1 is way better in terms of gameplay and community. When playing BF1, you just feel clean happy fun, I've only encountered a hacker once and the randoms I was playing with all decided to type out their opinion on chat ( without any stupid filters, ahem BFV ) and they all left together leaving the hacker alone which just shows how good the BF1 community is to this day. My experience in BFV was just me getting sniped literally every few seconds, and having to spend 85% of my time running to the objectives in open fields and ofcourse, getting sniped as usual. The maps are way too big and actual fun action can't really be achieved. The only thing I enjoyed in BFV was the fact that there are no hackers in it, or atleast I think so.

Modern Warfare 2019 is probably my favorite Call Of Duty of all time, and it's given me some of my best internet memories of all time. That said, I loved Cold War when it came out. The campaign was terrible and boring, but the multiplayer was extremely fun and so was the zombies. Both of those game modes were extremely fun and while I didn't enjoy it as much as Modern Warfare, it happily took the place of Modern Warfare until I got bored of both games and moved on. People love to hate on Cold War but it was actually really fun

What about remaking older WW2 titles then? Seeing them with today's graphics would give a completely different feel. So I'm absolutely fine with developers making WW2 games as it is one of my favorite topic from human history and as long as they are historical, which Vanguard isn't. COD WW2 was fine, but that was only covering the Western front. I'd love to see another COD game like World at War.

You've said MW3 was beginning of the decline. I disagree. Black Ops 2 was innovative. They changed killstreaks into scorestreaks, classic create-a-class system was changed into Pick-10 system, Zombies had maps with interactive elements. BO2 is considered the best COD by majority of people. Although MW3 wasn't that innovative, they've made Specialist - perks instead of killstreaks and after 8 kills without dying you get Specialist bonus which gives you all the perks and makes you a super soldier basically. The real decline started with Call of Duty Ghosts

Treyarch in general get treated like utter dogshit by Activision. Their campaigns for BO3 BO4 kept getting rewritten from massive open world adventures that complimented the movement system to either rushed or non existent. They had to rush Cold War 2 years into its 3 year cycle, which is why it was so bank in comparison to MW19, and now they’re forced to do the Zombies mode for the new CoD so they can’t even have year 2 support for Cold War.
It’s a damn shame, because you can tell they still got the passion for it in a lot of ways, but Activision can’t give them a fuckin break.

@@supernova2432 sbmm is indeed very important, but the main problem is that it is way too strong in the most recent cod's since MW2019. Sometimes the game even makes you play at servers countries apart from your's because of it, so it needs to be at the game, but not that strong.

I agree but I don’t understand the hype around MW2019 when it literaly failed at the most basic thing, which is the maps. While th gunplay, sound design, visuals etc are great, the maps are some of the worst in a cod, ever. It got so bad that the only gamemodes that were even played were gunfight and shoothouse/shipment 24/7. Cold War was a step back, but atleast they got some of the maps right, it felt actually fun playing it at times.

Not gonna lie. After playing a few matches of the vanguard beta I started to realise that I really don’t even care about new cod’s anymore. It’s literally a mw2019 re skin. ITS LAZY. I brought Cold War and was very pleased with the campaign as it offered an intense cool and interesting experience. Short but really good. Played MP and it was pretty good for awhile. . . . U til sbmm got involved. I love Cold War zombies and genuinely think it’s probably my second or third favourite out of all the zombies titles. It’s new, fun and interesting. Vanguard zombies. . . . Hell I was watching a streamer yesterday who is an avid zombies player and I mentioned vanguard zombies and that was the first time he even heard of it. A lot of people just don’t care anymore.

I bought MW19 for the nostalgia, the changes they made to physics, all that good stuff repackaged in a modern game, and freakin 8 months later or something I can't even play that game anymore. this video is so accurate. the mw2 theme at 6:40 reminded me of how good the old cods were, something any post 2012 cod fails to do.
I remember loving mw2019 on release, and playing it for a long time. Warzone was announced, and it really worried me, but after it launched I thought "ah not too bad, but at least I can still keep playing multiplayer." Then the name change happened. Then warzone became like 40 gigabytes. Then Coldwar ruined balance and destroyed the dev cycle for mw2019. The corporate greed killed something that could have turned that momentum back to going forward.
But i dont see that many campers anymore. Makes the damascus grind pretty easy for me. I started 4 days ago and im already done with launchers and melee

Activision is really at fault here. Just look at what happened to the Blizzard games as well.
Honestly the problem with call of duty is they forgot the importance of detail. What made modernwarefare 2019 good was the amount of details they added. Some autistic person sat down with the people at infinity ward and Activision and said make your doors open, make these more bullet resistant, make this better. Make Windows something you can shoot through make camo work, allow hardcore to be more of a game of hide and seek. The last 2 games have unfortunately just shat on that great legacy.

I don’t feel bad for Call of Duty’s current state, the development teams and studios brought this upon themselves. They’ve run this series into the ground along with the sweat streamers in this misguided effort to make cod into something it isn’t
Streamers make money dude... they sell this sweaty attitude cause they make a living out of it... the problem is with the gamers that buy this annoying "competitive" attitude that is just toxic... people nowadays play only to win and not to have fun... they play to "show off their skill" and not to have a good chill time and laugh...
The problem is the gamer himself that has forgotten that having fun is why we play games... if the buyers are retarded and they buy a million crappy broken cars from a crappy company, do you think the company will stop producing them just cause they're crappy???
I seriously don't know why they CAN'T do different takes on series for each of the studios. An example: IW does the more realistic take, Treyarch for the old-school arcady action, Sledgehammer/Raven/Whoever for trying to see other avenues to take the series in another direction (ie advanced movement, etc.).
So imagine 1 year we get a very realistic (at least in CoD standards) CoD title that's more like Insurgency/Red Orchestra from IW. Then the following year, you get an old school normal CoD with all the wacky gamemodes and zombies from Treyarch. Then the year after that you have Sledgehammer/Raven/Whoever do their take and with an entirely different direct from the other two, maybe one that is futuristic AF with actual GOOD advanced movement, maybe a title that is the blend between the two takes, make a third person shooter that Sledgehammer was originally developing, etc. They would be the wild card studio, where you don't know how the game/gameplay will be.
This would actually KILL the fatigue. I seriously don't know why they don't do it, they know CoD sells even if the game disliked/shit (Infinite Warfare/Ghost).
Like Activision is in a unique scenario where they CAN have their cake and eat it, but they don't for whatever reason. CoD never had a consistent identity.
@@Web720 CoD did have an identity and goal from 2003 to 2012. The first several games were fun arcade shooters meant to show realistic depictions of war. CoD 4 was meant to show modern wars such as those in the middle East and we all know about WAW. After that CoD did go slightly off the rails but overall they stuck to the main theme that CoD was built upon. Then came the PS4 generation and Train Go Boom

That explains the "My team" and "Enemy team". God can't Sledgehammer get anything right? They had two chances for a WW2 game and they both fucked it up. I feel bad for Raven, they should've been the one to do Vanguard, while Sledgehammer just do support roles, cause they have been consistently fucking up so bad. I really hope after Vanguard, Activision just straight up remove Sledgehammer from the CoD cycle and let Raven have a turn.

When you beat these games, and read the credits. They’re extensively getting longer and longer each game. They have the people. I believe it’s a mix of hiring just about anybody, qualified or not, just to get the game out on time and having too many chefs in one kitchen with a total jabroni watching over each team. Every year now you see them give less shits and spiraling into indentity crisis.
Modern warfare would have lasted 3 years easy 2019-2022. Cold War wasn’t needed and vanguard should have been delayed until next year or also shouldn’t be coming out. The game needs some serious creativity help. The guys who created modern warfare 2019 should be the ones creating every single call of duty every other year minimum for now on

All you had to do is grab the gun with the fastest rate of fire becuase there were sooo many broken guns it want just the double lever-action shotguns. The maps were worse. Battlefield started off good and thennn....it became shit almost as if the two companies agreed to not making the other look bad. Great video! My first Call of Duty was COD4 and bought the game yearly up until MW3. Idk what it was about that game, but it just wasn’t as fun as the ones up to that point.
As a casual fan, I definitely will second skill based matchmaking absolutely ruined this game in recent years. It makes the games unplayable at times. It’s like the game is designed for you to have balanced stats. For ever game with great teammates, I have a game where my teammates aren’t good/ I’m going to against stud players. It’s annoying. I casually play COD, so it doesn’t bother me that much, but when I do, after a few games I’m ready to hop right off and play something else
They need to stop releasing games and just update every single game they currently have, they have the greatest base 9 games to work with, if they threw in an update for the old cod’s here and there they could really retain players

The thing is that not many people know what activision did after Vince Zampella, jason west and those who were crucial in infinity ward had left. Activision had treyarchs campaign team work on mw3s campaign and slegehammer with the remaining infinity ward staff work on multiplayer. Which is why we got MW3. I dont think its as good as others but I still enjoyed my time with it. Im just wishing the OG devs worked on MW3 and other unique future cods and other types of IPs. Then they teamed up with EA again and instead of continuing to help development on medal of honor warfighter. They made their new studio respawn which is symbolic and then they made the incredibly underated Titanfall series and Apex Legends BR which are all better than what activision from cod ghosts to cod WW2. MW19 restored faith but now its tainted completely.

I felt things changed after BO2, I played ghosts and hated it, and every subsequent release just looked bad or disinterested me. Cold War was the game that brought me back to the series, the reveal trailer got me so excited for a late-cold war spy action thriller, and despite CWs issues, I love the game. What's sad to me is that you can see genuine passion in every corner of CW, it just could have used more time to add length to the still excellent campaign, tweak the multiplayer, etc. It's a good game that could have been a homerun if it had more time. Vanguard on the other hand just feels so hollow, and it plays like the shitty version of MW. Cod needs to stop yearly releases, give us a great game every 2 years instead, but of course greed will never allow that

I really, really wanted to like ghosts. But something just felt off about it, never figured out what exactly it was though. After that it took me what felt like an eternity to get used to new cods, only for my interest to peak just before the current games lifecycle ended.

The thing is, the whole "it's a WW2 reskin" CAN work, as we saw with WaW immediately after CoD4. In the case of Vanguard however, it just feels so blatantly uninspired. The gunsmith and warzone tie-ins are there because they per the contract HAVE to be.

The nice thing about that game is that it has a beefy amount of single player content, the spec ops and campaign are replayable and polished as they were 12 years ago.
MW2 really was CoD at its *ABSOLUTE* best. I personally had a lot more fun with CoD4 (maybe because I didn't have the ability to play online yet) but the series really went downhill with Ghosts. I like the MW and Black Ops reboots but they don't have the same nostalgia factor.

Fun fact: call of duty MOBILE doesn't have skill based matchmaking, it literally has 2 different categories of multiplayer :public and ranked
Not even ranked is based on k/d, its based on how many points you have on that ranked season
So when you're a starter or someone who visited the game after awhile, you'll get a match with people like you ,who either haven't played for 3_4 months, or are a new player
I used to play codm for almost a year. It's just too easy esp pubs with tons of bot lobbies.
Ranked on mobile also felt like pubs on console.
It was fun, but the difficulty and quality of players was a joke.

I used to have like genuine fun in playing the game in general and not just fun from achieving many kills and all that stuff because there used to be players that actually talk and react and stuff. I have this stigma of always somehow hitting myself with a thermite (and it was always on my edgy loadout with the hooded skin thing and all that..) and people would laugh at me! I liked that! It was fun! I wanna be in the global server without using unofficial ways to do so! And I want to sync my stuff! Ironic that when they tried ghost back in the 2012, or 2013. They got crapped on, although it's a good game and the last time you see real gun with real names. The sniper mechanic too, it's pretty cool, a shame it's underrated and we got more black ops and a black ops without a freaking campaign. WW2 was a bummer too. Could have been so great.

The only significant thing separating these new CoD games are the campaigns. BO Cold War's Campaign was genuinely great, as was MW19's. Sadly, these days the only thing that matters is the multiplayer and extra modes.
Even if they add something extra for multiplayer, it's just one thing. MW19 started adding doors to open and added executions. Also a crap ton of great details into the game. Cold war, it's just copied but without the doors. (To me it's kinda a step backwards but at the same time I didn't like the door mechanic so it didn't bother me.)Vanguard, same thing as MW19 but they only added breakable walls. Which is pretty much it. If anything, your buying cod games for the campaign.

So idk how to feel. The series isn’t made for me, a 27 year old, and I’ve accepted that. I think we all need to.

This is kind of how I feel about the cod franchise now. The reason why there was so much hype with halo Infinite was they gave it a pretty significant amount of time before releasing another big game in the halo franchise. And as a result of that with Infinite, I hadnt felt that excited for a game in YEARS. I feel like if cod did this, there would be more excitement around a call of duty release. The every year releases just caused me to lose excitement about a cod release.
I actually loved the mw2 and 3 days, but the recent cod contains too much in-game purchase like battle pass and skin sth like that. While old cod only requires time to grind attachments.
They need to bring back multiple factions and have the customization like COD Ghosts. Having to complete challenges to earn skins that were actually tactical and matched with the faction was perfect.
This was probably recorded before the Activsion-Blizzard controversy... And released just in time for it. Aged like wine!

I grew up on black ops and it was incredible and new and amazing. The improvements they made in cold war zombies were pretty great but it wasn't new enough for my liking. I'd seen it already. I didn't buy the next ones because they came out every year with nothing new and the bugs killed me. I'm sticking to titanfall 2 for the amazing movement and genuinely fun multi-player
Mw3 kill streak system was the best part of the game. kill streaks, support streaks and all perks pro gave so many options on how you wanted to play.

Nah. Specialist was alot of fun but support streaks were annoying and kill streaks were significantly nerfed, this was the first game that introduced spawn protection which made the killstreaks weak. Especially because of all the annoying trees and roofs that blocked the killstreaks too. I liked MW3 but it kinda started this trend of protecting players too much like we see now

The last games I bought were from 2019. MW and BFV. I liked MW in the first year it was out, the it got old and Claymores were the meta. BFV i genuinely loved playing with my friends. The only thing I wished was more historically based skins, like the very last ones released, and more content from other theatres. I wanted to see the Finish and Soviets added as a faction because then you could do the eastern front 41-45, the Winter War of 39-40, and the Battle of Khalkhin Gol.
Dudeee, you need to get that Xbox Ultimate for 1 dollar offer. It gives you EA Play which means access to all battlefield titles. Honestly I've played BFV and BF1 and in my opinion, I believe BF1 is way better in terms of gameplay and community. When playing BF1, you just feel clean happy fun, I've only encountered a hacker once and the randoms I was playing with all decided to type out their opinion on chat ( without any stupid filters, ahem BFV ) and they all left together leaving the hacker alone which just shows how good the BF1 community is to this day. My experience in BFV was just me getting sniped literally every few seconds, and having to spend 85% of my time running to the objectives in open fields and ofcourse, getting sniped as usual. The maps are way too big and actual fun action can't really be achieved. The only thing I enjoyed in BFV was the fact that there are no hackers in it, or atleast I think so.
@@Covid-bv4hp if you're on console you dont have to worry about hackers, but yes battlefield is where it is. Just better all round play and funner with the challenge. Cod become to easy after 30min of playtime I sink back into an old groove.

This is one of the reasons why I think dice and battlefld has a better release schedule. Although I like both series equally, each company could learn from the other.

Mw3 brought in specialist class and redefined the killstreak system it allowed you to be 3 different ways it also brought in godly mods like kill confirmed infected and the mw3 survival was amazing plus it also changed the way you rank up your guns instead of the system mw2 used in which it was better mw3 is slept on so much

Modern Warfare 2019 is probably my favorite Call Of Duty of all time, and it's given me some of my best internet memories of all time. That said, I loved Cold War when it came out. The campaign was terrible and boring, but the multiplayer was extremely fun and so was the zombies. Both of those game modes were extremely fun and while I didn't enjoy it as much as Modern Warfare, it happily took the place of Modern Warfare until I got bored of both games and moved on. People love to hate on Cold War but it was actually really fun

What about remaking older WW2 titles then? Seeing them with today's graphics would give a completely different feel.
So I'm absolutely fine with developers making WW2 games as it is one of my favorite topic from human history and as long as they are historical, which Vanguard isn't. COD WW2 was fine, but that was only covering the Western front. I'd love to see another COD game like World at War.
For me at least just too many other games I’m more interested in coming out this year, it’s pretty sad really because I thought this time around sledgehammer would’ve learnt from there last ww2 cod but it seems to have just gone backwards. Even just the thought of no factions makes me feel like they aren’t even trying.
I’m mostly excited for Halo this year. It looks fantastic. I might try 2042 but $70?!

@@MtpMuzik What I hate about Warzone other than the hackers, is the armor plates and the downing system. Remember when everyone b*tched about Juggernaut and Last Stand in CoD 4 and WaW? Now people are okay with Warzone having an amped up version of those perks. Armor plates make it so then only the meta weapons are viable and the last stand is terrible how they are invincible when they are going down and they have full health when they are downed

Because it's a controller, if it doesn't feel good i get frustrated, like playing CoD mobile, quickly uninstalled because it felt like playing robots on the bottom of the ocean and a lot of confusing menus
This is why I don't find warzone fun especially when you have to cheat

@@str8buster144 advanced warfare was the last good cod, the only reason people didn't like was cuz "muh futuristic bad" bo3, ghost, iw, bo4, were all dogshit compared to infinite warfare, it had the best futuristic gameplay out of all futuristic cod(I don't consider bo2 futuristic).

I like how the narrator straight up forgets or didn't even know the fact that, the 80% of Infinity Ward developers stood up from the table after Modern Warfare 2 and founded Respawn entertainment and went to EA, boom there goes the Titanfall. Wow, IW forget how to make CoD and the result were Modern Warfare 3. Yeah, no surprise.
Thing I hate about CoD is how people moan about “urghh new CoD is so bad.” “New CoD isn’t like MW/BO (1 & 2)” all they do is spend their time complaining about how bad the new cods are & how great the old ones (basically begging to re play them) so why don’t they just re install them on their Xbox (whatever console you’re on) an replay these games that they praise. But no they just repeat this cycle of moaning about new CoD praising old CoD - continuing the play the CoD they hate. This just baffles me
You've said MW3 was beginning of the decline. I disagree. Black Ops 2 was innovative. They changed killstreaks into scorestreaks, classic create-a-class system was changed into Pick-10 system, Zombies had maps with interactive elements. BO2 is considered the best COD by majority of people.
Although MW3 wasn't that innovative, they've made Specialist - perks instead of killstreaks and after 8 kills without dying you get Specialist bonus which gives you all the perks and makes you a super soldier basically.
The real decline started with Call of Duty Ghosts

Can’t agree more, Ghost was the first cod to flop really hard, the only word to describe it is “forgettable”, nothing even slightly good came from it.
