Why, he was applying equal pressure on both. Because the cheaper one was worse, and the grinder wasn’t coarse enough, it made his hand go back and fourth.
The cheap might’ve lost, but it works
It didnt even really loose. The Dremel comes with a better bit and the cheap tool comes with a worse one. Buy better tips or bits for the chap rotary tool and it will be nearly the same. (At least in this test. I think the dremel will be better for cutting and sanding metals)

Doesn't matter the tool, use the same sanding bit and they'll do the same in the test.
Yeah just matters about rpm at that point & stability on the object being tested
I actually can't agree, as the stability of the sanding tool within the sander on the right seemed compromisd. It left a wider after image and was harder to hold straight despite using both hands and have a clear eye line. It's probably a flaw with the rpm being beyond what it can handle or maybe the bit being attached incorrectly?
But generally yeah, if you give it the same sanding bit i'm sure the margin of error wouldn't be too bad. At least you wouldn't know the difference as you didn't buy the other one. Either way, you can just correct yourself with time and practice.

As a machinist who uses Dremels all the time, I can confirm that a sanding bit is better than a flapper bit

My friend asked me what tool I'd pick if I could harness the power of any tool. I told him I'd choose the Dremel. I can cut, polish, clean, ect it's just such a good tool that most don't even use.
I use one for jade carving , only down side is it's an internal motor and needs brushes replaced every 60hours of use

Making sure the variables are consistent? You're telling me that I have to do the test making sure that the pencils are the same exact length, are clamped down to avoid any movement and do the tests one at a time with the same dominant hand I'd use the tool in, after it rests a while to be the same strength, steadiness and all that?
