I am amazed at Kai's ability to teach and simutaneously critique himself concerning analyzing what he thinks he is doing vs how IS doing and how that looks. Wow, what a great teaching kindess of spirit.
This is what true bodybuilding is. It is not about how much you lift, it is the art and science behind developing each muscle group to the fullest potential! Kai has become my favorite IFBB PRO.
I would show this video to all the people at the gym who use more weight than they should have to. Then they cry about the lack of improvement of course. My chest were my weak point genetically. I've been using Kai's technique for months and it works flawlessly. So big thanks to you Kai!
Haters going to hate. I feel Kai has a very Zen like approach to body building. He is a great teacher, his legacy will be about his ability to put into words, the great art of bodybuilding.
i love how he makes the weight training session a mental thing i pictured it feels like yoga with weight and stress so i know yoga feels great i will try to implement that to weigh training.
Look at how much his bar path improved when he switched over to thumbless. After converting successfully to thumbless on the OHP i have decided to go thumbless on bench as well. With chalk and a dry bar it's very secure. Screw these people who keep on saying "never use thumbless" as if they're talking to 13 year olds.
Hendrix Allen Totally agreed on that,, he is shown to be the complete opposite of my first impression of him... This guy is such a great idol in person as in bodybuilding.
That guy should have listened to Kai more. I've only been weight training for a month and a half and I know that the most important thing is form, therefore it frustrated me a little watching this. When a showcase bodybuilder isn't listening to Kai Greene and not getting the most out of what he's doing it makes me think of the goals I can reach and how I can reach them. Kai Greene KNOWS what he's talking about, LISTEN, WATCH & LEARN!!! :)
im 16, been lifting for about 4 months now and one of the first things i learnt about benching was to go all the way down to your chest with the bar, i dont think this guy is weak just that he never learned to go all the way down, so his chest wasnt used to it, honestly expected him to do 135 (or 60 kg if you're from the UK like me) a little easier though
I can assume the person with the negativity on here, is prolly the man with a gut, embarrased to take his shirt off in public, hating on the man who keeps fit, blaming them of steroid use or what not. face it buddy, your girl would rather have a fit man then a fat blob.lol. twinkee? sure.
I started weight training on my 3.5kg dumbells. Then I went to the gym at March 2013 and decided to lift heavier weights. Because I needed to get bigger.
remember the first time i hired a personal trainer.. he made me do it right and damn! i couldn't lift weights i used to warm up with. Ab crunches with the dude were hell.. all that squeezing and exhaling..
Mostly Kai spews broscience but sometimes he is right on point like at 13:00 about bringing the bar to your chest to activate it. And about half reppers having no chest.
u think kai green puts 135 on the bar and trys to rep it 600 times.. no he puts on a weight he can do for 8 reps or so which is probably alot he got there from progressive overload (and roids)
So many ppl lifting to much that they cant even handle the wheigt. Nope its all about form not the weight. For powerlifting wheigt is all but not for bodybuilding.
I do want to improve on my chest. I will take Kai's advice and stop with ego lifting. Instead focus on contracting my chest with lighter weight's. Thanks mate. 😀
I really think that in order for Kai to take down Heath, Kai has to shed a little more weight. He can easily do it, and even though bodybuilding is now a mass sport, Phil's definition is the reason why he's a 4 time champ
dont chew gum when working out, your body thinks its about to get a meal worth of glucose and lowers your blood glucose. where as you really need high glucose, your hypertrophied muscles definitely NEEDS this during this time!- little things add up, right? just a suggestion, saw kai chewing through out the video
3-5 if you just want strength...like powerlifters . 6-8 if you're into mass 8-12 if you want mass and slight definitions any more than 15-25 are strictkly definition . If you're into body building : Do 4 sets 1) Warm up with what ever you can do 15 2) add more pounds 8-12 3)add more pounds 8 4) add more pounds...do 6 for mass I only know about body building routines . Hope this is helpful .
Don't listen to Ronnie Tan. Rep ranges cannot be cut so rigidly like that. For natural lifters, like most people, you want to be anywhere in between 4-15. There are two different ways that your muscles grow. First, blood being pumped into your muscles, creating that "pump". Second, the micro-tears in your muscles grow larger muscle cells. So, as long as you are fitting those two criteria, your muscles will grow. Now, of course, comparing a set of 4 to a set of 15 will get you different results, but that isn't the point. The point is, lifting almost any number of rep ranges will get you mass. In fact, the "15-25 are strictkly definition" is not even close to right. The only way to get definition is to have a lower bodyfat. You can't "define" your muscles like that. Be critical of everything you hear from people, especially regarding bodybuilding. Here are some tips to get huge. The only time you need to worry about rep ranges is if you are juicing. Higher rep ranges for BBers that are juicing are ideal because the drugs typically make the "pump" much greater in the gym. So a rep of 30 does wonders for juicing BBers, but won't do much for you, other than some cardio and endurance. 1) EAT FOOD. 60% of muscle building happens in the kitchen. If you don't eat enough, you won't grow. Eat natural, whole foods. Find you TDEE( there are calculators to find it all over the internet), and eat 300 calories above that number. 2.) LIFT- Lift hard, lift smart. Don't fall into the rep ranges BS. Just make sure you are doing a decent number of sets with a heavy weight. Muscles usually need around 50+or-15 reps to get a good growth response. That is like 2 exercises with the typical 8x3 (8 reps for 3 sets). You can go higher or lower than that, but BBing wise, you don't want extremely low reps. Plan your sets and reps accordingly. 3.) SLEEP- Should be self explanatory. Get your 8 hours a night.
I don't get why Kai bashed him at 9:55 and said "this is light ass weight", and then proceeded to claim that basically the amount of weight doesn't matter, and you don't need to worry about pushing weight to impress anyone. If the latter part is true, why would he say "this is light ass weight" in the first place?
Can anyone help me ? im 3 months into my weight training and my chest is getting bigger.. but since a kid ive suffered from Pectus Carinatum/Pigeon Chest which is a flat chested deformity and it kind of went inwards a little bit.. now as my chest gets bigger its leaving a bigger dint like gap in the very middle of my chest between the muscles, instead of looking like the right an left muscles are square an connected theres a gap !! i go sauna and steam room after workouts and seeing other chests is making me feel uneasy with mine.. if anyone understands and has advice its appreciated !
This feels beyond just gaining some muscle.. Kai's Workouts are more Mind-Body Therapies
Kai is a smart dude, I thought he was gonna be some stupid meathead but he's actually really intelligent
I definitely agree with you. In this video, he articulates himself extremely well. I learned a great deal just by listening to Kai.
I am nobody but I am impressed with the way Kai puts things in simple words but very deep thoughts!!!
I am amazed at Kai's ability to teach and simutaneously critique himself concerning analyzing what he thinks he is doing vs how IS doing and how that looks. Wow, what a great teaching kindess of spirit.

Somehow he makes broscience sounds like actual science.
im 16, been lifting for about 4 months now and one of the first things i learnt about benching was to go all the way down to your chest with the bar, i dont think this guy is weak just that he never learned to go all the way down, so his chest wasnt used to it, honestly expected him to do 135 (or 60 kg if you're from the UK like me) a little easier though
Lifting IS a way of life, thats the truth. Its all bout being in contact with your muscles, physically and mentally.
No it's not. Stop exaggerating a hobby.
Dr.Spaceman bodybuilding is a form of art, entertainment, a sport, and a way of life.
kai greene
Art. Fart.
Dr.Spaceman so you think arnold looked like shit in his time? It's art to sculpt your body
I can assume the person with the negativity on here, is prolly the man with a gut, embarrased to take his shirt off in public, hating on the man who keeps fit, blaming them of steroid use or what not. face it buddy, your girl would rather have a fit man then a fat blob.lol. twinkee? sure.

Kai is handing out pure gold. It can't be easy to be his student, but the payoff is huge.
Kai Greene your a beast
kai sounds like a philosopher more than a bodybuilder lol
Kai gets really deep when talking about bodybuilding. He's like a fucking professor when it comes to lifting.

how many times do u see a guy that benches 315 with no chest, idiot

Many times ppl lifting alot but dont have much chest.
u wont get a big chest benching 135 lbs for reps thats a fact
u think kai green puts 135 on the bar and trys to rep it 600 times.. no he puts on a weight he can do for 8 reps or so which is probably alot he got there from progressive overload (and roids)

They portray him like a god when they play holy music at 25:50
