When he said,when you lift heavier weight than you should be,( and not that you're not capable of lifting it) you tend to loose focus of the goal of breaking down the muscle and the slow eccentric and squeeze at the top and tend to focus on just moving the weight. Honestly Samson was dropping some great advice. Bodybuilding isn’t about being strong, it’s about growing the muscle in the most efficient way possible. “Do you want to be strong, or do you want to be grow muscle”. Took notes from this.

    👏🏾Excellent video!🔥🔥🔥Dope to see Samson in coaching mode. I always tell guys genetics is one thing & does mean alot, but when you look at these dudes at the top of the sport there's definitely a method to the madness that isn't just simply lifting heavy weight, great form with a great stretch & great contractions will always build a great physic!💯💯💯

  • @patrick_marsh2
    @patrick_marsh2 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I really like how Samson explained chest going heavier. You’re incorporating shoulders. We use our shoulders and arms on a daily basis. Our shoulders are more dominant. I noticed when I go heavy my front shoulders start to hurt. And get super tight. But when I go lighter my shoulders do not hurt or feel tight like a pump at all. Because I’m able to isolate just my chest muscles. Even if you contract your chest good. Say 80% chest and 20% shoulders help to push the heavier weight. You’re not getting maximum chest growth. I try so hard to explain this to people. Heavy weight means nothing. If you want to build a good physique or you want to be a power lifter is two different things. But by going lighter. Really isolating the chest muscles 100% chest front delts 0% after a while if you want to go heavy to just see. I have always increased my strength by going lighter actually isolating my chest in full with lighter weights more reps. And then max out and it makes it so much easier.

    Kind of a confirmation that hypertrophy stems from exhaustion: might be the best workout video I ever saw

    • @drmvp21
      @drmvp21 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Muscle hypertrophy is caused by creating muscle damage. Micro damage to the muscles. But to create this muscle damage after the body has adapted and grown from it becomes increasingly difficult. That’s why some guys go years and make no changes even though they are training consistently. Your body protects itself from these repeated muscle damages. Your job is to try and find ways to create new damage and adaptations by varying training and diet to confuse the body.

    Samson is such an educated person. I’ve been preaching this kind of movement (mind to muscle) for years to many people at the gym. We grow under resistance. Drop sets are also very effective to get maximum pump. Was never about the weight. Heavy weights will only cause long term injuries. Funny how life is though.. people listen to a giant bodybuilder but won’t take advice from a man who is smaller than them. This video was a breath of fresh air.. kudos to Sam for absorbing what Samson was explaining 🙏

  • @schlagboy
    @schlagboy 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

  • @gnap-x
    @gnap-x 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Best advise “your body does not know or care what the number of the weight is” that’s all ego and caring what other people think. Sam is big and strong, but he still has a lot to learn when it comes to the movement and form if he wants to stay injury free and make more gains. You can also tell by how tight he is, he can’t get into certain poses right because he has no range of motion.
