Hello! Please advise me the best Mini-Led TV with excellent picture quality, contrast and sound? I am considering the brand Sony, LG, Samsung, some of them are the best models.
Funai has the North American Philips license, and TP Vision has the Philips license for the rest of the world. I doubt that TP Vision will be able to sell its TVs in North America unless it uses a different brand, and setting up a whole new sales network for a new brand in North America from scratch is quite an expensive challenge that probably won’t turn a profit when there are so many other budget tier brands with big sales networks to compete against like Hisense, TCL, Vizio, and Funai’s Philips.
@@jnvivian So, if I’m understanding this correctly, they are pretty much two completely different companies that are Philips in name only and can only operate under the name Phillips in their parts of the world.
How do you think they compare to the third generation QD-OLED panels announced by Samsung also said to be capable of 3000 nits? Also, why all this focus on peak brightness rather than full white brightness? I have a very, very bright room and my TV will be behind the mirror that blocks a decent bit of light. So I really need a lot of practical brightness and exactly 55” to fit in the hole in the wall, no bigger. Do I simply have to use a mini-LED, or will the 2024 OLEDs finally be bright enough? Because I really like the look of this OLED technology better every time I compare them to backlit LCD crystals, even the best most modern mini LED backlight arrays… I just need more brightness.

Can anyone suggest a tv that only caters for watching TV in all conditions as the priority?? Thanks
Funai sells cheap Philips TV's under license in the US. The real Philips TVs are made by TP vision who bought the TV division from Philips along with all facilities, so although a Chinese company, Philips TVs are still developed in the Netherlands and manufactured in the EU (Poland). Unfortunately TP vision can't sell Philips TVs in regions where funai owns the brand, like the US and Australia
It's so deceptive to refer to an OLED as bright. Tell me what it's full field peak brightness capabilities are. I bet it can't even touch 300 nits which is pathetic. AV reviewers are so disingenuous, they don't show you the whole picture, just what the manufacturers want you to see.
Plus they go on about "improvement" in brightness every year, as if differences aren't pretty much negligible. This channel makes it sound like every new model is much better than the previous.
As a Philips 77oled937 owner I truly don’t get the 2024. The “flagship” is now 65 inch max with 3 sided ambilight. While mid range 909 is up to 77 inch with 4 sided ambilght. Can’t figure the logic behind this.
Like Vincent said, they're doing some sort of lense array on the over the LEDs. Could very well be BS that one more side "would cost too much" but there is clear logic here
I got a 55inch OLED phillips ambilight (I’m in the UK) for £899 and thought it was plenty bright enough frankly. The picture is nice for sure. I’m now preparing to send it back after a few days though as I just can’t justify the cost and I’m a poor man. I was legit considering keeping it obviously but primarily wanted to treat myself to an exercise in tasting something I probably. And afford. I was impressed but not completely blown away to the point I cannot possibly go without it.. Ideally I’d love to keep it though and the technology is impressive. And I can’t imagine what the tech shows when you start paying in excess of £2k and £4k..

Do you understand that you are an exception to the rule. I guess 99% of most people need no more than the 4 ports provided. So is it logical to demand a more expensive TV's because YOU want more. If you watch movies at night, is 3000 nits not going to feel insanely bright? I struggle with my qd oled on anything more than 50% brightness on an evening. Is it just me or are these brightness levels meant for brighter rooms?
No. A typical LCD will still have brighter 100% window. 3000 is only at peak 1%, or as advertised 4%. It's very small details. Besides, how we perceive brightness nits does not work like that. You will not feel the same impact going from 1000 to 2000 as you do from 300 to 800. It will still be the best for dark rooms. It's not even close to real life brightness outside or how bright your lamps can get. Just try looking at them directly.
that weird moment when the single entry level chip has more connection inputs than dual "flagship" chips lmao Also, what's the point of the 959 compared to the 909? I doubt that TP Vision will be able to sell its TVs in North America unless it uses a different brand, and setting up a whole new sales network for a new brand in North America from scratch is quite an expensive challenge that probably won’t turn a profit when there are so many other budget tier brands with big sales networks to compete against like Hisense, TCL, Vizio, and Funai’s Philips.
@@jnvivian So, if I’m understanding this correctly, they are pretty much two completely different companies that are Philips in name only and can only operate under the name Phillips in their parts of the world.
Any info about panels in Hisense OLED models for 2024 ?
Is the 959 a real dual pentonic 1000 chip? Or is it just a pentonic 1000 with more than an AI engine?
United States has left the chat
Is there an option without the soundbar?
1:30 is the Detail Enhancer Feature exclusive to the dual-chip 959 or also coming to the 909?
@momorious: The Detail Enhancer feature is implemented by LG Display on the upgraded MLA+/ META 2.0 panel, and so will be present on both the Philips 959 & 909.
@@hdtvtestwhy don't you understand or if you do, ask the TV makers to address the laughable full white brightness? All this race for going for brighter things on the 3% window is infuriating asf when we need to create a cave to see things in full white 😂🤡. At least they are going for 200 nits now, maybe in 2030 we will get a ~350 nits full white and 1000 peak 25% (just described the perfect oled).

3% window, not 10%? At super high/inaccurate white point? Why even report the claim that it can do 3000 nits when it is effectively BS?
I want display ports on tv's also.
The Pioneer Kuro series had that. Well, physically at least.
Hi guys, I'm not a gamer, can I ask, why tv makers have to make tv's with a game bars??
The 909 959 amazing tv's, but I wonder if they could have added a variation that didn't have gamers in mind and add more tv watching experience tech instead??
Can anyone suggest a tv that only caters for watching TV in all conditions as the priority??
Thanks
I don't need 4 HDMI 2.1 ports, I actually just need 3 but no one offers just 3 ;)
You would need one and a half Pentonics for that.
LGW OLED only had three 😂
2hdmi 2.1ports is enough as long as none of them is eArc as well.
I really, really wish Philips sold TVs in the USA :(
yeah its highly annoying that theres no ambilight OLEDs available in the USA, I'd be a day 1 buyer
Guys need advice, should i get LG C3 now or wait for C4 ?
Get the Philips 809 or Panasonic z85a, it's the same panel but better implementation
Could very well be BS that one more side "would cost too much" but there is clear logic here
LG is coming for the crown this year LG G4 should be KING OF 24 OLED

Philips 909 vs lg g4
Hangisini almalıyız ?
Right, at this point if people are still complaining that 3000nits isn't bright enough. Please go stare at the sun.
Vincent, any help/talk with Samsung regarding the Blackouts on the S90/S95C? It is not only for Pc gamers but also Console players...people are "afraid" if the 2024 tv will have same issues...any update on this from your side? Maybe a video?
Most likely cables or drivers imho.
Just noticed this on my friend's new s90c! Really weird and super annoying! Definitely not a cable problem.
@@pinocleen No, as for example with the standard Ps5 HDMI cable it works without problem on a LG CX Tv, but on Samsung S95C it has black outs
@@giogamer4825 My Samsung TV blackouts stopped ever since I've replaced my expensive, ultra-high speed 4k hdmi cable with FIBBR brand optical product.
They are also very sensitive to cable length, and many don't work properly when over 1.5 meters, part of the problem is that certifications process only tests them at 1m lengths..
@@PaulC-xv4zr Nope, it's also on the S90C. So it has nothing to do with the one connect box. It's definitely software related.

This is all good and well but Philips TVs are not available in the United States.
You can buy Philips in Canada but not OLEDS...

Why philips not marketing tv in bangladesh market
5 years on and they are still playing catch up! If they moved the eArc over to one of the hdmi 2.0 ports it would make life easier for those who need the 2 * 2.1 ports..
no they can't do that because then it makes your high end receiver worthless. For people with receiver with hdmi 2.1 they need the EARC port to be hdmi 2.1.
My philips 855 oled as all hdmi ports as arc ports so you can use all of them
@@hELLLcs my old Yamaha rx2070 avr was hdmi 2.0b and a firmware upgrade made it eArc, so I can’t see why it’s not do-able

I actually need 5 HDMI 2.1 ports (really four plus one HDMI 2.0). My Sonos Arc, PS5, Apple TV, and Switch all are plugged into my C2, while my Series X (the least used of my components) is relegated to being in the office connect to the CX I use as my gaming PC monitor. @@smashterpiece that’s why I said I really need four 2.1s and one 2.0 (for the Switch), but it’s the family room TV and the Switch is by far the most used console we own… so the Series X got the boot.

My new Samsung 65" S95C OLED TV, experiences seemingly random 2-5 second drop outs of both video and audio while trying to play PlayStation 5. I have tried multiple certified 2.1 HDMI cables in multiple ports on my One Connect Box, and this has not changed the situation. When connecting to ps5 I experience black screen and no signal situation when game mode on is prompt . I'm not alone on this either, as there are several people on Reddit who are also mentioning experiencing the same issue.
Nice hat Vincent.
I mean, I have all the devices (PS5, Xbox and PC), but I just connected it to my Denon AVR-X2800H and an eARC connection - Am I missing anything, if I do not connect them directly? DolbyVision seems to work fine and my display is 120hz, so I should be fine I think.
All at full 48gbps and no cabling issues?
What is HDR format max on that Phillips
Hdr10+
If the color volume cant match qd-oled it wont matter. Lg did say this will boost color volume so lets see.
No 4-sided ambilight - no party, Philips. I’d rather a simpler technology with 4 sides instead of these advanced lights only on 3 sides. And the soundbar making it asymmetric is an eyesore.
Does anybody know if there is a TV with gigabit ethernet yet?
Hi, I’m looking to buy a gaming montitor 32inch for a xbox series x but I’m so confused on which ones are good I want to spend around £1,000 give or take. I care about picture quality… I read that OLEDs don’t have a long life span. Please help thanks
Does that mean philips will have panels with 3k nits, LG will have 2.3k nit pannels? Or maybe first batch for G4/M4 will have 2.3K nit panels, later on we will see newer G4/M4 with 3k nit panels!
the sound quality out of the speaker is incredibly poor on new screens. Record bad sound.
the experience comes from LG OLED.
The weakest TV in their lineup having 4 HDMI 2.1 ports but the flagship TV only having 2 HDMI 2.1 ports is so stupid. 🤣🤣🤣
Wow that's impressiive😊
How I do get my Panasonic 2000 over in the US?? Anyone know?
I cannot stress enough to TV makers - we can never have enough HDMI ports. On my TV alone I need 7.
Cap
Do you understand that you are an exception to the rule. I guess 99% of most people need no more than the 4 ports provided.
So is it logical to demand a more expensive TV's because YOU want more.
Or is it more logical that you and the rest of the 1% buy an HDMI-switcher?
Some will love to see:
-more Ypbpr ports and or more RCA connectors
-A DP port
-better speakers
But most won't.

😂what! Why wouldnt they buy a qdoled and then buy a very nice soundbar and still have money left. Philips TVs are nice and ambilight is excellent but they're wRGB panels, average HDR, average to bad gradation handling and white sub pixel colour dilution at high brightness. I suspect also auto logo dimming (but I'm guessing there) still, as nice a tv as you have there's markedly better options for less

When you get a chance, please do a video on the best Picture settings for ps5 and series x for the lgc3
These will be great living room tv's but I just don't see me putting this in my dark bedroom.
that weird moment when the single entry level chip has more connection inputs than dual "flagship" chips lmao
Also, what's the point of the 959 compared to the 909? I only se an increase in the speaker channels and that's it, so better audio? Buying a standalone soundbar could be a good alternative if the price is high

Hi Vincent, which tv would you recommend for the same price:
Samsung S95B or Panasonic LZ1000?
Philips TV blocked it's customers to stop pixel shift no point buying any Philips TV other brands allowed it's customers to do this change it's a deal breaker cause you will see your movie watching a black bar after an hour on your Philips TV.
I dont mind it and its actually to keep your tv in perfect condition for longer. Its probably still in the developer settings.
Really? They had to keep costs under control by cutting a bottom row of RGB LEDs used for the built-in bias lighting? Lol sounds like BS
this high nit/lumen HDR TV-s ruin your eyes permanently, try to use them at the lowest brightness that is still comfortable...
How do you know ??
Philips is an overnight sensation type of brand. Vinny will talk about it enthusiastically for a short time then completely lost track of it for the rest of the year 😢

How the hell multi thousand tvs cant do it.
“5.1.2 integrated sound system discreetly housed within the TV‘s chassis” - sure, that’s totally what 5.1.2 means. 😅
Regrettably making the picture brighter still doesn't improve its ability to reproduce the wider colour gamut that QD-OLED are capable of.
I keep hearing « The OLED Plasma » Pick a technology already 😂
