Long time fan of the channel. By most accounts the biggest upgrade on the G4 from the G3 is the new cpu and the availability of an 83 inch MLA TV. Some of the perks of the G4 are, the interface is more responsive, better motion and picture processing. It's probably their biggest marketing angle for the TV since the industry seems to be more focused this year on video processing and of course brightness. Omitting this information is not fair to your audience. Is that worth the difference in price or is it actually better is another matter altogether.

Hi there couldn't help to comment on this due to myself being a big fan of av forums here in the UK indeed it was them who persuaded myself to go for my Panasonic oled tvs and I've not looked back since. Now Phil did say in this video if you have a g3 I wouldn't bother with the g4 did he not? he also makes the point in most of his reviews it's what you want from a TV and to get the best demo before hand before making your final decision also how little there is between all of the top tvs when looking at them with the naked eye and not on TH-cam. I've recently seen both LG g4 and Samsung 95d and although it was in a shop not the best place I can hand on heart say there was as near NO DIFFERENCE IN THE CONTENT I SAW . Also I use filmmaker mode with intelligent sensing with my Panasonic jz2000 for all content and I can say once again hand on heart the picture is superb and I'd put it up against both qdoled and mla and and even though it's old tech it would hold its own as would my previous Panasonic the gz2000. I admire the fact you point out the cost of living here in the UK it's no different but no one wether it's av forums ect puts a gun to peoples head and forces them to buy the products also am I right in saying qd oled aren't perfect.
I agree that the G4 isn't that much better than the G3 , not worth the upgrade but is you own a TV that's 4 or 5 years old you have the option to save a bit if you can buy the G3 over the G4 .
Yay, I guess trolls. Just love to be trolling, I mean an LG destroyed a quantum.TV come on, trolls. Anyway, quantum, hope to see you review the TCL QM7 or QM8 soon, thanks for the updates on this casualty of televisions, G4, no more, G3 meant to be.
I think if you bought either the G4 or the G3 you would be happy. If you can get a G3 for a good price do it. I think it’s not just about brightness between the two being minimal it’s an overall improvement with the new video processor. I have owned both Samsung tvs and LG oleds and I prefer the LGs. I also have been installing TVs for 25 years and still do. I prefer the LG oleds over the Samsung TVs. Something a lot more natural about the image and colours. I also hate the newest Samsung interface. I’d much rather buy a Sony QDOLED or LG G or C series anyday. I installed a Sony last week and straight out of the box on standard broadcast TV it looked amazing. People get too caught up in specifications and brightness. I much prefer natural blacks and think the G4 is easily bright enough. Some TVs can be too bright and give you eye strain.
I would never buy WOLED again. It’s completely pointless to go backwards in technology. I have my. C1 until I have enough money to get my S90D. Thanks as always for being so honest, my man! You make this forever earn its moniker! also I’m very glad you’re back to answering questions! I left one on the last video! 🙌🏼

On paper the S90C is brighter and more powerfull colors. The biggest thing for me is that the Samsung seems to have better motion handling without as much artifacts as the LG. I always push motion Interpolation to the fullest
Makes sense in terms of no colour advancements because it’s still a WOLED! Brightness is pointless if the detail is lost at whatever nits the G4 is marketing!
I just watched a bit of dr strange multiverse of madness on my 85” X95K it looked good. I am now watching the same movie on my Panasonic GZ1000 and it looks great.
I can already imagine, if LG came out with a QDOLED, the people like rtings, digital trends, etc, would be like, "Finally! We have something special folks! LG has brought their first quantum dot oled to their 2025 TV lineup! Why is this important? Well, LG woled with mla are great tvs, Butttt, they lacked the color vibrancy and impact of the qdoled counterparts." And you see where I'm going with this now? Lol. I can already hear Caleb saying what I just was typing above
This is THE most real comment I've read yet. I can hear it now. "Folks i had the chance to see the new 2025 QD-OLED from lg an man is it special. LG had the G4 next to their new QD-OLED panels with mla, and you can just see how much of a difference there is." Stop me if his formula sounds familiar because its too predictable
If there are no significant differences and it's all just marketing, why not go for the G1 since it's essentially the same? XD Samsung is out for me because I can't stand a matte screen 🤿 Plus, I'm not sure if it's the 2024 king of TVs with Sony and Panasonic around the corner. If you've got the money, the G4 is still the best choice for now, especially for gaming and dark scenes in Dolby Vision🎬🏆
LOL, buy a G3. They are nearly the same, but specular highlights are puncher, and game mode is noticeably better, so if you're a gamer, go for the G4. Otherwise, you go with the g3. It's a shame the s95d has a matt finish. Hopefully, next year no more matt finish on the s95
100% agree. Game mode is much better on the G4 which is why I avoided a G3 as it looked quite dull and was poor compared to the A95L and S95C along with the S90C.
👆Samsung, gave up on them so long ago because of the micro stutter in all 50htz content. In Caleb Denison's review of the new flagship Samsung Oled with the "dirty matt screen" he mentioned he saw micro stutter in some content so all these years later (over 10) they still haven't fixed the issue that caused me to stop buying them. 🤪Samsung=We are LG haters that will do anything to be different to them and even put our head in the sand for years like Oled does not exist with our fingers in our ears going LALALALALA. 👆
G4 is a huge upgrade in image quality, the new processor and tone mapping algorithm blows the G3 out of the water. I also demoed G4 side by side with the S95D and S90D. S90D immediately is the dimmest even in dynamic mode with active tone mapping, makes high graded content look flat and washed out. The S95D is much more competitive but the coating just takes away the sharpness when there's any ambient light. The G4 is the clear winner and the only one available in the much more cinematic 83".
You could literally say this about the S95D, S90D, C4, B4 and so on. Most new TV’s are just incremental upgrades from the TV’s the year before, you’re hardly telling us something we don’t already know. If you’re on a budget buy the premium model from last year, and if money is not tight then buy the newest model provided the reviews are positive.
The S95D is over 2100 nits vs 1700 on the S95C. The S90D is also substantially brighter in all the small highlights making sdr more impactful. The C4 is substantially brighter than the c3. The b4 is the only model you can say this with. But notice how most of the models in your rebuttal are lg woled tvs? Lg is outdated.
This is what i find very sad is making multiple videos of the same tv saying it’s not worth it when you don’t even have the set or reviewed it . If you’re making a case to save money and saying get a G3 i get it but no one should be listening to this bias defending my purchase mentality, about it’s not any good this and not worth it that . Some people prefer accurate pictures some not so accurate but more colour , does that mean a tv that provides a preference and not yours means that is not worth it ? How many videos do you have to make until it becomes starts to become an agenda? There’s no such thing as the perfect tv and everyone’s expectations are different. If another creator was saying the same thing about a samsung repeatedly tv you would be calling that out specifically if they haven’t even got the tv or reviewed it and just going on videos off the internet
LG G4 may be CRAP but SAMSUNG SUCKS...... luckily we got the Chinese brands that are starting to dethrone the Giants and bring quality and affordable products for the masses.....AND YES LG is THE KING of PANELS and has the QUALITY for example my mighty monitor Samsung G9 is BULL SHIT compared to the LG I got as a replacement the HDR is awfully on Samsung compared to LG. I know you're a SAMSUNG fanboy! But still.....
I have S90C and C4 and not huge difference with colours your talking about, see a different when kids watch cartoons. I watch sports,Netflix and RTE . Dolby vision makes Netflix better on LG 4, sports looks better on LG4 more realistic and better motion , RTE is same on both.
Only things that matter is how the display is far away from Sony’s reference/mastering monitor as accuracy goes (especially when it’s about consuming movies from different sources, let’s put aside sports, tv news and such). As for G3 vs G4, as someone who doesn’t own the G4 and saw it in I suppose was an uncontrolled environment and can’t go and do a real side to side comparison, why would people should listen to you over professionals like HDTVtest or people at Rtings… As for technology, there are always pros and cons, it’s good that not everybody follow the same path. We need them to fight for us so we get the best. Samsung has done an incredible job with their Quantum Dot technology. Now let’s not foul ourself with them not buying into Dolby Vision aka the industry standard and locking customers with HDR10/10+ which is sad as it gives the best result. At the end of the day for 99% of people it’s just a TV, and we will laugh at that in 15 years as it will be outdated in every way possible.

I just ordered the 77” g4 for 2900ish in the lg member store. Seemed close enough to the g3 in cost.
I really disliked the s95D at Best Buy. Sony looked worse to me. The s95c looked great in store but the one connect issues scared me away.
Also I can’t stand Samsung downgrading their stuff. I shouldn’t fear software updates.
Hope next time around I’ll get a Qd oled or whatever is the new thing then.
I assume the only notable updates for LG is some small processing improvements over the g3
This video is a troll piece. Hey, he's getting interaction from "fanboys" on each side. mission accomplished for him.
I'll stick with my s90c 77.
A brilliant tv
Have you downloaded the latest firmware to it (1410)
I got the 95 from greentow at release for a pretty good discount. I regret the size as I get motionsickness in video games but rocks for movies.
@sido5857 @Quantum_TV Are y'all not concerned with Samsung nerfing your TV with the updates? 🤷🏿♂️
@@Daywalker78 not really.
I have a g4 on vivid and the colors are amazing I had a g3 this is better yes on low quality youtube videos the videos do look over bright but not on 4k videos thus looks amazing
The scientific numbers don't lie. Its a small upgrade in brightness over the g3 and thats about it
You are incorrect, I have both and the image processing is BETTER in the G4 due to super resolution … and it is Noticeable ! Without doubt
👁👄👁super resolution has been on LG for several years.....
@@Quantum_TV all I can tell you is there is a noticeable difference in detail level and 10-15% brightness difference, that I can see quite clearly easily. And that’s from owning both said televisions, my business partner also has a G3 83 and he said the same …. About my G4
Still don’t have any videos of them side by side why is that so they not let it happen!!? Saw in a large retailer side by side no difference what so ever other than 600 to 700 dollar price lol
100% correct.
Your review any TV good? All TV bad till date?
X900e. S546. Q8fn. H9f. U8g. C1. G2. C2. S95b. S95c. S90d. And the list goes on. But because lg can't compete with QD-OLED you pretend all my reviews are negative.
S90C or C4 (+350€) and why? On paper the Samsung is brighter and has more saturated colors and better motion handling (trumotion with less artifacts)
S90D skip the c.
@@Quantum_TV Thank you my man. The S90D is not available for me right now. I just got a deal for 77 LG C4 for ~ $2100 including taxes however I could get the 77 S90C for ~ $1700. On paper the S90C is brighter and more powerfull colors. The biggest thing for me is that the Samsung seems to have better motion handling without as much artifacts as the LG. I always push motion Interpolation to the fullest
Thanks for informing people Quantum
Any time!
Makes sense in terms of no colour advancements because it’s still a WOLED! Brightness is pointless if the detail is lost at whatever nits the G4 is marketing!
Well said.
Do you think LG is moving on from MLA tech?
Also the bravia 9 will you be reviewing it?
I just watched a bit of dr strange multiverse of madness on my 85” X95K it looked good.
I am now watching the same movie on my Panasonic GZ1000 and it looks great.
So get the Bravia 9 . Correct ? 😊
@@jillbraser9302 I would probably lean toward that but obviously go and see retail and real world content.
the colors are not as pale on g4 as yours, I think you have them set to 10 out of 100 for the purposes of the video and to emphasize the love qdoled😅
These aren't my settings lol they're avforums
LG had the G4 next to their new QD-OLED panels with mla, and you can just see how much of a difference there is."
Stop me if his formula sounds familiar because its too predictable
@@Quantum_TV lmaooo
The LG looks ridiculously washed out now. I'm good with my C2. Any brighter and it just washes out further.
Exactly. Its not worth it.
The video is ridiculous….. the colors on the G3/4 are great. The Samsung is better but worse in other respects….
gaming mode on g3 makes it look washed out, apparently that is fixed on g4, so... ye
There's a huge difference, I own both. Get the G4.
Not a single professional reviewer agrees with you
Samsung TV = trash Software.
Well said‼️‼️‼️‼️ I went from the 3 to the 4 and everything you said is on point.
Half of those captures you’ e taken are off angle 🤦
Its oled lol come on brother be better
💯
S90C or C4 (+350€) and why? On paper the Samsung is brighter and has more saturated colors and better motion handling (trumotion with less artifacts)
😂😂😂 this is not real, especially its comparative images..
Lg has 80% less color lol
Only things that matter is how the display is far away from Sony’s reference/mastering monitor as accuracy goes (especially when it’s about consuming movies from different sources, let’s put aside sports, tv news and such).
As for G3 vs G4, as someone who doesn’t own the G4 and saw it in I suppose was an uncontrolled environment and can’t go and do a real side to side comparison, why would people should listen to you over professionals like HDTVtest or people at Rtings…
As for technology, there are always pros and cons, it’s good that not everybody follow the same path.
No interest in listening to bashing TH-cam reviewers and TV with little noticeable difference
