Socrates is saying this text to the judges when he was facing death sentence.

This Statement is utmost wise and is displayed via the video edit, why question the statement when you love it when it is delivered through star wars?

This really hit me more than the others... The connection between her words and the scenes he chose was perfect. And I always felt like these are the words Anakin wanted to say to his loved ones. He wanted to say ''Don't leave me'' to Ahsoka in that scene, he wanted to say he was sorry and he loved them to his mom and his wife, on Mustafar he wanted to say ''Help me'' to Obi Wan. (And that was actually a deleted dialogue). Not to mention the things Luke wanted to say after he lost everything to this nephew... Kreia is right, they chose silence at the end. But still, as a viewer, we felt all of those moments.

I mean it's essential that people value life and fear death other wise people would just lay down and die. Our life gets meaning from the thought of death. I think what Socrates was kinda saying is that we as humans always assume what we think we know, to be right when in reality we really know nothing.

For someone who hates the force, Kreia gives one of the best descriptions of it I've ever heard in Star Wars.

Your reactions are genuinely reactions. You react and give your own viewpoint with arguments that can hold up under scrutiny. This channel is seriously underrated.

We fear death not because of the knowledge of life, but because it's an evolutionary trait. We are biologically programmed to do so (the part where you said there is something inside us, a 'primordial being' of sorts).
For those who don't know, evolution works like this - if a group of organisms 'group A' has a particular trait 'trait A' and the same is true for group B and trait B, group A will eventually surpass group B in population if trait A is more beneficial to survival than trait B (it's obvious if you think about it). So trait A will be said to have become an evolutionary trait.
Fear of death works like that. If a certain group is not afraid of death at all, they will also not take any major precautions against death and die more easily. Thus fear of death becomes an evolutionary trait.
This is why we are afraid of death - because we have evolved to be like that. It has nothing to do with death being 'bad', or things like loss, loneliness and so on.
What Socrates said is basically that we should overcome our own evolutionary instincts. Of course, Darwin had not proposed the theory of evolution back then.

I think it's odd by Dudu to drop a quote, out of context, for an audience, who probably hasn't read the Apology by Plato. It makes him come of as if Socrates was an edgy emo who scratched his wrist. Sure, it strengthens your ethos to put up the father of philosophers, but logically speaking, you scratch your head. xD "..what?!?!" He he.
    Context:
The quote is part of a larger paragraph of the Apology. Search "Strange, indeed, would be my"
His friends were ofcourse calling death the worst of all evils, so in the end he explained why you shouldn't fear death.
"Let us reflect in another way,"
    Apology by Plato.

Hey man, no need to apologize for having real reactions in a reaction video. It was nice to see someone break that down. I feel the same way about a lot of the stock philosophical arguments that get thrown around to try to convince people that death is totally fine and we shouldn't worry about it or, god forbid, try to find a way to maybe extend the time we get to live. So yeah, I was totally on board with calling BS on Socrates there. In fact... you know what, now I'm curious so I'll ask for a reaction to CGP Grey's "Why Die?" at th-cam.com/video/C25qzDhGLx8/w-d-xo.html .
Anyway, on a non-weird-philosophical note: Good star wars reaction as always. :)
