Arcann was a pretty good antagonist turn hero if you redeem him

you survive getting stabbed but the fight shown after it is from a different fight

What happens with Arcann depends on what you do as a player. He can either be redeemed to the light, or he can be condemned and die on the dark side seeking revenge. There's a lot of mashup in these of conflicting paths, probably just because different little moments come out that highlight the characters. Senya's "May Izax save my son" comes after she dies trying to save him if you condemn him, for example, but then it goes into a bunch of stuff that only happens if you redeem him. I don't mind too much. The little character moments from different paths are interesting to see. :)

She only survives because 1. she's you, the player and 2. Valkorion saves her otherwise yes, she would've died from that gaping wound lol.

You can kill Arcan or keep him alive and then he will help you fight against Vailin and Tenebre.You can even romance him.
