- This one CLEARLY left me awestruck and speechless. This was phenomenal. Kinda disappointed in my inability to formulate proper commentary because this video is truly an incredible tribute and analysis of Anakin's downfall. Sorry you guys had to stare at my gaping mouth the entire time, but I was truly just in shock the entire time!

I remember reading the novelization a long time ago. I never thought I'd actually hear someone make a video about it.
It always made Anakin's tragedy even more sad in my eyes. He was declared a hero not just because of his bravery and leading his troops to victory, but because he actually wanted to save people. Be it troopers who were pinned down in a fire zone, or slaves held by the Separatists to manufacture their droids, he just couldn't leave anyone behind to die. And in the end, his compassion became his undoing.
reminds me a bit of Arthas in W3. although i do find Anakin's character being better written overall(more time to develop). still... always gonna be a sucker for the story of the hero, who due to tragedy turned villain.
No. His selfishness and obsession about being The Hero™ became his undoing.
Anakin Skywalker had to save everyone every time. They couldn't save themselves. Others couldn't save them. He wouldn't allow it.
Watch Episode II and look how he reacts to everyone in Shimi's life. He didn't care about his mother, he only cared that he didn't get to be her savior. So every last Tusken man, woman, child, and dog had to suffer for His Dream not coming true.
Look at the Holocron Heist Arc in TCW. Bolla Ropal literally preferred to die rather than endanger one child on that list, one person the Jedi Order, or one soldier in the Grand Army of the Republic.
Anakin was willing to sacrifice every one of his clone soldiers, his Apprentice, every child on that list, and anyone else that he possible could all for the chance of being The Man Who Captured Cad Bane.
I think, truly, Anakin’s story is the greatest of any character, ever. In the entire history of the human race, of all the mythology and stories we have told through the ages, Anakin’s is the saddest. He was doomed before he was even born.
“It’s just you.”
It was all you. Is you. Only you.
That sums up Anakin so greatly
“There was no dragon. There was no Vader.”
This is all the more beautiful when you realize he turned back to the light when finally became something more than just his pain and regret, when he became a father.
Did i just listen or watched the story of Anakin Skywalker like a bed story or something?!

Highly recommend reading the RoTS novelization and read Rise of Darth Vader by James Luceno back to back because it shows Anakin's struggle and the slow transition into being Darth Vader in the suit.

That was frickin brutal. I've read parts of the Revenge of the Sith novelization but those words put in a video, damn that was painful. It makes you actually understand what it's like for Anakin when he turned to the Dark side and the torment he must feel
Anakin/Darth Vader is by far my favorite character. This tribute is one of my favorites for Anakin/Darth Vader.

I’ve been doing alright a bit better now since I started reading the Ahsoka book. I needed more closure that ending wasn’t enough for me.

Anything with cat reacting to the chosen one, it is an instant watch and this video summarized his mentality and goal in the galaxy, even during the midst of the clone wars, for sure. The novelization really summarized his mentality through his transformation from Jedi to Sith in the midst of the book, and it’s so epic.

I love the Revenge of the sith novelization, i have it on audio book and its like 15 hours. It has tons of those " this is how it feels to be character X.. right now" including one... of Commander Cody, just after receiving order 66 and blasting Obiwan.. highly highly recommended!! Audio books are incredile for the novelization, 10/10. But the book book will do fine as well. Stay safe Cat!

The Revenge of the Sith Novelization isn't *Canon* (there is nothing in it about Ahsoka but something in it about K'Kruhk for example).
However, it did get a Line Edit in all but name from George Lucas and is hugely influential to Star Wars literature.
One video I must really suggest is "Broken 'Heroes'" by DuduFilm. That as well as "Choices" and "Victory and Death" by Darth Porg. All three are amazing videos.
