I've stopped watching. I've been in arguments with black nerd groups over it. They asked me to give my honest "legit criticisms", and I do - nothing about the lead being female, nothing about DEI, just all about the writing and plot. And I still get called a self-hating black person who hates women.

I'll add - I was told that the actress was being "oppressed", and I argued that "no person who is a lead of a star wars franchise project, makes good money, and is still in work, is being 'oppressed' by 'mean comments' on a social platform".
I was responded to by way of saying look at the examples of Kelly Marie Tran and Boyega -- to which I pointed out "How were they oppressed? Kelly simply left twitter, which was a smart move because it's a cesspool, and Boyega himself aired his issues via working with Disney. Both have continued to work, and have had multiple projects immediately after their star wars movies. How are they oppressed? How were their careers impacted when they're still getting work?"
It devolved into changing the subject.
I'm tired of people trying to defend badly written projects with various types x-isms. I really am. It undermines REAL prejudices, and it cheapens actual diversity and actual inclusivity that takes time to actually build well written narratives.

Brother, you're not alone. I'm black myself and have gotten the same treatment on various subjects and issues from blacks as well as anyone of any group that has that sort of worldview and ideology. Has anyone noticed in other Star Wars shows, even on Andor there are always shots of the people operating the ships and you can even see the planets thru their windows like what they see. But in Acolyte there are always these quick animations of the ships and instantly goes back in the ship with no view on the outside, even when somebody is in the cockpit the camera angle is from the window point of view showing the pilot.
Disney is for adult children who dont know which bathroom to use.

You know i have a friend at work who's a massive Star Wars fan. Like got tattoos and everything kind of fan. All the rest were either lambasting the players lack of skill or the manager because he made the decision on which players were taking penalties, rather than letting the players decide for themselves (which backfired because he put Black players who were known for not being great at penalties ahead of White players who regularly took penalties for their club teams so that a Black player had the chance of scoring the winning penalty and it being "a (token) victory for diversity", rather than just letting the best penalty takers go first and probably winning England the trophy).
I just cant understand where the almost 200 million dollars went.. The show wasn't really heavy on effects.. The cast only had one really well known actress (Trinity).. The writers were terrible.. What did all the money get spent on? Where did all the shareholder's money go? At this point it just seems like a Star Wars themed money laundering scheme.
