Well, I just got into a 2017 F80 M3 with 43k miles on it for 48k. I watched the listing like a hawk. It started at 55k and kept dropping. One night it dropped from 50k to 48k. I text the sales guy at 1AM and he set up an appointment for me ASAP in the morning. First one to see it that morning after the price dropped and it was sold, the dealership had 3 appointments set up that day after me for the M3. Prices are starting to drop, have patience.
I also think one of the reasons for the price hikes on the used F8x market is due to not much used F8x in the market as a result of majority of the current F8x drivers/owners are disappointed with the G8x looks and abstaining from it. They are rather holding on to their F8x. So, I don’t think the prices will drop much even after the market corrects itself.
I bought my 2018 m3 last year for $57k. The car back then had 19k miles, i put 15k miles in 10 months and i sold it for $62k with 34k miles. Yes, it’s crazy times.
This is hilarious timing, got a job that gave me a company car and an income that I can afford a M3 and now I don't want to buy one since they are over priced. Just sold my GTI to Carvana so I have a healthy down payment too.. Waiting patiently for now...
Dude holy crap never clicked on your channel but I always see your comments on my channel! This video was honestly really well done, good job! Love your style and creativity 👏
im 17 years old and i have been saving for a decent amount of time now, i plan to buy an f82 next year. i know its not the best decision but you only live once ig
Gonna be the best decision u ever made bro. I bought my f82 m4c telesto edition a few months back and that car completely changed my life, waking up every morning thinking ur gonna drive that beast is the best feeling ever. I also have done a review of it and some pov vids 😅
I bought a $59k 2018 M4 with 30k miles. Bad decision? Probably. Is it and has it been my dream car since it was announced? Yes. Did I find the one in the exact spex I always wanted? (manual, yas marina blue, comp package) Yes.
I bought my 2018 f80 in Marina Blue for 64k with only 12k miles on it, a 100% stock car with no modifications at all. One Owner with clean carfax report. It’s worth to wait, and now it’s a good time to go for it. The longer you wait, the lesser chance u can get a clean M3 stock car. Unless you are looking for some modified or high mileages m3.
Before I got my m4 I rented one out for a week, loved it. Dude who owned it was a scammer he had NO OIL in the engine hoping it would blow up on the trip & Turo/the renter would have to take care of it. Also his wheels were ALL curb rashed BADLY I took pics of everything before I even hopped in the car. Long story short be careful renting cars from Turo make sure you walk around and look at ALL little things don’t just hop in & drive. If I wasn’t a car guy I wouldn’t have noticed that at all
I do understand that.. Not my preference, but due to circumstance right now it has to be on there. In June, I will take it down so the abuse won't be too bad.
This is the video I needed to see in order to get my mind right, I was so close to buying an f80 m3 in this market. Would’ve been such a mistake on my end
I hope you are right and there will be a correction in the used car price soon. If this goes on much longer car companies may get the idea that they can jack up the prices on new cars
I’m on the same boat as you! Picked up a 2020 F83 vert for 68K with only 7K miles :) - literally brand new. But I don’t believe car market will correct anytime soon. If you want to wait it will be a long one - 2024 maybe even 2025. On another note, inflation is kicking in pretty bad, these new prices might be the new price going forward - unfortunately.
Nice ride! I was torn between getting an F83 or my F80! Yeah, that is my worst fear that it never corrects. I wish our incomes would reflect the crazy inflation xD
@@sebastianromero420 he's right. It will take over a year for the chip shortage to reach pre pandemic levels and barely correct itself. There is no way all these dealers will hold all these overvalued cars. They would all go bankrupt. Thus it will have to normalize over time. 2 years min for sure
awesome insightful video. Been jumping around cars for a while and now looking at an m2c / m3. But yes, 50k for a low mileage m3 is very very possible if we just wait.
I bought my 2016 F80 CPOd with 17K miles for 48K back in 2018. I just traded it in for an X3MC. The dealer is asking for 45K with 87K miles now! Absolutely absurd! Would I have gotten another F80, yes. But not with how the market is right now.
Just picked up a 17' with 35k miles for 53k, just gotta look man, and keep in mind, you dont want anything from 15' as it is first year of f80, and if you can, stay away from 16 too!
Appreciate the great content! I feel like I can relate to you Bcs I’m also in Massachusetts and I just sold my car not by choice long story short lost a little in equity but I Learned depreciation. I’m going to insurance my other car for now I own and save for a BMW I had a 330I m pack 2021 for some weeks it was nice but a in line -4 ehh for the same money I can lease a m340i 20-21Or I’m in a 50k range I can get a used M f80 I do think the years 15-16 are better affordable but like you said if ur spending that much might as well get a newer one with lower miles but ppl run these cars also so not havin warranty and or keeping up w maintenance will run up the cost. I will have to take some 2-3 months to wait for the market to change or ( if I can wait LOL ) and see what’s better option on how I want to buy it. Or what but Ik it’s a BMW 👑👍🏽or Benz c45amg. What do you think any thoughts on this? I’d hear anyone
Hey Zay! I agree with what you are saying however there are still some good cars if you are patient. In example i just bought an 2017 individual color M4 with an MSRP of $92,000 for $55,000. had 34k miles and clean title with all service records. I beleive this is a great deal. I have been looking at M4s since high school and this is considered a good price for even pre covid levels from what I have seen. would like to hear your input
Congrats on the M4! There are certainly deals out there if you look hard enough! That sounds like a good price, but I do think a 17` M4 pre-covid may have been a little cheaper, but not by much :)
Was really hoping to reach 1.5K subs for Christmas! Your help would be GREATLY appreciated!

That hurts to hear! Also, with G80 prices nearing 100k I won't be touching those with a 10 foot pole. That is literally ridiculous.
This one right here. The new G8 is fkin UGLY! F80 is so much more toned and sexier IMO at least.

Look at where we are now. Dropped so much more. 30-40K M3s and M4s are out there with decent low mileage. 😊

The scary part is, if the market corrects itself, demand for F80's is gonna skyrocket. Meaning prices will go back up.

Interesting because if there is ''no oil'' you will receive 30812308 warning flashing signs on your screen.... this is not 1950 car....
These prices are ridiculous out here. Really want an m3 but completely reluctant to pay over 60 k for a low mileage 2018 example.
The used car market is overvalued rn
It really is - it was really tough to choose between an 18 340 or the M3. Both their prices are ridiculous.
I would never be emotionally connected to any new car. I was sad when I sold my e46 m3 back in 2010 but honestly that doesn’t compare to my e36 m3.
Yeah, it’s still an issue now. I’m being patient though.
I’m looking to buy a M4 next year and I definitely don’t mind waiting for them prices to drop. I like the video though 🔥

This is what i needed to hear today. What are your thoughts on the current prices for model 2017-2018 f80’s?
