    I got four seeds germinated this year and planted under cattle panels. Very exciting. No vines yet since I planted them really late. I may get cuttings in the fall to give it a head start next year. Like with the beautiful fig tree, I'm happy just to grow it for ornamental purpose. Fruiting will be bonus of course for passion fruit boba drink is unbeatably good.

    Thank you so much for doing this! I love the flowers on this vine. I’ll be happy just enjoying seeing yours from time to time though if it shoots up runners like that. I get plenty of that with the trumpet vine that was here when we bought our home. 🤪😊
    I hope you get fruit this year. You deserve it having the patience to deal with those runners. 😊 Keep up the great work. Really enjoy your videos.

      Thank you! I haven't minded the runners at all. You should get some too!

    Thanks for the great video! What do you do to prepare the passion vine for winter? I planted a small vine this spring (in Pa zone 7a) and it has grown tremendously! Do I cut it back to the ground? Or do I let it go and it will it die back on its own? Should I prep the ground someway to protect the plant roots underground?

      @deannapostlethwait1968 Thank you for watching my video! I pull the vines down once they die back and lay them on the ground over the roots as a mulch and then cut them back in the spring.

    Nice Video -- i just planted a Passiflora Incarnata in the ground in probably full sunny 75 % of the Day. I am in new Grow Zone 9a, I hope it gets to looking like yours does and its in a place it can spread as much as it like -- but i plan to build a long Trellis for it to grow once it gets more growth on it. And you did teach me things i did not know. Happy Growing!!!!

      Thank you! A long trellis is a great idea! It's going to be gorgeous! If the Incarnata doesn't work, now that you are zone 9a, you are in an area where you might be able to grow Passiflora edulis. That would be amazing, too!

      I’m in 9A as well and just did a whole fence of trellis just for this plant. I can’t wait!

      @@camiele4 Good Luck, the tiny one I planted just over a month ago is already 6 feet tall... Also in 9a Growing Zone. :)

      If you join the Utah Rare Fruit Grower's Facebook page, we have plant exchanges in the spring, and I have seedlings available then that I give away.

    Do they damage the siding of your home?

    • @gardenwiseadventures
      @gardenwiseadventures  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They haven't so far! They die to the ground each year, so I pull them off the siding once they die back in early winter.

    How do I winter over my fruit vine? it is currently in the ground, I am new to this awesome vine.

    • @gardenwiseadventures
      @gardenwiseadventures  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It you live where it freezes over the winter, then you can wait until the vine fully dies back and then heavily mulch over the roots. It is very hardy, so you won't need to do anything else.

    I think since you got you may pop from seed that you might have gotten a seed with bad genetics. If you neighbor has a may pop that fruits I would ask for a cutting since that is the only way to ensure it’s a true genetically similar plant. The same thing with all fruits. The seed will never give a genetically similar plant that it was formed from. Hope this helps!

    How and when do you prune it if it dies to the ground.

    • @gardenwiseadventures
      @gardenwiseadventures  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I pull the whole vine down and leave it in a pile around the root zone once the frost kills it. That way the roots are more protected over the winter. I then cut everything to the ground in the spring once freezing temperatures are done

    Whoops the seeds were gifted by a California gardener. It may not be cold hardy. We'll see.
