I was so worried that I lost these lovely leaves to the frost, but thankfully I was able to harvest them in time. I recently learned that you can use Passion flower leaves to make a lovely tea from from school Green Comfort School of Herbal Medicine and I was so excited that I had to share this with you all!

My daughter and I are just beginning to forage and love it.
The "weed" I've been trying to kill for years turned out to be elderberry! We were able to make syrup this year with our own elderberry and honey, Yaya!
Thank you for all your wonderful videos.

Hi Susan, I too, just found out this small tree/bush that was planted so close to the wall of my house that it's actually elderberry. Too late for this year because now I don't see those black clusters of berries were gone. They were there about 2 or 3 weeks ago. My question is, how do you make elderberry syrup? Is there a link I can follow or learn from please? Thank you.

just found your channel. love it! the same plant has volunteerily been growing in my garden for years but i kept pulling out the vines thinking it was a weed. this year it grew all in with my potatoes so it went bonkers. when they died out i saw all this fruit and gorgeous flowers filled with bees and then did the research. cant believe ive been pulling it out all these years. didn't iknow this about the leaves.
BTW.... my family were the fist settlers of the shenandoah valley, hockman on the James river by hamburg and they were the first to build in harrisonburg. i also went to Liberty. thought i'd retire there.... God's area..... so beautiful. you are so blessed. anyway.... i enjoy your channel.

In my area, the Gulf Fritillary Butterfly will lay it's eggs on the Passion Flower. I have the Maypop variety close to my house and native wild varieties further back with other plants I grow just for Butterflies. If they are in a shady area the Zebra Longwing Butterfly will too. The Bees don't care which type they land on as they love them both! Check for a Chrysalis on the vines before discarding them and the brown leaves. Their chrysalis is disguised as a small dead leaf.

Curious, why not pick the bad leaves off then hang the vine upside down to dry out? If your solar kiln is not in use that could be a place to dry them out for a couple of weeks.

I listened to a statement on another video about passion flower infusions and tisanes that said that dried herbs were useless as the active beneficial chemicals had been changed or destroyed. I grow Passiflora edulis, the purple granadilla, and wonder if I can simply take some fresh green leaves from the vines and make an infusion to treat anxiety. Does this work as well as drying them and what would you say about the statement that drying potentially destroys the benefit? Thanks.
