- The passionfruit is relatively very easy to grow. If you have a trellis or pergola , this is a must to grow. The vines grow pretty fast, providing you the shade and bearing fruits easily. The flower is really magnificent and beautiful!!

One of the best videos I have seen, as it clearly indicates the number of days for different stages
thank you ,glad that you like it!
You are Right
Same here. In fact THE best video I've seen on growing passionfruit from seed to date, period!
And I picked it fir my first ever video on the subject. What are the odds? 😁🤓
Yes.. It has actually mentioned d month's.. I have watched many videos to know this.. My plant is around 7-8 months.. Still no fruits.. Waiting
I have to agree. Gives proper stages so you know what to look for and what to expect
Imagine my surprise when I see this video because I've been weeding out the young saplings from my garden thinking its some sort of weeds. I didn't recognise this variety with this leaf form as I've seen only the ones that looked a bit like maple. Last year I threw a bunch of rotten passion fruit in my compost bin. And this year they've been sprouting like crazy and I weeded them like carzy 😂. The irony of it all is that I have been trying to grow passion fruit by buying new seeds this year. Thanks for saving the rest of my sprouted seedlings 😂😂
Oh yeah, my best plant always comes out from the compost bin !
This video helped me very much! I was finally able to sprout passion fruit seeds easier than last time.
Thanks
Lovely video, just what I was looking for.
A little tip- always transplant seedlings by handling one leaf, not the stem. If a leaf breaks, you've only lost one leaf, if a stem breaks, you've lost the whole plant 🪴
Thanks for the tips! The previous passion fruit, I lost all the video footage due to my corrupted hard disk., right now I start to grow the sweet granadilla, and determine to record again from seed to harvest!
Thank you. I will try, I have made that expérience by Handling thé stem.
I loved it! I recently got some passion fruit and since it’s so expensive at the store I’ve decided to grow my own. I’m excited 🤗🤗✨
Awesome!! Give it a try....I have experience growing from passion from Ecuador will germinate, but will not have 2nd true leaves....not sure if genetic modify .
Your hand mark proves that you are a gardener
Video je prelep. Posalji semenke. Pozdrav iz Srbije ❤❤❤
Спасибо за такое подробное видео. Я тоже выращиваю маракуйю. 😊
The best idea to start, most clear to under
Best passion fruit related video.
Beautiful video will help to grow some other fruit plants 🌱.
So nice of you
Nice video! Looks like a fun vine to grow! Fast growth rate too. ^^
i seen your alley on succulent , probably you could add this your garden!
@@TonysExploration Perhaps after I own a place. I'm still renting.
Simply throw waste in sandy soft heap and water and wait
Thanks for the nice video .
Thank you, beautiful explanation 😘
I grew it from seeds. I used npk 20-20-20 and they grew perfectly. But which npk fertilizer should I use for flowering in April and May?
Reduce the nitrogen ratio would be good enough and maintain the P and K
@TonysExploration 0-30-20, 0-20-20, or 10-30-20 which npk? For flowering
@@ruzifermanli686110-30-20 will be better than 0 nitrogen
Good vedio.thanks
SO BEAUTIFUL. VIDEO❤🎉👑🌸🥀🌷
I have one in a 5 gallon bucket and I started it from seed. The bucket is a bottom water bucket. The plant looks nice but it’s been a year and no flowers. All the leaves did fall off in winter and came back so maybe that slowed it down. I still wait for flowers and don’t know where to look to see if any are coming
perfectly fine, it took me 2 full years and I'm in tropical country before flowering. I wont surprise if took longer than 2 years since we don't have winter here .
@@TonysExploration is bottom watering okay ? I let it get mostly dry before I refill the water reservoir.
@@zyante1 , i normally do the inverse way, top one inch soil dry only watering
I have soo many plants growing very in pot so now it’s very hot it’s summer time so please tel me where to keep the plant in tottal shade or shade n sun thank u so much
When there are seedlings, is under the shade. Once the root is stable, slowly expose to sun for the hardening process. Eventually this plant can withstand full blast of sun
Thanks for the infor 👍🏽👍🏽❤️❤️❤️
Great Information
I like the passion fruit
Me too!
Did you dry the seeds out on the paper towel first? Or let them germinate? I wasn’t sure on that part? And did you wash the pulp off the seeds? Thank you. 😊
dry out on paper tower first, so the pulp will stick to the paper after it dry. Then germinate in soil.
@@TonysExploration Thank you 😊
I want my plant to reach the first floor on the balcony . So the fruit will be in the balcony , how can I do that ? Thanks for your video ❤
All you need is to have trellis let it grow
Can you leave it outside during the winter months or does it need to come inside?
No , it won't survive the frost outside.
Very good video thank you. Between which temperature we can planet passion fruit any advice for me?
Tropical and subtropical are the perfect temperatures.. from 20 to 30 celcuis
Thank you so much.
How about 20 to 40
@@rajanchhetri8466 , I have much confident it will still strive in 40.
It plant normal temperature man
What is the Best location to grow it? Full sunlight, shade, wet, dry land or ?
A few hours of sun will do well. Also keep the soil moist all the time.
I planted simply by throwing waste in an heap and watered now it a big and yields every year
I can relate that , many of the video here aren't the best showcase of my crops ....the best is always unrecorded and grow out of the compost pile.
I have few plants from passion fruit seeds. It’s more than an year old. First leaves fallen. New branches and leave are there. Could you tell us how to get it flowered?no fruit yet
Wait for another half year..in between can start to try using higher P n K and lower the N fertilizer
@@TonysExploration thank you
I have planted seeds about a month ago in October. Its been a month but passion fruit seeds are not srouting. I don't know how long it takes. I read and it says about 20 days but for me whole month is going to pass but they are not sprouting.
😢😢😢😢
Dig out a few seeds to check
I did today. They are the same as i planted them.
Excellent but hope they is no fertilizer application, manure only
I'm also growing a passionfruit. It's growing well but not getting any taller
What is it you put on top of soil at 6:07 ?
Coconut fibre, to cool off the heat, maintain moisture and also prevent weeds
Thank you very much. I will try.
I live in western Europe, passion fruit Is expensive here. I got organic ones, but I don't Know if gmo or not.
How Can you tell?
Will It grow fruits? More Than once?
I don't think passion fruit has GMO or any research being done to modify the genetics.. Here in Asia ,it is kind of very easy to grow and doesn't have commercial value at all, so I doubt any laboratory going to put effort on this.
Nice 🌿🙌🏼🥳
Do you have to bring them in during winter?
Nope, I live in tropical
You should have said that you must pollinate the pistil with your finger covered with pollen every morning to obtain enormous fruits !
You are absolutely right...In the early days when I making video, I admit did not put up enough details...still a learning curve of making video..
What do you mean? I dont understand about the pistil and the pollinating thing you mentioned.
@@mgarciber1 To get really big fruits ( the double of the volume showed in the video ) , you must pollinate every morning , before midday , the new flowers by taking their pollen on the tip of your index and transfering it on their pistil ! I hope you know what the pollen and the pistil are ...
And the best thing to do is let the fruits ripe by themselves on the vine since they turn yellow , it is gorgeous !
Hmm never heard that saying 🤔
Hi dear, does passion fruit that grew from seeds needs grafting to give fruits?
No
How often do you water? Once a day or whenever the soil looks dry?
whenever the top 1 inch start dry
What about flowers season I have to stop watering to save fruits not droop down or I continue watering?
Hey friend what happened to the grape plants grown from seed? Did they bear fruit? Is there an update for it?
It did bear fruit in the third year,, but I didn't make into video. It didn't turn out to be a good variety...so I sacrifices to make room for other crops
I have a dought... can the seeds be planted after removing from the fruit shell or it has to be dry????
Either way will do
why the flowers fall off before they make fruit?
It could be many reasons, primary could be lack of boron and calcium
Hi, what type of support you have use for this plant, is it purchased stick ?
Yes , I bought at the Daiso shop...
Mine reach 20-30cm and then they simply stop growing 😭 i tried it so many times…idk what i’m doing wrong🤔🤔
Should we keept the soil always moist
Yes, my rules of watering always the same : During seed germination, soil/peatmoss must always moist. When the plant repot and start to stabilize , then I only water when the top 1 inch soil get dry.
So helpful
Glad you think so!
Thanku for this video and what mixtures r u used in the soil to planting the passion fruit?
Those are nursery bought gardening soil plus my own aged compost (20 percent)
👍
It’s been a couple months and my passion fruit saplings are still on ur day 21 stage with the tiny leaves. I dunno what I am doing wrong :/ maybe it’s to little sunlight on my Window here in the European winter?
(I planted them in the end of this summer I believe)
Definitely you can't compare the progress as I live in tropical country. Here is full blast of sun , all year long
@@TonysExploration oh okay thx for the reassurance
❤👍
How to trim the passion plant in the pot
Keep the main stem, the side shoots you need to trim the tops
I would love to grow these, passion fruit is the best. But I live in a cold, northern European country - how would these fare inside do you think? :')
I don't think it will thrive inside
I’m in Poland and I figured I’d just give it a try because why not. If it works - great, if not I’ll still have one cool vine xD
@@annachaber5289 Norway here, super cursed in terms of both light and heat xD You're so right, it's fun to try no matter what comes out of it! I love my avocado vines even though they won't grow fruits :D
You are success... man 👨
Thank you
After putting seeds in pot, it should be kept outside in sun or inside in shade?
In shade and when the first true leaves appeared, slowly exposed to morning sun only
I have 2 in a 5 gallon but one has slowed its growth. Time to move it I guess
Yes, some are definitely stunted
@tony’s exploration the seeds germinated on paper towel, they just show a tiny white growth… WHAT DO I DO NEXT, please..? I live in Los Angeles
Time to re-pot. Use a small pot ,maybe 3 inch diameter and start to transplant...happy gardening
@@TonysExploration thank youuuuu….!!!
Do you have a special kind of fertiliser you recommend for passion fruit? :) I have one but it never seems to flower :’( Thank you so much in advance!
general rule is lower the N , and high in P n K if aiming for flower...but passion doesn't really need specific fertilizer. Patient...give a little more time.!
@@TonysExploration Okay! thank you so much for your reply!!! :)
Can we use gi pipe for support
ya, definately
I have a very healthy passion flower creeper purple color.....but it isn't producing fruits.
purple passion is self-fruitful, no need pollination. Keep it up!
When does a passion fruit creeper start bearing fruit? My creeper is a year old.
U gotta give him props because this is hard I fail everytime
Thank you..give it a try again!
Help, I've had my for over a year now and it stopped growing.
It doesn't want to get new leaves and the new leaves it had gotten look shrumpy
No worries, ...try to observe and dig a few inch into the soil, check the roots, if there is anything wrong.look if too wet , cause root rots , or if the roots have nematodes....check your soil pH as well..
@@TonysExploration I've recently transplanted it from coconut earth to some sort of gardening earth.
Could that be the problem?
@@gurkengamingpvz21 ,it could be... sometime the plant just have transplant shock ....just observe for sometime...patient is the key
What hardiness zone are you and state? I’d be looking to grow the purpler passion fruit variety, or the Frederick, in Albuquerque New Mexico.
Tropical country ,Malaysia...i would say equivalent to your zone 13
Later did you put the plant in the earth or still un the container?
Still inside container
@@TonysExploration
Thanks Tony's put growth in the earth gives more fruits and longer life
What time of year should we start the process? Does it matter? I live in sunny Los Angeles
LA should be fine, is warm enough throughout the year for the seed to germinate, especially these few months.
What soil is used?
As long as is rich in compost and well drained, then is good.
What Is the size of the pot?
Sorry for late reply , is about 18 gallons pot
That’s nutrient burn from manure pellets
Do you leave it in the big container forever? Or did you eventually plant it on soil.
I left it that big container...is enough room for the roots .
Some say only pots since it’s a crazy vine.
আপনার গাছ দেখে খুব ভাল লাগলো এর চারা পাওয়া যাবে
Any update?
purmenent or 1 year ?
Pemenent
@@TonysExploration thanks ❤️
Did you use chicken or cow manure pellets? I cannot find them at local nursery shops, any suggestions on where I can purchase?
Both will do as well, it doesn't matter
Que ermosa flor le sale. Por favor en español como se llama esta fruta. Que alguien que me lo diga, gracias
WOW It's Passion Fruits
How to growth seed in days
What climate do you live in ? :)
Tropical country
I am an amateur in gardening. However, I have some passion fruit seeds, and I am uncertain if I need to use manure pellets, unsure if they sell them in my neighborhood. Is there an alternative? Do I use the pellets just one time as I replant the seedlings? 🌱 Please help🙏🏻 Elizabeth from New York🗽
Basically you can use other type of fertilizer, just follow the label instruction. Since is a seedling, use those equal NPK will do, for example 5:5:5 or those high in Nitrogen N ..or any organic fertilizer. Avoid those high P or high K which for flowering or fruiting fertilizer. Happy Gardening
Hi sir. How big can this grow?
If you let it run wild...it can crawl many feets...I prefer to trim it and maintain around 5-6 feet per vines
@@TonysExploration only 5-6 feet? I hoped it can cover 10m2/tree but I guess I'd have to buy several one.
Thank you for the info, sir.
Mine have put to leaves
How to remove pulp? Make a drink of it!
I eat and chew inside my mouth for a very long time. The video never shown that part...haha
I'm doing this right now lol day 1
A thousand miles begin with a single step. You doing great!!
What soil did you use? And what’s the pot size ?
i using premix gardening soil from nusery + some manure compost . 20 inch diameter pot
@@TonysExploration thanks
Can they grow in soilless potting mix with only liquid fertilizer?
That I haven't try out, technically is possible
