    POSSIBLY A SILLY QUESTION BUT... You stated to keep the car running when the inverter is on so as not to drain the battery box battery in use. I'm guessing the battery box battery is wired directly to the alternator being recharged with 12 volts DC yes? Would it be the same if I plugged a 12 volt battery charger to the second AC power socket on the inverter and use its alligator clamps to connect to the battery box battery as I operate the inverter? Would it work the same or put too much of a load on the inverter?

    Hi there, i have a 1200w input microwave with a 1500w kings inverter, i just wonder can i connected directly to my 80ah 100rc 500cca battery ? I will be running it for maybe 4or 5 minutes max per day with engine on. Thanks great video

    If I was running the inverter 4 metres from the battery, would I need to up the cable size based on Volt drop of the cable run?

    • @4wdsupacentreAu
      @4wdsupacentreAu  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi there,
      Thank you for the question, while you would need to run a larger gauge, we would however strongly recommend a closer installation to the battery as larger voltage use also creates more drop and by extension less efficiency in running 240v items.
      Regards, Andrew

    If I have a triple battery dcdc charger setup with one starter (under the bonnet) and two deep cycles (in the canopy) do I just need to wire the inverter to one of the deep cycles or do something different with both of them involved?

      Yes .. easily .. but this video only cover part of the install .. major missing piece is how it connects to your vehicle to charge the additional battery .. this guy only gave a toot about selling it .. not installing it .. you need a minimum of 2 gauge wire from the battery in the rear bigger the better .. and you need a Battery Isolator between the alternator and main battery to the rear battery and the inverter

      I would NOT turn the inverter off if thermal fans are running!! Even when you've finished using it.
      The fans are cooling down the internal components

    Surely the advice about running the vehicle only applies if the inverter is connected to the mains battery? If I have a deep cycle battery providing the power and solar is recharging that battery, and it's not connected to my mains battery at all, running the camper is pointless!

    Why is the recommendation for 150amp breaker? The local auto elec only has 120 & 200, Is it better to go 120amp or 200amp??

    • @4wdsupacentreAu
      @4wdsupacentreAu  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Scott,
      Out of the two options, we recommend going with the 200amp circuit breaker instead of the 120amp circuit breaker.
      The reason for this is because if you are using all 1500 watts of the inverter and his battery voltage drops to 12 volts, the circuit will be drawing at least 125amps (which will trip the 120amp circuit breaker every time).
      If you are only using the inverter for low power items, the 120amp will be fine. However, the 200amp will be the better option for most applications.
      As always if you’re using the inverter with high power items, we suggest running the vehicle at the same time to ensure the battery is receiving a good charge which will keep the voltage up.
      Cheers,
      Mitch

  • @robertl.finney3688
    @robertl.finney3688 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Better to add a circuit breaker or fuse, this is to protect your circuit more than the inverter. Have just installed a different brand 1500/3000 watt inverter and installed a 250 amp fuse. And I did not use the wire provide (6AWS) and used the recommended 2AWS. THE 1509 watt is continuous and the 3000 watt is start up boost maximum. Do a search for good name brand inverters installing instruction.
