    Nice clean install, Sir.
    One advantage of not having it inside a protective box is it gets better air circulation for better heat dissipation..

    Looks cleanly done, just keep in mind to leave plenty of slack on those cables near the battery in case you ever need to get that battery warrantied out at the dealership. Them techs only get .30 for a battery.

    Sick install! I’m trying to install one in my jeep, was researching the batteries everyone is hooking to, cause in the manual it says to use a deep cycle/marine battery and not to use the engine starting or wet cell battery… I was curious as to your opinion on that.

    • @TonyTheTechnician
      @TonyTheTechnician  17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      If you plan on running something for a long time with the vehicle off then yes get a seperate deep cycle. If your just running smaller items, or only running things for a short time, or if you plan on having the vehicle running then you don't need one.

    I typed the 2023 Honda Ridgeline on how to run wire to the bed from the battery.
    WTH, how did Colorado come up?
    I'm trying to setup a DC to DC charging for my power station.
    Power stations are the best way to have portable power in your truck. You're not limited to small inverters for 120v. Power station can offer 240vac besides the 120vac.

    • @TonyTheTechnician
      @TonyTheTechnician  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have 4 power stations and love them but an inverter is a great addition. I can run larger items for much longer than I could on a power station it also takes up less space than most decent sized power stations. Also if I have my power station and it dies or is running low, instead of always needing my solar panel or dc charger to keep it charged which could take hours the inverter can supply 120v and charge my power station to 100% in an hour. So while I love my power stations I also work our of my truck and can get plenty of use from my inverter instead of carrying a power station everywhere

      I have an Ecoflow 800 watt alternator charger.
      It can charge a 100ah lithium battery in 1 hour 15 minutes.
      It will easily keep up with your 1000 watt inverter at peak use.

      No, I bought it on a Kickstarter.
      Hobo tech had a video on it and used his discount code of 65 dollars.
      The kick starter price was 949 dollars minus 65 dollars. I paid something like 880.
      It includes
      Ecoflow Delta 2 (999 regular price)
      Alternator charger (599 regular price)
      100 w folding solar panel (329 regular price)
      Amazon even got into the promotion.
      849 for the Delta 2 and the charger. No solar panel.
      I think Amazon still has special promotion?

    • @wt9653
      @wt9653 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If you have power stations. You might want to look into the Pecron alternator charger.
      It'll charge at 500 watts to any brand of power station. You have to know the specs for your power station. It has to accept 42 volts or higher. It's very reasonable at 150 dollars. You already ran wire to the back. You can tap into it with the charger.

    Fantastic video! How did you decide on the circuit breaker amperage?

    • @TonyTheTechnician
      @TonyTheTechnician  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you. I used ohms law for wattage of inverter divided by volts. You could probably get by with a 100 or 105 amp fuse or breaker I went a little bit higher after looking at another chart online that recommended 175 but I felt like that was a little high so I went with 135

    I don’t understand…why did you take the ground all the way back to the battery? Why not ground to the frame under the bed?

    • @TonyTheTechnician
      @TonyTheTechnician  ปีที่แล้ว +6

      When running an inverter or item that's over 500w its always best to go directly to battery. Most manufacturers recommend this as well. The unit actually also includes a safety ground that can be wired from the unit to the chassis. If you are only going to run low amperage items then the chassis ground is fine

    Hi! Question, does the breaker has to be near the battery? Because I am planning to run the wire inside my suv from the battery to run the inverter but I don't want to place my inverter permanently, just use it as needed.
    So if I wana do that, do you recommend placing the breaker inside the suv near the inverter, that way I can keep it open and kill the power when inverter not in use and close it when I am using the inverter or is there any other method to do that? Thank you!

    • @TonyTheTechnician
      @TonyTheTechnician  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's best to keep the circuit breaker as close to the battery as possible to keep damage as minimal as possible if anything ever happened. You could still use the circuit breaker to shut it off when removed but I might look into some quick disconnects for the battery

Most people will mount the inverter in a storage container in the bed but this has worked well for me with no issues for about 8 months
