    Thanks for this. I can’t believe Rapidbike doesn’t have a video explaining their program

    Thank you for the video, just ordered it for my Moto Guzzi V85TT an 800cc air cooled engine, fuel injected that "passes" Euro 5 emissions.
    You can imagine how badly leaned out it is to do that and how bad it runs from the factory. I sent the Rapid Bike to a Moto Guzzi tuner and tweaked the map according to the exhaust and intake. Can't wait to install it and see the difference. One of the reasons why I ordered it is the ability to lower the temperatures and make the bike run better in hot weather and heavy traffic. It has been almost un-rideable since day one.

    +Ed Maynard overall the bike is running cooler than it did before. Even on the warmer days we have been having. As far as coming off fast idle, I haven't really paid attention to it. I usually start the bike then go put my gear on. There is a fail safe feature built in to the unit as well. If anything is not right, it reverts to stock maps. I have not checked my average MPG yet. The unit was only recently installed.

      I bought this tuner from sbu, if it's not to much trouble could you send me the map you are using with your aftermarket exhaust, I have a 2017 z650 with a delkevic exhaust

    Love that you showed the user interface and explained what it´s actually doing.
    Is there any chance that you do such a video for the rapidbike shift assist (blipper) module? Particularly the initial setup and testing procedure would be interesting as there‘s no other video showing this. Would be awesome.

    That's a cool software that they provide when you purchase the ECU upgrade. Even in cars, when you do a software upgrade you never get anything like this. I like the fact that you can reduce the engine braking with the software. That's a good feature to have. Do you think the MPG is reduced because it is spitting out more fuel?

    • @Tremonte
      @Tremonte  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jeff C.S I haven't checked the MPG yet, but so far it seems about the same for distance traveled before I need to refuel. I'll set the gauge to see what it averages next time I go for an all day ride.

      @exothermal.sprocket 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Allowing an engine to breath better and adjusting the air/fuel and timing curves to suit that better breathing condition should not affect fuel efficiency at all. In some cases it gets better. Usually the biggest difference in MPG changes with tuning is the fact that a new fancy sound and better throttle response means the rider is going to rip on the throttle more and thereby decrease mpg as a matter of better enjoyment.

    Did this tuner help the bike come off fast idle at start up quicker? Has this tuner helped lower coolant temps (at least one block or more on coolant block graph on bike's display) in stop and go traffic and/or at speed? Any sense of better or worse MPG? Without using an exhaust AF sensor, does this tuner have a protect feature to prevent mapping the bike overly lean since it only using the stock O2 sensor to determine AF ratio? Thanks for any input.

    Hey Tremonte, did the engine break adjust make a difference? I have a 2017 ninja 650 and the engine breaking drives me crazy. If the power commander can lower the engine breaking then its worth a buy. Did it fix popping in your yoshimura exhaust?

    So the Evo adjusts fuel/air while you ride, and when you get home you can just apply those changes and that's your new map? Not much info online about the actual usage of the RB Evo. Thanks....

    • @Tremonte
      @Tremonte  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +janolewilhelmsen there is a setting you can enable that lets it adjust all the time. No need to save it afterwards as it stores it automatically.

    • @janolewilhelmsen
      @janolewilhelmsen 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      So you feel any difference in power and throttle response after install?
      Considering this over the PCV with AT because the RB Evo is supposed to tune the low end closed loop aswell... Normally after installing a full system it's the low end that causes trouble with jerky power and bad throttle response...

    • @Tremonte
      @Tremonte  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +janolewilhelmsen you can definitely feel the difference in throttle response. Much more smooth. The power gain could be felt as well. While it wasn't as big of a gain as the exhaust itself as far as HP, it woke the bike up across the entire power band. He did a great job on the fuel mapping.

    Not sure if you monitor this but when I download a map the screen us just full of zeros. Was working a few days ago but uploaded a new map from Dimsport Italy to stop o2 sensor error and can't go back. From your experience is it likely a pc or RB fault. RB usa does not know!

    • @Tremonte
      @Tremonte  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds like your O2 sensor has failed or a bad connection. Does it show zeros from the initial load of a map? Set your auto tune to 13.1, go ride for an hour and then see what it says. If still zeros, check O2 connections and sensor.

    • @bryancavill6788
      @bryancavill6788 ปีที่แล้ว

      RB got it all working. The file supplied to cure a sensor error caused a problem. So autotune is working with additional wideband sensor module and their my Tuning software. The only unresolved issue is bike jerks when throttle is opened gently . Think its when it switches over from closed loop. Thanks for you help.

    • @Tremonte

      Ground clearance will not be an issue. Most supersports and other bikes are far lower to the ground than this one. At 5'9", you will be comfortable. The best thing you can do is go sit on one and see if you like it.

    Hi i just got my evo and am about to fit but have one question. If/when the trim hits the limit of what you set it at like you had yours at 8% i think. Ive read that you are supposed to save them to the map so that you have all zeros and it can start again but how do you do this? I see there is a zero trim option at the top of the adaptive map but not sure if this is the one to press as it will delete your map right?
    Cheers great video👍

    • @Tremonte
      @Tremonte  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You don’t have to save or zero anything. With auto adaptivity turned on, set the trim levels on the high side to start then go ride. After riding 50 miles or so, look to see what was adjusted. If it’s close to the desired AFR, slide the trim down so it will adjust less. It will take about 200miles of riding for the auto tune to get a good reading across all ranges. You can save the auto adaptive map as whatever you like, reload the base map, and start again if you’d like. This is useful for track days, changes in elevation etc.

    • @kevinjohnoflynn
      @kevinjohnoflynn 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tremonte hi thanks for the reply. I installed my evo and im blown away by how good the bike is straight off the bat. The only thing im wondering is does it really take at least 200km to auto tune. I say this because i just did 120km and plugged the laptop in and there was only 2 changes in the mid range at -1 the rest was all still 0. The bike is running amazing so is it possible that the base map is spot on or do i just need to give it more time? I was expecting a bit more movement on the table by now.
      Cheers

    Most of the available exhausts for the 2017 650’s in America say that a remap is not needed. I assume that as it has an O2 sensor it will just adjust to the exhaust using the same emission limitations it adheres to with the stock exhaust. With that thinking I assume that it should not be a problem to put one of these pipes on without adding a fuel controller. I also understand that the performance could be enhanced by using a fuel controller as it would allow for a more performance based AFR than what the stock ECU will allow due to the emissions restrictions. Can any of you verify my thinking is correct?

    • @Tremonte
      @Tremonte  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Mxdad32 Ride on! The O2 sensor is a narrowband and will only allow finite adjustment due to the inaccuracy of this style, and the programmed restrictions in the ECU. The manufacturers base the “no fuel controller needed” mostly on the condition of leaving the baffles in. Once removed, the flow restrictions decrease beyond what the O2 will be able to adjust. Even then, the adjustment takes a long time for the ECU to fully compensate. So, it’s kinda of a catch 22. Yes, you can run the majority of these without a controller.... but only if you don’t fully derestrict the exhaust. By the dyno results I had with the Yoshimura, you can run derestricted without a controller, but if you were to add any type of race or K&N filter, I would be afraid the mixture would run far too lean.

    • @mxdad32rideon3
      @mxdad32rideon3 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tremonte thanks for the reply. Here is the reply I got from Yoshimura when I asked them the same question “Hello Brett,
      Thank you for your interest in the Yoshimura products. The 2017 Kawasaki Ninja 650 exhaust was designed to work with the stock settings on the motorcycle by re-using the stock o2 sensor. We are located in Southern California, so the motorcycles might run differently in other parts of the world (due to elevation and climate).
      Some customers have either added a fuel controller, or re-flashed the ecu for racing use, riding conditions, climate/elevation, and other engine modifications. There are companies that make and sell the fuel controllers, and for the re-flashing of the ecu there are a couple of ways (one is thru your local Triumph dealer) (another is getting the software to do it yourself, or even sending the ecu to a company to do it for you).
      I hope this helps you with your questions.
      Thank you,”

    Maybe I missed something, but I didn't see any fuel to air ratio display, I believe that is the the most important information I want to see when tuning a bike. Any input on that?

    • @Tremonte

    Looking at their website, it's a bit confusing. They list the Evo as not allowing engine braking adjustment, and have it listed for the Race version instead. Maybe it's just more fine-tuning settings available on the Race version or something?
    They also list it as no Ignition Adjustments for the Evo, and only for the Race version.

    • @Tremonte
      @Tremonte  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Motorcycle Extremist you can adjust it, but only as an overall amount. The race version lets you adjust braking and ignition for each gear and set the rpm range and amount. EVO just lets you tune it on a basic level

    • @MotorcycleExtremist
      @MotorcycleExtremist 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      OK, sounds like the Evo would be all most people would need for that then. Just to be clear, the Evo 'does" let you make changes or it will automatically make changes to the ignition of you want? If so, have you made any ignition changes with yours?

    • @Tremonte
      @Tremonte  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Motorcycle Extremist you can make minor adjustments. I have only had the fueling and braking adjusted so far

    • @MotorcycleExtremist
      @MotorcycleExtremist 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      OK, I'll be watching for if and when you do some ignition work. I'm really interested to see how that works. Can that unit do ignition adjustment and management automatically?

    • @Tremonte
      @Tremonte  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Motorcycle Extremist the only automatic adjustment is in the AFR for fueling. If something goes out of spec, it will reset the unit to default fueling to prevent engine damage. I probably won't mess with that for a while. My next move is toward the gearing. Lighter sprockets and changing tooth count.
