    0:48 Other bulletproof coffee ingredients
    1:00 MCT oil benefits
2:25 Important notes on MCT oil
Let’s talk about why some people enjoy having MCT oil in their coffee.
You may have heard of something called bulletproof coffee. Bulletproof coffee is one 8oz-12oz cup of coffee mixed with 1-2 tbsp of butter and 1-2 tbsp of MCT oil.
There can be a lot of benefits of consuming this, especially when you’re first starting out on keto and intermittent fasting because it may help you fast for longer.
MCT stands for medium-chain triglycerides. These are special fats usually made from coconut oil that turns into ketones pretty fast. This helps you potentially generate ketones as fuel without really changing your diet.
Sometimes, when making bulletproof coffee, people also add ingredients such as:
    • Turmeric
    • Cinnamon
    • Unflavored chocolate powder
    • Sea salt
    • Chili powder
Benefits of MCT oil in coffee:
    1. More physical energy
    2. Increased mental clarity
    3. Reduced appetite
    4. More oxygen
    5. Increased fasting
    6. Helps with the transition to burning fat
Pretty much all MCT oil companies get their products from the same source. The United States doesn’t grow coconuts, so MCT oil comes from non-US sources. I have an MCT oil product that is from Indonesia.
I believe that typically MCT oil is overpriced. Many brands sell MCT oil for $25 to $45 for one 16oz bottle. I sell my MCT oil for $12.95.
Many people enjoy bulletproof coffee, you may want to give it a try too!

That's what our commom thickened cream looks like. You can pour it but double cream is so thick it will heap on the spoon! From my many, many months doing Keto I've come to recommend coconut oil over MCT oil. I realize there might be some specific instances where MCT oil might be a better choice however coconut oil has all the benefits of MCT oil, including both C8 and C10 MCTs, and along with the added benefits of Lauric acid in coconut oil make it a better choice. IMO
I do appreciate the cheaper offering for straight MCTs however.

    • @jimbeaver27

If you are fasting then you are making ketones and burning your fat. The MCT oil produces no insulin response, gives you extra energy, and will allow you to fast longer and easier when you are beginning a Keto diet. Once your body adjusts to fat burning, MCT oil can still boost your energy, everyone is different, and if you are running a marathon you would eat lots of MCT oil. MCT will help supress your appetite. If you don't need MCT oil, have lots of energy and can fast a long time then don't use it. Watch this video again and other videos to truly understand Keto and MCT oil.

I have noticed that there are even recipes for bulletproof coffee on internet. I will be starting to use the MCT oil I purchased in coffee now, too. But I also like a bit of sweetener, so I use the Monk Fruit sweetener in my coffee and even some half ‘n half. I am also using something that Dr. Gundry mentioned in a video called coffee fruit (or berry). So, I purchased the extract called Hawaiian Coffeeberry Super Fruit by Hana Nata. I am in an experimental phase, so I check out everything. It might even be that instead of butter you can add a spoon of coconut oil as Dr. Berg also mentions in other videos. When I add a spoon of olive oil in the mornings and evenings, I know my heart is doing well. (no olive oil in the coffee, though). So glad to have these videos for guidance. By the way, Mindwise is a wonderful product I use from Young Living Essential Oils which tastes wonderful and is good for both heart and brain.

C8 from MCT oil gets absorbed straight by the liver while longer chains have to be absorbed through the gut. So C8 is called the best for ketosis and rapid energy.

We're confused! We thought consuming anything with calories such as keto coffee or anything in it breaks the fast? So wouldn't MCT oil since it has a 130 calories break a fast?

    • @cherylp.3347
      @cherylp.3347 4 ปีที่แล้ว

Yes! That’s what I was wondering. I thought Mtc oil in coffee breaks a fast so I was avoiding it. It would help immensely with fasting if it was allowed.

It is not the calories that breaks fast, it is glucose hence MCT oil is ideal to use

I would take mct oil with my powerade since I don't drink coffee. It helped me stay energized when I started keto

I just ordered a bottle. Need to lose 20 lbs. it’s been hard to do. I eat healthy and walk 2-3 miles daily. Hoping this MCT Oil will help. But I am down from 240 to 224. Took me a year.

I went to the link for your shop and couldn't find the MCT oil. The closest thing I found was another supplement that had D3, K2, zinc & MCT oil. Could you provide a link to it? Thanks for all your content!

It is same for me the coincidence is strong with this one it’s been months since I took one with MCT oil and here I am watching a video that was released 17hrs ago. Seems the matrix was glitched hard this time.

Here in Indonesia 500 grams bottle of MCT oil is IDR 135k-180k or around $9-$12, your MCT oil is well priced.

I LOVE coconut everything! Even my creamy chicken- and lobster soup is 'creamed-up' by dumping 2 cans of coconut cream into the broth. My skin has never been better!

Wait isn’t coconut cream different than coconut oil?
Like coconut oil is largely flavorless
Coconut cream has a thick consistency and delicious coconut flavor ?

I tried this before going on Keto. At first it did cut hunger and I felt good, but after a week or so, never lost any weight and started to gain weight. Same with Keto. Sometimes I feel like doctors will get behind any thing that they could make money off of. Basically, I was drinking like 350+ extra calories a day and wondering why I wasn't losing. Not all diets are made for everyone out there.

I changed up my bulletproof to be 1 tbsp butter, 1 tbsp MCT and 1 tbsp of full fat whipping cream. I don't like the taste of coffee but add the cream and it's coffee ice cream. Nom nom nom. I also add some drops of Vanilla Cream Sweet leaf stevia.

Just be advised. I put Bulletproof brand MCT oil in my coffee with stevia. It ate a hole in the styrofoam cup. Happened 3 times. Wonder what the melted styrofoam does to you when you ingest it with the hot coffee.

    • @kenhalal375
      @kenhalal375 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

If you add enough MCT oil the styrofoam will pass right through rather quickly. lol
