Great tutorial. I have 2 Wiis sitting in my closet that I picked up at a thrift store for 10 bucks each. They both power on, but by the looks of the fans the internals really need a good cleaning. Thanks for your hard work.

Im getting frustrated with this i have homebrew channel on my wii but i cant get any apps to show up (open shop channel specifically) im using a 64gb sandisk usb formatted to FAT32 and following the instructions of every tutorial i see but nothing shows up on my homebrew app. Any tips?

For some reason when i click on the game in usb loader gx it shows the little channel thing but when i get into it, it gets stuck on a black screen and becomes unresponsive
Hey, I'm following the tutorial and all, but when I go to the calendar and press on the little card there, the screen pretty much just frozed. I made sure that everything was up to date, the correct version of the console, and such. Its a refurbished wii that I bought not so long ago, but I have no idea why is not working, maybe you can give me some help over here. I will appreciate it
For some dumb reason the letterbomb wont show up and I made sure the date and time was right and I had to use my phone to use as a sd card reader to do this so idk if that has something to do with this
double check that the your usb is compatible wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/USB_Devices_Compatibility_List and go into the hotbar at the top and make sure wii games are checked
Everything works up until i launch the game. In this case, i am trying wii sports but once i start, it goes black and then sends me back to the USB loader menu. Anyone have any advice on how to fix this?
Decent guide but it's missing what file structure the games should be in. You named it correctly but a first time user would not realize that's how you're supposed to name/structure the folder for adding games to the wii. I had to search around a bit before continuing with the rest of the guide. Other than that everything worked out great. Thank you!
Hi, I have a question: I installed homebrew on my Wii several years ago and no longer have the original SD card. Can I still install and use USB loader is I don't have any of the original files (like the bootmii file etc)? Essentially just going into it raw with only the homebrew already on my system and no pre-existing files on my SD or USB?
this morning I got my pny 128GB 3.0 USB and let me tell you it worked flawlessly with my wii im so thankful for all your tutorials and for this you deserve my sub (also I went with off extended on deflicker and went with framebuffer and holy crap I love how my games look now : )
something else you can do is use Framebuffer Video Width, use 480p pixel fix patch but it may not change anything and use 4:3 on Display and Wii and on your display use some sharpness if any is available and if you use for example Mayflash HDMI Adapter, Hyperkin HD Cable or Hardware Video Scalers like OSSC or Retrotink but they are pretty pricy and with all of these combined games will look super clean and sharp
Everything is working great. The only issue I am running into is when I hit the home button in USB Loader GX and do either wii menu or homebrew it just stays on a black screen. I can turn off the wii and back on and its fine but wanted to know if there is a fix for that?
Was it possibly because it couldn't install on the SD card? I had an issue with that. I needed to make sure it was formatted correctly and then it worked.

USB Loader is a joke. it won't fit my screen and there's no way to adjust the GUI scale to make the top settings visible. text disappeared soon after, now can't even see settings

Hi! Used this guide a few weeks ago to homebrew my wii and had no issues until a few days ago. I turned on my wii and the remote stopped working past the home screen. The home button is the only one that still works, but I’m unable to select anything with the remote. I’ve tried resyncing the remotes, added new batteries, and checked the sensor bar, but the remotes/sensor bar don’t seem the be the issue. To clarify, I can load all apps, my disc, and priiloader/homebrew, but it’s like the wii cannot sense that the remotes are there and on. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!
I have one question about copying games from discs that I already have. I tried my copy of twilight princess for the wii, but everytime I try and download it off the disc it starts at 100% and wont let me cancel the download. I have to turn my wii off everytime I try. EDIT: After downloading wbfs files and putting them into a folder on the main flash drive screen called "wbfs", they wont appear in USBLoaderGx
me too i switched from a sd card to Hard disk cause of storage and its not booting without the SD card even though i copied everything on it with both connected i see my hard disk in USB loader but no games idk
Hello all, I need advice. After "Install BootMii as boot2" you had there a new menu item "Uninstall BootMii as boot2". This uninstall option did not appear for me even the install as boot2 was successful according to messages on the screen. I tried Return to the main menu and going back, but still no option to Uninstall as boot2. Do I need to repeat the Install or anything? Thanks.

@@calebcalvin i formatted the system memory and remodded it i wanted to wipe it because this keeps happening (even now) when i go play a .wad and then press the home button when i’m in a game my screen goes black for a sec and then i have to like press home more times and then it works
I know this video is old. But my apps still don't appear on homebrew even with the apps in the apps folder of the SD Card. I even hit 1 to make sure the SD slot was enabled and they still don't pop up. Any help? Edit: Nevermind, Fixed it.

Hey Scott thanks so much for the video. I had a question regarding USB loader gx. I tried to download my disc games to my SD card from USB loader GX and it would not allow me to download them . On my screen it says 0.00GB of 0.00GB free so Im not sure if thats the issue but any feedback would be appreciated!
whenever i get on usbloader, it gives me the option to use the sd card, I press A and nothing happens, my games dont load in and it says i only have 0 gbs

However I have few questions: I've installed few of the Wii games in my Wii but one of them is not working, Kirby's Return to Dream Land is giving me a blank screen after selecting the file to play, I not sure what could be wrong, any info would be greatly appreciated. Also how big of a memory card capacity you can use for the Wii? I want to install ton of Wii games but wonder if the size of gb on sd card wont matter lol
Hey Scott I know you said that the bootmii is mainly for backing up the wii but neither boot2 or iOS install is working. i installed the home brew quite easily but I just get the red “failed” text for bootmii. I tried starting from square one but same thing.

try to see if the sd card is on LOCK position, this happened to me to, once its unlocked, d3x v11 beta1 would be available

Actually, anything I do takes me to a black screen. Any game I click on black screens as well

It's most likely the type of usb, I used a 128gb SanDisk and it had the same issue

To clarify, I can load all apps, my disc, and priiloader/homebrew, but it’s like the wii cannot sense that the remotes are there and on. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!
I have one question about copying games from discs that I already have. I tried my copy of twilight princess for the wii, but everytime I try and download it off the disc it starts at 100% and wont let me cancel the download. I have to turn my wii off everytime I try.

After downloading wbfs files and putting them into a folder on the main flash drive screen called "wbfs", they wont appear in USBLoaderGx
me too i switched from a sd card to Hard disk cause of storage and its not booting without the SD card even though i copied everything on it with both connected i see my hard disk in USB loader but no games idk
BootMii IOS won’t download :/
Hello all, I need advice.
After "Install BootMii as boot2" you had there a new menu item "Uninstall BootMii as boot2".
This uninstall option did not appear for me even the install as boot2 was successful according to messages on the screen.
I tried Return to the main menu and going back, but still no option to Uninstall as boot2.
Do I need to repeat the Install or anything? Thanks.
I had the same but i just ignored it and it seems to be working so its probably not a big issue
Do your themes for USB loader also work on the Wii U's vWii? I've been looking for some and haven't found any decent looking ones.

Hey Scott! Do you think loading from an SD card or USB is better through USB loader GX? I’ve seen mixed reviews and currently run min straight of SD, but wanting more opinions
In my experience, it has worked well loading from either or so I think it's all preference :)

if i already downloaded d2x cios without internet and homebrewed the wii, what’s the best way to completely wipe it and restart the mod without messing anything up,
like if i format system memory is that good enough to re-mod the wii?

@@calebcalvin i formatted the system memory and remodded it i wanted to wipe it because this keeps happening (even now) when i go play a .wad and then press the home button when i’m in a game my screen goes black for a sec and then i have to like press home more times and then it works

For some reason, bootmii isn't loading properly on the hack mii part. The SD card is FAT32 and I am using a SanDisk brand card. Any advice on that?

I know this video is old. But my apps still don't appear on homebrew even with the apps in the apps folder of the SD Card. I even hit 1 to make sure the SD slot was enabled and they still don't pop up. Any help?

I feel like I followed everything correctly but when I go to USB loader the games I have on my usb do not show up
Go to USB Loader, settings then to the right and hit custom path and make sure your path for "Titles" is the folder where you have your game backups

My Letter Bomb letter isn't in my mail and I've checked throughout the whole of 2023 on the calendar and my date and time is correct and I don't know why its not working can you tell me how to fix that

do you know a solution for why USB logitech microphone not being detected for karaoke games? i've downloaded a couple games and they seem to work and boot up all the way but the only issue is the mic. any ideas? also thank you for all your Wii tutorials!
You can actually use a gc remote when your wii remote wont work.
Hey Scott thanks so much for the video. I had a question regarding USB loader gx. I tried to download my disc games to my SD card from USB loader GX and it would not allow me to download them . On my screen it says 0.00GB of 0.00GB free so Im not sure if thats the issue but any feedback would be appreciated!
whenever i get on usbloader, it gives me the option to use the sd card, I press A and nothing happens, my games dont load in and it says i only have 0 gbs

I've installed few of the Wii games in my Wii but one of them is not working, Kirby's Return to Dream Land is giving me a blank screen after selecting the file to play, I not sure what could be wrong, any info would be greatly appreciated.
Also how big of a memory card capacity you can use for the Wii?
I want to install ton of Wii games but wonder if the size of gb on sd card wont matter lol

Hey Scott I know you said that the bootmii is mainly for backing up the wii but neither boot2 or iOS install is working. i installed the home brew quite easily but I just get the red “failed” text for bootmii. I tried starting from square one but same thing.
