Hey 👋 thanks, I always try to find the most efficient way of doing things and saving time saves money for the customer and a happy customer always comes back 👍
Great Video! Is the process the same for the rear brakes? Other than the electronic parking brake connecter that has to be taken off temporarily as well?
Would you ever apply something like Lanoguard (rust protector) to the rusty bits (not the disc or caliper)? Or is this a no no because it interveres with the disc and brake system? Reason i ask is because im starting to get in to cars and will be doing this soon, so thank you for the wuality informative video.
If your car is rusty then ya you. An treat it with some rust protection just be sure not to get it on and moving parts like brakes and you should be good 👍
@@MrAutoFixer Nice one man. Thanks for the info. This video is probably the best one out there for changing discs and pads on the XC90. I'll get mine replaced. Thanks mate.
Cheers mate! Going to change my breakpads this weekend!
Your welcome 🤗 hope it goes smoothly, let me know how you get on💪
@@MrAutoFixerthx! It went very well! Thx to your video.
@@omark3999 you are very welcome 🤗
You can't just put pads without resurfacing the old rotors or put new rotors 🤦
@@EARTHKEENING apparently you can....🦹♂️
Nice to see this done without needlessly splitting the caliper.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I will be doing the same thing to a volvo xc90.
Your very welcome 🤗
I recommend volvo disk and pad for XC90 and the important thing haldex help XC90 break system, need to change haldex fluid too.
Yes genuine parts are always good I agree 👍
You are a king, very thank you
Your welcome 🤗
Great Video!

It’s basically the same principal on the rear. Some electronic handbrake have to be released by diagnostic tool so just bear that in mind.
One question. Why is there a single 10mm nut holding the disc? Does that not put all of the braking pressure on that single nut???
It’s there just to locate the disc in position and takes no stress from the braking affect when the wheel is on 👍
Just something to look at when you can so you get some idea of what they do when your brakes are replaced
That’s right 😊 I have plenty of videos for people to see the processes of lots of different jobs on cars👍
Thanks for watching
Lovely pro stuff !
Thanks really appreciate it 😊
What year is this XC90?
This one was a 2013 year 👍
Intersting that you didn't have to remove the carrier to get the disc off
I don’t know why that’s interesting but thanks for watching 👍
My wife has a 2022 does this apply? Thanks
I’ve not had the pleasure of working on a 2022 model yet but the principle will be the same and I would imagine it would be a very similar job 👍

Why doesn't anyone torque the caliper brake bolts? Must me a top secret number as I can't find the torque raring for the front of my 2019 XC90!
If it’s a D5 2019-2021 the front caliper to hub bolts torque is 200NM and the slider bolts are 57NM hope that helps 👍
@@MrAutoFixer Thanks for the info. Mine is a T6 R-Design with the factory 22" wheels, wondering if they would still be the same?
It’s the same, caliper carrier to hub is 200NM and slider bolts 57NM 👍
