Doctor Who is filled with amazing quotes, but I agree, this is one for the ages.... A few years ago, my 12 year old son was helping me with the tree and he lost footing and the tree fell on him and that's what he said in this super high pitched voice... I lost it, I think I laughed for 10 minutes straight
@@BritanyBinges He does, he is my "Non-so" mini-me. I have a sarcastic wit and I love to quote pop culture at the most unfortunate time, and he does the same. He got in trouble at school a few times because his teacher wouldn't understand the reference...
What makes the scene funnier is this: when we’re *away* from the Christmas Tree, in the room with Rose and Ten as Jackie shouts at Mickey to get out of there before the tree gets him… *the sound is muffled,* implying the tree came with inbuilt music!
"Britany: Is that from the Lion King?" immediately followed by the Doctor on the video saying "Sorry, that's from the Lion King", gives off such huge "Blink" vibes that I burst out laughing! 😆😆😆
For an episode that kept the doctor debilitated for most of its runtime, it is mind blowing how David was able to give the new doctor so much character. Credit to the writers also, because of this episode, the Christmas special became a British tradition for the whole family 😊

When NuWho was newly out, I watched interviews with Christopher Eccleston and he made it abundantly clear that the doctor does fancy Rose, but he's careful. She's 19. He's 900. He played it so well and had such a beautifully balanced portrayal. His love for her was kind of transcendent. I know people have their 'favee' doctors, and I do too, but I appreciate the actors and their different takes on the character a lot. Chris was not a Who fan when he was cast, but David was a big fan as a kid, so not only is he doing a part... playing the Doctor is his dream come true. That makes watching him really interesting.
Fun fact: They were initially going to have David struggle to say fantastic throughout the episode until the end where he says it correctly. The plan was ultimately scrapped but the kept the ending part.
Oh, that's interesting! I'm glad they did this way. It feel like a gut punch to the feels when it just came out of nowhere at the end like that and I think that made it more impactful.
Late to the party for these reactions, but I hadn't heard this. I prefer what they did too. It was so sweet he took that moment to fully reassure her that the man she knew was still there. The original idea actually undermines the idea that the Doctors are all the same person at heart. That would have confused a lot of new viewers.
i’m not sure whether because david was a younger actor they decided to be more full on with the flirtiness between the two, but i know for a fact that christopher was against that sort of thing, and even tried to stop the kiss happening in ‘parting of the ways’. he said that he felt that the relationship between the doctor and rose WAS love, but that it was more pure and didn’t need to be displayed in that way
Fun fact, The Doctor's thing about needing to press that Big Red Button is actually a subconscious holdover from a regeneration from before Eccelston's Doctor... one you have yet to see
The reason they shoot the news guy like that is because they can't show news in TV shows full screen, so it has to be obvious that it's not actually real
In the original BBC DVD release, this particular episode was released as part of series 2. Most fans would consider each Christmas special to be the beginning to it's respective series.
I find that quite interesting, as the BBC have recently contradicted that by putting all of the Christmas specials with the series that came before them on BBC iPlayer.
My favourite thing about this episode is that by the Doctor's standards, the Sycorax are useless. The human race is totally unable to deal with them but the Doctor, even in a post-regenerative state, toys around with them for a bit and then sends them running away whimpering. "A man who could make a whole army turn away at the very mention of his name."
Merry Christmas. Being a Doctor Who fan can be tough, because you're going to be expected to mourn your favorite character dying every few years, and then you're going to be asked to fall in love with someone completely new straight afterwards. And, each time it happens, you'll think "I will never fall in love again," but you will. The sun will rise again, the rain will eventually stop, and The Doctor will dance one more time. It's like life in a way. There are always endings but there also always beginnings.
Just found your videos, loving your Doctor Who reactions! About ten years ago I discovered Doctor Who and started deep-diving into both new who and classic who. Of everything I've seen, the Ninth Doctor is still my number one. Glad you're enjoying your journey and thanks for sharing it with us! "Allons y!"
Mickey is like that character in a John Hughes film who has an unrequited crush on a girl whose unrequited crush on another guy stops her from noticing him.... except that he's already meant to be her boyfriend!?
Great reaction. I'm always amazed how great writing can end up evoking such strong emotions when it leads to just uttering a single word, "Fantastic!" Part of the fun of Doctor Who is noticing remnants of previous Doctors shining through the current Doctor now and then.
Glad you could see this ep! Just want to say something and you don't need to know this but as seen with the anger and temper 10 has, most of this episode was with the 9th Doctor in mind so that is why he might seem so sweet one time and the next rough, it is as I sad before, because originally this script was to be given to the 9th Doctor rather than the 10th Doctor
I completely agree!! :) At one point during a future episode, I even say during the reaction that I wanted them to do a Mickey spin-off. I would have NEVER guessed back in series one that I would ever say that.
Awesome. Haven't even watched the video just yet, but wanted to say, I found you earlier this week and ploughed through your first season of reactions. It's lovely watching you go on this journey and I'm looking forward to so much of what's ahead for you. :)
I think I read that the "don't you think she looks tired?" was a reference to Britains first female prime minister Margaret Thatcher. Someone said she looked tired which made people start to doubt her fitness to lead
David and Billie have great chemisty that makes the transition as smooth as possible lol. By the end of this episode you can tell by the way they look at each other, the really important things remain the same, despite the new look. Trust, series 2 is gonna be fantastic!
I will be honest David and Matt are my favorite doctors I love chris but David became the first doctor I think of anytime the doctor is mentioned. Plus David is an amazing actor.
The outfit at the end is a nod to "Arthur dent" a character by Douglas Adams who was saved before earth was demolished to make way for a hyper bypass in his PJs and dressing gown.
So if your wondering. When you see they film this screen of news in universe and show them screen within screen. That is some broadcast regulations, so that news in fictional shows shall not be shown fullscreen and not be confused with real news. And btw this was the first episode of Dr Who I watched.
As a long time Doctor WHO fan, it's always sad to see a Doctor go, but I have always gotten into the new one within an episode or two. I love how you tell us where you are in the spoiler notice section, and allow us to know how far we can 'talk' to you about.
It’s so impressive how they manage to patch the disconnect between the audience and a new face playing the doctor so quickly, I was very young when the first series finished so my the first significant regeneration for me was tennant to smith and I loved smith so quickly, Matt smith is still my favourite doctor but I think I’ve been biased since I found out he’s from my home town
So you glad you like the spoiler notice section! :) This regeneration was a lot because it was my first and I really didn't know what to expect. Going to from 10 to 11 (while absolutely heartbreaking) was definitely easier because I already had one under my belt. I've also since gone through the transition from the first Doctor to the second in Classic Who and I do go into the first episode with the new Doctor wanting to like them. So, I think that helps.
@@BritanyBinges Nice! Patrick Troughton was my first Doctor and I didn't fully understand what I was watching at the time, I just knew great SciFi show from England. Based on the Doctor WHO USA Tour in 1986, I might have been 10 years old when I started watching
Did you see the pudsey cutaway, the 2006 Children in Need special? ) A scene they showed as part of a charity special about a month before this aired. Its a scene in the TARDIS that picks up right where the last episode ended.
David Tennant is my favourite doctor who and all of his episodes of his era as the doctor are amazing and really well written and this was my introduction to doctor who and this episode changed me into a whovian and i feel in love with the doctor that my older sister grew up with and Matt smith is my doctor and always will be
Have you seen the minisode in-between The Parting of the Ways and The Christmas Invasion? It's quite fun it shows Rose's reaction immediately after he regenerates
It’s interesting how they choose to introduce Tennant so slowly, only really having him appear in the second half and the first half be carried by the characters we already know in Rose, Mickey and Jackie.
A lot of people think Jodi was the only Nuwho Doctor not to have a Christmas special, but Chris Eccleston didn't have one either, although he had an episode that was set at Christmas but it originally aired in April.
Merry Christmas! 🎄 I am so happy to see you were touched by the end. I love that final scene, too! My thoughts on this were that I was skeptical at the start of the episode and loved him by the end. As for the "romantic" nature of this relationship, my "theory" was that this Doctor was borne of Rose's kiss, predisposing them to an enhanced emotional connection. Secondly, it's David Tennant, recently of Casanova fame! RTD clearly saw that as the template for this Doctor. Half the fandom was destined to fall in love with him, so it only made sense that Rose would, too.
I love this one, it’s so eerily done when the sycorax make the humans walk up to the top of the buildings. It feels very large scale considering it’s a monster we’ve never seen before
I find the whole 900 year old space alien flirting with the 19 year old human girl thing a bit weird but other than that David's great (though Chris is the type of Doctor I prefer), though then you know how great he is as I know you're far ahead and I know you've decided to with the show, can't wait to see your reactions to what is to come!
I could see why it would seem a bit a weird, but I also have a weakness for vampire love stories and there are always extremely large age gaps in those as well. So, I guess it's just something I'm more comfortable with/used to.
I think that 9, 10, 11 and 12 are all comparable in terms of how much I adore them. They are all different enough that they bring something special to the character. I, like everyone else, have my favorite but its like they are a 9.9/10 and the others are 9.8/10 (no spoilers )
1:14 agreed. Mickey is a really good character. Meanwhile I'm not a huge fan of Rose, primarily because of how she treats Mickey. He deserves better than someone who clearly doesn't actually care about him all that much, but at this point in time he hasn't realized this yet.
5:42 That is interesting.. I didn't know Torchwood even existed until Doctor Who had been around for like 8 seasons. *no spoilers ahead* I didn't even realize you could be further ahead in torchwood without being spoiled. I always thought Torchwood (the TV show) didn't exist until ... this episode, basically lol so watching that show before this was unthinkable. I am likely wrong though.
Just to clarify, there was a large gap of time between when I recorded this episode (April 2022) and when it was released on TH-cam (December 2022). I started reacting to Torchwood during that gap (July 2022).
Yeh, the Christmas episodes aren't really part of the regular series, so they often get labeled episode 14 or 0. In my opinion, the show really gets good in this series and I can't wait to see how you react to it.
If it helps, BBC iPlayer list The Christmas Invasion, and all subsequent specials, as part of their preceding series, instead of the beginning of their next series. As the BBC owns Doctor Who (for the most part), then I would argue that is their official position. Conversely, the BBC DVD range included the specials with the following seasons, although that was more for commercial convenience than anything else. Anyway, merry Christmas!
Apparently the queen watched Doctor who and Christopher eckleston was her favorite, but you will find david tennent will take your love for doctor who to the next level
This episode is a great episode, I do feel it is a slightly weaker episode in the first couple of acts as Tennant is largely just removed from it, and instead of Rose having any sense of agency with the plot she just sort of cowers and assumes he's gone, which is a valid response but does feel a bit over dramatic to say he's gone when he's literally just lying in the background of the same shot and helped her already and gave her some more info to work with. Outside of the weaker elements, I do enjoy Harriet's return, as well as the grey choice of her wanting to avoid the risk of the Sycorax returning, and a lot of iconic things happen (like Tennant's first scenes, Jackie's "I'm gonna be killed by a Christmas tree", etc). I'm excited for some more emotional moments coming up soon in series 2 and for your thoughts on them too!
@@BritanyBinges Maybe it's just me, i liked Voyage of the Damned out of all the Tenth Doctor's Christmas Specials and not because of Kylie Minogue as Astrid (she's big in Australia & everywhere except the US) & because i've listened to her older songs & acting roles in the roles and yeah she was in Neighbours while i've never really watched it much, i do know of the show (considering Fremantle & Amazon Freevee is making Neighbours coming back again in the spotlight next year as one of the longest Australian drama shows of all time along with Home and Away another drama that's been around the mid to late 80s
5:12 I don't blame you. Sometimes people will be like, "I'll tell you the juicy details later, after this episode." and I'll be like "mmmmm... Bahh okay." *presses play* (10 seconds later) *presses pause* "okay so about those details??! It's been hours! I can't wait any longer this is absolute torture! I must know! Tell me!" "Them: It's literally been 10 seconds. Watch the show." lol
Hi, new subscriber here. Love your Who reactions, and so pleased you loved season 1 (or season 27 as us old Who fans would call it), and loved Christopher Eccleston’s portrayal of the Doctor. I loved him too, and went on to love all of the next Nu Who Doctors as well. It’ll be quite some time before you catch up with the new current series (out in 2024), but once you are up to speed, perhaps you might consider doing Classic Who? You’d have 26 years and 7 Doctors to get through, but it will be the trip of a lifetime! Sure the effects and budget were poor compared to the money thrown at the series now, but each of these 7 Doctors have an amazing amount of classic stories that easily rival (and sometimes surpass), the Nu Who stories, and I think you would enjoy the different eras that each Doctor can give you! For now, though, enjoy The Christmas Invasion and welcome aboard David Tennant as the 10th Doctor!
I was just wondering where I had seen Harriet Jones's assistant (yes, I know who she is), and then you brought up Coyote Ugly. Thanks for answering my question.
The thing I find the weirdest is how David Tennant is Scottish, I mean that's one of the reasons I love him but yeah he is SCOTTISHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Even though I knew who he was and had seen him in Harry Potter, I had never actually heard him speak outside of that so I had NO CLUE he was Scottish until someone over on Patreon told me. It's still weird to hear his real accent. lol
From what I have been told "looks tired" is the sort of euphemism the British press might use for "is a drinker." I prefer to think that's what the Doctor meant rather than the sexist implications of the job weighing too heavily on her.
Interesting, I never took it in a sexist way. To me, the idea that people thought she couldn't handle the weight/responsibility of the job had nothing to do with her sex and more to do with her paranoid responses after the doctor threatened her.
Just found your channel. Brilliant. Loving your reactions. Merry Christmas!! I know you're much further along, will you eventually be releasing everything on youtube or just patreon.
Thank you! So glad you're loving the reactions! Merry Christmas to you as well! All of the actual episodes will be coming to TH-cam. The non-episode reactions (like the born again special, bloopers, tardisodes, etc.) will be Patreon exclusives.
The greatest Doctor. Some have differing opinions (tastes vary) but numbers don’t lie. Also, in terms of who truly became The Doctor and played it best, was the most consistent through the best and worst episodes with any company that has to go to David Tennant. Much like how Tom Baker was the greatest of the classic era. There’s a reason they had the most seasons. I may be wrong on this but I wouldn’t be surprised if you were absolutely wrecked when it came to saying goodbye to this Doctor. Of course, there are some who prefer Eccleston and some who prefer others. My favourite new version Doctors in order (mentioning others by just number in case considered spoiler.) David Tennant Doctor no. 12 Christopher Eccleston (tied with 12 but I just feel 12’s best moments are even more epic) Doctor no. 11 (Also fantastic, don’t get me wrong. All of these were excellent Doctors) Doctor no. 13 (I don’t feel as bad as some do about this one, but their best moments were…absent.) Bear in mind these are favourite Doctors as in who I felt played the role best or enjoyed the most in the role. Not necessarily favourite eras.
Interesting, for me it's 10, 9, 11, 12, though I haven't quite finished 12 and haven't gotten to 13 yet. And, honestly, I love 11 as a character, and I think he might have been above 9 for me if RTD had been showrunner still.
Ok first off Merry christmas and welcome to the David Tennant era :). This episode does count as Series 2 episode 0 or just a "special" inbetween seasons alot of Classic fans including myself refer to this as Season 28 as i consider Classic and NuWho all the one show instead of separate. The Doctor changes clothes whenever he regenerates to fit their personality and it becomes that Doctor's trademark like for example a scarf, cape, hat or a leather jacket as each different actor does their own take similar to James Bond. Although The Tenth Doctor is flirty i like to think of that because he looks young and just trying to impress Rose as i consider him an ancient 900 year old a-sexual alien i'm not the biggest fan of Doctor/Companion romances for me personally but alot of people seem to like it. Overall it's a great starting point to Tennant and the Sycorax costumes and make-up were fantastic.
Thank you! I'm actually in series five over on Patreon, but I did come to love David/10 as well. :) There's a new Doctor Who reaction on TH-cam every Saturday. :)
I have started reacting to Classic Who over on Patreon. Until the missing episodes, I had the Patrons vote for which stories I should watch from each season. During the period of missing episodes, I'm watching every story the US version of BritBox has. I'm currently on The Tomb of the Cybermen with the second doctor. :)
So cool that we're getting your rxns to Tennant now, and also your 1st xmas special. He's not my favorite Doctor of new Who (though I do like him,) but after Capaldi he's probably the best actor. Also gotta say I'm not sure I disagree with Harriet Jones at the end. In general it's probably not wise to 2nd guess the Doctor on alien related matters, but it's not like he's a super reliable guy. I don't think I'd put every last egg in that basket.
Thank you, please forgive me for not emailing picture, but can’t find your email address…being a fan of the classic show, it can take a while to get used to a new doctor/companion. Having to adjust to new characters can take time to adjust. Yes that’s Adam too …
Shame this wasn’t posted tommorow for Christmas day. An average story, but tennant steals the show when he properly comes into it in the final act. Did you see the mini episode ‘born again’ set just after the series 1 finale?
It already was Christmas day in some parts of the world. ;) Also, as Malcolm mentioned, I did do a reaction to Born Again over on Patreon as a bonus/exclusive reaction.
I see you seen the mini episode titled born again would like see your response on TH-cam. I hoping to get Christopher Dr. Figure for Christmas if I been good
Unfortunately, the minisode won't be coming to TH-cam as bonus/exclusive reactions like that are one of the promised perks of the Patreon membership. :-/ But, I do hope you get the figure! *fingers crossed*
Like mother, like daughter. Rose got her continuous flirting with every young man in trousers from her mother. It's no coincidence that Rose was called the Space Tart.
@@BritanyBinges he's one of only 2 Doctors in the entire 60 year history of the show I don't like 😅 I do think there's a lot of nostalgia blindness when it comes to him, for a lot of people he was the Doctor when they discovered the show, but there's so many better before and after him
I mean, I started with Eccleston, but Tennant is by far my favorite. Honestly, I think there's a lot of nostalgia bias for people that watched Classic Who first, that makes them dislike Tennant (or like him less at least). I feel like I've frequently seen the sentiment from Classic Who viewers that Tennant was too sexual/romantic/emotional or too human. For me, since I haven't seen Classic Who, I didn't have any pre-conceptions about what the doctor is "supposed" to be like. So Eccleston created that character for me, and Tennant carried it on. But honestly, I think that loving/disliking Tennant as the doctor has a lot more to do with the type of person you are, and what kind of stories you value more than anything else. For me, I fell in love with Tennant (and the Russel T Davies era) because of the emotional and character approach to storytelling. The focus was entirely on the characters and their emotional journeys and experiences, with the episode and season plots serving as tools to deliver that. post-RTD (and, as I gather, pre-RTD), the focus was more on the plot and the concepts. And for me, the character/emotion-driven approach is vastly superior. Without it, I struggle to be invested, or find as much value in the story. But that's because of who I am, because I'm a deeply emotional person, and I've always considered emotions to be perhaps the most important elements of the human experience. And Tennant just exemplified those values far beyond what any other doctor I've seen did, and puts him in a different tier for me. And then you add his incredible acting on top of that, and it's just nearly impossible to beat for me. And then there's the romantic element, which I think is one of the main contentions for people, and a reason so many like Tennant less. But to me, that's even more of the reason I love him. And again, that's because of who I am. Because to me, love is one of the most important and powerful things in life. And the way that the doctor loved Rose, and couldn't let her go, almost exactly mirrors my own values for love, and makes this story all the more valuable and beautiful in my eyes. I guess what I'm trying to say is that it's easy to assume that people are just blinded by nostalgia when they like specific doctors over others, but I really think it's just reflection of how viewers' values and personalities differ, and what kinds of stories and people they are more drawn to or captivated by.
@@peterlewis2178 I came into Doctor Who not really knowing who Tennant was and he became my favorite Doctor. I do agree about the emotional part, bc I actually loved that about his Doctor. However, even though he's my favorite, the romantic subplot was not my favorite ;)
I'm still honestly baffled about the turn of events with Harriet. I don't think Harriet is a bad person at all and it never really sat well with me how they handled that whole thing. So, I was glad when she got a little bit of redemption in The End of Time.
PK Starstrom No I disagree with that she wiped out a whole race in that ship for all we know there might had been a few innocent Sycorax beings who didn't want any part of their leaders up bringings there might had been families and children in that ship and what Harriet did was murder and makes her no better than them the Doctor had every right to be angry with her if she couldn't handle the pressure then she did not deserve to be a leader.
A lot of people feel that way I think, but I definitely side with the doctor on that. Granted, I don't entirely blame her, and I definitely don't think she deserved what she got, but I definitely think that it was wrong. The same way I think killing people in war is wrong. It's still killing, murder even. We desensitize ourselves, rationalize, say it's justified, but it's still ending a life, most of the time a life not too dissimilar from our own. And if you ever have the option to not kill, I think that's pretty much universally the moral decision.
i always felt bad for mickey because rose and him were literally dating and the doctor basically stole her from him. you telling mickey to just move on is a little insensitive lol.
I see it as the opposite of insensitive. It's actually me wanting him to stop getting his heart broken over and over again by someone who very obviously wants to be with someone else. Mickey was clearly not a great boyfriend at the start and Rose was clearly not super into him even then. I mean, it took her a while to even notice an Auton was impersonating him. At this point in the show, she was fully into the Doctor and everyone could see it. He definitely did need to move on.
Think about it this way. You're in a relationship and your partner almost dies several times so you're obviously going to be extremely protective but your partner gets offended by how protective you're being and is swooning over an alien they just met less than 24 hours ago and then some more aliens kidnap you and you are literally unable to do anything about it. Then after everything is seemingly back to normal, your partner sarcastically thanks you for not helping at all (even though you couldn't) and then they run off with the alien.
Jackie screaming "I'm gOiNg to gEt KilLed bY A ChrIStmAs TrEEeEE!!!" will never not be iconic
I almost didn't include that in the TH-cam version, but I just couldn't bring my myself to cut it out. It had to stay. lol

Mickey is like that character in a John Hughes film who has an unrequited crush on a girl whose unrequited crush on another guy stops her from noticing him.... except that he's already meant to be her boyfriend!?
HAHA... I feel like this perfectly sums it up. lol
Great reaction. I'm always amazed how great writing can end up evoking such strong emotions when it leads to just uttering a single word, "Fantastic!" Part of the fun of Doctor Who is noticing remnants of previous Doctors shining through the current Doctor now and then.
Thank you! Yeah, I wasn't really anticipating crying over just one word, but here we are. lol
Glad you could see this ep! Just want to say something and you don't need to know this but as seen with the anger and temper 10 has, most of this episode was with the 9th Doctor in mind so that is why he might seem so sweet one time and the next rough, it is as I sad before, because originally this script was to be given to the 9th Doctor rather than the 10th Doctor
all the positive/negative feels of a new Doctor ..... love it EVERY time
You taught me something new by the way! Had never recognised Adam Garcia from this episode ever over the years!
micky is great, his arc of character growth is amazing
I completely agree!! :) At one point during a future episode, I even say during the reaction that I wanted them to do a Mickey spin-off. I would have NEVER guessed back in series one that I would ever say that.
Awesome. Haven't even watched the video just yet, but wanted to say, I found you earlier this week and ploughed through your first season of reactions. It's lovely watching you go on this journey and I'm looking forward to so much of what's ahead for you. :)
I just did the same. Can’t wait to see more of her thoughts as we go. No spoilers.
Same. Must be the algorithm (praise be). Binged it all yesterday.
There’s a trend in this thread, I found the channel this morning and have been watching it throughout the day, I can feel a Doctor Who rewatch coming
Thank you so much everyone! This was a lovely comment thread to come across as I start my day. :)
I think I read that the "don't you think she looks tired?" was a reference to Britains first female prime minister Margaret Thatcher. Someone said she looked tired which made people start to doubt her fitness to lead
I think you're right as others have mentioned that now as well. So interesting!
And a towel, always gotta know where your towel is.
So if your wondering. When you see they film this screen of news in universe and show them screen within screen. That is some broadcast regulations, so that news in fictional shows shall not be shown fullscreen and not be confused with real news. And btw this was the first episode of Dr Who I watched.
I didn't realize that was a thing prior to reading the comments on this video. Thanks for sharing!
This regeneration was a lot because it was my first and I really didn't know what to expect.
Britany has seen it, the reaction to it is up on her Patreon 🙂
Adam Garcia who plays Alex in this Doctor Who episode was Kevin O'Donnell in "Coyote Ugly", and also the voice of Kangaroo Jack in "Kangaroo Jack".
Yeah, I was obsessed with Coyote Ugly when it came out and had a HUGE crush on him. That's why I was so excited to see him in this episode. :)
David Tennant is my favourite doctor who and all of his episodes of his era as the doctor are amazing and really well written and this was my introduction to doctor who and this episode changed me into a whovian and i feel in love with the doctor that my older sister grew up with and Matt smith is my doctor and always will be
In the U.K. we call these episodes the specials or Christmas specials. We don’t relay count them as part of the series
Have you seen the minisode in-between The Parting of the Ways and The Christmas Invasion? It's quite fun it shows Rose's reaction immediately after he regenerates
Yes, her reaction to it is up on Patreon
As Malcolm mentioned, I did react to it and it's posted on Patreon as a bonus/exclusive reaction over there.
@@BritanyBinges which tier do I need? :)
@@flimpeenflarmpoon1353 The bonus reactions would be available to the NuWho, Whoniverse, and The Whole Shebang tiers.
The first time you have to get used to a new Doctor after regeneration, welcome to the Doctor Who fandom for real. Enjoy the ride.
This is still one of the stronger Christmas episodes for me. Great reaction as always! :)
It’s interesting how they choose to introduce Tennant so slowly, only really having him appear in the second half and the first half be carried by the characters we already know in Rose, Mickey and Jackie.
Yeah, I feel like they handled it perfectly.
Thanks for the reaction, can't wait for this era. Seems so long after 9s short series. Merry Christmas!
A lot of people think Jodi was the only Nuwho Doctor not to have a Christmas special, but Chris Eccleston didn't have one either, although he had an episode that was set at Christmas but it originally aired in April.
I didn't realize she didn't/doesn't have a Christmas special. :-/
@@BritanyBinges she's had new year's specials but not an actual Christmas special.
It feels very large scale considering it’s a monster we’ve never seen before
I've been getting my older brother to watch this with me recently and we just watched it a few hours ago! Great reaction as always :)
Thanks! What a great bonding experience for you two!!
theres also a minisode in between parting of the ways and this that has roses full reaction to 10
pretty sure its on youtube, theres a few minisodes along the series
Thanks! I actually did react to it, but it's a bonus/exclusive reaction over on Patreon.
As AMAZING as the 10th Doctor is...11 will forever be my favorite!
I'm nearing the end of his first series over on Patreon. I'm liking him so far. :)
Yeah, I came to really care for Mickey and, while I do love Rose, how she treated him is definitely one of my least favorite things about her.
I DON'T KNOWWWW!!!!
😂😂😂😂
P. S. your reactions just got yourself a new viewer :) keep up the great work x
Thank you so much! So glad you're enjoying them! :)
Merry Christmas! A Christmas special reaction on the 24th? Perfect timing!
Thank you! Merry Christmas to you as well!
This episode is one of my favourites, such a good transition. The humour!
He is my second fav doctor ♥️
Also merry Christmas! What a timely release. :)
Thank you! Merry Christmas to you as well!
First off Merry Christmas in Sydney, Australia on Dec 25th as we are a few hours instead
Merry Christmas to you as well!! :)
😂😂😂 Yeah, I have basically zero patience or chill. lol
The Christmas specials are a bit bit weird, but they always are included as part of the previous years season for numbering reasons
Yeah, I'm in series 11 over on Patreon and I've just labeled them as an additional episode at the end of each series for my organizational purposes.
Britany has been reacting to the Classic series on Patreon, and is now up to the second Doctor's The Tomb of the Cybermen: Episode 1.
I was just wondering where I had seen Harriet Jones's assistant (yes, I know who she is), and then you brought up Coyote Ugly. Thanks for answering my question.
Happy I could help. :)
Welcome to the new era! David Tennant is without a doubt my top favorite Doctor and there is so much I can't wait for you to see.
My favourite new version Doctors in order (mentioning others by just number in case considered spoiler.)
David Tennant
Doctor no. 12
Christopher Eccleston (tied with 12 but I just feel 12’s best moments are even more epic)
Doctor no. 11 (Also fantastic, don’t get me wrong. All of these were excellent Doctors)
Doctor no. 13 (I don’t feel as bad as some do about this one, but their best moments were…absent.)
Bear in mind these are favourite Doctors as in who I felt played the role best or enjoyed the most in the role.
While every Doctor is amazing is his own way. I love 10 the most
We call it the Christmas Special 🎄🙂
Tea was indeed the solution to everything ^^
Great reaction
I m sure you will loved this doctor ( the best for me)
I hope seeing more reaction very soon 😊😊
Thank you! I'm actually in series five over on Patreon, but I did come to love David/10 as well. :)

I want you to watch the classic series at some point. It may take a while, but, it's worth it
I have started reacting to Classic Who over on Patreon.
OOooh, Tenth Doctor, how I miss thee...
i'm loving your reactions ^-^
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you're loving them!!
Good Christmas special nothing amazing but still engaging and great intro to Tennant
the actor that played Mickey got cancelled...as did the actor that played Captain Jack
I have heard about both of them (as well as the actor who played Adam).

I think you're the first person I've seen who said they can't stand Tennant. I'll forgive you, though, since you seem to like Christopher. ;)
@@BritanyBinges he's one of only 2 Doctors in the entire 60 year history of the show I don't like 😅
I do think there's a lot of nostalgia blindness when it comes to him, for a lot of people he was the Doctor when they discovered the show, but there's so many better before and after him
@@BritanyBinges just found out you're ahead on Patreon so I joined so I can skip straight to Matt Smith😂
I continue to feel like Harriet Jones did the right thing and The Doctor was wrong to do that to her
I'm still honestly baffled about the turn of events with Harriet.
Coyote ugly? Seriously? They look nothing alike but I can see why u think that same hair kinda lool
It's the same actor who plays the male lead in Coyote Ugly. Adam Garcia.
