You must be an editing whiz kid to get this episode out so fast! I loved how 15 treated 10/14. Self love, respect, genuine concern. No barrier, no sarcasm, no tension; just two people being good to each other. I’m interested to see where the season goes. These 3 episodes had some stumbles, but the relationship between the Doctor and Donna was a joy to see. And I’m glad to see that the Doctor finally got his reward.
Interesting choice with 15/14 but makes sense given his story and the doctor in general. And ty! Tried my best to get a good edit and as quick as possible :)

I had the same reaction - as last week's episode ended it suddenly struck me that we were going to lose David again and I was reminded of how sorry I was to see him go last time. No disrespect to Matt Smith - I was totally sold on him well before the end of his first episode, but I thought it was going to hurt to see the regeneration. RTD gives us a happy ending, a tantalising thread to play with in the future, and nice clean start for the new Doctor (there'll be no need to keep referencing the traumas of his previous lives).
I was absolute blown away by the conclusion of the 60th anniversary. I was screaming and crying through the whole duration. Wow though I just cannot wait for Ncuti to show us his new Doctor, I am already excited for the upcoming special and the new series. ❤
This was an amazing episode. One of my favorites ever. The Celestial Toymaker was a top tier villain. NPH did outstanding. The funhouse was proper creepy. The play with the puppets he put on to catch Donna up on what’s happened with The Doctor since he left her was 👌. Digs deep into his tortured psyche and how he copes with leading them to death. Oh, well that’s alright! I know it’s gonna be contreversal but the bi-reneregation is such a fun direction for the franchise. I was so happy to see this face get to be part of Donna’s family and be totally content at the end. David Tennant’s Doctor was the most “human” of all The Doctors after all. We paid off that line he gave Rose ages ago about her getting to live the one adventure he never can. Just living normal life day-after-day. But he has a Tardis of his own, so he could merge back with Ncuti’s Doctor in the future. We could see a spin off. This is WILD!

I love this. Its took a little while after the episode for me to get it but the doctor we've been watching for 60 years finally gets to take a break with his new family. The 15th doctor gets to carry on with the adventures in time and space. Also it gives us an excuse to have a Doctor and Donna spin off lol.
From my understanding 14 will have his therapy and go on to be 15 so they eventually become one again. The toymaker was an amazing choice instead of the usual Master finale and I hope we get more classic villians making their long deserved return. I feel like bi regeneration is a concept that could have been done so badly like the timless child but RTD still pulled through in the end.
The Doctor lied - bi-regeneration has happened before, and to the Doctor no less. See classic Who episode "Logopolis" (although we see the other end, the two returning to one, in that episode).
I remember finding your reactions to Who a while back, it's been quite the journey. Almost feels just as unreal to still be here with your reactions after all this time as it does with the show! Surprisingly really loved this episode. Ncuti won my heart almost instantly. I'm interested to see what they do with the changes. Idk if it'll end up amazing, but I hope it does. It's pretty easy for this type of move to fall flat. It's ludicrous, joyous, a happy ending of miracles and then some... but I think they managed to pull it off. Who has always been just a goofy and miraculous as it can be heavy and tragic. Love your reactions, this journey has been fantastic, and here's to looking forward to the show's future! Good luck Ncuti!
I loved it the fact Dona and everyone on unit roof and the 14th doctor didn't realise the 15th doctor had no pants on talk about awkward regeneration 😂😂😂
People are going to complain about the bi-generation, but if they take a moment it makes sense. The whole planet has become a realm of the Toymaker, in which it is stated that all normal rules are suspended. By default, this has to apply to the Doctor as well, meaning that one of the least understood events in the universe, a Time Lord regeneration, would be allowed to go totally bonkers. Of course, the only question left is whether Tennant will be included in any of the spin offs Davies has planned, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.
Wow, that something I hadn't considered. If the rules Toymaker had established was in effect when the regeneration happened. He didn't even know what was going on when Doctor had to split.
I loved this episode. I'm happy the doctors both survived and 10/14 got the ending he deserved. 10/10. Excited for ncuti to begin his run. Love the energy he brings
RTD gets mad respect for even *attempting* to put a satisfying, happy bow on 60 years of stories AND letting the adventure continue. Honestly my biggest issue with this episode is I didn’t find the Toymaker stuff all that engaging. Filtering the entirety of human interaction through games is a cool idea, thematically, but the whole plot just didn’t hold my attention.
I felt like it wasn't very well patched. The Toymaker was a very posing threat, but he didn't feel that way while playing against the Doctors, I felt like he lacked the engagement in the game, and the commitment to not lose. Sure, he would never break the rules, but I honestly didn't expect him to just give up after seeing the ball fall off the building, at least have him jump off the building to catch the ball, 'cause if he did, in theory he would win since it never bounced on the ground, then have the Doctors try to figure a way out to catch it in time. That would make the last game more climatic, 'cause the way they just threw a bunch of cuts of them throwing the ball around until the Toymaker let it slip felt VERY anticlimatic and honestly... not worthy of the character at all
This Toymaker character was a mess. Was the Toymaker a showman, a puppetmaster behind the scenes, or a participant in games? Those don't really fit together. Why does a compulsive game player set a trap for a peerless rival just to play the most trivial games possible? There might be reasons for the Doctor to pick the most trivial games but they were not explained either.
on disney plus, in the subtitles, the 14th doctor (david tennant) is renamed the 10th doctor, so i think he might have his own new cycle of regeneration
Complete aside: You don't EVEN know how hard I squealed when I heard you mention Farscape. I love that show but it seems so few people have seen it. You have a big fan now!
I loved that they left it so David could "guest" when required, or even do the odd "special" with Donna. Ncuti Gatwa's Dr. was full of fun and engergy, just like David was. That' what was missing with the last two Whos.
I love the fact that the mad man in a blue box has the most authority in the earth. It’s hilarious, but at the same time it reminds me of the situation this planet is in right now.
11:50 There was a line in an old 60's episode where Jamie asks how something works and The Doctor says: "Well, It's quite difficult to explain Jamie, you see- " Victoria: "Oh, Never mind how it works! What's it for?" It's from the Enemy of the World:)
I had to watch this episode twice because the toymaker looked so flipping familiar xD Neil loves to play the villains and he does it brilliantly. I never watched his shows when I was a kid, but I did see him as Count Olaf in A series of unfortunate events, and LOVED him in that show!
"He's gonna grab an eight... OMG!!!" That was just perfect dude. :D This episode was outstanding. Tennant, Tate, Harris, Ncut, everyone shined. Harris looked like he was having a blast doing the dance. Really looking forward to seeing what comes next. Also, if I had a nickel for every time Tennant's doctor is split in two & one goes on to live a domestic life with a former companion, I'd have two nickels. "Which isn't a lot, but it's strange it happened twice."
Apparently the BBC iPlayer had extra notations from RTD during the episode that said the bigeneration caused split timelines where all the past doctors revived too so now they're all free to continue doing their own thing as well
Melanie Bush - companion of the 6th (Baker) & 7th (McCoy) Doctors - a computer programmer who never touvhed a computer in the series until this episode.
I wonder how many others have caught on that the woman's hand who picks up the tooth where the Master was trapped, looks exactly like the woman's hand who picks up the ring that came from the Master's finger. From the Cult of Saxon?
I wish Tennant had said, at the table with the Nobles, that "I didnt think I'd ever want to stay in one place. But now that I'm here, with you, I don't wanna go."
Our boy actually gets to retire and be happy. Who would have thought we'd ever see that happen to The Doctor. Loved Ncuti Gatwa's intro I am keen to see where we go from here
@@failwhale34 fan theory but remember the 50th where the Curator (Tom Baker) said "you'll be revisiting the few but the old favourites aye" so what if this bi regeneration (David) will become the CURATOR
I really liked the episode overall. I get what you’re saying about some of the effects, but the story and the characters made up for it to me. I’m sure this new “bi-generation” is going to divide fans, but in my opinion, if we’re comparing this event to the timeless children event, I prefer this one. It exists to give us a satisfying conclusion to the 10/14 Doctor as well as making Donna a part of that happy ending. Super stoked for the new Doctor! As always, great reaction video! Keep it up!
I'm in the "loved it" camp - my favourite of the specials! I had a brief wobble with the bigeneration, but it lasted like 20 seconds tops and I was back into it. I was sorry the story seemed to invalidate the other Toymaker appearances in spin-off media (such as the utterly brilliant audio _Solitaire),_ but fans have already come up with workarounds - thank you RTD for the line about making a jigsaw of the Doctor's lives. Nice touches include writing the Toymaker as explicitly racist, which goes a long way towards redeeming the reuse of a character from a racist story; the oh-so-cartoony mallet to the TARDIS (and Ncuti's apology afterwards); the clothes sharing; and the numerous little character moments given to the side cast. Incidentally, have you ever watched Dr Horrible's Singalong Blog, also starring Neil Patrick Harris? If not, I recommend it. It's less than 45 minutes, so not a big commitment.
Its on the bts videos on youtube, but weirdly the big puppet was a real puppet with the actor heads recorded in the same room in the same position and comped over it. It doesnt look that real though, so dunno what happened there. The smaller full puppets look great though so i imagine theyre the same thing without any cgi needed
The family was always RTD intent for 9/10. Rose was the 1st love/ Martha was the rebound girl / Donna was the best friend / sister, WIlf was the father/grandad figure. This is how I saw the 9/10 run for many years already so I am perfectly fine with this resolution, and thought the episode was great!

parts of this episode were setups for the UNIT spinoff that's being developed.
11: I could retire and become The Curator
The Curator: I really think you might
👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀
The actress who plays the new companion played a smackhead teenager in one of our most popular soaps “coronation street”
the fact that 9's regeneration music was playing when Melanie said "fantastic".... *chef's kiss*
15:00 If Doctor Who is gonna do crazy shit, they may as well do fun crazy shit.
That would make the last game more climatic, 'cause the way they just threw a bunch of cuts of them throwing the ball around until the Toymaker let it slip felt VERY anticlimatic and honestly... not worthy of the character at all
@@Koraki0000 So true but that the joys of only making 3 episode's definitely needed more episodes to make the toy maker part more worthy.
Yeah the music is a touch of Matt Smith's "Mad Man With a Blue Box." Because he's definitely got a touch of that Madman!
on disney plus, in the subtitles, the 14th doctor (david tennant) is renamed the 10th doctor, so i think he might have his own new cycle of regeneration
Complete aside: You don't EVEN know how hard I squealed when I heard you mention Farscape. I love that show but it seems so few people have seen it. You have a big fan now!
Ayy! Thank you :) fellow Farscape fan. We reacted to most of S1 here and finished it on patreon
3:31 This whole scene just called out the entire planet in a way that I could only ever DREAM of accomplishing. Simply beautiful.
The Doctor who didnt want to go, got to stay 🥺
😭
THE DOUBLE BUBBLE!
What'd **YOU** think of this one?
The 14th must be a special kind of Doctor. They usually don't hug when they meet themselves.
you were fast on this one. 10/10 for me personally
Tyty
I'm so happy that the Saturday episodes and Christmas specials are back.
Same. Hoping we have more regular who over the next few years
The daleks are gonna loose their shit when they learn there are now two doctors.
This is getting out of hand, now there's two of them!
I loved that they left it so David could "guest" when required, or even do the odd "special" with Donna. Ncuti Gatwa's Dr. was full of fun and engergy, just like David was. That' what was missing with the last two Whos.
Or... 10/14 has ALREADY guested ;-) Who knows? Who... knows?
"That's not my doctor, that's my nigga" I CAAAAAAANT TELL YOU HOW LOUD I SCREAMED! Yo thats gotta be on a tshirt.
😂😂😂 just might have ti
😂😂😂😂😂
11:42 Bonnie Langford (who plays Mel) is actually only 7 years older than David Tennant! She is 59 and he is 52.
so now the valeyard mystery is solved it is bi-generation, hope we get the doctor vs valeyard again that will be entertatining
Spice Up Your Life was a highlight moment along with the ending.
It was a fun montage
I love the fact that the mad man in a blue box has the most authority in the earth.
It’s hilarious, but at the same time it reminds me of the situation this planet is in right now.
11:50 There was a line in an old 60's episode where Jamie asks how something works and The Doctor says:
"Well, It's quite difficult to explain Jamie, you see- "
Victoria: "Oh, Never mind how it works! What's it for?"
It's from the Enemy of the World:)
This episode was outstanding.
Apparently the BBC iPlayer had extra notations from RTD during the episode that said the bigeneration caused split timelines where all the past doctors revived too so now they're all free to continue doing their own thing as well
I have a feeling Ncuti Gatwa is going to be an amazing doctor. This was my first time seeing him in anything and I really love his energy.
I seriously rate the time it’s taken for the reaction and the edit, straight on it 🎉👏🏻👏🏻
❤
I like the idea of 14 still being able to regenerate and thats the doctor who's the curator of the museum.
"We shitting the bed here, what are we doing?" Best response ever. that look on Tennant's face lol
Love this! Also the windex giggle joke made my day.
😂❤
The way Neil Patrick Harris said ‘killed by a bird’ … you know he’s think WTF happens in this show 😂
Melanie Bush - companion of the 6th (Baker) & 7th (McCoy) Doctors - a computer programmer who never touvhed a computer in the series until this episode.
The ending with the gold tooth, Maybe it's a hint that The Master may return at some point?
The Toymaker is only the third First Doctor villain to return, the other two are the Daleks and the Cybermen.
Let’s go
“Stooky Bill” was an actual thing. The very first television picture.
I wonder how many others have caught on that the woman's hand who picks up the tooth where the Master was trapped, looks exactly like the woman's hand who picks up the ring that came from the Master's finger. From the Cult of Saxon?
Ncuti Gatwa is an actor I know bugger all about, like Tennant and Smith when they started, so I'm really excited to see where we go from here!!
How did you release this so quickly. Are you a time lord?
16th
I wish Tennant had said, at the table with the Nobles, that "I didnt think I'd ever want to stay in one place. But now that I'm here, with you, I don't wanna go."
Doctor who is fun again
Make who fun again. Accomplished
Our boy actually gets to retire and be happy. Who would have thought we'd ever see that happen to The Doctor. Loved Ncuti Gatwa's intro I am keen to see where we go from here
Happy ending is deserved after his last go. And same here!
Keep it up!
I feel that! Thank you for the support 🎉
Dude, Danny Phantom was so sick when I was growing up! Absolutely loved that show
Failwhale: "I wonder who the shadow writer was for this episode"
Also Failwhale: "The Doctor's gonna draw an eight"
The family was always RTD intent for 9/10.
Rose was the 1st love/ Martha was the rebound girl / Donna was the best friend / sister, WIlf was the father/grandad figure.
This is how I saw the 9/10 run for many years already so I am perfectly fine with this resolution, and thought the episode was great!
Love that! I can totally see that
Solid episode and finally some rest for the Doctor. Great reaction and DW IS BACK BABY!!!
Woo! Ty :)
Love the inclusion of Trinity Wells AKA American Newswoman! Was a STAPLE of RTD1! ❤
4:00 oh my fucking GOD that'd be so funny. I'm just imagining them turning kate's thingy off and she immediately turns around to one of the black security guards like "N-!"
