My husband is diabetic and is allergic to artificial sweeteners. I have got 70/80% chocolate and made peanut and rice crisp chocolates, they’re small but enough to hit that spot, I have made a few different ones and only give him one or two a night. Works awesome

Been watching your channel lately... Was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes last year by my doctor, after being prediabetic for a while. My Family Care doctor has said that I won't need to take diabetes medications, so long as I can get my glucose levels in control through diet, exercise, etc. Your channel has really helped me adjust to being type 2.(changing my eating habits) I have also started taking cinnamon supplements in the evening with my dinner. My glucose has improved a lot. Thanks for the channel.

Hi, I am new to your channel...I am also diabetic (have been about a year now),,,and I've been so confused about it this whole time and never knew what to do because I just don't understand. I cut all sugar out of my diet 3 years ago when I was pre diabetic and most carbs (didn't give up my potatoes)...and I have had so much trouble with my sugar spiking that it's crazy...I refuse to take the metformin that they put me on and chose to fight it with diet and exercise....my A1C was 7.9 and I got it to drop down to 7.2....but my sugar still spikes...Your videos have helped me tremendously and I thank you for every one of them...Thank you so much for caring and sharing all this information...:)

I'm not diabetic but I make "coffee yogurt dupe using sour cream, instant coffee. And brown sugar to sweeten. So, sour cream tastes sweet by itself? It's got yogurt texture still. I haven't tried freezing it to see if I can use it for a freezer snack.

yes to me it has a slightly sweet taste.. i also use coco powder makes me feel like i'm eating pudding..i will sometimes put lemon juice in with the blueberries.. great combo.. the frozen ones taste like frozen yogurt if done right.. i'm going to try the coffee version.. that sounds yummy@@recoveringsoul755

Hello! I'm a type 2 diabetic and I prefer stevia as my sweetener of choice :) Thanks for the snack recommendations. I do have to ask though, the sugar free stuff usually gives me horrible diarrhea? Apparently I'm sensitive to things like xantham gum or whatever they use in sugar free/gluten free foods. Any ideas why that is? I have IBS-C too. I'm definitely subscribing, I noticed I can have lower sugar though and that doesn't upset me too much.

Sweetener itself has a bowl-loosening effect. I bake no-sugar snacks and the sweetener packaging actually has warnings about excessive consumption. You can play around with different sweeteners/amounts to see what your body handles best.

What about dates? I sometimes make stuffed dates. I stuff them with cream cheese, and sometimes top with nuts. (Pistachios, slivered almonds, walnuts) Could also drizzle with dark chocolate. My other treat is frozen banana chunks or grapes, drizzled with dark chocolate. Can be made by stringing onto a skewer, like shish kabobs, only with fruit. Actually quite delicious and satisfying.

Hi, love your snack choices. Recently diagnosed with diabetes and when I found out chocolate pudding is a GO TO snack for diabetics I was so excited. I was looking on Line and it says on the Jello Brand that it contains Maltodextrin, which I'm reading is higher then regular table sugar on the GI index- ironically I just bought Hardbite potato chips today and looked closer to the ingredients and they have Matodextrin also, so im super bummed. do you know if the amounts of Maltodextrin are so small not to worry - or is it something to be avoided. This guys smart know what he doing - curious on your feedback - thanks for your time

@@tinacathey8241 I expect to get flak on my comment here. I'm 72 years old and T1D for 55 years. And I have read a lot of comments from people that say their A1C is 5 or even less. They consume less than 10 carbs a day and their diet consists of celery, boiled chicken breast and kale juice. They exercise at least 3 hours a day and drink gallons of water. To be honest I don't know if they are pre-diabetic, T2D, or insulin dependent. Personally if I were to live like that I'd be miserable. I enjoy my carbs, coffee, diet soda, pizza, nuts, most anything but do watch the portions and pump insulin to cover the rest. My A1C in January was 5.7. I'm 6 feet tall and weight 180 pounds. If I want a diet soda I drink A diet soda and not a case of it at a time. This keeping your blood glucose below 110 24 hours a day is way to much effort for me. Life is to short to not experience some pleasure in your life unless it's only to be an A1C of 5.0 then go for it. When first diagnosed I was given literature on what, and how much I could consume. And classified as "free" was coffee, tea and diet soda. Consensus is that "free" is not an unlimited amount but nonetheless a diet soda isn't going to harm you. And it may just help you feel not deprived when everyone else is drinking whatever and you feel stuck with a glass of water. My shields are up. I'm getting off my soapbox now.

Thank you for the recipes and very good video. This gives a lot of us Type 2 diabetics encouragement. When I was first diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes I was sad because I thought I would never find a dessert that I would enjoy. I tried the Greek yogurt with raspberries, blackberries, cinnamon, nutmeg, and sugar free maple syrup. I also add ground flaxseed and a little chia seeds. That’s delicious and you get protein and fiber from the fruit. I just ordered some ChocZero dark chocolate bars.

Heres a super easy frozen yogurt recipe.
    1 cup greek yogurt plain(refrigerated)
1 squirt of water flavoring drops ( I use a product named " stur")
1/2 cup of frozen berries of your choice or finely chopped frozen fruit.
Scoop greek yogurt in a bowl.
Squirt in water flavoring drops to your taste.
    Mix well.
    Add frozen fruit or berries.
    Stir until combined.
Yogurt will freeze in a minute or so.

These were helpful ideas; only one I'm not too keen is artificial sweetener like in jello; I love dark bitter chocolates (gotta check out Italian dark chocolates).

I have found that Atkins bars are great for when I'm craving something sweet.
They're very low in carbs and don't seem to spike my blood sugars.

You can make a large package of sugar free lime jello and mix it well, then add cottage cheese and pineapple. Mix well and refrigerate it. It really tastes great and does not have tons of sugar. I love this when I feel like eating something I will regret later.

@@SugarMDs - my blood sugar reading after my latest 24 hour water fast was 5.O (x by 18 for US numbers). In mid September my blood sugar reading was 2O.6 after a 24 hour fast. No meds or insulin. Just herbs, spices, salt, and a resonable diet that includes icecream, plus a moderate fat diet, plus 8O - 12O grams of protein, and less than 1OO grams of carbs per day on average. I enjoy my bullet-proof herbal tea / coffee / vegetarian chocolate protein shake in a blender hot drink. See my video where I show my "breakfast" . My blood sugar in just under 6 months has gone from very high to normal. Yes I do some fasting too combined with careful refeeding even when I am doing just 25 1/2 hour water or dry fasts. I only dry fast once per year. The rest of the time it is a water fast. So instead of skipping meals for 18 hours I just do a full 1 day or longer water fast. My goal is get my 25 1/2 hour fasting blood sugar down to 4 or 3.9. When done slowly this is not dangerous. I am on no meds or insulin. I don't do keto or carnivore diets either. Just a diet that is carefully balanced. Eat if hungry and yes I have snacked all day at times. However if I am only hungry 2x in one day then I just have 2 meals. I even enjoy vanilla cream with lots of siagon cinnamon. Do not feed siagon cinnamon to children or those under 14 as it is toxic in large doses. I usually have no more than 2 1/4 teaspoons in a day. PS: I had a large bowl of icecream 3 times last week.
