They had auto-bid on so they must have wanted it quite bad!
Probably forgot to set an amount limit. No Uno is worth that much, not even one with 500 miles on the clock.
I'm thinking maybe a sentimental buy?
I already held my breath for 10 while the guys were bidding 1600 on the Uno... Who wants to bet that the buyer decided to cancel his bid and abandon his ebay account?
... the last time i drove uno it went on fire , but i also think 1600 is way too much

Challenge: Everybody has 4h to buy a car for less than 1k. If they still have some money left, they can modify the car with the rest of the money. After this they drive to Germany to go on a lap on the Nurburgring. Who ever drives the fastest lap wins.
Of course you can also choose a different track and country but I think the Nurburgring would be cool since the first part of the challenge is to get to the track and the second one is to do a fast lap.

1. It’s illegal to time a car around the Nurburgring in touristenfahrten. 2. The track won’t open until around March next year. They won’t do this, especially not at the Nurburgring.
Maybe the ring is a bit much but we have the 'mini-ring' which is Cadwell park near Louth

I think it would be quite difficult to drive to germany and do a lap on the Nürburgring during corona in winter XD

Nah, it's different for the Uno. They are now so rare that they've started to appreciate and nice ones will only be worth more and more now, regardless of what happens with prices generally.

Apart from being a lowly 1.6, it's a really nice car, and far better condition than the price would suggest.
Swap in a 4g or a 2jz, make it an absolute weapon

That 'weird' place of rust below the window is very likely because either somebody tried to steal it or locked the keys in the car...during the 'fishing' they damaged the paint under the seal.
Weren't they galvanized then?
my e46 has rust to the right of the windshield seal in the middle. random place. could easily be the case here as well.
@@hhn2002 I guess that galvanization only lasts so long. Anywhere where water can accumulate can be a breeding ground for rust. I guess that after 14/15 years all bets are off. It's such a small area on the Boy's car that some rust proofing would look better than the real thing. I love these videos and can't wait for the next.

A challenge I would LOVE to see is a blindfolded car guessing game. It would be hilarious to see Ethan trying to guess a car only by hearing the exhaust note, the sound of the doors closing or being a passenger in a test drive.

I have a challenge idea... All of you buy a car, not for yourselves, but for each other. So for example Jack gets Ethan, Ethan gets Alex and Alex gets Jack. Limo, three wheeler, 1950s Morris 8 etc etc. You can be evil, be nice or be very creative, but the cars have to be accepted by its new owner and used as their next daily driver until its next mot. You must not tell each other who you've got or what car you've purchased and all three cars need to be revealed together. Do your worst gentlemen.
Please play this game again. But next time take your time to have a clear, strict set of rules that FORCE you to be pushed to weird bids!

Watching this video makes me instantly regret selling my rust free clean E36 316i coupe, wasn't fast by any means but dam one car that actually helped me get through hardtimes before covid.

Here’s an idea for a challenge, How about a uk road trip each in a budget car trying to have breakfast, lunch, dinner and supper in each of the UK’s capital cities in a 24hr period. To make the best chance of it working I’d imagine you would have to either start it or end it here in Northern Ireland. If starting here it would need to be eat early, onto the boat then Edinburgh, Cardiff & finish in London that night. That would be fun to watch 😀

Too many times has eBay rejected my higher bid at the last second and cost me some great cars. Or you could look at it having saved me a lot of money and a lot of rust repair.

I’ve had coupe’s, routings, convertibles, saloons. I love them
Brilliant! More of this please! First car I owned was a manual 1.6 of these. Free from a friend.
That's the best E36 interior I've seen in a long while! Even the fabric on the door cards has held up. An interesting route to go would be swapping in the M42/44 twincam 16v engine (can be had for as little as £150), and you could even get Bruno at BDS to tune it up for you afterwards! Please don't do the M50/52 conversion that has been done to death on these cars.
4-banger S42-replica sleeper would be really cool to be honest. But then this is such a low mileage car, it might just be worth preserving as it is, since E36 prices are shooting up.
My 1998 corsa had 42k when I got it 2 years ago.
I paid £400 with 12 months MOT.
It now has 83k on the clocks and averaged 20k miles per year in the last 2 years I've owned it.

One challenge I keep thinking would be good for you guys, is to buy a car in the UK then drive it all the way to Malta or Cyprus (where they drive right hand drive cars) and try and sell it on for a profit. European road trip and cheep car challenge in one! Google seems to think that tax and import duty would be lots, but I'm to lazy to read the regs

Yes, but with a proper mechanic.
That car is far too nice for being tracked. The thing is almost a museum piece.
If anything, just manual swap it (personal preference) and leave the rest of it alone. It's in such good condition that it would be a waste to track it, there are loads of track ready E36's already roaming around. Just drive it and enjoy it for what it is.

£6000 each (or pick a number for your production values.) to buy a van and DIY convert it into a camper that adheers to the DVLA camper conversion rules to get the classification changed (but you don't have to actually get it changed that is probably a pita and would delay the production massivly). Budget includes the van, the conversion materials and any tools/fixings. Then each of you have to spend 3 nights in it and each is documented by a 3rd party and judged.
