You were right not to get carried away and bid. Sadly online auction bidding has been great for the auction house, but not for buyers. Better luck next time.
In big auction you can see when the people in the hall stop bidding, you saw it here as well they stopped at the true assesed value, if your online bid goes against some hall "opponent" bid then you're good to spend a little extra to secure the online buy, but ALWAYS second 3rd and 4th guess yourself because it might even be that those are the only gears working on a car you never seen.
Much respect for knowing when yere asses were kicked and especially at an auction it's not frustrating it's nearly heartbreaking when you find a gem and it goes mad like that, the market is really gone to shite
Really enjoyed this video. It really captured the whole auction rollercoaster of emotions. Always good to hear more knowledge and insight from Taylor on the various models you encounter. Also, thank you for shooting/uploading in 60fps, albeit a minor personal preference, I feel it also added to the rawness.
Why did i enjoy this video so much. Something about it being loke a "daily vlog" where nothing actualy went to plan made it still entertaining. Just to see what yous get up to on an average day
A little while back on the e30 reddit, there was some discussion on rust on e30 roofs and basically it came down to that you have to be really really careful when purchasing an e30 with a rusty roof. I didn’t believe it initially but eventually the other guy really made a good statement. Comes down to that you might need to replace the complete roof, which is incredibly hard. 10k is waaaaay too much for this car…
@@bigduphusaj162 I don't know about e30 pricing in the UK but at least in my country a sorted 325i mtechII e30 coupe is like 25-30 grand minimum. This car is basically a massive gamble, definitely not junk though. You might get it running for "cheap" if you get lucky and make massive profit, or you might get stuck with it and it's worthless. But then again I have no clue what these are worth in the UK.

@@rich_edwards79 To be fair 9 times out of ten they usually get raced because they are too unfit to go back on the road hence why they put loads of work into them from welding to new panels, but never structurally safe for the road as they are rotten. Good ones they find they usually sort out and keep. I think it’s better to have their last stretch around a track than to be weighed straight in

As soon I saw the E30... my heart sank and I got all love sick for my old E30. By far the best car I ever owned. Been wanting to get another for I think 10 years now and just never able to :( I look forward to some E30 content.
Ive only been to an auction once back in 1991. Before the age of internet, so you were just fighing the Arthur Daley lookalikes in the auction. Banter was brilliant though, with the dealers laughing at some of the cars. I sold my mk3 escort 3 door estate there for £300. Wish i had that car now.
E30 is and always be a gem. As a body shop apprentice in 95, we had a sales rep called “Nele” she was sexy af and drove an f plate 325 sport(very well). She threw that thing around and I was besotted by her ( and the 3series )❤❤❤
That Granada would be nice, I miss my mark 2 saloon - I still have the recaro seats from it. So rare to see a Granada, nice cars with a v6. They are that rare, the banger racers use E-class mercs now, yet with a 4-pot frog-eye engine instead of a v6.
My old boss had one of these brand new, he asked me back in the ay if I would drop him off and bring the car back from Heathrow. I was 18 at the time and had my driving licence for about 5 months or so. I jumped at the chance, and what a car it was to drive. Thankfully I was on company insurance to drive it.
Honestly this was welcome change of pace, kinda even more interesting and entertaining than watching yet another half arsed attempt at fixing a car that belongs in the wreckers and/or having a "challenge" with one.
Id agree with that ..... that suzuki shitbox which couldnt manage to drive itself to the scrappers had thousands of cool stuff lashed to it ..... just daft . Walking around an auction chatting shit about why you should or shouldnt buy certain cars there is good and if they walk away with the odd heap to shift on then thats worth a watch .
Best case that needs 10k spending on it, and its still a repo without any paperwork. Worst case the engine needs a load of work too and it owes someone WAAAAAAy more than its worth once done. Alex and Taylor in shock sensible not buying something shock!

As soon as you said 325i sport I said it was a 10k car all day long, prices are only going one way, every year there’s less and less and the are great for turning into competition cars. E36 prices are soaring as well. It’s almost like ICE cars are being banned and people are getting peak enthusiasts cars from the 80s and 90s whilst they still can. Sorted come 2035 that will be a 50k car
The expanding foam comment had me creasing. My mates got a VERY rusty 350z drift car and we filled the seams with 2 cans of expanding foam so smoke would stop coming in 😅
You maybe can just order the key with the VIN number at the dealership (and proof of niet owning the car). Only works when the locks haven’t been changed. Did that for my E34 540i Touring, cost me €26 euro a few years ago. Good luck at the next auction!

The cosworth engined granadas were the later mk3 ones. It's really the only fastish ford of that era that prices are still reasonable
E30s Quality. My first E30 was a 316 4 speed manual. I tuned it a bit and loved it. Had a few more then a 528 series 2. Can't afford a decent e30 now😂

I have those same plates from the same manufacturer they’re not any old 4d plates, they can’t be read by ulez / ccz cameras that’s why owner has them
