Yeah, that and how he doesn’t really care about his team though. He would have never sacrificed himself for a teammate like some of the universe 7 fighters would have.
I mean, everyone has a worse backstory than jiren. Vegeta's parents along with his entire race have been killed by a guy he's collaborating with. Goku has never even met his parents. 17 has been kidnapped and turned into an android, gero messed up his mind and made him evil. C'mon jiren, get over it...

I think it's similar to how Goku was fucked up by Sorbet's raygun in the Resurrection F arc. He simply didn't know he was coming so his guard wasn't up.
I was hoping right before 17 sacrificed himself...He would ask Jiren " How does it feel? Knowing you are no better than the evil that destroyed your friends and family."
i dont think he planned on surviving, but due to his power jump in super he was able to withstand the attack and keep fighting. similar to vegeta surviving his suicide attack against topo
@@user-ym2kb1cp5e He’s actually a cyborg. Him and 18. They have human parts still. That explains why 18 was able to get it on all night long with Krillin and get a baby.
Koraxus I wouldn't be scared of Jiren cause he's a 2d fictional character I'm a 3d non fictional being which means I'm infinitely more powerful than him 17 is still gay. In a no holds fight Jiren would cream pie 17
It's kind of cool to see the two paths 17 took. In the Future Trunks timeline, he embraces his sociopathic side and doesn't care for much more than 18 and his own personal needs. A completely selfish and evil guy. In the present timeline, he had that choice to go down that path too but having the direction from 16 to kill Goku at least stabilized him and his fight with Piccolo taught him respect and with his death and resurrection he learned the value of life and what it is to be human and we get to see where his path took him in the Tourney of power arc. It's really cool.
I like that you pointed that out. The only reason 17 and 18 are different than they are in Trunks' timeline is BECAUSE of 16's influence. We don't get much exposition of 17 and 18, only that they were humans once and Gero shut them down because he couldn't control them. I like to think what led to that was them discovering what he did to his own son, let alone them.
He's not even in the 7'th universe. They are fighting in a black void where there is supposed to be nothing. Dont think some dragon balls from earth can wish him back.
If they beat Jiren via the mind rather than the fist, I can finally see a method for defeating Jiren. *And yes, it'd be better than Goku mastering Ultra Instinct in three minutes*
17 seems to be the best character when it comes to reacting off anger, using his fight vs. Kakunsa or whatever her name is he continues to get in her mind rent free using that to literally treat her (and Jiren in that respect) like the animals he so easily deals with on Earth. He also uses the same tactics but with a slight different to get his opponent on guard for what they assumed is going to be the same played out tactic, but with one twist that can literally change everything. And his mind games are something we’ve seen since Z to a slight degree.
It's slight mental conditioning, and he does the same thing in fighterz, you expect him to do one thing then your blindsided by a whole new set of attacks, only for him to do it all over again
Hmmm... In some way I think 17 is pleased to know that Jiren isn't a soulless, heartless "killing machine" because 17 would have even less respect for Jiren should Jiren actually have won the tournament. Perhaps Jiren "deep down" knows what 17 was "digging for" which is why Jiren proceeded to quickly "end it all" saying "Time's up". When all the "physically" in this tournament hit an end; 17 went the *PSYCHOLOGICAL* route and really "got in Jiren's mind" bring up Jiren's past memories of his failures to protect his people and companions in his past life. Jiren can "dismiss" all he wants he knew that 17 got that "opening" on Jiren so even why 17 sacrifices himself to save his teammates, Jiren must have some kind of respect to 17 knowing his "honour" to protect those he cares about which Jiren once stood for in his early days as a warrior.
Dumbass. Jiren is not a killing machine, he actually helps people by defeating bad guys. He doesn't kill. FYI Jiren isn't that stupid robot who cries when they talk smack. This a tournament to show who's the strongest not who is the gayest.
Baraly Clinbama if you didn't notice, before just then, he showed no emotion and even later on he shows hardly any emotions other than anger at the opponents, while he isn't a villain he isn't a friendly person either.
If your cerebral cortex seriously had trouble reading what he said because of a few quotation marks... you shouldn’t be watching DBS you should be in school trying really hard to acquire common intelligence
I totally agree! If the one thing Jiren was trying to escape was feelings of betrayal and letdown from the past, then bringing that up definitely got in his head. I think the reason Jiren hasn't knocked off Goku and Vegeta is because he hasn't quite decided about his wish, and seeing how far Vegeta has come without giving up his attachments, is making him reconsider whether what he thought was the only option is true. Because Jiren could have finished the tournament a long time ago but he didn't want to care, and it seems like he is giving everyone else their wish. Goku's wish was to fight the strongest fighter, Vegeta's wish is to be stronger than Goku, and Android 17's wish was to feel human. Jiren's wish is to either have someone he can fully trust and rely on, or to stop feeling the desire to have someone to trust. By pushing them Jiren is also getting his wish. Heck, Frieza is also getting his wish because he will be resurrected. The only people truly passionate about their wish have remained, and that's probably not a coincidence. Also, Jiren probably feels a slave to the desire for power, and knows if he stopped desiring, that he could be enlightened and find peace. His journey to get strength started out of a desire to protect, but now he has the responsability of a god, because he is so strong that whatever he does determines fate. People like Frieza think they want that power, but Frieza doesn't know how lonely it would feel when everyone else is just a puppet. Life became meaningless once not only were everyone else puppets, but cowardly unfaithful puppets. I also don't think it is a coincidence that Jiren doesn't trust anyone, and here Goku is which 3 sworn enemies not only fighting at his side, but 2 of which were willing to give their life for Goku. That probably is messing with Jiren's mind so much. He has probably been dragging out the fight to see what they will do. I think Jiren wants them to beat him, because at least he could die with hope that people are good.
In your opinion. In mine, he’s one of the best and one of my favorites ever since DBZ. (Original not kai. I stopped watching kai) I do agree with you. He is very chill when he fought in the tournament
Even though you're right, don't forget they're in the void. Probably old baba doesn't even know how to get there, and even if she knew she couldn't do anything
Malitia Gfunt I don't like how 17. He was a mistake He's just plot armored and wanked They changed his whole personality with no real character development He had no seen character growth They just turned him into something he wasnt
Jay Parker they already explained that shit.. it's probably been like 10 years since he was evil so they don't have to make 10 episodes showing how he is good. He has a family nd sht.
I fucking love 17, he's one my favorites if not my most favorite character in all of Dragon Ball. He's come so far and even though it's not well explained, it is legit. He's carries so much weight in Super and I'm glad he was such a big part in Super and I hope he continues to be a big part in the next series
I love him too. He’s one of my favorite characters and one of the best. Love him as both a hero and a villain. Love both timelines where he has children of his own and a wife and love the other timeline where he doesn’t. Screw anyone that says he’s garbage.

Imagine just one moment if 17 and 18 got the same "Ki absorption mechanism" 19 and 20 got. He'd have been able to absorb that monstruous attack and destroy Jiren alone. Both mentally and physically.
Man to think that 17 and 18 should have been mercyless androids who destroyed humanity in an alternate future but instead ended up saving the universe tells you how much they progressed as characters.
I love how the Tournament of Power is written. Before it began, I thought it ws gonna be a Goku show... And to some extent it is, with him getting Ultra Instinct and probably closing this arc, but the other characters were utilized a lot more than I wished, with 17 being an unexpected MVP, no matter what happens now. Even though it has some problems, I really love this arc!
You know... 17 has been THE best part of this arc. And really the only reason I was interested to keep up with the arc because I wanted to see what he could do now. And I love this more calm and calculated version of 17. You can tell he's grown a lot from his days stealing cars and hunting down Goku. I can't wait to see how the English Dub handles 17 in the Tournament Arc and how they handle the voice for him. I never really liked 17 back in the Android saga... He seemed sorta bland... A generic childish villain. But now... He is so much more interesting. And his sacrifice, while it pissed me off that he had to die, was definitely the best moment in this arc. Honestly... With how bored I've been in this arc, and how angry it's made me, 17 ALMOST redeemed the final battle. 17 DEFINITELY is the MVP of this tournament. Honestly... Him and Vegeta are the best parts of this arc because they're getting great character development. And they're both more developed than Goku (which honestly... That's not saying much since Goku hasn't really developed in terms of personality at all from when he was a kid.)
17 is the most relatable character in DBS.... I can see me doing everything he did, even the pointless killing and attacks on the cities because if I was taken and forced into being an android and being controlled and threatened, I'd lash out in anger too but then realize that I was just acting out of rage, and trust me on this, anger can control you and make you do bad things but it doesn't define who you are. If you make mistakes in life you can always make it right.... Too bad we don't have Dragon Balls cause I'm sure a lot of people would love to correct mistakes they've made in the past.
Jiren has been hugely nerfed since he went meditating, before meditation he was so op, he tossed ssj blue like nothing and had no weakness, only talking hits from hit and goku ui, but after meditation vegeta and goku were able to hold themselves up against him as ssj blue, then even 17 was able to hold himself up against jiren and then first to deal damage to jiren, even frieza was able to land a kick on him. Major plothole Btw I missed your videos man
M J could it be zenkai boost tho? I was thinking like... this tournament rules was a bit favorable to the saiyans... most of the stronger fighters leave there enemies near death. Also 17 was pretty calculating dont really think he was fighting head on with Jiren. He had a plan
Also. Goku and Vegeta have gotten stronger since then as you can see in the anime Vegeta gained a new power up and Goku has continued to break his limits in pushing himself.
17 and Piccolo. The kings of psychological warfare. LOL. I remember when Piccolo was trying to get into 17s head during their fight before cell showed up.
17 is that silent member in your coop games that spends most of the time just watching the main players and the enemies, studying how they work. And once the big teammates die or get low hp, he comes out of nowhere and starts carrying the team in his own unique style that at first it seems it won't work but it does and once he wins he's humble enough to not say anything or if he does, just "gg team"
im still dumbfounded as to how badass 17 actually turned out to be.. i just thought... Ughhh someone who cant even beat cell? Really? *goku and vegeta are helpless lying on the floor for half an episode.... 17 only Goes toe to toe with jiren and talks shit to him as he damages him and wrestles fists ripping his shirt as jiren is smashing him around but 17 is bouncing back off the walls* o.O yep.. useless park ranger who cant beat cell ok..... also 17 tanked the same attack that had goku and jeetz broken on the floor for half an episode.
MrSpardas 17 has gotten gradually stronger, he trains and is able to compete with a Super Saiyan blue Goku. He probably learned how to use his Ki properly like a warrior who has a power of a God
I’d forgotten how everyone tried to make this arc poetic and meaningful, thinking there was something deep to the point of the story. And then there was actually nothing of substance to any of it.
Like most human interactions. If you see them quickly most are without substance but once you stop to examine them in detail everything gets complicated.
It was awesome seeing Piccolo beating down 17's punk ass and now, it was amazing to see 17 mature as a character and take on the strongest mortal ever. He may be gone now, but his words and memories will live on.

Mauro Ventimiglia vegeta didnt care about his people neither does goku, and they have dragon balls jiren doesnt
Goku also also killed his father figure as a great ape if I recall
the story did NOT justify his strength, it only showed us WHY he wants to become strong.
If you look at part of Jiren backstory...Jiren parents death kinda reminds me of batman 😂

Koraxus I wouldn't be scared of Jiren cause he's a 2d fictional character
I'm a 3d non fictional being which means I'm infinitely more powerful than him
17 is still gay. In a no holds fight Jiren would cream pie 17
If you were a 2D character you'd be Yamcha or Pilaf
“Sacrificing myself to save others, look at me being all human”***
Funny😐
Well, he isn’t wrong. Not completely. He still has human parts. He’s a cyborg.

He's not even in the 7'th universe. They are fighting in a black void where there is supposed to be nothing. Dont think some dragon balls from earth can wish him back.

Sam Wurdemann I wished they fused
Sam Wurdemann Welp...
Idea for TFS, if they do Super, have 17 be like Ghost Nappa, but to Jiren.

Jed Mask I like the thought process but all the quotation marks make this look like a paragraph in Jojo
So many "quotations", I don't even know what you're "Saying"
If your cerebral cortex seriously had trouble reading what he said because of a few quotation marks... you shouldn’t be watching DBS you should be in school trying really hard to acquire common intelligence

"17 is the MVP. Even if Goku knocks out Jiren, it is because of what 17 did" that line aged like wine.
6 years ago is crazy 😭

He's carries so much weight in Super and I'm glad he was such a big part in Super and I hope he continues to be a big part in the next series
I love him too. He’s one of my favorite characters and one of the best. Love him as both a hero and a villain. Love both timelines where he has children of his own and a wife and love the other timeline where he doesn’t.
Screw anyone that says he’s garbage.

Man to think that 17 and 18 should have been mercyless androids who destroyed humanity in an alternate future but instead ended up saving the universe tells you how much they progressed as characters.
Why am i getting this recommended to me 5 years later
I love how the Tournament of Power is written. Before it began, I thought it ws gonna be a Goku show... And to some extent it is, with him getting Ultra Instinct and probably closing this arc, but the other characters were utilized a lot more than I wished, with 17 being an unexpected MVP, no matter what happens now. Even though it has some problems, I really love this arc!
17 is so cool.
Even in the cell saga, especially when he fights piccolo.
So cool 🔥
Indeed
My percentage on my phone is 17 lol
Edit : I also have an android lol

Major plothole
Btw I missed your videos man
M J could it be zenkai boost tho? I was thinking like... this tournament rules was a bit favorable to the saiyans... most of the stronger fighters leave there enemies near death. Also 17 was pretty calculating dont really think he was fighting head on with Jiren. He had a plan

Goku and Vegeta have been getting stronger the whole tournament
Freeza didn't land a hit. Jiren grabbed his leg. That is not connecting a hit in any sense
Also. Goku and Vegeta have gotten stronger since then as you can see in the anime Vegeta gained a new power up and Goku has continued to break his limits in pushing himself.
