And if they can, usually we consider them to be of the same species. So saiyans would be more like a diferent "breed" of humans instead of being a completely different species. And their powers must come from minute differences (relatively speaking) in their genome. How much of those genes will be passed around depends, not only on luck but which ones are recessive and which ones are dominant. So percentages may vary wildly. It is even possible the saiyan genes are so dominant that effectively everyone on Earth will slowly turn into saiyans, as long as they keep reproducing, so who knows what is the percentage of saiyanness that Goku Jr. would have.

I don't think it works like that. Both races can have Both dominant and recessive genes. If saiyan genes were dominant over humans than that means Trunks and Bulla's hair and eyes should be black, so that means Bulma has more Dominant than Vegeta.

Perhaps a pair of Saiyans were sent to Earth one time and they became the ancestors of humans. And through natural selection, they have lost the tail and the ability to transform. But they can still awaken some of their abilities through training, like Krillin and Roshi have.
The percentage breakdowns here are flawed. You are assuming that Sayain and Earth genetics are equally split and passed down. What we know about biology is that there are strong genes and recessive traits. For example if a white person has a child with a black person the child is more likely to have dark skin. Same goes with eye colour (blue being the weakest). So Gohan may actually be 99 per cent sayain if the genes overpower the earth traits. Also interestingly it is possible for a crossbred child of a full-blooded sayain to have no sayain traits. The Sayain line could also theoretically skip generations and then return hundreds of years later with a complete sayain child. The same way children can be born with blue eyes even though both parents have brown eyes. The recessive genes stick around but do not get chosen to manifest themselves in the embryonic phase. Essentially it is all odds with there being endless possibilities but you cannot say Gohan is 50 / 50 and pan is 75 / 25. That doesn't make sense.
Though this is the how it works outside of anime. In the actaul animes it has been said that Gohan, Goten, and Trunks are all half breeds. This has official been stated as for Pan being a quarter sayian stated in the movie where Goku achieves his Super Sayian God Form so he's not just pulling these numbers out of nowhere

Obviously the writers haven't stated that genetics works like this in the DBZ universe but we do know evolution exists in the series and for evolution to exist the dominant and submissive gene model needs to exist. No,as far as I know you get 50 percent of your dna from each parent,but the way they manifest is different and since human have their own gene pool the way the genes manifest would develop would show the phenotype. Sayians probably have their own genes and when they interbreed with humans like gohan,goten and trunks the Saiyan dna would be 50 percent even if it doesn’t manifest,as for the generation after that then regular everyday genetics come into play. Much how a Lion and a tiger offspring would be a Liger (50/50 lion or tiger mix) instead of being a Lion with some Tiger features.

Mendelian genetics is already questionable when applied to humans, but if we did the Saiyan phenotype could be the result of dominant genes. Alternatively the phenotype’s genetic information could exist within humanity’s genes already but only expresses itself under certain circumstances. In that case Saiyan blood may not dilute at all, except for maybe hair growth lol

What are the odds that two life forms as complex as Saiyans and Humans originating on different planets are genetically similar enough to interbreed? It makes me think that Humans are just a forgotten subspecies of Saiyans, given that Saiyans are known to send their babies to other planets.
Perhaps a pair of Saiyans were sent to Earth one time and they became the ancestors of humans. And through natural selection, they have lost the tail and the ability to transform. But they can still awaken some of their abilities through training, like Krillin and Roshi have.

The percentage breakdowns here are flawed. You are assuming that Sayain and Earth genetics are equally split and passed down. What we know about biology is that there are strong genes and recessive traits. For example if a white person has a child with a black person the child is more likely to have dark skin. Same goes with eye colour (blue being the weakest). So Gohan may actually be 99 per cent sayain if the genes overpower the earth traits. Also interestingly it is possible for a crossbred child of a full-blooded sayain to have no sayain traits. The Sayain line could also theoretically skip generations and then return hundreds of years later with a complete sayain child. The same way children can be born with blue eyes even though both parents have brown eyes. The recessive genes stick around but do not get chosen to manifest themselves in the embryonic phase. Essentially it is all odds with there being endless possibilities but you cannot say Gohan is 50 / 50 and pan is 75 / 25. That doesn't make sense.
Though this is the how it works outside of anime. In the actaul animes it has been said that Gohan, Goten, and Trunks are all half breeds. This has official been stated as for Pan being a quarter sayian stated in the movie where Goku achieves his Super Sayian God Form so he's not just pulling these numbers out of nowhere

Obviously the writers haven't stated that genetics works like this in the DBZ universe but we do know evolution exists in the series and for evolution to exist the dominant and submissive gene model needs to exist. Otherwise life would not evolve. It would just be clones of the parents.
Also in that movie, the half Breed sayains are able to perform the god spell even though they have human mothers. It could mean that they are closer to full blooded saiyan than half half

No,as far as I know you get 50 percent of your dna from each parent,but the way they manifest is different and since human have their own gene pool the way the genes manifest would develop would show the phenotype. Sayians probably have their own genes and when they interbreed with humans like gohan,goten and trunks the Saiyan dna would be 50 percent even if it doesn’t manifest,as for the generation after that then regular everyday genetics come into play. Saiyans and humans are different species unlike blacks and whites who are both just humans.

Jeroen cuypers The way the genes were divided (except for Goku jr) are the canon division. Gohan is a half saiyan while Pan is 1/4th only.
Also, a Saiyan sperm still works like a regular sperm. I doubt it would be able to be 100% dominant and somehow alter a female earthling’s egg cell DNA. Much how a Lion and a tiger offspring would be a Liger (50/50 lion or tiger mix) instead of being a Lion with some Tiger features.

a gene can not always be split 50-50 , sometimes it can go 20-80 , 30-70 etc , gohan may have inherited 70% saiyan gene, trunks may have gotten 60% human gene, judging by their looks

Considering how Saiyans and humans can interbreed, they might actually be the same species, with Saiyans being a different phenotype of humanity than the normal ones we have. In that sense, they have different observable traits (tails, hair doesn’t grow, idk). Mendelian genetics is already questionable when applied to humans, but if we did the Saiyan phenotype could be the result of dominant genes. Alternatively the phenotype’s genetic information could exist within humanity’s genes already but only expresses itself under certain circumstances. In that case Saiyan blood may not dilute at all, except for maybe hair growth lol
I really like the continuity of seeing Pan as a baby being held by Goku and then seeing Pan as a grandma watching her own grandson, Goku Jr, which makes me feel like a circle of life thing ⭕️
