if you're interested in more in depth broly vs cell max, etc type arguments. I go in more detail in the other black thumbnail videos in the description. Just wanted to give piccolo some hype he deserves.
Hey Seth I have a question if piccolo fused with nail guru and kami and on top of that get his orange form so would that amp his potential so dose piccolo have more or on par potential then gohan
piccolo lost all hype when he bitched out and used to dragon to get stronger and even then he was told how garbage he was so the dragon gave him even more. they ruined piccolo in this movie
I think Piccolo increasing his size against Cell Max is more for leverage. Kind of like lifting a mattress. You can be strong enough to lift it solo, but the size and lack of rigidness makes it awkward and difficult.
I've always had a theory about Piccolo. I feel that his training being mostly meditation was building up his potential significantly. I feel he obtained all his power on his own, and Shenron merely unlocked it for him. More-or-less, if Piccolo didn't spend his time meditating and honing his Ki control, he wouldn't be nearly as strong as he is in his Orange form. It also explains why he has so much control over his form. I would say he's already mastered his Orange form, but I'm sure there are secrets/abilities yet to be revealed.
Love how complex this series got. Went from changing their appearances almost completely to “what if I make them a different color and tell you they punch harder?”
I love Piccolo. He’s so cool and gets done so dirty. I mean he was hanging tight with the Saiyans without any transformations. Big Green deserves to have some time in the spotlight. Especially now that he’s Big Orange.
Piccolo was always the coolest character to me. His whole presentation is badass. I hated when he got left behind. Nice to see my boy finally getting some respect.
@@TheSCPStudioand therefore went from being on par to being insignificant in terms of strength. Or we could word this by saying...he was left behind lol.
To be honest….piccolo should be very eligible for god ki. I mean considering that he was once considered god as he is fused with kami and kami being able to travel back and forth between other world and such, id say that if anyone has the right to have god ki it’s definitely piccolo. That would be a great boost to him as it gives him something to work at with his new power and potentially letting him be on the level or past gonna.
I would agree, but does it even matter at this point? God Ki has been a completely wasted concept that hasn't been explained or expanded, and doesn't seem to offer any real benefits, besides possibly being more potent than standard Ki. Aside from that, there seems to be little to no seperation between those who do and don't use it. It's just another example of the abject faliure of DBS to do anything interesting with the concepts it introduced. Instead of deepening the ideas it has, it just moves onto one after the other. But all of it remains pretty shallow as a result. Little I've seen has convinced me to care about god Ki, so I personally don't care...
@@AndrewAce. What are you talking about? God ki is more efficient and last longer then regular ki. Yes it has been explain as its just god teir ki control and what’s there to expand? Goku and vegeta has reach insane heights with god ki alone as they are simply stacking it on super saiyan. That’s it….The truth is goku and vegeta are not strong at all, gohan, piccolo, frieza, gotten, trunks, universe 6 saiyan and broly are all more genetically stronger then goku and vegeta. They have to train day in and day out and even use god ki to be as strong as they are and then you have gohan and piccolo catching right up with out it….so if they had god ki they could be insanely stronger. No one in the t.o.p could truly beat ssgss except for they major powerhouses like hit, jiren, broly and frieza. Goku and vegeta was holding back constantly against many of the opponents. In the show you see goku use blue on many other people and many people see that and assume that he needed it, he didnt. He used it simply becuase it was more comfy to fight that what not becuase he truly needed it. In the t.o.p he used it many times but since that that a big battle royal where goku and vegeta needed to conserve power that plays a huge part. The final point is that ssgss can actually be weaker too, its god ki control so goku can fine tune just how strong the blue is, before we new what level of super saiyan he was using becuase of ssj 1 2 and 3 having differences but now its just….blue.
@@Peanutbutter_madden And yet my point stands: What is the difference between characters who use it and characters who do not? The series doesn't show use one. Everyone is as strong as the plot needs them to be with or without it. Answer me this: How has the introduction of God Ki changed or added to the story, or even just the combat? What interesting thing has it done? How has it changed the dynamic? If this question has no answer after all this time, the writers have failed to make it count. 1) No offense, but where is any of what you just claimed about god Ki being better explained in depth the series? I don't believe it is? We're just told that it's better, and meant to assume that it is because Goku and Vegeta use it to unlock more powerful forms. But we aren't told why it's better, and how it distinguishes it's users. There are plenty of people who don't have it that are on their level, and the idea of it being the next level of power seems to have been dropped all together. Simply saying that Goku and Vegeta a just really weak, but it puts them on everyone else's level like steroids just doesn't do it for me. It sounds like a bad excuse. Most of the the prominent characters in DBS don't use it - other than the gods - it's really just Goku, Vegeta, and Toppo, and they get done in left and right by characters without it. This, and the fact that the concept hasn't been developed in any way subtly communicates to the audience that it isn't that important, aside from exclusively benefitting two characters who are routinely challenged and surpassed by those without it. This is bad writing. 2) The only things you've told me about God Ki is that it's stronger and more efficient, which I basically stated myself already. Where do those features even come into play? Show me an instance where a character with it is fighting a character without it, and these aspects you mentioned become relevant? It's just better? Is that seriously it? It doesn't have any special properties or utilities besides being nebulously superior? We don't get to find out about it's origins, or who can access it and why? Goku and Vegeta never find out any ways to develop it further, and nothing concretely differentiates it from the standard variant. It's called "GOD" Ki, and it doesn't even grant any special abilities to it's users that they couldn't otherwise access. If you didn't know it existed, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between those who did and didn't have it. Even the aspect of it being undetectable by those who do not use it is completely wasted and ignored. You think it would at least give an advantage to its users when fighting against non-users who couldn't read their ki during combat, but even such a basic element as that is ignored. If all it does is make Goku and Vegeta stronger/give them new forms, GT and other series already did that. Super just found a different excuse for it. I'm sorry for the long comment, I definitely could have condensed it if I wasn't ranting and impatient, but to sum it up: Let's face it, the concept of God Ki began and ended as a way to make Goku and Vegeta stronger. There was no plan for it outside that, and it really doesn't distinguish those with it from those without it in any meaningful way. It doesn't even have any interesting new uses or characteristics. Most anime that add a new dimension to their power system at such a late point in the story would bother do something with it - such as Haki in One Piece, and how it completely changed the dynamic of the series, and the prospects of characters if they did or didn't have it - DBS has completely failed to do this, and God Ki will likely be ignored or forgotten in future works as a result. DB has always had a simplistic approach to its power system, but this is just too lazy. If you're satisfied with the show just telling you it's better, and giving a powerup to Goku and Vegeta as a proof, then my criticisms probably aren't gonna resonate with you, but I personally expect a bit more when a writer introduces a whole new level to their power-system.
Piccolo was always a solid character, really used to bug me how they let him get so weak. Was very happy to hear about the orange form. Great video bro 👍
Piccolo has long been overdue his time in the spotlight since the Frieza Saga. I can't wait to see how he's used in the future, since he's been spared the idiot stick they've been beating Goku with
@@justinarzola4584 piccolo was spooked and helpless in the Buu saga. The most he could do was distract and stall for time. His role was basically training goten and trunks
The Special Beam Cannon is definitely one of the overpowered attack continuities as it seems to be always just enough if well charged. Personally, I think what makes the attack 'special' isn't just a simple power increase. I think the attack is essentially piccolo concentrating and fine tuning his ki to such an absurd level it bypasses any sort of defense. Kind of like krillin's destructo disk (though for piercing instead of slicing). Which explains the drastically increased power level as focusing ki into a single attack or point is much stronger than just doing the attack.
same. I think the makankosappo is so strong is because its the culmination of piccolo's training and perfecting his ki, essentially making it a flawless drill.
Also explains why it's less effective when Cell (and later Mr Perfect Cell) used it. They don't have the same ki control that was honed from years of meditation that Piccolo does
DB like bleach operates on passive hax null that is based on being stronger than the hax user. Depending on the technique, the difference in strength can be small or massive. E.g. krillin still hurting freeza in 2nd form with DD. But despite being stronger in cell saga. Cell nagged the DD. Because the gap in power was far bigger between cell n krillin. Than it was in freeza n krillin
I'm so happy to see Piccolo be relevant again. His potential is absolutely insane, and I'm glad you pointed out his crazy growth throughout DB and DBZ, so I think his latent potential being unlocked in DBS: Super Hero makes a lot of sense.
His potential is actually insanely low. He's fused with two other Namekians and trained to the point of exhaustion in Dragon Ball Z. His power's been stretched our as far as it can be logically. The only way this would change is if something fundamentally changed with him (eg, another fusion). However, in the world of DBS, where old men who look at porno mags all day become Universal-level just because they chased a cat around a bit, maybe his potential is insane
Also something to note, Kamehameha when hit by it, it's like taking one bit explosion or punch across your entire body.... It's more of a blunt attack that melts you if it overpowers your resistance.... Special beam cannon behaves more like a spear that has much more powerful pin point piercing damage... Same goes for the disctructo disc by the way, even though much less powerful, it has slicing damage and may cut you in half. Freezer survived the spirit bomb, but did not survive a disc attack. So to sum up, the type of attack is also a factor in the special beam cannon
the only reason Frieza got cut in half was because he was weakened, caught off guard and the disc was made from his own ki If krillin threw a destructo disk at Frieza it’d do jack shit because of the power level difference (ex. See Cell)
@@RealAgon that was prior to his final form, everyone was barely able to hurt him in his 3rd form and they all lost any chance once he went into his final form Also just because someone dodges an attack doesn’t mean the attack could damage them, look at Whis for example, he could take Goku and Vegeta’s attacks head on and wouldn’t even have a scratch
Super mad about not getting to see a not fat Teen Gotenks tho. I remember being so annoyed toward the very end of the movie when they showed Goten and Trunks performing the dance again only to not show the result. 😭
I don’t think Gohan needed a form. I think he needed coverage and character development. His max power was already defined with ultimate Gohan. They should’ve just expanded on that.
@@anonprada203 i disagree. He was just underused. The concept made the most sense and it was slick. Beast Gohan feels rushed and like a fanmade project. They threw the guy a form that he didn’t work for just to make him relevant again. Can’t stand it lol
I always liked picolo, and this a huge glow up. Love the design too, i made fun of it for a while but i started to actually like it, he looks like an absolute unit and very intimidating.
@No_Name Piccolo is literally his master, why is it fan service for him to learn his technique? Where do you think Masenko came from? Gohan already had experience with Piccolo's ki blasts.
@No_Name so ur saying after the chamber he wore his fathers gi? And in buu saga he doesnt attempt a mystical almost elder guru potential unlock thats reminiscent of a namekian nature? Ill give u the manchild point though. No issue on that statement. He has book smarts tho as always. And we all know gokus always around to train with gohan right? Not vegeta no way. Like tien and chaiotzu, goku and vegeta, gohan and piccolo are primary training partners for a long time. Nostalgia in this manga indicates a history between characters not meaningless relationships between characters.
@@ShihoinYit’s clearly fan service, people like the Gohan and piccolo thing so much they made it so he did the special beam cannon instead of The Kamehameha like what he did to the original cell.
@@Rokkechi his primary beam has always been masenko. (And in buu saga he only wears his fathers gi after meeting with him, if anything the goku gi and techniques feel like fanservice or a form of proximity respect to goku. ) It changed (his beam) after a year of training with his father. Tell me if pan does a mesenko in gt? Tell me if future saga has any masenko users which is before buu and also after? Tell me if ssj4 gohan uses a masenko? Point being here as i already stated. Piccolo being gohans main training influence has always been a thing. Gohan used a turtle wave after fathers death breaking his masenko usage, The special beam cannon was not fanservice since he used it while piccolo ran the chance of dying. Demon techniques are more in line with gohan. How much more evidence do u need?
Special beam cannon to me is like an armor piercing round. Also hellzone grenade is one of the most unique attacks in the show and such an awesome surprise when he debuted it against 17.
i always thought Orange Piccolo looked odd but it grew on me alot. mostly because his form color resembles the Dragonballs themselves. His body has the different orange shades of the dragonball, and his red eyes are like the red stars. I like it.
@@joshuaenodien3853 lol essentially. I didn't really notice it until someone pointed it out. Thought Toriyama just randomly picked a color but it makes a bit of sense. Especially since its Shenron's extra boost for Piccolo.
Piccolo was always my favorite. His techniques are creative and he is an excellent tactician in combat. He adjusts his approach on the fly in ways that other characters don’t throughout DB.
My personal head cannon for Piccolo is that the Namekians created the dragons within the dragon balls and the dragons look suspiciously like Namekians. So to me that means that Namekians aren't slug people, they're dragons and Piccolo's potential can only be measured by the mythical Dragon God, Zalama who was apparently the creator of the Galactic Dragon Balls... just like the Namekians.
That's already canon tho. The Namekians DID create the Super Dragon Balls, and the Dragon Balls themselves are made by Namekians, Namekians are also the oldest race with the most information. It isn't possible for Piccolo to become a dragon, but Piccolo should instead create his own set of Dragon Balls which would be cool. Plus, only the Earth & Namekian Dragons look similar to Namekians, if you read the manga there's a blue dragon that doesn't even resemble Namekians, and Super Shenron doesn't either. Essentially your whole head-canon just falls apart and doesn't make sense. P.S; The Namekian balls even specifically speaks Namekian language, so of course they are made by the Namekians.
@@ribsmeat2333 No, the Namekians DIDN'T create the super dragon balls, it was the Dragon God, Zalama who created them. Read the rest of my comment before you belittle my opinion and perhaps the lore as well. It's where I got my information in the first place bub not just looking at a screen shot of Piccolo and the dragons and saying, "They don't look alike." I'm not talking about faces and body builds, I'm talking about color schemes and basic body structures; like the muscles of Porunga being the same color and texture as Namekians. And the Blue Shenron dragon was made by a weaker Dragon Clan member so perhaps that's why that dragon doesn't look like it's much stronger cousins. In the end it's my opinion and MY head cannon, I never chiseled it in stone and claimed it to be the next DBZ doctrine. You don't have to believe it but don't tear it down to make yourself feel better either.
@@ribsmeat2333 Zalama created the super dragon balls, stop spreading false info. He does look like a Namekian tho, but the Namekians themselves did not create the Super Dragon Balls.
@@thomasmathis4759 The Dark Star Dragon Balls were GT anime only made after Toriyama retired after DBZ. The wiki should have it covered but as far as I know they were still dragon balls tied to Piccolo because when he died in GT they turned to stone just like the regular Dragon Balls. As far as I care they were MacGuffins that weren't thought out very well or explained and gotten rid of as soon as the creators realized they were stupid.
I think growing bigger at 10:42 was more of a leverage thing for Piccolo. You can see he clearly stopped Cell's attack, growing bigger just gave him the leverage he needed to throw him.
You didn’t add in that piccolo inherited a lot the memories from his father. So Piccolo came into the world knowing massive amounts of martial arts for his age.
piccolo's greatest strength has always been his tactical ability, which is not to be underestimated. His tactical knowledge is on par with vegeta, but doesn't have vegeta's pride to stump his strategies, not to mention his insane arsenal of both demon and namek techs. Now that he's gotten that potential unlocked, he's without question a formidable opponent to anyone
I like the fact that it's possible he had 3 "unlocks" by shenron, since he previously fused with nail and, although technically he and kami are the same, they're enough of a difference now to be 2 different entities, so its likely he has 3 timese the "unlocked potential"
Piccolo isnt king piccolo. He's the son of king piccolo and inherited his super namekian nature. Piccolo + nail + kami is the combination of a super namekian, an elite namekian badass, and half a super namekian. He should be the strongest namekian period.
@@newhybrid101 Naw he has no Transformations so he ain't getting that top spot any soon, Characters only became "Main Stay" strong if they have a Transformation to co-inside with it. Helps with marketing and is better writing wise.

What makes Special Beam Cannon so deadly is how monstrously efficient it is. He's drawing more force out of a comparatively small amount of Ki than most finishing moves and firing it in a single high-powered shot. The sheer complexity of the Ki control that goes into it is why most don't seem to utilize it very well, since if you look at other Ki control techniques like Spirit Ball, the characters tend to use much larger blasts that are harder to miss with while his attack is essentially _two_ separate shots that cling together, of which he has to account for both shots traveling at the same speed with one acting as the spear point and the other forming into the shape of a drill. There's so much going on with the move that it makes sense other characters fire it so lazily like they're using a Death Beam or Dodon Ray (both of which are clearly reliant on overwhelming the victim with superior Ki whilst just so happening to do so in a piercing fashion)
Exactly. There is only one recurring move with a comparable charge time to Piccolo's Special Beam Cannon- that being the freaking Spirit Bomb. And, out of the two, the Special Beam Cannon has shown itself capable of being deadly to enemies far stronger than the user, where Spirit Bomb is only a finisher vs ones who're stronger but the user can conceivably still fight with.
@@bragnir Also Kienzan to some extend is a move like that... If only plot would allow for someone, who does not have crazy regenerative cababilities like Buu or being so overpower like Perfect Cell, to actually get hit by it. I like the concept of weaker characters being able to stay in the game with their wits and tricks and not overpowering everyone with their crazy transformations and OP genetics.
It’s also worth mentioning that in the Moro Arc, 17, who was around SSJ3 Goku level right before the ToP, had a hard time keeping up with Saganbo (one of Moro’s minions) while Gohan and Piccolo were still able to keep up. This same Saganbo was able to knock down SSJ3 Goku in a single blow. So I think it’s safe to say that current Piccolo’s base form is at least on par with current SSJ3 Goku if not slightly stronger.
17 is stronger than ssj3 Goku in the manga. 17 was holding back against ssj3 goku which is literally stated. In the T.o.P. he shows PSSB level feats like taking attacks from Jiren intended to eliminate Golden Frieza and even reacting to him and after the the ToP Goku says 17 is as strong as him and Vegeta.
I always thought special beam canon to be at least abit of a hax ability. The longer he charges it the higher the multiplier for it. As well as the spiral beam around the center one is kinda drill like, that helps it get through the "defense" of a higher power level
Piccolo does state in Super Hero that using Become Giant doesn't increase his strength but uses it as a bluff. True, he gains leverage against other giant characters such as Cell Max, but it doesn't raise his power. None the less, his Orange transformation is a significant power up. EDIT: I think Orange Piccolo was a much needed upgrade for Piccolo, but the Beast transformation wasnt necessary, more of a fan service type thing. But its still cool. And Special Beam Cannon is a teqnique that can pierce the barrier made by Gods which it did in the ToP. Super Hero was more about Piccolo's growth than Gohan's in all honesty.
beas was as necessary as orange, they both were considerably weaker than goku and vegeta in their blue forms wich isnt even their strongest forms anymore. Gohan and picolo were useless at that point, both of them getting new forms and power ups to keep up with goku and vegeta is a great thing for the show, I mean, considering that the next saga doesnt put goku and vegeta leagues above gohan and picolo again like they always do.
@@MaRgEd.ZamaSU If it was dbz I would agree with you, but since dbs power levels are all bullshit from the begining I think its nice to at least make important characters like gohan and piccolo to be on pair with goku and vegeta, dbs is a whole lot of weird nonsense things hapening in every single episode, I mean, they brought 17 back and he is just ssb level, the u6 saiyans who didnt even knew what a ssj was are as strong as goku and vegeta, if everybody is sudenly as strong as goku and vegeta then there is nothing wrong with puting gohan and picolo up there aswell.
I could honestly see Toriyama saying that when Picollo uses the Special Beam Cannon. He's drawing in nature energy around him like how when Goku uses the Spirit Ball, he draws in energy from everything.
I think he couldve actually fight cell a little bit better in the movie but really just wanted to see gohan burst onto his real potential so he purposely had himself roughed up. at the end of the movie we see piccolo still standing and looks fine despite all the damage he took from the fighting
Remember, Gohan was eating the senzu that was supposed to be for him. I think Piccolo already losing some energy from fighting with Gamma. With full power maybe Piccolo could do better
Giant piccolo is just better grip and leverage, this technically is just making it easier to lift or handle/grapple as shown, however it won’t make him stronger or more powerful. I think this logic is sound, only thing I’d say is that it’s possible that the extra size can cause more damage do to more weight and surface area landing blows but to these characters that extra power is probably just a drop in the bucket.
I find it's hilarious that with only about 3 transformations, piccolo caught up with Goku. So it seems piccolo transformations happen much slower, but are instead much more powerful.
The reason the special beam cannon is so strong isn't power level it's because of the smaller area and drill like effect. The charging is important due to his concentration more than length of time charged.
So far as I'm aware, it doesn't actually raise power level or unleash more energy than something like Kamehameha wave. He isn't just gathering energy for an attack, he's concentrating it. Compressing it down into a tiny point, and then drilling it through the enemy. It's a force multiplier, by focusing the force into that tiny point.
Piccolo and Vegeta have always had the coolest fighting styles. I always wanted to see them have an even fight. It'd be so dope, probably on par with the 17 vs Piccolo fight or Goku vs Majin Vegeta. They both fight so brutally and yet also intelligently.
I think saying Goku “had” to use Kaioken against Gohan is a bit disingenuous. He didn’t “have” to, he was doing it to test Gohan’s limits and to push him - similar to how Krillin is NOT super saiyan blue level, but he still used that.
Piccolo has always been a special attacker who can always fight people massively over his power level. Sorta like mr po po can actually defend against attacks that should kill someone at his power level by eating Ki attacks as well as ultra instinct. The only way he died was because the plant he was on blew up. Piccolo having solar flare is by far one of the more useful skills in Dragonball regardless of power level.
With out a doubt, Piccolo can one shot anyone in Orange form if he hits special beam canon, how ever it like spirit bomb is super hard to charge then hit. which is why it's only useful if he gets someone lacking or out numbered.
@@boomknight1015 proof he can one shot anyone in orange form? Stop with feelings. He's not one shoting broly, gohan, goku, trunks, goten, any fusion character, jiern, the list goes on.
I always saw special beam cannon and final flash as similar albeit not necessarily as powerful as Goku's spirit bomb. All of them get more powerful the longer you charge them and require time to really be worth using
@@tatersalad76 Well Final flash is Vegeta puting most of his energy into one beam. Final explosion used to kill him, but now that he has Blue Evolved (God Ki) he survives and uses most his energy similar to Final flash. Mostly head canon but makes sense to me.
@@Koi_Swirl in my opinion Vegeta wouldn't survive any of his blasts if he takes it on head on. Final flash and final explosion are both multiplier abilities as seen when he can sorta damage opponents that are far stronger than him with those abilities. He can't get hit with the flash since its a beam but he does get hit with the explosion. The "final explosions" that are done after the Buu arc probably don't have the same quality as the Buu arc one (meaning they are weaker then Vegeta's durability) since he doesn't want to kill himself.
@@Koi_Swirl I also want to clarify on why I said Vegeta and not Goku and the lot. Kamehameha isn't a multiplier ability but a flat attack as in most cases the Kamehameha kills opponents when they are close to be finished and generally never technically scared opponents before that. Also we can see Goku tank his own Kamehameha's on king Kai planet
@@grazyterror7612 If the laws of conservation of energy apply, he should be able to withstand any energy that came from him in the first place. In other words, If it doesn't kill him to use it, it shouldn't kill him from recieving it. Unless the energy comes from an outside source like the spirit bomb does, not solely from Vegeta himself. The exception is if he literally charges it himself and gets hit by his own beam after the energy has already left him. But if it came from a "perfect clone" he should be able to withstand it. That is, assuming our laws of physics apply and they clearly don't 😆
I’m happy to see Him get the power up he deserves! It keeps the idea that training still matters is DBZ, and it doesn’t have to be on camera to be canon. I hope his orange version gets more screen time in the anime/manga, and he gets a new kit and movie list!
One thing I wanna point out. Bulma is able to keep track of some events that occur when they are supposedly fighting at super fast speeds. Obviously could just be a throw away thing or that she's also training in some shape or form. Would be funny if her Power level were supperior to OG back in the Day Freiza.
Probably either due to some high tech device made by her to keep track or the fact she has seen then fight for decades that her eyesight eventually became trained to be able to somewhat keep track of them but probably not to the full extent as the fighters themselves
Piccolo's size change alters mass + strength to me. Makes him physically larger, but in terms of the typical ki "power" I don't think it alters it. As in a Special Beam Cannon in his normal size and his enlarged size would yield the same output. Like his stretchy arms, its just a physical augmentation not something that would alter his ki. However, larger muscles would mean larger strength, hence why he can topple Cell Max where before he was struggling. Otherwise I imagine a very quick end to any fight if he just enlarges his size and does some supercharged Light Grenade to clear the field, er hemisphere.
The way I see it going giant has some of the same, or at least similar drawbacks to the power weighted Grade 3 Super Saiyan form, where you get stronger physically, but also slower and become easier to hit since you're a bigger target.
@@EnergyBurst2 according to old Dragon ball. He actually gains a little strength(nowhere near buff saiyan levels just a small boost) but retains all his speed. The drawback is the bigger target tho.
Yooo thank you for bringing up Piccolo damaging Vados & Whis' barrier, so many people argue about that with me because of the attack. I get it, the Makankōsappō, Demonic Piercing Light Murdering Gun or "Special Beam Canon" acts like a drill of sorts, but it still pierced the friggin barrier, at the very least that means his power is still relevant. Piccolo will always be one of my favorite characters, it's nice to see him and Gohan get some love again.
Orange Piccolo's special beam cannon would be extremely stronger than his base form that's for sure, I mean look at Beast Gohan's, dude was literally causing a huge lightning storm around him with that much energy. Now imagine if Gohan used a Kamehameha or a destructo disc while being on beast form He would make a more terrifying version of these techniques with that much power
Fantastic video, I loved it as usual. My only criticism is that Gohan didn’t really force Goku to use Kaioken, it was more like Gohan begged him to go full out and Goku just did it to entertain him. Just a nitpick tho, good shit keep it up!
I think the problem with Special Beam Cannon is a lot of characters just throw it out, they don't understand it's a more complex technique that pushes and focuses that energy into a very small area, causing massive damage at the sacrifice of speed, so when someone like cell or Buu chuck it out they don't add any power to it, so it becomes a glorified dododon ray or death beam. I think that's the cool part of piccolo, all his attacks have strategy and purpose that only he can understand*
Damn I appreciate how much of the content in the video is actually 1080p. I get so used to people slapping 720p effects, pictures and videos in 1080p videos I forgot what actual HD content looked like on YT. Keep up the good work! I assume you do bits like 5:40 to not stretch the lower quality content?
That’s a hot take and an unique insight on the Special Beam Canon. I have always looked at this technique as a drawback because of the amount of time needed to charge similar to the Spirit Bomb. However with your take it almost puts it in the same category as the Kaioken. Such as Goku’s kiaoken super Kamhameha. As if the SBC was a inspiration for Goku learning the KSK.
It doesn’t take a long time to charge. It only did in the beginning because Picollo didn’t have the base energy levels to supply it fast enough. Spirit Bomb is different because it needs the energy of others.
Well that was why I always liked the special beam cannon. Piccolo can infinitely charge it up way past what level he is on at the time. It just takes a while. So theoretically piccolo can one shot characters that are far more powerful than he is if he can get the opportunity to fully charge his special beam cannon. But I like how the writers don't just use that as an easy win for piccolo. Sometimes he misses or doesn't have time to charge it all the way. But it always states how lucky the enemy got that they weren't hit by it. I think if orange piccolo fully charged his cannon he could one shot Beerus with it. But it seems the problem with the special beam cannon is it is so slow to charge and obviously telegraphed. Kind of like Goku's spirit bomb. You see them charging it. You know what they are planning. So one on one you see it coming a mile away. But in a team fight where they have someone to keep the enemy too busy to notice it charging or dodge it. They are screwed if they get hit by it.
@@duvaughns.337 Well yeah. That is kind of the point. A bigger bullet doesn't help if you miss the target. But there still is that one in a billion chance, IF everything works out perfectly. And you know it would have to be a team effort. Piccolo would need help to pull it off. Someone would have to distract the Beerus while piccolo charged, which could take a very long time to charge it up enough. And they would have to somehow stop Beerus from simply dodging it. So it is a slim to none chance. But in theory it could work.
I have felt as I've grown older that the admiration I had for the saiyins during my childhood as diminished mainly because I've grown to appreciate the original dragon ball series where they did have transformation but there was a greater emphasis on techniques, skills, abilities that would give the advantage to the fighters so it was less about power more about skill and thats how I saw piccolo. Piccolo was always thought of as a brilliant fighter but sadly raw power mattered more I felt the tournament of power was the ideal moment to go back to the roots of the dragonball series and focus on special skills and hidden techniques that would show where the real fighters would surpass raw atrength which would allow krillin and tien an opportunity to reenter the series on par with atleast many of the opponents the z fighters would have. I even remember having that same feeling with pikon as pikons thunder flash attack was able to overwhelm goku and it gave both valid strength and weakness to a fighter but it basically went back to giant beam battles. I still want piccolo on par with the saiyins I want gohan yo not be cast aside anymore I want krillin and tien and even master roshi to show that its not just about transformation and power but what I want doesnt matter sadly so I'll just have to keep my dreams to myself 😔
If I remember right every other ki blast just gets bigger when it gets stronger, but the special beam cannon barely grows at all. The other beams also destroy the area around them while the SBC doesn't. The SBC is both denser and more efficient than the other ki attacks, all because of Piccolo's training.
Someone else pointed that out. Kamehameha is like getting hit with a water balloon that only knocks you down if you can't takes it's force. Special Beam Canon don't give a crap if you could take the hit, the hit is gonna take little chunks of you when it leaves your back.
I think the size increase could increase his strength a bit, but I think with call max it simply made it easier to grapple and fight him, since he is around the same size now.
(The physics of a Lever) Piccolo’s increased size give him a longer mechanical lever therefore increases the amount of force/power he can generate with just a little big amount effort/energy if not less effort/energy. So piccolo is hitting harder with more force and power than ever before just by being bigger and longer. I think you’ll be surprised with how much less energy he’s actually using to be as effective as he was. 10:42
Yes Piccolo was "younger" than Goku, however he was a clone of King Piccolo, born with the same power level and the memories of King Piccolo from the beginning.
It saddens me that piccolo's special beam cannon was stated in Raditz battle to be a two-handed form attack, but since he had only one arm in that battle, his attack was supposedly slower to charge or something like that, and they never got his two handed special beam cannon back, and to really make my point, piccolo taught Gohan Masenko, which uses two hands and is kinda similar as charges energy from the forehead, and can be used one handed like future Gohan used when lost his arm, so, Sepcial Beam Cannon should be in his complete form, a two handed attack 😢
I'm so happy for him as well. Finally people respect him. A person like Piccolo DESERVES respect when they work that hard. I was actually considering reporting non-respect of Piccolo to anti-discrimination authorities, since he's a foreigner. I think some people have bias towards Namekians
I think turning giant just helps him wrestling with other giant characters easily, like Choji from Naruto, but it doesn’t change his ki or make him stronger, just gives him more surface area to work with and probably increases his physical weight for more leverage. If he used it against a smaller character it would probably be a bad idea as it would just give THEM more surface area to strike him and also slow him down.
Great video and something I realized is this... Piccolo is severely underrated in the series as of late but now with these new increases in power (Lime Piccolo & Orange Piccolo) it further showcases how talented of a fighter he is. There are Tiers in Dragon Ball and I think this is how it goes (in no particular order) Tier 1 - Fighting Geniuses: Goku, Vegeta & Piccolo Tier 2 - Experienced Fighters: Krillin, Yamcha, Tien & Master Roshi Tier 3 - Hidden Potential Fighters: Gohan, Future Trunks & Broly (the new version) Tier 4 - Inexperienced Fighters: Goten, Trunks & Pan *Uub is an honorable mention who can start off at Tier 4 & move to Tier 3 I know people might look at this list weird BUT I based it on FIGHTING SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE NOT STRENGTH. It's clear as day that Goku, Vegeta & Piccolo have the most fighting knowledge & savvy out of all the characters of Team Z
i the Game Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaich 3, if i remember correctly, did the special Beam Cannon (or Hell Spiral) just pierce throu any other Beam (like KameHameHa for example)
Always liked Piccolo. Glad he's getting a power up. He's been around for ever and has earned it. I'd like to see him turn gigantic and use the Special beam cannon, just for the overkill lol
Bro amazing video for me a huge Piccolo fan u talked about everything I hoped you would and did him justice explaining how truly powerful he is, so many people wanna downplay him. U keep making fire content bro Also yeah I definitely can't wait to see orange Piccolos special beam cannon
I think what makes Orange Piccolo so strong is that in the form his strength is buffed up to match his level of fighting intelligence and overall strategist that is Piccolo's biggest strength IMO. He is similarly strong to UE Vegeta, and smarter yet slower than UI Goku I would think
A 8 year old training a 5 year old isn't that implausible, the fact piccolo taught himself everything on his own after Goku killed his daddy in the wilderness gave him the experience to train Gohan.
10:48 I believe growing to Cell Max size increases his prowess against Cell Max because he is a Martial artist and so he can grapple and deflect and etc better against a humanoid being like Cell. That can be seen as a relative power increase. It makes it so at the same power he can better utilize his body and technique just by being at the same size and structure as his opponent. You can see in the movie the main thing he tried against Cell Max is grappling him and even if you're strong, having the reach to fully utilitize your body is crucial.
I don't think Piccolo's power level goes up when he increases his size. I think he just hits harder because of the added mass and gets the benefit of extra range as well.
Piccolo just has mastery of ki control including SBC. More than any other z fighter. All his moves prove this like hell zone grenade. Moving he ki blasts like heat seeking missiles, even the all powerful clothes beam. It seems piccolo just understands ki on a molecular level
I love how all these dragon ball experts try to calculate and understand and compare power levels throughout the series, meanwhile akira toriyam is just like "Oh shit, I forgot I made frieza stronger than that guy that time...no bigger". My man literally just improvising at this point. and for some reason im still hooked😂
As a Piccolo fan, I love that he was made relevant again and look forward to what gets do e with him. I would love to see Orange Piccolo spar against Goku & Vegata. While with Goku it would be serious but fun, against Vegeta, I'm sure it would be destructive bc while those 2 have a respectable for one another, there is tension lol. I would also love to see what Piccolo, the Master of the Special Beam Cannon can do as well, but also feel like he should develope a New Move as well! My only fear is that Piccolo, while gaining this new found power while still only get used as a Measuring stick when it comes to Villains! Also while I love this new Piccolo, I'm not a fan of how the power was achieved! I just think it would have been better if he gained this power on his own & then displayed it, WOWing EVERYONE, even Whis & Beerus!

Who the hell keeps hiding my comments!?! Is it just the algorithm or something?
I dont take orange piccolo seriously
I think Piccolo increasing his size against Cell Max is more for leverage. Kind of like lifting a mattress. You can be strong enough to lift it solo, but the size and lack of rigidness makes it awkward and difficult.

he actually says that he cannot control his power while being that big so i agreed with what you say
That’s why krillin suggested it because krillin knows it doesn’t make him stronger but Gohan didn’t really know this about his form

He also fused with nail
He also recognized Shin energy
I'm sorry for the long comment, I definitely could have condensed it if I wasn't ranting and impatient, but to sum it up:
Let's face it, the concept of God Ki began and ended as a way to make Goku and Vegeta stronger.

Same goes for the disctructo disc by the way, even though much less powerful, it has slicing damage and may cut you in half. Freezer survived the spirit bomb, but did not survive a disc attack.

It's where I got my information in the first place bub not just looking at a screen shot of Piccolo and the dragons and saying, "They don't look alike."
I'm not talking about faces and body builds, I'm talking about color schemes and basic body structures; like the muscles of Porunga being the same color and texture as Namekians.

@@BaranZenon Kienzan is freaking beastly. Just considering it too a gap as huge as Perfec Cell vs Krillin to negate it.
But can he beat the allegations?
I believe his massive amount of meditation is what allows him superior control over the technique

Piccolo’s been my favourite character for years. Seeing him finally get a spotlight after what’s been like over 20 years is nice to see.
@@danielsepulveda5852but without training it's unnecessary
Don’t forget Piccollo can regenerate lol
He could, but I don't think he can break Cell Max's head to be honest.
He is Gohan's dad after all, of course he'd want him to get some good hits in too
@@big.gib.4L I know it's a joke and all (and a really old one), but I've always seen Piccolo as more of a big brother to Gohan
Just different version of destucto disk? And we saw how nerf that can is.
@Googleisstupid-sk3hm destruco disc also has a small charge time and as we know doesn't always cut
Raditz’s scouter read it at 1,700+ power level when Piccolo was only at 400+. So the technique can x4 the user’s power by focusing the ki
People tend to forget these facts.
Unlike with Krillin in the Next episode's recap of the fight the narrator says: "Gohan showed power that rivaled Goku's"
Gohan Asks Goku for it to go all out. so yeah i think he didnt need to do that.
I agree ... Power scaling in dbs is so fucked really.
@@jacobgardner3101 yeah, its just cherry picking

All of them get more powerful the longer you charge them and require time to really be worth using
Final Flash is actually powered up the more Vegeta's target just stands there like an arrogant bastard lol
It's already stated as a canon form, like broly. Hopefully the anime can return sooner so we can see more of his move and also we can see MUI vs Moro
You’ve been killing it lately with the uploads Seth
Piccolo's size change alters mass + strength to me. Makes him physically larger, but in terms of the typical ki "power" I don't think it alters it. As in a Special Beam Cannon in his normal size and his enlarged size would yield the same output. Like his stretchy arms, its just a physical augmentation not something that would alter his ki. However, larger muscles would mean larger strength, hence why he can topple Cell Max where before he was struggling.
Otherwise I imagine a very quick end to any fight if he just enlarges his size and does some supercharged Light Grenade to clear the field, er hemisphere.
DB doesn't operate on real world size like that. That's not how the author conceives things.
I always loved piccolo's ability to break out of the dbz power system and use strategy to one-up his op
Seth has really been on his grind these past few weeks, love to see it.
He's always been my favorite character. I'm so happy that he finally got a power up.
It was overdue
Orange Piccolo's special beam cannon would be extremely stronger than his base form that's for sure, I mean look at Beast Gohan's, dude was literally causing a huge lightning storm around him with that much energy. Now imagine if Gohan used a Kamehameha or a destructo disc while being on beast form
He would make a more terrifying version of these techniques with that much power
I love that you have Chrono Trigger music in the background
Best moment is when Gohan shows him he can do special beam cannon! True respect for his teacher and stand in dad!
thats also probably why piccolo deadass smacked cells beam out of the way, the technique wasnt correctly performed and thus was super weak
Its awesome that we are finally getting to see gohan and piccolo starting to get stronger and hopefully they don't fall into obscureity again
Spirit Bomb is different because it needs the energy of others.
i was honestly happy when they remembered that piccolo could go big and that he could extend his arms. truly an amazing movie super hero was
I yoo think it was a great movie. I watched it 3 times thus far and every time I watched it I grew more fond of it
Ok am I crazy? I can’t find it anymore but didn’t piccolo go big (not giant) to fight Garlic Jr?
Definitely not one tapping Beerus with it lol
@@BronyGaming-or8kvyes it can but it needs to charge like a year for that lol
Beerus gettin clapped by the cannon 💥 hands down IF and big IF he gets hit😅
@@duvaughns.337 Well yeah. That is kind of the point. A bigger bullet doesn't help if you miss the target. But there still is that one in a billion chance, IF everything works out perfectly. And you know it would have to be a team effort. Piccolo would need help to pull it off. Someone would have to distract the Beerus while piccolo charged, which could take a very long time to charge it up enough. And they would have to somehow stop Beerus from simply dodging it. So it is a slim to none chance. But in theory it could work.
You a real one for using that throwback wiz instrumental
I never knew Piccolo was that young, I thought he was older than Goku because of how mature he is.
Special Beam Canon don't give a crap if you could take the hit, the hit is gonna take little chunks of you when it leaves your back.
bless your heart for trying to reason DBZ power scaling, futile but admirable
Orange Piccolo vs SethTheProgrammer after the allegations.
I dunno man I feel like piccolo wouldn't stand a chance if he's underaged.
Im pretty stoked to watch this. Have not watched the series in many many years but always been a Picollo fan!
Maybe my favorite character with Vegeta and Gohan. So glad that he gets the love that he deserves and even consistently with the rest ob DB. Love it.
Good stuff dude. A fellow nerd can tell when a nerd of differing specialty is speaking with authority and experience. Kudos. Liked and sub'd.
What authority and experience? Nothing in dragonball matters at all.
So happy my body piccolo is getting the respect he deserves he was basically the main character of super hero
And Gohan
I'm so happy for him as well. Finally people respect him. A person like Piccolo DESERVES respect when they work that hard. I was actually considering reporting non-respect of Piccolo to anti-discrimination authorities, since he's a foreigner. I think some people have bias towards Namekians
Piccolo vs 17 was so peak man🔥 I miss those days.
He *literally says this in the movie*
this has to be the lowest form of discussion, and yet i can't look away. soothing brain glaze
Great video and something I realized is this...
Piccolo is severely underrated in the series as of late but now with these new increases in power (Lime Piccolo & Orange Piccolo) it further showcases how talented of a fighter he is. There are Tiers in Dragon Ball and I think this is how it goes (in no particular order)
Tier 1 - Fighting Geniuses: Goku, Vegeta & Piccolo
Tier 2 - Experienced Fighters: Krillin, Yamcha, Tien & Master Roshi
Tier 3 - Hidden Potential Fighters: Gohan, Future Trunks & Broly (the new version)
Tier 4 - Inexperienced Fighters: Goten, Trunks & Pan
*Uub is an honorable mention who can start off at Tier 4 & move to Tier 3
I know people might look at this list weird BUT I based it on FIGHTING SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE NOT STRENGTH.
It's clear as day that Goku, Vegeta & Piccolo have the most fighting knowledge & savvy out of all the characters of Team Z
I've always had the mentality that the special beam cannon would win any beam struggle, and I guess the lore backs me up on that lol
i the Game Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaich 3, if i remember correctly, did the special Beam Cannon (or Hell Spiral) just pierce throu any other Beam (like KameHameHa for example)
Let's go man daily Seth uploads gotta love it

I think what makes Orange Piccolo so strong is that in the form his strength is buffed up to match his level of fighting intelligence and overall strategist that is Piccolo's biggest strength IMO. He is similarly strong to UE Vegeta, and smarter yet slower than UI Goku I would think
piccolo training young gohan in Z is quite literally a 4 year old getting guidance from an 8 year old that is extremely hilarious in hindsight
A 8 year old training a 5 year old isn't that implausible, the fact piccolo taught himself everything on his own after Goku killed his daddy in the wilderness gave him the experience to train Gohan.
@@justinarzola4584 it’s most likely the least implausible thing in this series haha
Bro you’re background music is 🔥
10:48 I believe growing to Cell Max size increases his prowess against Cell Max because he is a Martial artist and so he can grapple and deflect and etc better against a humanoid being like Cell.
Piccolo has always been super underrated. I love that they made him relevant again and I'm all here for it
