Please have the main windows on the camp side. I’ll never understand why they put the big windows on the non-campsite. I don’t want to look out the window while I’m eating and see my neighbors.
Uk here, I must agree I only like light insides, but we do have windows all around, but there’s a rule that each plot in width is about 24’ minimum, then there’s a grass area of another 10’ that’s not for use only to be a fire break should there be a fire. Your rigs seem very close to each other, a bit like parking a car in a car park, and neighbours are able to see in your van, but that doesn’t happen here. So we have at least 10’ fire break then another 24’ minimum for your pitch then plus another 10’fire break.
I am currently sitting in my rv at the NRVTA campus rv park. Tomorrow I will start RV fundamentals class. Then the following two weeks I will be taking RV inspectors class. Girl power!!

With your experience in living in & borrowing various types of RV's, I can't think of better people to come up with the cream of the crop of Rv design. I have total faith in your input. This company should know how fortunate they are to grow from your knowledge.
No more crank up antennas. On our last two rv’s we have installed a 360 degree antenna. No more cranking up and trying to find the signal. We lost an antenna because we forgot to crank it down. Also the electric cord and water hose on reels. A 50 amp electric cord is heavy.
We have a 390rkr. We are contemplating a triple axle conversion. We are at or over loaded with little to few items loaded. Please, please, please, please have Grand Design install triple axles or 8k standard or 9k optional axles from the factory. Our rig needs $10,000 of upgrades just so we can take more than a suitcase worth of clothes. And yes, we have been across the cat scales to prove it. Please, please, please, please, please! With sugar on top!
One of the nicest thing I have seen is a hole (with a lid) in the counter that has the trash can underneath. It was near the sink and prep space! In one, it was on the outside wall and there was a door to remove from the outside!
Remember that not everyone is 6' tall! Cabinets and shelves are usually unreasonably high. same for the microwave.Toilet should not be crammed in a corner. Switches or valves for tanks need to be where they can be easily reached without bending in half.
Put a metal grid on the wall to allow baskets or other hangings of choice. Put a strip on the outside that will allow magnetic attachments or similar way to use the side of an rv
Did you ever imagine when you sold your home that this is where your journey would take you? Amazing! Enjoy every moment! It is awesome to see how far you have come!
so cool seein y'all in my neck of the woods! Super cool about the Lippert RV school ~ I should check that out! I didn't know that was a thing, seems super informative :)
That is so cool you both designing your new Rv! I’m happy for you both! I would love to see the design and I can’t wait til it’s finished. Marissa I’m so happy for you to a certificate so you can fix Rvs if something happens. It’s nice that Lippert had this class for you to go through! Sad you are selling your Rv! But happy for you at the same time. Hope you have a great night and safe travels and see you soon! Love you guys! 🤗💕
Please for the love of all that's holy, the one major change that would benefit a lot of people, is to change the mattress thickness common to most rvs; right from the get go. The ones we have in our new to us 2020 Forest River Cherokee Wolf Pup are one step up from sleeping on the ground. I told my husband like in the kids bunk area, both of the mattresses stacked on top of each other and one kid might get a half way decent nights sleep, yikes! Yes, as soon as we can those are the first thing to go in our rv they are cringe worthy at best.
Hopefully you do somewhat the same bathroom as changing lanes. Its a great use of wasted hallway space. Only thing I didn't like was the door on the water closet. Reminded me of our old style camper with no room in there. Cant wait to see what you do with the kids room. We have a cougar with the 4 rear bunks. Always thinking of what we will do once they get bigger.
I would love to see a proper automotive style wiring loom thru out (not just in visible areas). Always imagined a 120v loom and a 12v loom neatly running the length of the rig. Terminating orderly at the service panel. ( if you’ve ever look behind the service panel…Yikes! You’ll know what I mean.
So cool guys! Hey, do you still love your Bedding? I am struggling between the Minky or the cotton. Do you find that the Minky can be too hot at times?
It would be extraordinary to have the steps in a fifth wheel designed with more architectural appeal and function in mind. I’ve only seen it once in a renovated fifth wheel. the steps were to totally hidden by the hall and curved toward the kitchen/living room area. It would be easy to design these with storage drawers or the top of the stairs acting as a hinged lid for storage.
Regarding RVs and travel, I feel like y'alls channel is under appreciated. I see other content creators who have way more subscribers with content that doesn't compare. Keep up the good work.
Grand design is owned by Winnebago and they do this as well and it’s so cool. I got to stay at Winnebagos campground in Forrest city Iowa before the tour and that was cool as well.
@@LessJunkMoreJourney I feel your pain! Growing pains! You guys did great in the Viva! Congratulations on your summer of adventures! But living full-time you have to have options!
Awesome, designing a 5th wheel....how cool! I have a suggestion, is it possible to suggest a very sturdy hand rail for going up the rv stairs inside to the bedroom, and maybe outside to get in the rig? This would help for handicapped people. Just a thought 😊 Congrats on receiving a certificate regarding rv repair Marissa! It's always great to get trained by the technicians who work on / create the stuff.
I had a friend build his RV, he forgot about pulling your knickers down in the loo, his wife had to take knickers down and back into it. It gave everyone something to laugh about for a while. He was able to fix it and did so.
Very cool to be able to collaborate with GD. One easy fix for all RVs is to just automatically come with a more comfortable mattress from the start. It seems it’s always the first thing we do when we buy a new RV - get a more comfortable mattress. 😜🤣
So awesome! Does anyone have advice on selling an rv? I have a 2020 keystone Montana high country 384BR that I’m ready to sell. If anyone has suggestions I’d sure appreciate any advice.
Cant wait to see the final build and what comes of it, our next rig will probably be a Grand Design!! As full timers, we need something stable and heavy duty so hope they make some adjustments! Been doing this since 2012 and on our 3rd one which is a Jayco 😅 Great stuff, keep up the awesome work!!
This might have to be invented.... But I would want mobile toilet that sits on wheels, and can be moved around, but has a home docking station when flushing or housing. Similar concept to robot vacuum docking station. The docking station could be designed to be in a cupboard or out in the open depending on users or builders preferences. The mobile toilet would need the option to move or lock into place while using. And height adjustment options would be nice. A mobile toilet would solve so many bathroom issues and create new possibilities with how you use your bathroom. Different body width, lengths and height needs... no problem. Can't reach your tp, phone, makeup, or root beer float... no problem. Need a seat in front of the sink and mirror to get ready for the day or for little kids to use as a stool to wash hands.... no problem. Plus you gain floor space and vertical storage space where the the non moveable toilet would have had its permanent residence. I'm thinking the docking station should be under the sink. If designed correctly the sink plumbing could help flush the toilet. And you would save water by first using the water to wash your hands then that same water could flush the toilet. RV toilets don't take much water to flush so that should be a realistic option. But some times you need the sink while still sitting on the toilet, or use the sink but not the toilet, so adding a smallish greywater tank under the sink for short term greywater storage that could later be used to flush the toilet would solve that problem. But I think that small greywater tank should be removable and made so the user can access inside the tank for cleaning, clogs or lost items down the drain or whatnot.
We laughed so hard that Nathan was riding around in Corey's trailer while he was moving, and then heard a voice from the bathroom. Leila sounds so much like her mom, we thought that was Jessie.

If you don't put a second bathroom with a tub for kids I'll pass out. Haha. It was so hard for us to find the perfect rig for our family to live in full time because our son was 3 when we moved in and NEEDS his bath time. Haha. It's his favorite part of bedtime. Luckily we did find a 2020 Forest River Sierra that has 2bd and 2 full bathrooms, but after living in it there's definitely things we wish we could change so I'm always looking for our future upgrade. Haha.

I really hoped ya’ll would have done this with NEW HORIZONS RV’s. It would not fall apart when pulled off the lot and break down every trip. I’m really disappointed in your decision to buy another production RV.
I have a feeling that Lipperts Classes are going to be too popular, in time of course. While hands on is ideal, if they made videos it would be a great help.
The problem with adding everything you wa t comes down to cost. You likely will not be able to afford it. I would like to see RVs with cat box area, something were the cat goes in the basement to use the box and you open and clean from the outside.

Seriously how it's this not more common!!!
Good suggestion.
I like at least a couple windows on the driver's side. You need it in case someone's outside your rig!
Do yall have 2 RVs???
Please no dark wood. Stay light and bright. Pre wire for solar and satellite. Make sure the axles are independently suspended and with
Disc brakes

Good question, we are not sure how that works but we will see.
