You can only use a catted pipe So now I have to do a pro tune. Which is not bad. Because I can get rid of more rev hang and likely will have better gains with a catless pipe Might even start making videos again on my channel to. I have the 19’ wrx btw
How reliable do they become once you start fiddling with these kind of mods? Blew a stock engine at around 62k already, but you know big boys needs toys. Sold my sport bike and im left with only my wrx to play with. Work gave me a truck so my car is only evening/week end warrior now but id hate to put money into it just to start having trouble with it. Im not that into all the plastic pieces you can fit on it to make it look good, they all end up beeing the exact same when you do but more power in a '' sleeper'' wrx is appealing to me. So heres to OP and the rest of you watching this, i work construction and im not much of a mechanic unfortunatly, if i get my mechanic to install the ''stage 2 + '' parts that required, will my car become a flip the coin sort of deal? Breaks w/e or is it actually reliable to mod it so? Also, i live up north in the land of cold and snow, does it matter at all? Thank you for your shared wisdom
Hold on a second, this isn’t a Cobb stage 2 plus. This is consider stage 1plus. Stage 2 plus would be fuel pump injectors, rail etc etc. so what is this stage 2 plus? Well I do have an STI not sure if that’s different

If you keep the stock exhaust and just run the j pipe and all other parts that come with this tune, can you get the same-ish power? Also, can you share your experience about the CEL and other warning lights, warranty issues, etc? I have emissions where I live in CO, so will need a cat for sure as well!
Make sure you do the TVG' EGR deletes and boost controller before you bring it to brentuning.. you want to be able to squeeze out a few horsepowers which those mods bring and it's very inexpensive.. and you definitely don't want pay for a retune it if you do decide to get those down the line
You're a good dude- and need to get yourself a pro-tune and go Stage 3 if you have Ethanol out in Mass. It's everywhere out here in Oklahoma.. Will be there shortly myself. Have fun building it out man!

Stage 2+ is air intake and downpipe plus tune, cobb doesnt have a tune for that, youll need an etune, or go for the stage 2+ kit from maperformance, they include in the price the tune for that specific kit, vía cobb accesport

Hey man please help me I have a aftermarket top mount intercooler forgot what brand it is and a AEM air intake and a grimspeed catted downpipe what stage would this be and what would the best map to run please help me man also I use 93 for the gas
The intake is mainly for the noise. If you get the j pipe and the catback you can run the ots stage 2 map from cobb. If you get an intake on top of that, you can run the stage 2+. From my understanding, you need to buy all cobb parts to run the ots maps. Hope I helped!
I beg to differ. Intake does help, in the Powerband. I've noticed a significant difference since installing the cobb big sf. Plus I am old school, I want to hear my turbo spooling, not just some pops from the exhaust.

Honestly, try taking mothers back to black, to that front lip. Will bring back the clean black, and gives it some water repellent qualities.

Stage 2 plus is downpipe, air intake and tune, stage 3 adds fuel pump , injectors
Stage 1 is Just tune with stock engine no Bolt ons, stage 1+ is intake and tune

Cobb told me they do not have a stage 2+ tune and that I would have to run a stock intake to make it work. This on a 2017 sti

that is literally the definitely of what stage 2 is on WRX's. Sure you need an EBCS and an AP, but you have to have those to support the car.
