Just went to Stage 2 in my 2020 WRX with the Cobb J-Pipe/down-pipe combination and the Cobb Intake and Access Port. I had the off the shelf tune for a day before, taking it to Snail Performance in Phoenix and getting a pro tune. The pro tune made a clear difference in the way the car drives, and it drives fast. The dyno showed 290 WHP/295 Ft-Lb TRQ, but more importantly, it is a hell of a lot of fun to drive.
No matter what trim you have the 2.0 WRX in it doesn't make anything below 2,800 rpm ish anyways...It certainly makes a lot more at that RPM with a tune however.
my new fav channel ! Keep the wrx vids coming man .Ive had my 2016 Black wrx for a few months now done mostly aesthetic mods so fac and just a muffler delete etc .Saving up for a cobb ap!
I know it’s an old video but i would not drive it on a cold start, i take minimum 5 minutes to warm up and at least 10 to hit boost, and i could tell your engine is not even warm enough to be hitting boost. Just me but people later wonder why there car messes up.
good video bro I also have stage 2+ I have noticed the same thing with the tune gotta keep it at about 2400 rpm or it feels like your lugging but after that its do fun. I have been driving mine for about 3months now on the cobb stage 2+ I've had no issues yet its conservative but I think it's good for a daily driver but if your looking for max power a pro tune is the way to go but all in all cobb tune is good.
You raise the topic of e-tune. I know of four suppliers- 1. Cobb, 2. MAPerformance, 3. Phatbotti and 4. Brentune. I am trying to decide between 2, 3, and 4. Any thoughts or comments out there?
Cool video. Not sure if it's your shifting or not but it definitely still seems to have some pretty serious rev hang from 1st to 2nd. I have an 18' that's still stock, wanting to go DP+tune but man I really hope the rev hang can be tuned out, it's hideous to drive in stock form. Is the rev hang still bad or do you think it's better?
I'm sure a lot has changed with your car since then, but you got a feedback knock event under WOT in first and second gear in your little pull at the beginning.
Love the content. I'm slowly starting to add to my car and your channel is my guide! Just got an AP and I'm Iooking forward to the next upgrade. What was the order of the parts you got? Also, what happened to your Seicane head unit?
I took the headunit out of my last WRX and haven't had time to put it back in the new one. I think I will install it in the next month or so. If you just go the ap, I suggest getting a intake next. Then a catted jpipe. Then pre-protune, go for tgv's. That will make decent power.
I have a 2017 wrx. I’ve heard before that the stock Intake is good for about 400hp. I don’t know if I believe that or not but I bought the Cobb intake and Cobb anyway and if you like the turbo whistle noise, please get it 😂 it’s amazing. Lots of turbo whistle inside the car and i did notice a power gain after the intake and Cobb install
A while ago u made a video talking about how much a stock internal, stock turbo wrx cvt could handle safely. How much do you think that the manual wrx could handle safely?
I bought the wife a CVT WRX. I have the cold air intake done. Want a bigger top mount and a high flow catted J pipe. But will need the transmission cooler prior then a tune. A shame Cobb don't do the Accessport for CVT's
From what I have read, there is no issues with going stage 1. You might be able to do a cobb intake too and go 1+. You might consider some trans cooler modifications at that point. I wouldn't go stage 2 with the cvt unless you are ready for a possibility of replacing the trans.

Nice I just did my wrx stage 2 and I can feel the difference and I am in CT I drive a lot in mass and I’ll see you on the highway 🏁🏁
Nice nice. Yeah it definitely feels faster on the butt dyno!
Lol see you on the MApike

Just ordered my MAperformance down pipe with an intake, and stage two tune. Can’t wait to see if it’s as different as everyone says.
Congrats!
I heard maperformance was a little bit smoother boost and power intake as to a cobb

lol just saw this comment. Thanks for the support! The AP will make a huge change!
This new content is gold. Happy to see you are enjoying the manual wrx.
Thanks for the support!
Sounds great! You need to race a stock wrx to see side by side
I am sure it will be an easy win lol, but i need to find someone willing to pull
He’s alive....
I am!

I assume you live in a cold part of the country if you let your car warm up that long

The protune ended up being really worth it.
FA might be the next legend to replace the EJ🤔
It alrady is in Japan replacing the old sti engines

It's completely gone. I choose to shift that way and let rpm drop a little. It makes the ride as smooth as possible for the gopro lol.
It's easily tuned out

I zoomed in as well. 😂
Still Gonna SENT IIIIT!!

Move to Texas. PLENTY of places to gas it. You probably have been able to floor it wherever you want these last couple months tho.
Bro wait i live right near there, also have a vb we should link up!
How much power and torque?
hey man from the area love the car
Do you really need an aftermarket intake ive heard mixed reviews. Would I be good with just a Jpipe, cat back and the tune?

@@midwestvibes5284 stock intake on the wrx is actually pretty good but yeah aftermarket just noise
Have u thought about that lightweight flywheel with clutch package ? Or what's ur thoughts on that
That's Norwell MA if I ever saw it
are you worried about the clutch not being able to handle the increase in HP and torque? Stage 2 clutch down the road?
Eh, I think it will be okay. If/when I have to replace the clutch, I will probably just throw an oem in.
Wrx clutch is trash comp 2 is way to go feel stock but strong
So if I get a Cobb stage 2+ kit could I have a pro tuned thrown on top? New to tuning.
Not an expert but, yes the pro tune will maximize the potential of your mods and protect your engine.
No place to floor it? Shame. What a shame.
lol
so cobb sf intake stage 1+ then j-pipe stage 2 tune?
A while ago u made a video talking about how much a stock internal, stock turbo wrx cvt could handle safely. How much do you think that the manual wrx could handle safely?
If you still need a answer 2 years later it’s about 300-350hp 400 if your changing out parts intake bov intercooler etc
@@TokyosArc Really appreciate the reply😂, currently driving a isf, but the wrx is still a future project of mine, most likely in the next 3 months.
i have the subaru wrx 2018 automatic, should i go stage 1 and can i go stage 2?

Actually just read that they do the stage 1 for CVT....... Nice. I'll have to the Accessport now for the wife

Yup, and a big change in the car in my opinion!
Steve Grunberger u ugly for getting a cvt
what pov camera you use
Was that check engine light flashing?
Or tpms
I wanna go stage 1 on my 15 WRX but I’m only 18 and it’s expensive 😣😣
In time my friend. You’ll get there
arsenalrock04 yes
Goals ! We all have dreams for our build :)
Freeignition I’m actually really debating about trading in my WRX for an STI 😫
I think about it all the time but whenever I put on a new mod I fall in love with my WRX all over again...but that sti rumble is so alluring
Looks great! Could use a JDM front Grill tho (;
MAPerformance ots tune puts Cobb’s ots to shame. Cobb’s ots is not going to hit 300whp especially with your mods.
No personal experience with it, my two cents....get protuned as fast as possible
I like MAP's OTS better for everyday driving, but Cobb's tune seems to make more top end...This for That
@@dasboot9471 thanks for this comment. did you see this in testing or read it in their graphs?
whats the 0-60
not sure yet, I am guess it must be a second less than stock. At least.
exhaust set up?
your shifting needs some major work bud
What spacers are you running?
Not running any!
Live in quincy I see
yes sir!
Did this fix the rev hang from the stock tune?
yes it will stage 1 and beyond will fix that
This is satire right
