There are times when it feels like a watch was made for you. The FXD definitely stirs up debates so by all means criticise away! My Crit: I would've taken "Pelagos" off the dial. This watch is bespoke enough to be a different property from the family. I'd be very keen to know your thoughts about how they approached the model and the improvements you'd want. Something tells me this is going to be a template for the next generation of Pelagos models we'll be seeing soon (with bracelets, He Valves etc.) ⚓
You are really making me consider this piece. I loved it on the release and I have considered the BB58 Blue so many times. I just have to come to terms with the fixed lugs… which you made a very compelling case for. Great commentary as always!
I have a LHD, and now I think you have sold me on the FXD. I was considering a Blue P, but the Blue on that one was slightly brighter. As you mentioned unique, and far from the flexing hyped watches that us true collectors can actually dream and get within a reasonable budget.
I don't mind that it is a Pelagos, but "OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED" is really unnecessary knowing that above it, it says CHRONOMETER which says the same in one line😅
This is my expectation as well. That this will be the blueprint for the next gen Pelagos and that’s why I didn’t buy it. Id rather buy it, when it comes out as the new normal pelagos with a bracelet and put it on a strap when i want to. This is like a convertible with no closing roof. It is too limiting.
Congratulations! I'm proud of you and love your choice of the FXD. I'm retired from the U.S. Navy, having spent 21 years sailing around the world on aircraft carriers, battleships and destroyers. Early in my career I was an administrative clerk (yeoman) for a SEAL unit. I remember very clearly Tudor subs being given out as standard issue. I should of snagged one back then, not being able to afford one now - but the name Tudor as stuck in my mind as a quality watch. Military folk just want something to work with little fuss. It's nice to know that Tudor hasn't forgotten that. Enjoy that watch, brother!
I was a shallow water sailor (USCG) in the late 70s-early 80s. I remember the first thing I bought when I got on my duty station was a nice watch, a Bulova Accutron. It got lost over the years, though and I should have bought something a little more durable.
Thank you so much for this video. For months now, I'm thinking about getting this beauty. After watching your video, I called my AD immediately. I'm gonna pick it up on January 5th. Again: THANK YOU 🙏🏻
One year on the waitlist in Portland,OR and I just picked up my new FXD. Definitely worth the wait and it looks and feels great on the wrist. The matte blue bezel and titanium are so understated. Completely chill time piece that checks all the boxes and will stand the test of time.
I really wanted to hold back on the review (and unveiling) to let things mull over. And thank you Richard. Gotta say, 5 months on and every day still feels like a pleasure. It's hard to describe but "Cathartic" still feels like the best word ;)
Gah! It’s such an amazing watch!!! I know my husband really wants one of these. They just wear so well on the wrist. Very cool watch and big congrats on the Tudor purchase! 💙✨✨✨💙
Why there aren't 1m subscribers to this channel is beyond me. I'm an Architect/Designer (and a watch enthusiast). Everything you perceive is spot on. We look at things around us with the same lens. Well done and thank you. Please keep doing what you are doing. Everyone will catch on eventually catch up.
I randomly purchesed sight unseen a Panerai 233 (for my 7" wrist!) and it has had a suffocating stranglehold on my collection for 2 years so much so that I stopped watching almost all watch channels. The 44mm PAM has changed the way I think about watch size. The only piece to see the light of day during the this Panerai reign has been my Helson Shark Diver 38 Titanium that I use for actual sporting activities. A few weeks ago the thumbnail for this video caught my eye; Blue dial, white indices, lumed mat bezel, grey titanium case, similar to my Helson. After looking a little deeper I now have one on its way. I'm a big fan of not having a me-too time piece and I think I'm going to like this one.
Bravo Boet! The FXD is an absolute beauty of a Watch. I tried one on before opting to buy my P01 instead. I knew that I had my heart set on the P01 since it’s release and was caught in a conundrum when I saw the FXD. I didn’t want to get involved in another’collectable’ Watch after Tudor had put the date on the caseback. It really is a stunning piece though. I wasn’t that impressed with the Velcro strap that it came with as it felt a bit wobbly on the wrist. I didn’t really think about using different straps but, you’re correct, the FXD is a true strap monster and I think is probably better on other NATO straps like you are using. The Pelagos line is a great range of watches. One of the real tool Watches produced by Tudor who I believe are the ‘Tool Watch’ arm of Rolex as opposed to being jewellery like Rolex has now become. I don’t think that the association with the Marine Nationale should make the FXD a range in itself. It obviously came from the Pelagos family (the French Navy probably used those too) so, I believe that ‘Pelagos’ belongs on the dial. It’s a bit like saying that a Mil Sub shouldn’t have ‘Submariner’ on the dial I feel. I knew that you wanted a ‘22’ model for some reason and now I know why, your birthdate. What a special touch to bond with the Watch even more. Congratulations on the acquisition my friend and you did the right thing in leaving it for a few months before doing your review. That makes it a true review from experience. You’ve got the FXD on my mind again now (lol). I may have to see if I can try on another. Great video as always my friend. ✊
Thanks a million for the message Thomas! Ah, it's one of those occasions that I'm so glad to have been able to share on the channel. Like you and your P01, it just goes to show that there is a model out there for all of us (and Tudors underrated gems are something else) Have a great weekend brother! 🥃
Aaaahhh, you may have found the one watch that could be your ONLY watch! Amazing video, review, and message you have sent to the watch community. CONGRATULATIONS on obtaining such an outstanding piece. Every time you release a video like this my head swivels from my target like a dog seeing a squirrel. The FXD might, just might, take me off target. I also respect the tee shirt you sported in the video. Very appropriate. Semper Fidelis!
I walked into my AD about a month back and the FXD was sitting in the case! Yep just sitting there! I put it on my wrist and walked around my AD for about 2 hours deciding whether I wanted to buy it or not, crazy I know! I fell in love with the entire watch and decided it had to come home with me, and I have no regrets since this watch is a great dive watch and I love the light weight. I love it so much that I keep buying different straps for it lol. Thank you for a great video!
Congrats on your FXD - it is a cracking good watch! I tried it on two months ago at my AD when I picked up my 126610LV. Loved the way it fit my 6.75" wrist. Wear it in good health!
Thank you for sharing your personal experience with this beautiful timepiece. I am picking up my FDX this afternoon, and your video has greatly validated my choice to join you and the many other fortunate enthusiasts who sport a Pelagos FDX.
It's been an obsession since day one Graham. Hard to put into words... but wow... there are pieces out there that are made for us. And thank you! It's a watch I'd highly recommend (as you can probably tell) 😆
Spectacular video - accurately sums up my feelings for this watch, and how it fits into my collection. It’s inspired me to downsize and consolidate my collection, and has helped make watch-wearing more meaningful. I’ve had several of the same sentiments you expressed. Well done.
As someone who can drool over a CWC or Vietnam era Hamilton while ignoring a Daytona, this video sums up my thoughts on the FXD very nicely. It’s just disappointing they’re being released in such short supply, but I guess that’s the way the watch industry works at the mo.
You and me both Timothy. We're much more driven to appreciate the watches that were actual tools with hundreds of testimonials instead of what is essentially a fashion watch in comparison 😆It is sad that these have been brought out in smaller batches. BUT something that came to mind is that it allows them to keep the QC top notch too. No movement stoppages / crown issues and all the other things that plague a lot of BB's (which is a plus) ;)
Such a heartwarming review as I share the same passion for The FXD , it's a phenomenal timepiece, its the final Tudor watch I'm after for the collection. I can truly understand how one can bond to this watch as I did the second I tried on the exhibition piece at my AD , the piece stirred me on an emotional level as well. It's a keeper! Where it in good health IDGuy !
Ah Reuven, I'll be holding thumbs that you receive the call soon. It's truly a gem... never asking for attention, just built for a purpose (and manages to be great in the interim) 😉 Thank you brother 🥃
@@ID-Guy I still never got the call from my AD too but finally found an FXD locally this week , boy am I so pleased I jumped on it. Its beyond a dream wearing it now as I type this comment, A grail Tudor piece that will never leave my collection!
I don't need another watch. I don't need another watch. Okay, I need a Pelagos FXD now. I've probably watched every video and read every review on this watch and other versions of it (Red Bull, Black Dial, etc.). I think this is my next watch (or some version of it). This is the best video on this watch, hands down.
This is one of the best videos I’ve seen on the FXD. I have been looking for one since day one and like you I’ve had my name down with 3 ADs in the UK and not even had a sniff. This week I was away on holiday and went to look in a jewellers window while my wife was in another shop and noticed one in their window. Well, that watch is now mine and I can’t be happier. I also have a blue Pelagos and happy with that but this one is incredible. I can’t argue with anything you’ve said. You have a new sub 👍
I put my name down when it was announced........20 months later still waiting so i purchased one from another youtubers shop at a GREAT price !!!!I just received it a couple of days ago..... its stunning........im absolutely in love with it !!!!!!
Congratulations @IDGuy. Your FXD is my Planet Ocean 2500. Glad to hear that you might downsize the collection...less is more is the way to go. Cheers from the Mountain West in Montana. 👍⌚🌲⛰️🥃🍷🦌🦬🐻
I missed out on a Pelagos which was om display in Watches of Switzerland in Heathrow T3. That was a few years ago when Duty Free was still available. Good video. Thanks for upload.
You're a Legend T and thank you! It's amazing how a watch can just change your entire perspective on things... 5 months in and it's still a honeymoon 🥃
@@ID-Guy I am so glad to hear that. Genuinely thrilled for you! I'm personally in a bad place with watches right now. Very frustrated with the dealers, hobby and community overall. Maybe that new Mark XX will snap me out of my funk!
I waited for this watch's release with great anticipation, even had my name down with an AD beforehand. When it arrived I couldn't put it above the "Lefty" Pelagos which I also had my eye on so I got that. All the Pelagos models are underrated. The BB58 in all its iterations is a great watch but the "size" thing after the chunky Black Bay (still a great watch for me) hyped it up enormously. We're all different. I'm sure you picked the right one for you.
The Pelagos has always been that "yeah, this is the one watch that sums up the modern brand perfectly" to me. Seeing this collab and all the care that was put into it... just nailed it. And I feel the same about the BB's. They're great talking points, well sized and extremely popular, but the Pelagos family is Sub-Zero. Hope you're loving your LHD (It's a cracker!) 🥃
It's almost entirely because I happened to stumble upon your predictions and renderings video a week before it was released that I was lucky enough to get an M.N. 21, and some luck that my AD contact remembered me texting her before it was officially out "if this is real, I need it". I won't deny that the flip value tempted me at one point, but I cannot express how glad I am that I kept it. It's nearly perfect as an everyday wear, but still works as that "special" piece, or travel watch because it can fly so far under the radar, while still giving me that flex factor that may or may not be compensating for something. So, thanks to you, and your videos, coming to me at the right time for having landed me a 21, and glad you got one.
Congrats. I once owned the Pelagos LHD. It was the watch I could buy at retail & bought it on a whim. After owning & wearing it for a while I realised how well designed & functional it was. The perfect diver. A genuine tool watch. Loved the bracelet, the luminous bezel, snowflake hands with square markers & the titanium construction. Everything better than the Submariner. But then I always wanted a 40mm pre-ceramic Sea-Dweller, and so I sold it to buy the Rolex. Now after watching your video I want to get back into Tudor. The LHD had a unique number on the caseback. I miss my Pelagos. It had an early issue number in the 1000's. At least the warranty card has my name on it. Hopefully I'll find that watch in future. I'll buy it back.
Congrats IDGuy! I can't say I'm surprised you picked this one. Its a great watch and I'm sure it will serve you well! Your FXD is like my Damasko DS-30, its just always up to be worn and crushes it every time.
Absolutely brilliant video. I was fortunate to get an MN 21 model and I have loved owning it ever since. The FXD is a special piece and it is brilliant to see someone else enjoying it with such enthusiasm
Well, looks like we really are watch brothers. I’ve owned this watch for months and it is my favorite watch. It is the best functional diver I have ever owned. This is the watch I’ve been waiting for for so long.
Rich!! Ah, this is fantastic! Just goes to show that Tudor can bring out a belter if they want to 😉 I hope your Sea-Dweller still gets some love from time to time BUT this machine has that "can do" attitude every time it's on. Hope you're well, y'legend 🥃
Congrats - lovely watch and it’s always so good to hear about a watch enthusiast connecting with a watch so much, they don’t really look at others. A testament to your connection - wear it in good health!
Appreciate it as always Jizzy and thank you! I try my utmost not to watch other watch related channels just to bring across that approach (trying not to be a reviewer) 😉 Thank you brother!
Great video! Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experience! I’m so happy you enjoy the watch! Wanted to confirm your theory. Bought the black pelagos 6 years ago to commemorate a work promotion. It was my first “proper” watch. Added a speedmaster, tudor gmt and a skydweller as well as few beater watches since… the Pelagos still gets 95% wrist time. I want to wear the others, but i just naturally gravitate towards the Pele. It traveled with me all over the world and never once failed me technically, practicaly, visually nor in any other way.
Love the Pelagos testimonial Matty 😉 Ah, it's so good knowing that there are watches like these that just keep trucking on (with very little fanfare relatively speaking) Thank you so much for the comment and for taking the time to watch the clip! 🥃
No sir, it was an honor being taught by you. These videos are almost a form of couples therapy with the hobby, that teaches me to just calm down and enjoy, although sometimes it just wants me to have a ludicrous amount of money to experiment all of those pieces jajaja. But jokes aside thank you, by the middle of the video I had to reach out and grab my DSPH200M and look at it, because when you talked about your FXD, it just reminded me of it on a sentimental level. Again thank you for this amazing channel, and for teaching us about watches in an amazing way. Hope the lives will come back soon. Cheers
I have a 6.3in wrist and it fits me fine. It's big, yes, but not too big. It's light, it curves to the wrist. That blue cannot be captured in photos. It is amazing
What a treat, your channel is really outstanding. I hadn’t consider this watch until now. The proportions seemed chunky for 17cm wrist, but you make compelling arguments.
I feel exactly the same about this watch, put my name down last December, eventually picked it up in June. Love the way it sits on the wrist and the Lume is insane 👍
Brilliant video my friend. I can fully understand your love, your passion for this watch. So much so I will be selling a portion of my collection to get one. I, like you have a passion for tool watches, especially dive watches. I can think of no finer addition to my collection than the FXD. Thank you 😊
Ian thank you! Honestly, it's one of those go-to pieces with so much background that most don't even care about (making it even cooler) It's also made me appreciate that "less is more" approach too. Ah! Good look grabbing one and let me know how it goes!
Congratulations on your first Tudor, ID! Having also just bought my first Tudor, I can understand your pleasure in the accuracy, value, fit and finish that this company offers. However, have to agree with Allen Farmelo of Hodinkee (excellent hands-on article, BTW) that the functionality of the bezel would be improved by marking all of the “fives”. KR, Si.
I can fully relate… my first luxury watch was an omega seamaster that I bought specifically for scuba diving a long time ago. I never had a thing for Tudor, the FXD originally passed me by during its release, it wasn’t until a few months ago I even realised it existed and I’ve been obsessed with it ever since… I got to try one on and immediately fel in love with it. I’m still waiting for the call from my AD but for me it’s worth the wait
Thank you Lewis. I reckon these are still very underrated today (with the Black Bay mania going on) but man, the Pelagos always has been their under-the-radar series... this new model definitely doesn't disappoint 😉
I had an email sent to me about 8 months after I showed interest. It was even in an AD from a different country - I am thinking about getting it. My thrill has reduced over that period and other pieces came to my mind but now watching your video and enthusiasm about that watch I think that my initial feeling was worth it and I shall consider it again! Thank you, great video!
Congratulations for this review. I agree 100% with all your comments. The FXD is definitely made for me as well. It is my fourth pelagos and also my favorite !
I have one of these on order from my local A.D and I can't wait to collect it. Keep up with the awesome videos, you do an excellent job analyzing these watches and their designs.
On the topic of straps, the ones I have found that work really well with the FXD are: - Bonetto Cinturini rubber NATO. The keepers are spring loaded, which allows to easily convert it into a one layer strap, avoiding too much thickness between the watch nad the wrist. Very good quality, too - The Watch Steward G style, which is specifically designed for fixed lugs watches. It's an elastic band similar to that used on Erika's Originals, but has a clever design that avoid passing the strap between the watch and the wrist, resulting in zero extra height. Very comfortable, but less secure than the Bonetto for aquatic / sporting activities
Ah, the passion is infectious and the hobby has to be enjoyed. I think it's because this piece really does feel like a big milestone, y'know? Hard to describe... my brain is still trying to work it out 😆 Thank you brother!
Absolutely love this watch. Just received my Pelagos FXD and what a watch. Lightwieght, highly legible and an absolute stunning piece. Agree with all your comments. This is one of the most refined tool watches ever made. You have to look at it in the flesh to truly appreciate the FXD.
This watch really speaks to me too. I'm not really into Tudor or Pelagos..... but this watch, the dial, the color, the pure, simple functionality of it all. It will be a splinter in my mind until the day I buy it.
Thanks! Nice review! Glad you enjoy the bond created with your Pelagos. I have and LHD, which in a way, it's also an special and different Pelagos and I do love every bit of it. It may be the piece I use mor often (also given I use it right hand whilst using another one in my left wrist). Definately considering getting one FXD.
Congratulations. It is such a phenomenal piece. Before I got mine I had a long-term goal of a sub or sea dweller. I spent about a week with a sea dweller and realized that it was way too shiny/flashy. I think the FXD is just about as perfect as it gets for me and my own taste
Isn't it funny, I had the same feelings. Shiny ceramic, glossy dials... it goes against what makes a "professional" tool in the category (at least for its application in the water) but man... those SD43's pull at my heartstrings... Hope you have one helluva time with your FXD Jason, y'legend 🥃
@@ID-Guy the SD I spent some time with was the triple 6 with drilled lugs and what not... Even the older one seemed a bit shiny for my own taste.... I love that everything on the FXD feels very purposeful, nothing unnecessary. Congratulations again on the awesome piece!
What a great video. Thanks for sharing your story. I want to see and try this Pelagos FXD very badly but I don't think that my AD even got one. Anyway congrats on finding your watch :)
Great review! Beautiful watch. I'm so curious; where'd you get the deployant to go with the NATO at 15:56? I would love to get one for myself. Just to eliminate the risk of the watch falling off as I try to strap it on in the morning. Cheers!
Since IDGuy is silent, I did some digging, and the closest I could find was the RM-Style Artem deployant, however it doesn't have the screw cap thingy through the nato strap eyelet, so it's not the same, and it probably won't hold a nato without the screw cap, most deployants are meant to hold much thicker and sturdier leather straps.
Nice one! So glad you've found a watch that meets your needs. A practical, no fuss addition to the collection. And that Seamaster 300 Trilogy looks amazing on the NATO!
Great video as usual. I really enjoyed the backstory you provided. I also shared your obsession for this piece. Based in Australia, I also scoured every AD without success. In the end I found a new piece on Chrono24, I paid above retail but have no regrets whatsoever. This has easily been my most satisfying watch purchase 🙌😊
Know the feeling Luke, a little bit extra but it was so worth it in the end. No faff and no more begging 😆 I hope you're wearing the snot out of it brother!
The perfect complement for your Seamaster 57, both models are good representations of their brands iconic design cues. Love the ties with Tudor and the marine national.
Thanks for spotting this Joao! I wanted to try and bring across that whole "old world v new world" look seeing them side by side. Ah, Something about these classic designs... Thanks a million sir! 🥃
@@ID-Guy I tried making videos on here, but never really felt like I got it right. The videos you make look, and feel like you put a lot of pride into your channel. If you ever find yourself in Denver Colorado, the first rounds on me!
Thanks a million Emmanuel (I hope you appreciate that I pronounce "Pelagos" okay - not Pelaaaaagoes 😉) Enjoy your gorgeous BBPro!! Amazing what the brand has been giving us over the last two years to say the least! 🔥
@@ID-Guy indeed. Tudor is doing things right the last 5 years or so. If only all ADs would be able to offer their Tudors in a timely manner (2-4 months), then we would have a really good and consistent customer experience. I visited 4 ADs for the pro 1-2 days after the announcement. One AD called me a month ago. Happy to have the "Tudor exprorer" but not that happy with this waiting list games. As for the pronunciation of yours: spot on:) Nice name for your watch: Pelagos fits to that model family. Enjoy!☘👍
Congratulations IDGuy. I've had the 'older' in house movement Pelagos LHD for a few years and absolutely love it. To try and describe it on my wrist I would have to say that it's like those old comfy shoes (or any foot ware for that matter) and that if I'm unsure what my day will throw at me it's a prime contender for wrist time. I think Todor uses the Pelagos name as a tool name for a specific purpose, the FXD fits that perfectly given the requirements from the MN with the count down bezel and fixed lugs. My version was designed as a bespoke diver so had a few different requirements. I have seen the FXD in the flesh and had a chance to purchase it but for me it didn't fit comfortable on my wrist with either of the supplied straps, I came so close to purchasing but decided that this piece would be better appreciated by someone who really wanted it to wear and feel comfortable with it on the wrist. I may be an idiot for not purchasing and flipping for profit but that is not me. Hopefully that watch is now being worn by someone who really enjoys it.
Thanks a million for this Anthony. The Pelagos name still to this day is so underrated (and great for that reason) Imagine if the watch space went as mad for them as they go for the black bays?? Have a great weekend sir! 🥃
A great review that is like a confessional at the church of horology. Love the points about design and full circle history with the Marine Nationale. One can image the stories and history these timepieces will make.
It's a good word 😆 Definitely one that sums up the entire experience. And thank you Junior. One of those experiences that I'm so glad I could share on the channel 🥃
I am so lucky to get my FXD from AD for my 30th birthday and new career change. you are so right about every pelagos owner has a special bonding with this watch. I am totally biased to the FXD over the other watches lol
Your self-discipline in waiting 5 months to show off this beauty is pretty damn impressive, but all the better for us, so we get not only the full story of how you got it, but how you really feel about it after a significant period of ownership. Glad you decided to just go ahead and buy one after being constantly disappointed with the usual AD nonsense. I had to chuckle when you said this might disappoint some of us who might have guessed you got a different model...i think they maybe they forget that this is for YOU and not for anyone else. Given the way you presented it today I think anyone, even someone new to the channel can see why "it's the watch for you" Congrats on this handsome watch and wear it in good health ...I'm really happy to know that the Seamaster still holds a special place for you. Fantastic episode !
Just got the call this morning from a local AD for a MN 22. But I already have a MN 21 that I was lucky enough to score back in December from another AD. I’ve been wearing it non-stop for 7 months now. And yet, I was almost tempted to buy a second one. The FXD is that good. I honestly enjoy wearing this far more than my Rolex sub. It really is hard to convey just how cool and amazing this watch is… on so many levels. Thanks for the video. You really summed it up.
Wow, I really appreciate your thoroughness and honesty for acquiring this piece (major congrats, by the way 👍). Just as yourself, there's something about mil-spec watches that gets me buzzin' with excitement; form, function, purpose...I like tools that do what they're designed to do. James Bond would be proud 😉. Cheers 🍺
Ah, it's so good Fresh and thank you! Sometimes there's a watch out there that manages to do the trick 😉 Really hope you're keeping well brother and have a phenomenal weekend!
So what I hear you saying is, it's a keeper! 😁 It's a beautiful watch. I remember the feeling when I purchased my Black Bay in 2019. When you know you've landed that special piece and you've suddenly lost interest in anything else. Congratulations. 🙏
Great video! I am fortunate enough to own the MN21 version which was the only one my AD received last year. It’s been on the wrist a lot (found myself wearing it more than my 126710BLRO which I didn’t expect) and I am just looking at the watch all the time. Been living on the rubber strap this summer. Just a home run of a watch from Tudor. I plan on giving it to my son (born 2021) when he is old enough to appreciate watches.
Great video and a piece I'm probably going to try and pick up. Like you, the Pelagos LHD was calling me for years. Finally pulled the trigger on a gently used LHD double digit numbered piece. It IS my go to watch. Was looking to pick up a SD43, but not anymore.
Same. LHD won the vote the AD Had called me for the FXD.. but the LHD 🏅 In the long run the LHD, maybe more collectible with the roulette dates and numbered case. "The LHD is powered by a special version of the caliber MT5612. It is the reference 5612-LHD. Why is that? We have this caliber pass the COSC tests upside down, so as to reflect the positions in which this caliber will most often be in. This requires special regulation."
I bought a BB 58, then this came out. Purpose built and fantastic..tudor is simply the best value out there imho..of course you love it..
If the Commando Hubert uses it, it's by far the best watch.
I was a shallow water sailor (USCG) in the late 70s-early 80s. I remember the first thing I bought when I got on my duty station was a nice watch, a Bulova Accutron. It got lost over the years, though and I should have bought something a little more durable.
Shoes don't get issued Tudor dive watches. What Team were you at?

Thank you so much for this video. For months now, I'm thinking about getting this beauty. After watching your video, I called my AD immediately. I'm gonna pick it up on January 5th. Again: THANK YOU 🙏🏻
One year on the waitlist in Portland,OR and I just picked up my new FXD. Definitely worth the wait and it looks and feels great on the wrist. The matte blue bezel and titanium are so understated. Completely chill time piece that checks all the boxes and will stand the test of time.
Packouz Jewelers?
Congratulations on the Tudor. I think you made a fantastic choice. And thanks for waiting for 5 months to publish this, so we get a true review.

Thank you as always Reed! This message really made me smile 😉
Awesome video and watch 💙 I have got goosebumps when you did the bezel action 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Thanks a million! Ah, it's hard to catch the bezel action properly but it has this buttery-ness to it too... Gotta love our Tudors 😉
A brilliant review of a fantastic watch. Nice keeper tip too. Thanks ID !
And I hope you're getting so much enjoyment out of yours too brother. Thank you as always!! 🥃
Thank you for sharing your personal experience with this beautiful timepiece. I am picking up my FDX this afternoon, and your video has greatly validated my choice to join you and the many other fortunate enthusiasts who sport a Pelagos FDX.
Enjoy, as I know you are and will. A wonderful piece. On my shortlist. I can see why you love it so much.
Well done.
Ah, means a lot Ryan and thank you! It's great to know that I'm the only one who went crazy with this machine 😉 Have a great weekend brother!
For me it about getting a watch I like and will probably be my 1 watch and it's the tudor black bay 58.
This is an awesome watch, greatly summarized by your vid. Well done!
Your commentary is pure poetry. Second to none, amongst your YT colleagues. Thank You.
This personal take is just so great and makes this even more exciting!
It's no biased in the slightest 😆 Thank you Bongo!
I'm happy every time I see a post of any sort that someone finds an FXD. I've wanted one so bad! Enjoy it in good health.
This is the best video on this watch, hands down.
was in the shop today and saw it in the flesh next to the black Pelagos!!! doing online recherches now🤤
This is one of the best videos I’ve seen on the FXD.
Good video. Thanks for upload.
congratulations, it's a stunning watch. It will become a life long friend that will never let you down.
Thank you Rich. Really is amazing how a watch can manage to make such an impact (when it feels right) 😉
Congrats again brother! So happy for you 🙌🏻 great vid as always.
It was an obvious choice going with the FXD, right? 😆 (I'm too predictable) But thanks a million Nef!! Have a great start to your weekend!
Amazing review and lovely to hear how passionate you are about it. Enjoy!
I’m so happy for you. The watch is fortunate to be worn by someone like you. Excellent video.👍
Damn, this one's deep Eddy. Thank you sir, sincerely 🥃
Cheers
Great video. Really enjoyed your journey. I'm also obsessed with the FXD.
Congratulations on your purchase...amazing piece! Love the channel 👍
I went to a "School" with a Kieran Kenealy and he was a year below me... If you are him you'll understand the quotations 😉 Thanks a million brother!!
@@ID-Guy oh really!! Ye didn't go to school in Dublin by any chance did you? 😉

@@ID-Guy oh there are a lot of us alright...shady folk though..I'd stay well clear 😉
I have a 6.3in wrist and it fits me fine. It's big, yes, but not too big. It's light, it curves to the wrist. That blue cannot be captured in photos. It is amazing
The Commando Hubert's divers are the best of the Marine Nationale.
Believe me they are very strong and this Pelagos FXD is an incredible tool watch !
They are another level. No names, no faces, just dedicated professionals 😉⚓
A wonderful story told with sincerity and care. Thanks!
Great video love your comments at the end the whole video is fantastic great watch great channel
What a treat, your channel is really outstanding. I hadn’t consider this watch until now. The proportions seemed chunky for 17cm wrist, but you make compelling arguments.
Congratulations. Stunning purchase. Brilliant addition.
I have liked almost everything about this watch since it’s release. Glad to see you go through it and share your enjoyment of it.
I feel exactly the same about this watch, put my name down last December, eventually picked it up in June. Love the way it sits on the wrist and the Lume is insane 👍
It's amazing how a watch like this can have such an impact! Ah, we're a part of the secret club Anthony 😉
Great 5 month review of your FXD journey. Seems like it has truly tugged at your heart strings. I’ll let you know how my ticker fairs 🤣👍
Amazing what a watch can do to your psyche! Can't wait to know your thoughts Russell. I bet the PLM will be kicked out of the collection 😆🥃
This the best vid on the FXD. Thank you for making it .
@@ID-Guy
Thank you my friend. I'll let you know how the hunt goes. Looking forward to seeing your next review.
Take care and stay safe.
KR, Si.
Awesome Review. Stunning time piece. Never get rid of this one. Wear it in good health. Cheers from The Netherlands!
Thanks a million Albert! And roger that! This piece ain't going anywhere 😉
Very nice video, i have the black pelagos with the in house movement and it get's by far the most wristtime. It's really something special!
Spot on with all the details and opinions , in the future Tudor will get it's true praise for these watches .
I just got an FXD (black) yesterday. It’s so good! Thanks for making me pay attention to this watch.
I have one of these on order from my local A.D and I can't wait to collect it. Keep up with the awesome videos, you do an excellent job analyzing these watches and their designs.
On the topic of straps, the ones I have found that work really well with the FXD are:
- Bonetto Cinturini rubber NATO. The keepers are spring loaded, which allows to easily convert it into a one layer strap, avoiding too much thickness between the watch nad the wrist. Very good quality, too
- The Watch Steward G style, which is specifically designed for fixed lugs watches. It's an elastic band similar to that used on Erika's Originals, but has a clever design that avoid passing the strap between the watch and the wrist, resulting in zero extra height. Very comfortable, but less secure than the Bonetto for aquatic / sporting activities
Absolutely love your passion for this watch. It shines through!
Ah, the passion is infectious and the hobby has to be enjoyed. I think it's because this piece really does feel like a big milestone, y'know? Hard to describe... my brain is still trying to work it out 😆 Thank you brother!
This watch is truly special. Congratulations on your purchase.
Thank you Robert 🥃
Absolutely love this watch. Just received my Pelagos FXD and what a watch. Lightwieght, highly legible and an absolute stunning piece. Agree with all your comments. This is one of the most refined tool watches ever made. You have to look at it in the flesh to truly appreciate the FXD.
This watch really speaks to me too. I'm not really into Tudor or Pelagos..... but this watch, the dial, the color, the pure, simple functionality of it all. It will be a splinter in my mind until the day I buy it.
Congratulations! Glad you are enjoying the piece!
Congratulations again on the awesome piece!
cheers bud and congrats! wear in good health and Godspeed!
What a great video. Thanks for sharing your story. I want to see and try this Pelagos FXD very badly but I don't think that my AD even got one. Anyway congrats on finding your watch :)
I love this watch , my fav of the whole Tudor catalog
The Pelagos collection is so sublime. Ah, can't reccomend them enough and thank you Gluon! 🥃
Great video. One of the best reviews I have come across for the FXD.
So glad to see this video! and you having a 2nd grail 😎
Just when you ask yourself "could another watch compete with the Seamaster?" So this thing arrives... Ah, thank you brother 🥃
@@ID-Guy just curious had you tried or considered the LHD before considering you wear your watches on the right hand?
Great review! Beautiful watch. I'm so curious; where'd you get the deployant to go with the NATO at 15:56? I would love to get one for myself. Just to eliminate the risk of the watch falling off as I try to strap it on in the morning. Cheers!
I was wondering the same thing, it looks great!
@@markypants plus one
Since IDGuy is silent, I did some digging, and the closest I could find was the RM-Style Artem deployant, however it doesn't have the screw cap thingy through the nato strap eyelet, so it's not the same, and it probably won't hold a nato without the screw cap, most deployants are meant to hold much thicker and sturdier leather straps.
hi did any of you finally get an answer or find out ? i have exactly the same observation and question. such a cool clasp. many thanks in advance Will
Blancpain Fifty Fathoms OEM.
@@ID-Guy absolutely 👍😉
Fantastic review! I always love your style of reviewing watches - a perfect mixture of history & critique.
Always look forward to your videos.
Means a lot Chris. Sometimes it feels like you're talking into a void but man, these comments have weight. Thank you brother 🥃
@@ID-Guy I tried making videos on here, but never really felt like I got it right. The videos you make look, and feel like you put a lot of pride into your channel. If you ever find yourself in Denver Colorado, the first rounds on me!
This is by far my favourite tudor!! congrats bro, I love what youve done with the nato with a clasp. Ive never seen that before.
my favorite voice in the watch scene
It's the accent Pietro 😆 Thank you brother... I'm going to have to get into voiceover work!
I had no idea the FXD was so unique. I still want the LHD, but the FXD is very cool indeed.
Welcome to the Tudor club! I’m wearing my BB GMT with jubilee bracelet 👍🏻
Great video. Not a Pelagos (πέλαγος ;)) owner here (BB Pro instead) but still. Just a fan of tudor. Enjoy your dream watch with health!
As for the pronunciation of yours: spot on:)
Nice name for your watch: Pelagos fits to that model family.
Great video for a awesome watch (still #1 on my first luxury tool watch list
). Stunning work and thanks for sharing 👏🏻🤘🏻
Purification or purgation that brings about spiritual renewal or release from tension " Catharsis " I had to look it up . Congratulations my friend !
Totally and completely biased 😆 Love it! And a huge congratulations Ronald!!

Same. LHD won the vote the AD Had called me for the FXD.. but the LHD 🏅
In the long run the LHD, maybe more collectible with the roulette dates and numbered case.
"The LHD is powered by a special version of the caliber MT5612. It is the reference 5612-LHD. Why is that? We have this caliber pass the COSC tests upside down, so as to reflect the positions in which this caliber will most often be in. This requires special regulation."
