Nice job. I sure appreciate your up-close shots and showing each connector removal. That back one was snugged into a collar pretty good. For others, you really need a pry tool...easier than doing it by pulling.
Thanks so much! For showing patience! EZ to get frustrated with this especially with bad hands!a 70 yr old woman I’m trying this first! I think I’m eliminating a code :) thanks again
Hey, I’m just curious my 1.6 is not there the position you showed. I thought I fixed it with a little wiggle on a loose wire harness, but my light came on again and I’d like to fix this part. I can’t afford to take it to the dealer thanks for any help. Have a great day.
Hose needle style works great, different sizes and some are angled, use pliers, get grip twist, it breaks the heat stuck rubber and comes off real easy, learned to use them when vacuum lines on the older cars with carbs, also f=works great on heater hoses.
Hey thanks for the video. Can you help me figure out where I can find the boost intake filter? Not the engine filter or the cabin filter. Specifically the round long intake filter.....
Just so you know, you don't need to use the pry bar to remove the hoses. The hoses stick to the bath fittings. Simply take the pliers, grip the hoses on the barbs and twist them (so this before unclipping the sensor). Once they spin free, you can pull them right off without any issues.
Great info to have ! I just pulled a PO236 error code =Turbo boost sensor A circuit. Am I right to assume this is the solenoid ? and if so, is it true I will need to replace both top and bottom ones? thanks again.
@@rudymcconnohie7511 On these engines there is a Ford bulletin about this turbo sensor. It will need to be replaced as they fail often after a certain amount of time. Unfortunately the sensor usually seizes on the intercooler on which it is attached, so you may need to replace the intercooler along with the sensor as I had to. My cost was over 800 dollars Canadian for a 50 dollar small sensor replacement. And they had to remove the entire front bumper/clip to access it.
Getting as fluttering noise from my intake on my 2013 Fusion 2.0 eco boost. Not sure this is normal but when you lightly accelerate and let off the gas you hear a fluttering sound from the intake. Is this normal with these cars? its not loud at all but just converned. Thank you in advance. (No check engine codes)
I haven't messed with it yet but I've heard it's much harder to change out. It was having surging RPM issues and thought this was the solve, ended up being bad transmission fluid...
@vapinbachelor289 It would feel like slippage or a small vibration and loss of power around 45 - 55. Changed fluid, and it went away! Fluid should be changed every 50k but it was around 110k and never done.
Have a 2014 escape 2.0 throwing code P0299 on occasion. Dealer and local shop has tried to figure out cause to no avail. Figured ill try this since it often comes up as common cause of over/under boost codes. At least its a cheap part and easy to replace. Figured they’d bury it so it would take half a day to replace. Thanks for the vid.
I’m getting a p0234 code. I replaced this selonoid and was fine most of the summer. Once the temp got colder the code comes back again. Pretty much right when I start driving. Any ideas?
A friend told me that this is pretty much the same location/process on a 2013 Fusion SE. Do you know if that's true? Or does this person not know what they're talking about?
Is that also called a waste gate ? I had the turbo replaced..and still getting a code...so Ford said it's the waste gate. But charging me an arm and a leg.
The wastegate is in the hot side of the turbo, the plunger in the wastegate actuator controls when it opens and the wastegate can be jammed by carbon holding it open or closed causing boost issues
I am. Currently running through my problem the top one boost pressure solenoid was fine there is a second one at the turbo I will checking if the waste gate sucks in and if the bottom sensor is faulty
It actually didn't end up solving the problem but I was chasing a surging during acceleration. After some research I found out that these often fail and that is a common symptom. It ended up being bad transmission fluid though
I am also chasing down a surging. In the same vehicule, did changing the fluid fix your problem? and what exactly did you do a single spill and fill? Thanks.
@@TheJawtech It could take up to 4 dump & fills cause on how dirty your fluid might be, It’s impossible to get all the fluid to come out at once because there is some trapped in the torch converter every time u dump it
@@deuceliter Mine is surging as well, under moderately hard accel, especially feel it in sport mode. I just bought this thing from the dealer I work at, and luckily its a CPO vehicle, so currently have transmission parts on order, but a part of the issue is the torque converter, which is on backorder. Ford is footing the entire bill. Has 117k on it, and the same repair was done at 61k. Mine has the 2-3 shift bump that is a very common problem with these 6F transmissions. Hopefully that will cure the surging as well. Great little vehicle, but the transmissions suck. Being a Ford parts guy, we probably do a couple of these a month.

Hello, nice video. Is the wastegate solenoid near the turbo, the same as this? I mean can I buy the same part twice for both applications?

Will this help an underboost code

What about the second one. Down by the waste gate. Real tight space and annoying to reach?

Where is the 2nd solenoid?
Is there a second solenoid on the 2.0
