This bus looks very much like the "AEC" double decker busses we used to ride in the late 40s all the way until late 70s in Baghdad Iraq. We also had the one deck. They were marvelous and incredibly well engineered and made. Boy did we love them busses.😍😍

That’s good news about your friend and his bus It is a good thing that the bus has a newer Cummins engine and that is especially good for reliability The arches may have come up better if you had put some of that lovely red primer on first as that would have filled the holes better They look good and only. cummins refreshed the british trucking industry my first was the c290 the c250 was in the routemasters i believe,flash wheel arches always makes busses and trucks look dapper,great stuff,looking forward to the outside all done and shiny.

Another great Vid Pete. Though to have some preverbally thrown at me, most of the purest want to keep the Routemasters as buses and not as Bars, Tea shops and stand on the road cafes (I’ve even know one as a mobile fish & chip shop). These buses are black holes (as you know) and unless you have a couple of million pounds, to keep them on the road cost money and to put them showroom condition. I commend you and all the others that buy Routemasters to use them as a business and to keep them going (Until the B frame fails). Keep it up bud, your doing all us ‘wanna be’s’ Routemasters owners proud

The little cummins engine must of been good for london transport to use them.The bus your friend bought is either scania or layland powered with was also part of the modification updates back in the nineties along with the cummins.
Great video pete that rml you were looking at this used to belong to a group of chaps of radio 2 they had quite a few rml for weddings and were kept immaculate keep up the good work

Australian cars of a similar vintage often only had engine size badges on the V8s, such as the Valiant Chargers, Ford Falcons and Holden Monaros. There were a few exceptions but not many.
Love the jaguar s type.i have one the same year,mines metallic light blue.its just going threw a very thorough refresh at the moment.its bin a family member since 1987.another good and interesting video as usual.👍

when you check the oil you should really lower it off the blocks when checking the oil, it’s the same with HGVs you need to make sure that they are level to get a more accurate reading
Hubodometer specialist here. When are you going to colour match the three nuts? 😉 Can totally understand leaving the Cummins lump there, now that it's fitted anyway. Plenty of parts backup. Love the AEC but reality says more worries keeping it going in regular use these days. At least the melodic gearbox remains. Can't wait to watch collection day.
I do hope you rechecked the oil level once the bus was level again. I love when an engine's oil filter is vertical or near vertical, far less messy to remove and can be prefilled so no lag with the oil preasure on start up. Are you going to paint the wheels and hubs in the original dark red, they look weird in black and get some front wheel nut covers?

My mate owns RM1000 and he let us have it for our wedding day...its now a corgi model just released which the wife treated me to...maybe you would consider Corgi making RML2355 in 1/72nd scale? I would def buy one....keep up the good work man.
RM1000 was always my favourite RM..because of it's unique registration number 100BXL, I remember ticking it off in my ABC London Buses book having seen it the first time outside C&A in Wembley High Street when it was allocated to Stonebridge Garage (SE). I remember it as always being well looked after at the various garages it was allocated to. What a lovely gesture to have it for your wedding day.

Maybe there is some kind of hand-pump / hose arrangement for topping up the oil from the oil container to the filler cap.
There are plenty of solutions but it’s good fitness….. 😂😜👍
