We LOVE refried beans but last year in order to limit my jar and lid use, I cooked my pinto beans then dehydrated them. Fast easy, just rehydrate, mash and season! I needed to conserve my jars for tomatoes and applesauce etc. Let me just say I love your channel! Keep on canning! 👍🙏♥️🇺🇸🤓

Just wanted to let you know that I made these today and one jar did not seal, so we had it for dinner on our tostadas. Best refried beans ever! Will not purchase another can from the store. My husband and I enjoy spice, so I added two slices of jalapeno to each jar. Delicious! Thanks for sharing Jeni.
I canned 16 pints of the refried bean mix last week and just opened my first jar today. It made the best refried beans! I will definitely be adding this canning recipe to my files. Thanks, Jeni.
I do not have a printer but I wrote down the recipe cause it sounds so yummy and I got a lot of pinto beans to use so I am going to give this a try after I use up all my store-bought refried beans I got before the prices shot up well over a dollar a can 🙂thank you so much for sharing 🌻
Jeni, You are absolutely AMAZING! You always come up with such great recipes, not to mention doing pretty much everything from scratch! I love that!! I've been slowly changing my kitchen to everything scratch, and some of your recipes fit right in with what I'm trying to do! lol. . I just wish I'd done this YEARS ago, instead of waiting until my 60's! lol. . (yeah, old lady here. . ) Guess it's never too late to try! xox
Oh Jeni, I just finished cooking the refried beans from your spice mix. I had one jar of beans that didn't seal, so I wanted to try it out so bad, and it is super fantabulous! Omg, so delicious and 😋 tasty. I haven't made refried beans in 40 years. Your recipe is the best! Oh gosh, thank you for it.
So..... I thought I had a pretty good stash of jars been buying several cases at a time when found used for sale. Well... since finding this collaboration with everyone on the ugly chicken recipes I’m finding my jar supply has tremendously diminished!! Thanks for such great recipes to home can, so much appreciated😊

I love the video, and I’m sure to try this recipe, but I’m absolutely in love with your canning mat! Is it one you made? If so, do you know where I might find that fabric? I AM GOING TO TRY one more sewing project before I hang up my first love of sewing. I might just be able to do a canning mat if I go really slow.
I just came across your channel and canning refried beans. I love pressure cooking beans, adding my own seasonings and then mashing them for burritos. Yum. Sometimes if you get just a little to many beans in the jar they do that. They will be fine. 😊 Add a little water or stock when you heat and mash them.
Love making my own spice blends! What powdered chicken bullion do you use? These would be very versatile for more than just refried beans. I have a ton of canning projects lined up and you keep right on adding stuff to my to do list!

I don’t have a canner at the moment, but want to buy one. Have never used a pressure canner, and am hesitant to do so. Is it ok to use just a regular old canner or do they even still make them 🤣😂??? You know the dark blue ones with the little white spots all over ❤️
Great question! Unfortunately the answer is no. They are a low acid food and must be pressure canned. The blue with white speckles canner is just a water bath. 😊
Baked bean recipe...Let me tell you, Ball has the best recipe, just don't follow their directions or you end up with complete mush. I love the recipe itself and was thinking of revising it in a video. You can trade out white beans for pinto beans, do a soak but don't cook or bake them, make the sauce (doubled) and add it hot to the jars with beans. Just in case you want to make hem before I get the video out! 😊
@@monazuniga6499 yes, throw it away if it’s the whole jar! Don’t open it! If botulism is in there and you open a jar, the spores can go tight into your sinuses and you can get botulism that way! Better to be safe. 😊 Thank you so much!
From beginning to end with no cuts how long does it actually take. New canner want to plan my hours. Seriously you make it look so easy but if I never have done this it’s intimidating 🤷♀️🤷♀️💕💕💕
Bean prep 2 hours, ready the canner, jars, equipment and ingredients during this time. Filling jars, cleaning, capping 20 minutes. processing 75 minutes, add 30 minutes to canner coming up to heat and venting, give 2 hours for canner to come down from pressure...... 6 1/2 hours, but most of it is waiting on the canner. It is super easy! 😊
