I canned your spicy chili beans, and they were fantastic. I used them on hotdogs and mac/cheese, which was the best. Your family eats like we do. The more spice and flavor, the better. Thx for all your hard work perfecting recipes and making videos.
Thank you for sharing your mad canning style! I love your videos and your recipes. I currently live in Florida but grew up in Arizona, so I love the spices you cook with. I just started canning and I've got the bug, I'm hooked! I've learned a lot from you Jeni. I just want to say thank you very much.
So I know this is an older video, but it came up in my feed and I was so happy! I laughed with you when you were putting your seasoning together, I forget things all the time too. However, my thought was gosh, it would have still been great even if you did forget the dried onion and the cayenne! I really want to can up some more beans soon, and these would be a huge hit with my family. We absolutely love Southwestern style flavorings and I might personally go for the red pepper flakes as cayenne has some real KICK girl, lol! (I and my hubby love spicy, but can no longer have it so spicy, bad tummies. Boo!) Anyway, thank you for this awesome canning recipe!
I love your channel. I make home canned chili beans and they are one of my favorite things to have on my shelf. I used a jar tonight for supper. I just served them over rice with cheese and onion on top! Delicious! I think I will try your spices next time I make them . Thanks for sharing
Oh boy, this recipe will be my next. Only, I will do the no soak method. These types of beans are also delicious on top of rice. Ps. So excited to have been referred by Linda. Such great content. Look forward to all your channel brings!!
I love making chili beans using Heather at The Kneady Homesteader but I'm definitely gonna give yours a try. They look delicious. Love having my food in jars. Love your apron & kitchen.
Yeah I tried the no soak and they just gelled in the bottom of the jar. I am getting ready to can beans and am using your videos. I want some baked beans and some different types. Love to drain and fry some chickpeas and it’s ridiculous to pay the store price.
@Jeni_Gough no, did not cook them except to warm them up before filling jars, but I did soak them for around 16 hours. Wonder if that made a big difference? Read the package it said to Quick soak like you did: boil for two minutes then let set for an hour, so that is when you rinse that water off, put new water in and warm that up then fill the jars? So I should do this instead of soaking all night? Was also wondering if I put too many beans in the jar but think we only put half a jar of beans. Thank you for your reply. It is deeply appreciated.
I love how you eyeball things. It’s how I do it too! 😊
These look fantastic. And I gotta say as a motivated 70 yr old canner you're music makes me move!!
I searched & searched, Thank you for showing approved method using soaked hot beans. I’ll be trying this recipe.
I like the old jars above your sink.
Thanks

Question: I made this with Pinto and Kidney Beans but the beans were very soft and mushy LOL.. Help...... what did I do wrong? Advice please.
Did you cook the beans before canning? They shouldn't be mush if they were not pre cooked.

@@deewestcottI HEARD that if you soak overnight they’ll be mushy. So do it the boil 2” soak only one hour. Hth
I swear, it wasn't me that told about you eating bandaids! Bahahaha It's our secret till death! Hehehe.
Beans looked delish!
😂
I like your laugh. I’m new to your channel. 😊

Are these really hot or just a bit spicy. And did you use reg or Mexican oregano?
They are a little spicy, not hot! I used Mexican Oregano.🙂

Jeni - Thanks for the share - but now I am going to have to go fill my pantry with your delicious chili beans
