I'm a refried beans snob. I could never find the one recipe that checked all the boxes. Until I found this one. Perfect flavor. Thank you for getting it right. I can stop searching. You nailed it!
I haven't canned up refried bean mix, but I think I might mix up some of the seasoning to keep on hand to season my pintos once opened. I am seriously running out of space, room, rooms, rooms with space and space inside of rooms.... LOL And I still have 2 pigs coming and working on some beef. Plus, going out to score some serious sales on chicken tomorrow.
I just love the seasonings you put in your recipes! Been craving refried beans. Will be canning them this week. You have convinced me to do them in quarts.
I canned up pints after watching the first video - and they are so delicious, I decided I needed quarts too, LOL! They are the star of the show, not just a side! Thanks for sharing!
I made your recipe last week and finally tried some today. They are outstanding! I didn’t even “refry” them 😂. Absolutely delicious, thank you for sharing. ❤
I am planning on making these beans 🫘 . In your video you use one tablespoon of seasoning per qt. jar. In the written recipe you say to use two tsp. Of seasonings.. is that because we’re to only fill jar half full of beans ? LOVE Your videos and recipes. Thanks. So! Glad! You are doing better.
I always tell people to go by the written version, because I tweak the recipes a bit, it is because the seasonings were a bit strong so I decreased it by a teaspoon.
My store finally got Pur lids in. I used them first time. 10 jars canned no fails. Yeah. The last lids I bought online had 10 jars 5 failed. Going to stock my pantry with Pur. Thank you for the recipe. I usually season beans when I open the jar. But I am going to try this next time.
FYI just do NOT put PUR , lids with ball or kerr jars,Will not stay sealed.Pressure canned nope.I only use lids for my dry pasta vacumn sealing.Pur with PUR,jars.Works fine,But not with Ball or kerr.I bought @ Ace hardware.4.99 for 12.

Just searched refried bean canning and found this. Definitely going to be using this we have a ton of beans at home that my in-laws and my mom keep bringing over. How do you mash them with a tater masher, blender, hand mixer curious. I know my ninja blade will screw on some mason/ball jars. Thanks may tweek it a bit to figure out ranch style beans, a Texas Staple.

The garlic goes to mush so next time you might just clean the cloves and toss them in the jar. Be healthy, stay safe and many blessings, Morgan
Peel and slice in half longways before adding.

Hi Jenny! I just found your channel! Can you tell me what is the quick soak method for the beans? I’m liking your channel and subscribing!!!!
Wonderful! Welcome!! It is a 1 hour soak, quick and easy! The video is in the description box below for the how to. 😊
Thank you!
I had this same question. Can’t wait to try!
I can my beans almost the same as your only difference is I add 1/2 a jalapeños to each jar.
Nice! 😊
What kind of chili powder are you using?
New Mexico chili powder. You can get it hot or mild!
Is there a good sub for Mexican oregano?
No
[watches Jeni eat a pint of beans by herself, runs away with a clothespin on nose]
Soaked beans will not upset stomachs.
❤️❤️👍👍👍
WHATS THE SHELF LIFE?
Good as long as the seal holds just like everything else.
