Before we leave for Moab, my wife wants to know where do you go to the bathroom out there? I told her that is coming in a future Tesla update. She said OK.
You bring a bucket with a seat and a special bag to absorb the waste. Or you stop at one of the many campsites with outhouses. Or you go in the bushes.
Great job. Loved the footage! We hit Moab in Aug 2022. We just did some modest hikes but did hit the arches for a sunrise viewing. Looks like an 8 stall supercharger is going there in 2023 at a hotel. We stayed at a hotel there with 4 Level 2 chargers that worked well.
That. Was. Awesome! I grew up right next to Moab. When we were kids, we used to steal my friends dad‘s Yugo and take it four-wheel-driving. Those are some great times.
Brian, you officially have the most badass rig of any Tesla owner. Absolutely love this stuff. Now you need a cinema rig for b-roll. If you're ever in Michigan or New York, I'd be happy to help out!
One correction…low tire pressure means more contact area which equals more traction. Love these videos! I have dirt biked many many of those roads/trails and have a MY that needs a lift for some days to get home. Live in CO at 9k ft.
Chicken Corner is actually named after an old hiking trail nearby where you have a ton of exposure (aka a cliff) with a very tight passage to cross. The OHV trail takes its name from the hiking trail but more people now drive the trail than hike the original. I don’t think anyone ever gets that scared from the OHV trail. It’s relatively easy but your Model 3 lacks ground clearance. One of the drawbacks of off road tires is that they are extremely heavy and adding that to a heavy vehicle impairs performance when going up anything steep. The stock Etron can get to 8.2” at its highest setting which is really the lower limit for avoiding scraping on uneven trails, especially with the fragile Tesla connectors below. Even if you lifted the Y 1.5” you’d get about 8” clearance and that would be the minimum. The drive down Kane Creek is mostly doable with any vehicle before the unmaintained section starts. The road then gets pretty rough. Nice car to rally though I imagine you killed your range with those tires.
This is awesome because time to time I searched youtube to see if anyone has gone to the Colorado/Utah doing Tesla offloading. Thanks for the great experiment and keep it up the good work.
This is pretty much exactly how I want to build my Y when it's fully mine. Wife needs full range for her commute, but we plan on the ID Buzz or something for her later.
Lovely views agree with what you say about the camera and the wind my old camera different lenses and 3D microphone with noise cancelling broken now thank you for your videos 🙏
Love your channel haven’t been back for a while love to see what you’re doing and I just wanted to say that chickens corners sounds a bit like durango pass I remember the first time that I took my in-laws with my wife down to Durango from Silverton and I opened up all the windows in my Nissan titan and they nearly shit themselves but it’s not just because it was a intense pass it’s because they are from Russia and they’ve never seen anything like that it was funny to watch my mother-in-law cringe and slide all the way back into the middle of the seat in the back of the truck. Chickens pass seems to be very similar to this if you’re afraid of heights and you don’t like looking down being in a rolling vehicle seems terrifying especially since you’re not in control. So proud and happy for what you guys are doing I’m still on the road for getting a model Y it’s been two years now and my issue is I love the lifestyle of my truck but I really want to get a Tesla so why not have both right. We’ll see Take care Ryan and I appreciate all that you do
love seeing you brave Moab. I'm from Utah and Moab is truly stunning. I LOVE taking my jeep there. soon I'll be towing my jeep there using my Tesla. :)
It has been years since I have been to Moab, ... but it was way before we owned a model 3 and Y. Moab is as beautiful as ever. We canoed down the Green River to the Colorado river, but did not take the roads. Plan to come back, but don’t think I could stand to scrape our Teslas. The Cybertruck seems a bit too big for these roads?? Wish Tesla would make a medium sized truck,...would love that! Thx for the video....really really cool to have a model Y out there!
I've got a James Baroud Grand Raid medium (63x79) and it works great. Quick release mounts integrated into the OEM Tesla roof racks. I'd love seeing how you put your roof rack together!
Inspiring! I've been out to the roads around Moab in a 4WD Toy Tacoma and that was challenging enough in spots. What's your measured ground clearance with this setup?
5:00 holy smokes man, I was driving my model y into yosemite last week and I was driving like a grandma compared to this. paved roads and everything too lol
Pity that the Citroen hydro-pneumatic suspension is not an option. It used to be a great thrill to jack up my estate and go across a rock-scape, then level back down for the road. Brilliant scenery - What about charging and range?
@@i1Tesla your problem Is that you were driving too fast for how your suspension is tuned. Lowering your tire pressure can improve “comfort” but so can driving slower. You were clearly driving too fast on many of those features and causing your suspension to bottom out.
After watching this video I can say this with ease, those two routes are just the everyday dirt roads I can find around my city. Question: How much clearance this Model Y has at the highest setting? My car has 18*cm* of clearance.
"you can travel the WORLD on google" LoL... true... sometimes I drop down into the streets of Bangladesh on google street-view and walk the streets out to the port; am I the only one who does this? LoL...
I'm going to build a 4-tire air setup just to have perfect tire pressure balance, nice idea. For your solar charger yesterday, did you get the 12v battery error while charging or just when you were running the fridge? I'd like to do a similar setup just to help the 12v battery.
you are brave, no spare tire ?? Wonder if Telsa would deliver a spare tire to you if you got stuck there, covered under warranty ?? !!!! Tire with Rim is $2K minimum
Brian, I'm about to take a 1200 mile trip on US interstates and highways. I am most nervous about if I need to replace a tire (especially since the tires I prefer took weeks to order). Then I watched you guys out in the middle of nowhere putting your tires through hell... Makes me think I'm being a little overly worrisome now. BTW, did you have a spare tire with you?
I live in Moab and wouldn’t drive that fast with tires that have very little room to cushion impacts. You can see the way he deformed the tire it was pushing the limits. He could’ve blown a tire there and IMO the Tesla has enough power and torque that you shouldn’t smash into ledges like that because the risk of blowing a tire in the middle of nowhere is pretty high with that setup.
The Tesla tires that run with very little sidewall will always have a high risk for flatting. You go over a railroad track or cattle guard with an impact the suspension can’t handle and boom your tire is flat. I once observed a team of valets change a new Land Rover’s tire because they somehow damaged it driving from one mansion’s driveway down to the road where it would be parked and it had these 20-21” rims with very little sidewall. On the other hand I take my Taycan with the fat 19” rims tires over all kinds of stuff and I feel pretty comfortable knowing there is a lot of extra tire to cushion any impacts the suspension can’t handle.
I bow to you. Fantastic job. Jaw clenched just watching. I love Utah and have seen a lot of it. Now you have seen even more. Cheers!
Thanks 👍

Thanks man, been there 2001, region, not the trail. Could watch the raw footage for hours. So so beautiful. Greetings from Europe.
My pleasure!
Brian, you officially have the most badass rig of any Tesla owner. Absolutely love this stuff.

Thank you
By far the coolest piece of Tesla content I've seen. This should have millions of views. Well done!
quality entertainment. no fluff. no drama or click bait! keep it up!!!!
I didn't breathe the entire length of this incredible video, Brian! I only remember holding my breath for this incredible scenery!

Have you seen the new Extreme-E off-road series, those vehicles would be perfect for that track.
Wow! That's awesome! Congrats! I had been wanting to see a Tesla doing off-roading. Sweet!

Take care Ryan and I appreciate all that you do
Just a couple more inches of clearance would be nice. Glad you didn't scrape too much. I can see how scary that would be.
Your Model S is the same place mine’s in … nowhereville! Just be happy that you’re in the early part of the queue!
Amazing amazing amazing, can't wait to see what you achieve with your Rivian.
More excited than ever for my CyberTruck 😁
Nice video. Thanks. I was going to take mine to Wariior Creek Offroad in Southwest GA (Norman Park) & was thinking about what my issues would be! ❤
love seeing you brave Moab. I'm from Utah and Moab is truly stunning. I LOVE taking my jeep there. soon I'll be towing my jeep there using my Tesla. :)
Beyond excited for the CT in areas like this. Thanks for sharing !

Pretty funny watching a Tesla do any off-roading. I go to Moab every year a couple of times but with a built wrangler.
Inspiring! I've been out to the roads around Moab in a 4WD Toy Tacoma and that was challenging enough in spots. What's your measured ground clearance with this setup?
Súper clean setup! And you use everything 100%
Yes! Thank you!
That's a really cool way to inflate/deflate your tires. Clever.
Good Job!!! It’s fantastic to see you out there getting dirty.
🤗AWESOME TRIP….THANKS FOR LETTING US TAG ALONG🤗. …BE PATIENT 😉YOUR CAR WILL BE WORTH THE WAIT👍😍😍😍
I have MPP’s non-adjustable comfort coilovers and they’re awesome. Didn’t realize they made an adjustable version, that’d be perfect.
Brian, you've created a fantastic video, as always! I love the way you have transformed the Tesla. Keep up the good work.
looks so beautiful, but also scary. Can't wait to see Cybertrucks dominate these trails. Tesla will need larger charging spots there soon.
America looks so beautiful from a Tesla
Cheers from the French alps 👋
Love your videos. What's your average range with all of your gear? And, with all the different suspension and add-ons?
5:00 holy smokes man, I was driving my model y into yosemite last week and I was driving like a grandma compared to this. paved roads and everything too lol
Beautiful views for sure.
Pity that the Citroen hydro-pneumatic suspension is not an option. It used to be a great thrill to jack up my estate and go across a rock-scape, then level back down for the road.
Brilliant scenery -
What about charging and range?
Beautiful shots of MOAB, I definitely want to stop there my next time I’m in Utah.
Amazing place and car. Well done. 😊
Nads of steel going around that "chicken out" curve!
The massive torque available needs to be harnessed in a “low range” off road mode to prevent tires from slipping going uphill
The Moab superchargers are tight. Tesla definitely need to find a better place to put them
Epic. Still need that shot of the bar flex when you get in the tent... 😜
Seems like you'd fall more into the Rivian target audience than Tesla. It would be cool to do it again in a Rivian. Great video
That was amazing 😮❤
Very cool!!! Great video!!!!
Thank you very much!
You have it backwards. Airing down is mostly for traction, as it elongates the tire's contact patch. Slightly more comfort is just an added benefit.
Not on this trail

I definitely want to go there
My man parts disappeared just watching Chickens Corner.
Awesome!
Great stuff .
Thanks!
Great video of a quasi martian experience. You're good since you had Martian Wheels. LOL
Model y with air suspension will work great there
I went through Moab with my Bolt on 5/19 and again last night. Wish I’d run into you
Again video is so well done.
Wow, thank you!
Thanks!
Thank you very much for the support!
What a couple of bad@$ses! Great job you two crazy kids!
Thanks!!
Awesome work keep up the videos 🌟
What ground clearance are you having at the maximum rn
"you can travel the WORLD on google" LoL... true... sometimes I drop down into the streets of Bangladesh on google street-view and walk the streets out to the port; am I the only one who does this? LoL...
I hope to take my cybertruck out there some day
This is so cool !
Any chances to see the bottom of the car ?
I can't imagine what you will do with a Cybertruck :-)
First time watching your video and I love it. Love your Tesla . What’s your ground clearance?
Not enough for what I did. I need to measure it still
You know they make UTV's for that. Genius
I'm going to build a 4-tire air setup just to have perfect tire pressure balance, nice idea.
For your solar charger yesterday, did you get the 12v battery error while charging or just when you were running the fridge? I'd like to do a similar setup just to help the 12v battery.
The error was from the fridge running. i will have a detailed video about the solar hood soon
I need that decal! :(
Looks so nice how the tesla is all dusty
you are brave, no spare tire ?? Wonder if Telsa would deliver a spare tire to you if you got stuck there, covered under warranty ?? !!!! Tire with Rim is $2K minimum
I did have a spare tire in the back
How havent you ran out of charge when going off roading and camping? When i go to the city and come back i barely make it home with 10%
How much was the total for the upgrades, void any warranties? Any issues with the the equipment youve put on?
Do you have any skid plates for the battery? Or they are properly protected from factory? Ty

Depends on how old your tires are right now. Do they handle the rain will and other driving conditions? I did have a full size spare in the car.

Was all of that one charge. I was listening for that information
Yes you don't use much power driving low
What is your hood solar? Is it the Lensun kit? Does it charge your 12v or go to a standalone battery?
Is this a Model Y Performance with all 18” wheels?
Yes. You need the Martian Wheels to fit over the brakes
Martian wheels MWO3
martianwheels.com/collections/wheels-for-model-y
Would you or have you done a range test with the off road wheels and everything else done?
I am wondering how far you get with a full charge and that setup (on the street).
How much range did the whole trip take?
How much charge at the end of that day on the trails?
What % battery did you use to get to the campsite?
I forget but I think I was down to 71 or 73%
Question: the 30psi tire pressure, doesnt it trigger the yellow low tire pressure?
What's the black pad on the hood?
Solar panel. Video soon
Stock Continental tires?
Was this the RWD version???
can you tell us whats on your hood?
cool!
you gotta have some momentum going and some balls too.
Feel or fell the wind? ;)
My bad Feel
We have wind so strong here sometimes it does in fact “fell” you. Lol.
Where did u get the mud protector? Thx
Amazon. Just basic red ones
My stock Chevy HHR could do this road. The HHR probably has more ground clearance. Where is the charging station?
Not impressed
What was the tire gauge you used?
You need a Cybertruck!
Do it again with a little more lift and beadlocks 😈
👌
What is the efficiency on your car?
Its no truck but this is sick
It seems modded TMYs are quite capable - th-cam.com/video/_rHfP8B84fw/w-d-xo.htmlm5s
what you're doin is unique.. and so is your tuned car.. Elon would be as impressed as I am... marswards.
Thank you
