Woodturning - I TRY an IDEA with slices of log and the result is...❓😳

- I'm trying an interesting experiment with slices of hazel log and epoxy resin.
The result is surprising, and gives new ideas and possibilities for projects from a simple base, accessible to beginners who know how to use woodworking machines such as band saws, table saws and lathes.
I film my work in my own woodworking workshop, in a calm and relaxing asmr style atmosphere to share my ideas with you.
Enjoy!

Very nice. I hope this doesn't ruin it for anyone, but I see a cross between a tortoise and a banded armadillo. I enjoy, in particular, all of the lidded bowls you make.

Oh my gosh, how wonderful! The handle is just such a cool idea! I knew when I saw the green and the yellow gold come out that the piece was going to be wonderful! Of course, green is my favorite color!😅 ❤ You always do such wonderful work, and I really do enjoy the explanations of your process. Thank you so much for sharing!❤😊❤

That's really nice and I love the colours. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you Karen😊🌸🌸
Very cool. I was a bit surprised at how the green seemed to come to the top in the pressure pot. Still came out beautifully.
thank you Doug 👍yes, sometimes the results are random, especially with resins 😉
Gorgeous, love the colours.
Irene😊🌸🌸
That is a very cool random look. The color choice worked out great.
Thank you John😉

Love this, so beautiful
Thank you Kathy👍🌸
Well thought out concept which worked out well. Loved the way you used the pine cone. It made the piece.
Barry😉👍👍
Nice one Morgan.
Jack 😉👍👍thank you
I really like the lidded dish. The wooden circles really made a great filler along with the resin. Wonder how it would have looked with one color of resin? Thanks for sharing your talent. I look forward to seeing your art works each week.
Jean

How about some purple? LMAO
These are the colors of spring 😉
in purple it would also be very pretty 👍
Very quirky. I like it.

That turned out really nice
Jim😉👍
Thank you so much for your comment
The only thing that could possibly made it better would be to cut the rounds from a limb with light sap wood and a dark center. Fantastic job on the piece 👌❤️
James
thank you so much for your comment😉👍
Very nice, I like your style
thank you very much I’m very happy that you appreciate my work 😉👍
Hi 👋, nice job,
Thank you so much for your comment 😉👍
Great job Morgan. Say, do you make your own sanding compound?
I have made a compound made with yellow bee's wax, baby oil, and diadematoids earth and use a fine sanding cloth. It holds the dust in the sanding cloth and allows you to wipe it free and reuse the cloth.
John
Thank you John for your comment 😉yes indeed I make my own abrasive paste but I don't use the same ingredients as you👍
Very nice❤
Raghbirsingh thank you so much for your comment 🌸❤️
Crazy work man but cool as hell 😵💫
thank you very much I’m very happy that you appreciate my work 😉👍
Beautiful work but I would have preferred it with just the green color
thank you for your comment 😉
Awesome!
Thank you Harry😉
Really cool stuff.
Thank you so much for your comment 😉
That's a cool look and much easier prep than most of your other pieces. I'll give that a try.
That’s neat. It looks like a woven blanket.
thank you gray😉👍
OMW!!! Morgan, it is absolutely BEAUTIFUL ❤❤❤
Thank you Venita🌸🌸🌸
I love it. I love pumpkins, and, to me, this looks a bit like a pumpkin.
Thank you Deb😉🌸 I’m glad you like it 😊
Belo efeito, bela forma e lindas cores.

The full bucket reminds me of fried potatoes lol
I thought the exact same thing.
yes a potato gratin 😋
Nice job! :)))
Thanks Laurie🌸
WOW THATS a cool bowl. weldon
manjitsingh
Thank you so much ❤️🌸
Very nice. What product are you using to fill the pores? 😊
a special pore filler product regardless of the brand😉
Do you need a pressure pot for all of The work that you do🇵🇹
Josepaulo
no I do not systematically use a pressure pot, it depends on the type of wood, the type of resin and the type of project..😉
❤
😊
why fill the bowl with the pieces that you are just going to cut away? wouldn't it be easier to somehow leave the center empty? such as put a cup in the middle before you pour the resin? then you wouldn't be cutting away so much.
Klee
thank you so much for your comment😉
no this is not interesting on a small piece like this as there is very little space between the bottom and the top😉
Lovely. Why have you not signed your work, again? xxx
tina
I made my signature with the laser directly under the piece😉
It would float in resin UNLESS you put a weight on it. Just saying. I wouldn't have glued them. I like the ying-yang-type face at 3:35.
Morgan
thank you for your comment👍
@@bawbreizhartwood you're quite welcome...great job...very, very creative and the colours of resin really made the wood pop!!!
I don't get it. The resin was poured side by side, but cured top and bottom.
Susie 😉
yes sometimes there are funny surprises with the resin and the pigments🧐
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
😉😋
🙋🏻♂️👍🏻👍🏻🧠 🔥🪵=🥇 😇👋
Thanks bob😉
